Very small café in Edinburgh centre, very few tables inside. We found a seat and we enjoyed the soup and sandwich. The staff is quite friendly, the coffee is good, the espresso a bit too long. Good place to eat something at a reasonable price.

SUCH a slay! for real dawg. Coffee and a sandwich was five pounds and as a broke student on a holiday it was exactly what i needed. MAJOR PLUS is that alternative milks and syrups are FREE as they should be because again not my fault i can’t digest milk and i shouldn’t have to pay 50p for a change of milk. Really nice vibes too and the service was great. would recommend

My wife, daughter and I were waiting to return to Edinburgh Airport, but wanted to have coffee and a snack before leaving the city centre. We discovered this small coffee shop by pure chance and it was totally AMAZING! We were welcomed by both memb ers of staff, quickly found a table and ordered soon after. The coffee was hot and delicious. The hot sandwiches were also fantastic (me and my daughter) while the lemon drizzle cake enjoyed by my wife was fabulous. There was also a fantastically relaxing atmosphere and, putting everything together, just goes to show that the independent coffee outlets are far better than those awful international chain stores.

How can such a small cafe have such lovely food? We were 4 adults and each toasted sandwich was delicious. I had the avocado and tomato salsa one, followed by a perfect lemon drizzle cake. My son had coffee and he is very fussy with it ( one of these aeropress Milennials) and he found the cafe because of its coffee and it certainly isn't terrible.

I went in to Latitude to escape the torrential rain and to say there was a homely feeling would be underplaying it. Incredibly lovely staff who brought over my coffee and cake very quickly. As you will read in most other reviews, the cake is to die for but it is also worth noting that, contrary to some people’s opinions, the coffee knocks your socks off too! Would absolutely go here again. Very cheap, very nice.

went here as it got great reviews. it doesn't seem very big and had only two tiny tables outside. the serving area was very well screened. the cakes looked amazing and the woman serving was very friendly. the cake and coffee came out in no time and the price was reasonable at 9 for a latte an americano and two massive slices of cake. the cakes were really good. top notch. however...the coffee was just shocking. tasted like it was made of stale grounds swept out a load of old tins they had had in the back for a few years. it was like drinking a cup of dust. I can honestly say it was the worst coffee I've had in a very long time. I'm giving a bad review for the coffee so that they sort themselves out because that cake was great and it needed better company. cake 5/5 coffee 0/5

Edinburgh in November can be cold and unwelcoming, the wind tears through the streets and, after a brisk open-top bus ride (don't ask, I'm still looking for my nose and ears) we wanted somewhere to warm ourselves and have a good coffee. Latitude does both! It has no pretensions of grandeur, the misty window stopped us from seeing in, but we were greeted by the proprietor as soon as we walked through the door. The menu is basic and limited but of high quality; the coffee delicious, the cakes mouthwatering. It's a perfect antidote to the ridiculous over-the-top extravaganza of the Dome and, in November, THERE WERE NO CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS! It's just a pleasant, laid-back place to be.

Walking along Rose Street in search of lunch and came across this place. There was only one other customer.. probably a sign but we sat ourselves anyway. The Waitress did not come over or greet us so we read the menu off the blackboard and ordered at the till. We ordered 1 x soup and salad and 1 x soup and toasty at a rip off of £7 each. We were served a cold, small mug of soup which we had to take back up to the counter and it was re-heated in the microwave.......The salad was plain and basic and the toasty - mediocre. We ate it as we were starving and short on time and decided to grab a quick coffee before we left. Again, we had to go up to the till and order as had no check back on our food. We then waited and watched as other people who came in and ordered after us were served drinks and then the waitress started mopping the floors as if we were invisible. At this point we had already paid the whole bill but asked for a refund of the coffees and cookie (another £7!) and left. It wasn't busy so can't even make excuses for the bad service. The toilets are vile. Overpriced, poor quality and overall just of a really low standard.

Watching a woman and young girl rushing about panicking is not my ideal way to spend my lunch. We visited this cafe simply because it was busy so assumed it might be good. We spent over £17 on 2 cups of soup and a small sandwich. It took the staff 15 minutes to come over and take our order. The lady didn't know what coke zero was, so we made-do with regular coke. The soup wasn't great and the sandwich tiny with around 20 grams of brie. £6.50 for soup and a sandwich in Edinburgh seems ok, but the quantity and quality were not acceptable.

I took my family there for a quick lunch, mainly because of the amazing position on Rose street. What a mistake. The place is falling apart. ..or is it stylish nowadays? I don't know. We had 3 sandwiches at 5 quid each. .. that turn out to be cold rolls barely stuffed... not even a salad garnish with them, just a cold roll on a plate. On top of that, we had to change our order 3 times because every time we asked for something, the waiter would come back 5 mins later saying "sorry we ran out of it". Another strange thing... there's no till, so the lady added up everything by hand... getting the total wrong by 10 quid. Oh my... keep an eye on it.

Wandering along Rose Street, it looked nice from the outside and we were ready for some lunch so thought we'd go here. It was pretty empty, only two tables with customers (out of about ten tables), so we picked a table to sit at and started reading the menu from a large blackboard on the wall. I was quite impressed that there was a choice of four soups, plus a variety of sandwiches. We chose one soup and an 'artisan' roll (the choice was between white and brioche), one soup and a sandwich (again a choice between a white or brioche roll), an Americano and an Earl Grey tea.

My fiancé and I dropped in for a quick lunch during the working day. The ceiling was a state and i'm not sure if it was safe for customers to be in. We were shouted at in a most aggressive manner by the blonde waitress when we asked her what the soup of the day was. When we were presented with our food it was two fairly small mugs of soup slammed down on the table in front of us. No accompanying bread or anything. When we went up to pay the bill we were charged £12 originally (for two soups!!!) my partner politely queried this as on the board is said soup was £4 each. She then started shouting at us again and the other waiter behind the counter. Eventually she conceded that she would charge us £8 but we were made to feel like it was our mistake even though it clearly states on the board £4 each. Easily the most rude member of staff I have ever encountered. We will never go back. Over priced, substandard and dreadful staff.

Looks very nice from the outside, however when you go inside the covers on walls are falling off, the celing is stained and badly patched up!

Popped in for a coffee with my wife. The service and atmosphere was amazing. The two girls serving were a delight and their names are Julia and Stella. Plus the coffee was excellent.

Steht nirgends. Also am Tresen bestellt. Es dauerte 50 Minuten für "fast food". Alles etwas klebrig, keiner hat gefragt, ob man noch etwas trinken möchte. Fish u Chips waren naja, Burger war ok. Insgesamt so gar nicht unser Ding.
