¡Qué maravilloso café! Asegúrate de probar el pastel de cereza Bakewell. Lo mejor que hemos tenido por un kilómetro. El café era muy bueno y realmente disfrutamos de nuestra visita.

Hermoso pequeño lugar. Gran lugar para el desayuno. Es bueno ver pequeñas manchas que nunca he encontrado. Volveré. Tomé 2 rollos y un café encantador. A poca distancia de Princes Street y en una parte menos frenética de la ciudad.

Informé que la cocina de Laura era un gran lugar para desayunar - bueno, ofrece excelente comida para el almuerzo y el almuerzo, así como pasteles recién horneados. En un día muy frío, un tazón de sopa caliente bien presentado es justo lo que se necesitaba. Seguido con un panini de una gran lista de rellenos, patatas chaqueta, envolturas calientes del día, plato caliente del día y un montón de opciones para los veganos. El lunes, te preguntas si los pasteles sobraron de la semana anterior. Los pasteles aquí estaban recién horneados con la chef llegando a las 5 am para asegurarse de que la gama está a la altura de sus altos estándares. Este es un lugar que no debe perderse. He venido esta mañana por un poco de gluten - desayuno gratis. Era mi primera visita. La calidad era excelente, 7 y nada era demasiado problema, ya que necesitaba cambiar el orden para llevar. Delicioso café y un sándwich de tocino. Muy recomendable.

Er werd voor ons een super lekkere en heel betaalbare vegetarische wrap gemaakt en we kregen ook nog leuke tips wat we nog konden bezoeken in de stad.

I found this place after one or two places on Yelp either weren’t open or didn’t exist anymore. It was near our hotel and looked cute. It is really nice—there are only a few tables in here and so it is more of a locals or takeout/takeaway place, but it was fun to sit and enjoy the neighborhood from the window. The lady who took my order was nice; since you pick a type of bread and then select items from the display to add to the sandwich, I had no idea what to pick. She helped me select items and also helped me to pick what to put on the potato. Everything was good, and the food was prepared in front of us at the counter as we waited in our seats. Overall, I thought it was a nice place and enjoyed my time there. It is a quiet neighborhood and small place, so if you want something within walking distance of the main drag but want it to be quiet and a “best kept secret” kind of place, this would be it.

Casual pop in for some breakfast. Friendly service with lots of people being looked after at the same time. Clean and tidy but also lots to keep the eye interested around the place. Definitely will go back.

Popped in for a coffee and got a home made scone which huge and very tasty very surprised to find thay had lactose free butter with my coffee it was better than fantastic staff very friendly

The best breakfast since I have been in the UK and incidentally the only decent porridge in Edinburgh. Great prices and Laura was very nice. Will come again

It is such a lovely small café aside the main roads. So it is quite silent and relaxing. For me an absolute insider tip! The people working there are really really nice. I went there twice to try more of their many options of breakfast.

Great cafe for breakfast before a day at the Fringe! Black pudding with or without haggis on a roll is delicious. My wife says Laura's scrambled eggs are brilliant.

Just had the full Scottish breakfast and it was fabulous. Perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, the haggis and black pudding were very tasty and perfect. Great staff looking after you. Really good coffee as well and the sign of a good place is that the locals use it and there were a lot of locals coming for their takeaway rolls etc. Thank you

Little gem of a cafe. My daughter’s and I went for breakfast and loved the experience. This is a small cafe with a friendly vibe. There’s is a great choice on the breakfast menu. I had scrambled eggs and croissant which was delicious. One of my daughters had granola and berries and the other a warm cheese scone. The coffee was great.

Nice cute spot, sadly the most unwelcoming & unfriendly place I have ever visited. Coffee was awful, when asked to remake as beyond burnt bitttr & piping hot, they refused and asked to pay to remake. I did not drink the coffee & dark haired girl made a scene & insited on payment. Clearly a stand off & I refused as politely gave them an opportunity to put this right. You don’t need service like this anywhere in the world.

Food was lovely but i get the sense that its a local place for local people. Service was cold and unwelcoming but food was good.

Nice enough place but I think we went on a bad day for them, atmosphere a bit tense. I am sure they are usually spot on. Food ok but seating a bit too cramped for me with a lot of knick knacks everywhere. Its a very busy place so they must be doing something right, its in an area where locals would use them daily/weekly. It's a personal choice not a criticism about the cafe.

My initial impression Of Scottish breakfast was terrible because the food I ordered in my first day of arrival was not only bland but the bacon was cold, ( wait for it) in comes Laura’s kitchen, and they restored my confidence in taste Scottish breakfasts. If you want a great first impression, eat here first!

We always love coming here. The GF carrot cake I’ve raved about before, and is the best flavour and presentation in the whole of Edinburgh (in my opinion). It’s rare to find a decent gluten free cake and this, along with the GF lemon yoghurt drizzle cake, are the ones that we come back for again and again. I’m coeliac and have never had any issues here. The morning rolls are super, too. Three rashers of very flavoursome smoked bacon. I order a GF version, and get toasted GF bread. It always comes piping hot. We always go in for takeaway carrot cake, too, and if you bring your own box you can get 25p off a slice. Sometimes you might get a Lucky Box, which might be a free scone or drink! The place can get busy during lunchtimes, but most of it is takeaways for the local office staff, but be patient. Service is good and I note that they do keep an eye on things and don’t leave you waiting too long if you’ve finished your meal. They clear things away promptly. Open very early in the morning (7am) and close at 3pm, which is a good span of time.

I expected normal French toast but was happily surprised to receive it the way it was served to me in the boat house in, central park bringing back lots of nice memories. Its served in curbs of poppy seeded Light as air bread and sweet with crispy bacon and maple sauce. If you've never tried it this way, you definitely should! The owner was lovely throughout and the prices are fair.

Went for coffee at about 7.30am. The coffee machine was turned off and the proprietress came to see us to apologise because we had to wait for our coffee. BUT THEN SHE DID SOMETHING EXTRA! After apologising, she offered us a free scone 'on the house' to make up for our trouble. WOW, what amazing care and service. It made our day. Oh and the coffee and scones (we had 3, - paid for 2!) were beautiful as well. What a great experience. Thank you

I’ve lived in Edinburgh for a year and just discovered this place. There were four of us and we all ordered different things and each meal was fantastic. The croissants and scones were so fresh and the eggs perfectly cooked. I’ve already been back several times. A must visit!

Went to Laura’s Kitchen for breakfast and had a wonderful meal. Everything was so fresh. Croissants, scones, and other baked good were delicious!! I had the egg, croissant and bacon and it was yummy!! Second time visiting for my husband. Reasonable priced too!

Found Laura’s Kitchen on our walk to the Haymarket train station - had a great breakfast, my son had the full breakfast, which a taste of everything, including black pudding and haggis. I had the roll filled with an egg and sausage - brilliant.

Called in this morning for a quick breakfast on way to meetings. Great service, home made food, prepared by Laura herself. Served speedily and politely. Great food and lovely area to eat in.

Nice, relaxed café to have breakfast. We visited twice during our short stay in Edinburgh. Laura was accomodating for coeliacs and they even had a lovely gluten free lemon drizzle cake that we had to come back for more! They had a wide range of breakfast options including a traditional Scottish breakfast. Staff were very friendly also.

Good choice of panini, freshly made, tasty and nicely presented. Good choice of cakes and drinks too. Mainly focused on take away, with only 8 covers. No high chairs or changing facilities. Pleasant staff and quiet atmosphere.

Este es un maravilloso lugar para comer en el restaurante o para llevar. Nos alojamos en el barrio por un par de días y fuimos cada mañana antes de salir. La comida es estupenda y Laura es precioso. Con tantas opciones, cocina de Laura es verdaderamente un hallazgo!

Decent place to go for a breakfast roll or a simple lunch. I tend to have used Laura's more for takeway because the windows get ridiculously steamed up with the backstage cooking and it is not the nicest environment to sit in.

This is a great spot for breakfast on the go, or if there is space sit down and try the French Toast and don't forget a side of bacon. Been in the U.K. for 6 days so far and this was the best breakfast yet.

Nous sommes tombés par hasard sur Laura’s Kitchen et ce fut une très bonne découverte. Cuisine familiale, très bonnes baked potatoes et très bons desserts. Le personnel est très accueillant et très sympa.

Decidimos comer aquí después de probar un par de lugares en la zona para el desayuno que no no es para nosotros. Luego encontramos de Laura. Poco lugar muy concurrido, pero la comida era increíble. Mejor fritos que tuvimos en Edimburgo! Sin duda nos volveríamos a comer aquí de nuevo si alguna vez estamos en Edimburgo. Sin duda recomendaría llovío Id para el desayuno y el almuerzo como algunos de los otros preparan la comida, como no parecía y los pasteles! El personal era muy amable, así que ¿qué más se puede pedir!

Como estábamos en Edimburgo buscamos por todas partes para un café que no un buen desayuno completo escocés (de las que no hay suficientes de atención a otras personas). Laura cumplía todos los requisitos: -) un poco caro para un desayuno, pero viene con tocino, huevos, frijoles, tomates, champiñones, tostadas, pero lo más importante es que haggis, morcilla, salchichas y tatti Lorne bollos.

Stopped here for a light lunch with a friend. The soup was delicious and bread roll fresh and tasty. My friend had the salmon bagel which she said was excellent. Cakes looked lovely but we were already full. Great value. We'll be back.

Vine aquí para desayuno recientemente después de leer algunas críticas buenas y no me decepcionó. Menú de desayuno muy agradable, buena relación calidad-precio y un ambiente encantador, amable y local a la cafetería. El menú del almuerzo también se veía bien.

Situado en una calle muy típica nos quedaba cerca del hotel. La pena es que no pudimos repetir mas veces pero es un lugar encantador asi como el personal que nos atendió. Tienen un mostrador lleno de delicias para hacer un desayuno personalizado. Buen precio.

We wanted a light lunch and wandering around the West End we came across Laura's. Two American couples were just leaving and were praising the food and service. Laura made us most welcome we had a couple of toasted sandwiches and a "sausage stovie" (if you don't know what a stovie is then you need to visit). After thoroughly enjoying our "mains" we couldn't resist the fresh baked carrot cake and cheese scone. On top of that I was tempted to order an extra treacle scone as I'd never had one before. I'm now in the position to recommend Laura's treacle scones.

We had a delicious lunch - I had a baked potato with a very generous filling of prawn mayonnaise. My friend, who is vegan, found there was plenty on the menu for her too. We then sat and chatted for ages, without being made to feel we were in the way.

I came based on trip advisor reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Great staff, lovely food and lots of character in the tiny but lovely cafe.

A great selection of food you would expect from this type of establishment. I eagerly await to daily specials as there are some excellent choices. If you're in the area it's deffinately worth visiting.

Our hotel offered breakfast, but it was very expensive. We found Laura's Kitchen online, and it was a more reasonable (and tasty!) alternative. However, by the time we paid for parking, it was probably the same price as the hotel!!! Anyway, very good and hearty breakfast that lasted us through until much later in the day!

Laura's is a small cafe om the west end. A bit of inside or outside seating or takeaway. She makes the best coffee I had on our UK trip! Breakfast sandwiches are really good too! Well worth the visit!

Stumbled across this wee gem the other day when my usual place across the road was closed.2 coffees and filled rolls, excellent service, reasonable price and spotlessly clean.Prompt service from Laura, had a nice atmosphere but yet was quiet enough for me to do business.Definitely worth a visit, I will be back soon.

I used to work around the corner - and I miss it! The lunch is great, lots of options, and all taste great. The jacket potatoes are always cooked really well (the spicy chicken and cheese one is delicious!). If you are in the area, definitely worth a try,

Been here a few times now as its near my work and always really impressed with the food. Salad boxes are delicious and choices are great. Breakfast rolls are also very tasty. Prices are really reasonable for the area and Staff are really friendly. Also a lovely little outdoor suntrap if you are lucky enough to get the sun when in Edinburgh!

Took breakfast here on Saturday morning and I'm really glad we did. Laura really knows how to make a cooked breakfast! You need an appetite to get through the Full Scottish but then again, you'll need energy if you plan on walking about Edinburgh all day. Laura will also make you up whatever combination you want.The cafe is small an intimate and really beautiful and we all felt so happy to be eating in a privately run place- and you could really feel the difference in the personal touch. The prices are amazing- I honestly think Laura could push them up a little and it would still be a bargain.Definitely recommended. I'm only sorry we didn't stay for lunch as the choices looked amazing!

My wife and I stumbled upon Laura's Kitchen on the morning of August 11th on the tail end of our holiday in Scotland. We had coffee, a breakfast roll, and a porridge. Everything was delicious and despite being overly busy, Laura made time to talk with us about our holiday in Scotland. I highly recommend Laura's Kitchen for anyone in Edinburg looking for a delicious start to the day.

We stumbled upon the cafe for a late breakfast. The service was warm and friendly, the porridge was tasty and piping hot, and our beverages were spot on as well. Lunch options looked quite inviting. Thanks for taking away my "hangry" and giving me the energy to continue exploring your beautiful city!!

I had a porridge with bananas and honey and my wife had scrambled eggs on toast. All was delicious! Very creamy porridge. The cappuccinos were great with enough espresso inside to keep us going until lunchtime. The homemade rolls looked nice, too. You can get them with plenty different fillings.

This was the best! Best food, best location, best staff, and wonderful owner. Don't miss this gem. Full Scottish breakfast was such a treat. Best meal we had in weeks. Will find a way to get back as often as possible.

What a lovely place to visit .The girls are always happy smiling and ready to serve. The food is always lovely and a great range of choices from soup of the day to toasties/rolls. Each order is freshly made to order and truly made with thought. The also do fabulous home baking! This is by far the best little cafe around this area and Extremely reasonable in price. Compared to other cafe in the area I think this is one of those places you wish to visit for good home made food! Very impressed and a happy customer

My wife and I had a brilliant Scottish breakfast, lovely and fresh, great value for money, perfect if you're a local and even better if you're a tourist looking to try some haggis and black pudding, great service and very near the West End shops. Will definitely be back on my next trip to Edinburgh.

I like the food but I was pretty turned off by the staff handling money, not washing hands and not wearing gloves. Been here 3 times and same every time. Turned my stomach which is a shame as the food is lovely

I get my lunch here most days Monday to Friday. There is a lot of competition in the area so it has to be good. Or maybe its just that they are all totally bonkers and such great fun.They have all the usual take away lunch fare: baked tatties, rolls, sandwiches, wraps with a large choice of fresh fillings, salad boxes, teas coffees, a couple of fresh soups every day. They also do a nice hot special most days and a variety of home made cakes.The chilli is great and they wont charge you 50p for putting some extra jalapenos on it like they do along the road.There are a few tables inside and a couple outside for the two minutes of sunshine Edinburgh gets a year. I have even taken my wife here a couple of times for a spot of lunch when we were in the area - and she didn't say no the second time I suggested it so it must be OK.

A small cafe, open for nearly a year, in a narrow street in Edinburgh's West End. A very simple one room cafe with kitchen at the back and a couple of small tables outside.Eat in or take away with a good selection of breakfast and lunch food.I was with my wife who shared my full breakfast; fried or scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, Lorne sausage, black pudding, haggis, potato scone, hash brown, beans, mushroom, tomato and toast. With coffee £7.00 which made the breakfast itself about £5.00.With warning I might have managed it all but I was glad of some help. The coffee was good and hot and the two ladies (Laura and Jade) were friendly and attentive.Two small comments; the rather round coffee cups look good but are hard to hold and drink from and the only criticism is that the actual sausage was a bit cheap and dull. I would rather pay a little more and get a tasty sausage but overall, it was a great breakfast.

What a great find. Sat outside in the baking sun and ate possible the best breakfast ever. Big plateful of lovely varied food. Highly recommended. That's my Edinburgh breakfast sorted from now on!!
