We have wanted to try Lasan for a while and as we have two family birthdays on the same day we decided to go along last Saturday to celebrate. We all had the 6 course tasting menu which was absolutely amazing. I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough food for the men in our party but there was plenty and we all left feeling well fed. Everything was perfect, outstanding service from knowledgeable staff, amazing food and lovely comfortable surroundings. We will definitely be returning to try out more dishes from the extensive menu 😃

Booked a table for 7 over the phone I was informed that the table was secured for 2:30 for a work event with some of my best clients and colleagues I received a phone call that 2:30 isn’t possible and we now need to rebook for 5pm left us with no reservations and our table was booked for 2 days time! Unacceptable terrible service, one colleague says it’s fine the other cancels it. No attempt to re accommodate

Disgusting management - will proudly embarrass and ridicule their staff in front of customers yet see no fault in their actions. Food was overpriced and not authentic tasting at all. More catered for a subtle and bland palette.

Had a great time at Lasan with family. The curries that we ordered all tasted unique and different to one another. The Decor is very elegant and back ground music was enough for us to have a nice conversation. We ordered a selection of starters and the Lamb chops literally melt in your mouth and seasoned to perfection. We ordered a selection of 4 mains which we all shared and accompanied it with the most tastiest Garlic Nan, the softest tandoori Roti and the light Romali roti. We didn't have space for desserts but i will definitely be back to try out the taster menu. Service by Marvil (hope i got that correct) was excellent, his awareness of the menu and recommendations was excellent. The way her glides through tables to provide services to others was like an Art. Keep it up brother On average we spent around £46 per head, but that's without Alcohol. Even though I have given it a 5 star rating there is however 2 area's that I felt could improve on. The stairs leading up to the restaurant feels very steep and the steps could be wider in depth. So please ladies becareful with those heels on. The other point I would like to raise is, please don't rush the customers towards the end. We felt the manager came to us in 3 occasions which was very intimidating, throughout the night he didnt even once come to check up on his, he even gave the bill without me asking for it, at this point my family felt they had to leave, I did not like that at all!! When you have a pleasant meal, you like to finish off with a nice conversation. This is one area you definitely need to change... I will definitely be coming again soon and will raise issues if the manager does this again. Overall i still give it a very good experience and will highly recommend it to others.

Went to celebrate birthday. Started off on we were welcomed in to sit by the car until our table was ready. Waited 15 minutes then we were seated. Ordered one drink of water which took over 20 minutes to arrive to the table. We were told the bar was busy upon looking over there was only one customer there at the bar and one person making all the drinks. Ordered food which was a headache in itself as we called waiters over several times to take our order as the waiters kept saying one minute which turned to ten minutes. We ordered starters which was a selection of pakoras and a two mains. Food came all together for some weird reason and we told them we wanted starters first and then the main. Jesus how hard is it!!! Other customers then got frustrated as they were waiting around and some did not even get there popadoms and were handed starters to there disappointed. Ordered another round of drinks and this took another 15/20 minutes. In the end we were really frustrated. Then came dessert which was supposed to be a candle lit cake which never materialised and were told we are sorry. It’s a busy Friday evening surely you need more staff to cope with customers. Food was very sweet no spice to it at all may as well have eaten a yogurt. Never again.

A fantastic food experience! We've been bitten by the taster menu experience before at different places (left hungry after 10 courses) so, despite the interesting taster menu, we decided to go a la carte. Our starters were a life-changing taste, really immaculate. Our mains were nice, too, but waaaaaaay too big to keep savouring. We barely crawled into desert. So, in this case I would recommend trying the taster menu (and I hope portions are more under control). The service was smooth and attentive (by Prajna), and we are thankful for complimentary desserts for our two birthdays! The only minus is a very rowdy large table next to us - the volumes just kept rising which was hard for us and definitely killed the vibe in some more romantically-inclined couples visiting...

We had a lovely lunch here for my younger son's birthday . The food was excellent and we were well looked after by Prajna. I had the selection of pakoras to start, then beef ghal, followed by sticky date dessert.

Absolutely amazing! Couldn't believe how good the prawn starter was! And then the mains came along and I was blown away! Service was impeccable! I just couldn't fault anything!

If you want to experience what in my opinion is the best curry in the UK, then this is the place to come. The food is amazing, and the service to match 5/5 of I've ever seen it.

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the service was nothing short of exceptional. A special thanks to Mike, whose professionalism and warm demeanor made our evening truly special. From start to finish, he ensured every detail was perfect, offering excellent recommendations with a smile. The food, while enjoyable, left room for some improvement. The spices, though present, could be more pronounced to truly let the flavors shine. A better balance in portion sizes would also allow the various flavors to be fully appreciated together. Despite these minor critiques, the overall experience was delightful. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning for another wonderful evening.

Right off the bat, service was excellent and incredibly accommodating, the atmospheric was vibes, reminding me of high class India. The service exceptional, shout out to Mike and Nabil. The food was delicious, I knew I was in the right place as soon as I saw that tandoori chicken. The minute I took a bite, I was 6 again, watching TV in my Bombay flat, my nana was still alive prepping in the kitchen, the sounds of the city were getting ready for bed against the backdrop of the ocean waves and the final sputters of the monsoon. Lasan, I would gladly dine at your restaurant and endure the diarrhoea that follows. Thank you 💕

I enjoyed the food & service but the place was a bit overpriced.

Really a very uncomfortable experience. We booked and paid a deposit for a group of 13. The group included three children. On arrival we had been allocated a table in the main dinning room. However, after we sat down we were told that “it [we] might be noisy” and could we move to a separate room! It was clear that because another couple dinning didn’t like the idea of a large party with children, we were being asked to move. While of course children can be loud sometimes and object to being sat down, once sitting they are and were well behaved. As we thought the request after we had been seated was wholly inappropriate and rude we refused and requested to keep our allocated table. But as parents this put us on edge for the whole meal. It really made the experience very uncomfortable and far from the relaxing and enjoyable meal we were expecting. We thought that this was extremely poorly handled, if there are specific policies the restaurant could have asked us beforehand if there were children and allocated an appropriate table, not after we had sat down! I would strongly recommend anyone looking for an upmarket family meal avoids Lasan.

I wasn't sure what to expect and thought it may be picture on a plate. I can assure you it wasn't. We started with a mixed platter and I personally had the methi chicken. It is the best Indian food I have tasted with very good portions. The staff are very friendly and the service was excellent. I will certainly be returning.

Lovely place, first time there, a group of 6, had a voucher for a belated Birthday, service was great, food was was delicious, pleasantly surprised with price, would recommend Lasan.

The best Indian restaurant I have been to. We've moved away from Birmingham to be nearer our daughter in Bath. You can't get a decent curry there. My old friend took me here as a treat and it was superb. Lovely staff and super food , next time I come back to Birmingham with my wife I intend to take her here. It wasn't a cheap meal , but it was very good value.

Amazing lunch today (06.06.2024) for my parent’s 54th wedding anniversary! The food was absolutely phenomenal, beef cheek curry, a chicken curry and a veg curry. Great cocktails, and we had superb service from the lovely Nabeel, who even brought out a little celebration gift! Thank you for a wonderful day

Right when we come to Birmingham we expect the best Indian food and curries. Have tried many places in the city and finally had an opportunity to come to Lasan. It’s a great place / a little out of the way of city centre but 5 mins by cab so not too bad. In a newer building, modern decor and very nicely made. The service was fantastic and very good though we went for 6 pm table / and the restaurant was not busy at that time especially mid week. We had the grill platter which was a selection of starters including seafood and meats. Everything was delicious and cooked well. Loved it. For the mains we went with Daal Makhni / Lamb and Methi Chicken. All of them were great/ delicious and authentic. It’s a great place and a definite place for a revisit. Meal for 2 was £150 with a bottle of wine. Verdict 5/5

We had a booking for 9pm on a Friday, so last covers for the evening. The restaurant was packed and had a lovely vibe. Once seated we waited for a long time to get an order in, would have really appreciated a drinks order while we made up our minds on starters and mains. Our starters were absolutely incredible, I wish I could give more than five stars. Our mains were almost as incredible as the starters, a solid five star performance. Now, sadly back to negatives. Not once were we checked upon during the meal. Would have loved a second drink to go with the meal, but the staff was too busy preparing the tables for the next day's service. We sat with empty plates attempting to garner the attention of the staff so we could get a dessert. After fifteen minutes of neglect decided to go to the bar and request our cheque, a sweet treat would need to be acquired elsewhere. Cannot say enough good things about the food, the Kashmiri Lamb I had was absolutely divine and the scallops appetizer even better than that. Just wish the service met with the same standard.

First time we have eaten here, easy booking online via their website. Was greeted at the door and made to feel comfortable straight away, instead of being shown to our table we were offered the bar first, which was perfect for us, had a cobra and a gin cocktail, the cocktail was outstanding a spiced gin with ginger. We decided to have the 6 course taster menu plus the wine flight, the food the service was excellent not rushed with the food and sensible gaps between courses, the wine 🍷 is really nice on the wine flight and completely perfect for the taster menu. The restaurant has great atmosphere and the servers are brill, would I go again most definitely.

We went to Lasan for the first time for my wife's and mother in law's birthday celebrations. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The food was overpriced and the desserts were good. We spent over £400+ and yet the wait staff were not attentive. The wait staff are terrible. We asked for the discretionary tip to be removed from the total. The manager had the audacity to argue with us despite the service being terrible. They also refused to remove the 2 drinks because they were pretty bad. We will not be coming back.

Upon entering we were kindly received, our coats were hung up and then you were kindly taken to your table. We were immediately offered a menu and drinks menu. The food was very tasty and flavorful. Not too spicy, but you can taste the spice. The restaurant has a beautiful interior and everything is nicely laid out. Highly recommended.

Decent up market Indian dining in the jewellery quarter of Birmingham. Service was a little slow but it was quite a busy Saturday evening. Food was fresh, full of flavor and well cooked. You really can taste the difference between Lasan your standard local Indian. For a finer dining Indian experience, check this place out! The mixed grill platter was amazing!

We had a lovely meal at Lasan. The staff were great, special shout out to Nabil who was serving our table and gave recommendations for our dishes. The food was good, decor and atmosphere was inviting and adds to the luxury appeal. Great place for occasions and romantic nights out.

Food was great and well presented. We tried both vegeterian and non-vegeterian options. Beetroot halwa in Dessert is a MUST try. Special mention to Prajna who provided us great service. P.S. They also gave us a complimentary chocolate mousse dessert as we went there for my birthday dinner.

We are so glad we picked Lasan to host our sons baptism reception for friends at family! The venue looked beautiful, and the food from the party banquet menu was incredible, with every dish was cooked to perfection. The Scollops, Keralan Beef Cheeks, and Fenugreek Monkfish were firm favourites with the guests - guests even mentioned it was some of the best Indian food they have had in the UK! As hosts, we had such a seamless experience from the very beginning, the manager Shoaib was very accommodating, even with last minute changes and allergies. The team at Lasan were some of the friendliest and welcoming we’ve met, thankyou all for an evening we will never forget ❤️

We visited as part of a corporate night out, and it was my German colleagues' first curry! We honestly couldn't have chosen a better restaurant. Navil is genuinely the best server I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, I'd offer him a sales job if I were hiring. The food is spectacular, the environment is beautiful, and the staff are brilliant. 20/10.

We voted Lasan as the BEST restaurant we have eaten in our 2 weeks honeymoon in Europe. Every dish burst with a perfectly blend flavor, and we absolutely love our dining experience in Lasan. We ordered soft shell crab (must try!!), tiger prawn, gobi, lamb shank all of which was so delicious. We were super full but can’t resist dessert - sticky date pudding which just hits all the spots. Hand’s down my favourite restaurant in the UK. It reminded me of my favourite restaurant in Mumbai. Such exceptional service!!! They really understand the meaning of hospitality and we were well looked after. We had lamb and biryani and mixed platter. It was all very delicious and hearty. Will keep coming back here!!! 🔥☺️

Attended for a 45th Birthday Dinner. It was nice. My party loved everything they ordered, so that was a plus. It was the largest prawns I've ever seen or had anywhere. The restaurant is a hidden gem if you're an Indian foodie.

We have recently visited this restaurant with an excitement and our expectation was high. The food is average with a high price and quality was low. You can see this quality in a normal takeaway. I believe the price is high when you compare to normal local restaurant where you can see same quality. The atmosphere was normal. The service needs improvement because they should explain the menu and food especially if you have a first visit. Overall I was not pleased.

Visited Lasan for a birthday lunch. I expected it to be very busy, but there were very few diners at the time of sitting, a Friday afternoon. Its a stunningly beautiful space with an interesting layout, set over what seemed to be two floors. The food was excellent. We had the Konkan Crab and Lamb Cutlets to start, followed by the Makhan Chicken and Dhalcha Beef Ghaal for main. Gosh, I'm not sure what they do to this meat in terms of marinade, but I cannot achieve this level of tenderness at home. The Beef Cheek almost fell apart upon me looking at it. Divine. Can't comment on value, since I didn't pay, but in terms of food quality it's definitely up there, far beyond an everyday "ruby". Shout out to Prajna for being a gracious efficient and patient host.

Charged me a cancellation fee even though I'd clearly cancelled the future booking with their concierge whilst dining there at the time.

The staff there were very friendly and welcoming. The food is a bit mixed in terms of quality, the saunaf chicken starter and the bombay mess dessert were really nice, but the makhan chicken main was a bit of a let down. Overall I think it's is a bit overpriced for the standard of food, and it feels like there has been a decline in the food served since the first time we came a few years back.

Don't be fooled by the four pound signs against the cost of this place. My partner and I are vegetarian and paid around £40 for our meals and drinks. The food is very reasonably priced, especially for vegetable dishes. The chap serving us was incredibly kind and attentive. We would love to come here again next time we're in Birmingham. Would highly recommend for veggies and meat eaters alike 🌈

An awful day at the so called LASAN. Booked a table for a valentines day. Went there for a morning valentine meal but decided to have only drinks. The staff then comes up and treated us awfully where we had the bartender give drinks and then asks us to order food instantly. When explained that we don't feel like eating but we are happy with the drinks, the next waiter then marches towards our table telling us the tables are booked for food only and that we are wasting their space if we only take drinks. With an empty restaurant he says we are very busy and don’t think they can only serve us drinks. Such a money making mindset i would not recommend this place to anyone. They don’t know how to speak or allow their customers choice. If you are willing to be bossed around this place is perfect for you. Ridiculously bad service and unmannered staff!!!!

Great place, my 2nd visit. Some great dishes, especially those included in the chef's recommended / taster menu. Excellent customer service, include a courtesy call to ask me to come back and collect something really important I had left behind. A couple of noise tables spoil a little the great ambience and cool music, but if you have with you your own favourite company who cares?

Chosen for a family birthday dinner, this place was far from disappointing. We chose the party menu at £49 per head where each person chooses a main and dessert but the starters are all shared. I chose the Goat Biryani which has to be the best biryani that I have ever tasted. I sampled the Beef Cheeks on my wife's plate and they too were beyond delicious. The desserts were equally toothsome and finished up a fantastic meal overall. Highly recommend.

Won't be returning anytime soon. My son and I went there for lunch on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant was very quiet and we were seated near the front window. The first thing I noticed was a hole in the leather seat, so not a great start. A visit to the toilet revealed one urinal out of order and lots of fluid on the floor. We opted for the 7 course tasting menu and I also had the wine tasting menu. Although the waiter was pleasant and he said there was a sommelier on duty, not 1 single dish or wine accompaniment was explained to us. I've had tasting menus before, but this one should be called the 'mystery tasting menu' Also the wine glasses were poured to the bare minimum and again, I haven't a clue what they were !! I'm a diabetic so told the waiter in advance I would not eat a sweet course, at the end a sweet course was brought out for my son and I was given 'sorry there's nothing for you with a smile'. I asked was there maybe a savoury dish I could have instead and 5 mins later 2 onion bhajis appeared, wow, it looked like that'd come from the local takeaway!!! All this, for the unbelievable price of £217.75, I honestly felt like I'd been mugged. I've eaten many tasting menus, ofen been amazed what some chefs can do with food and with a 5 star dining experience. Following payment the waiter made a big push for us to rate the experience and him personally. I won't name him, he was a nice enough guy but, this was without doubt the biggest culinary disappointment I've ever experience and I will never recommend or go back. Such a shame 1 star at best.

Excellent food and very good service. We wish we had asked to be sat at a different table as we were sat in the main dining room with some very loud groups. If we had asked, I'm sure the staff would have accommodated us.

We had a lovely meal. Food was superb. The only thing was that it was freezing inside (we visited the restaurant mid January) We asked the staff to turn on the heating, not sure if they did as it was still freezing. When we were leaving we realised they had the front door open! I’m not sure why you would keep an open door in January 👎 slightly strange. Apart fro that everything was great.

Were seated quickly and constantly attended throughout the set meal. Apart from the slightly strange entree (which was something pastry and chick pea based!) the rest of the meal was amazing. Family outing prior to Christmas and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Ambience stylish relaxed and the attentive but unobtrusive service was just right. Pre dinner drinks excellently mixed at the bar, The food was sensational and the platters for starters afforded a delightful combination of flavours. Our guests from London were surprised that there appeared to be some free tables. We will certainly return and perhaps leave some spaces to sample the puddings.

First visit for our work Christmas meal. Absolutely fabulous! The food was honestly out of this world. Delightfully, delectably, delicious! I cannot recommend it highly enough. Amazing food here!! Tasting menu was sublime! Really tasty food. I would recommend the tasting menu for sure.. great dishes and well worth the price! We left pretty full and very happy. Ace place to go! Only slight thing would be staff hang about in doorways waiting for you to finish.. however wasn’t a busy night in the establishment.. will go back again soon! Thanks guys!

Had the taster menu with wines and really enjoyed it. Hopefully I will get to go back and try the standard menu as some of the meals I saw and could smell also looked great

Was running very late due to traffic but staff were really understanding, Food was excellent and service was great!

I expected better, firstly there was a hair in our starters. Which got changed. We were told we had to order our starters and mains together before they could put the order through. The same chicken meat which was in the starters was basically used in the mains and nicely placed in different sauces? The waiter even confirmed it was the same chicken we had in the starters. Won’t be going there again.

What a super Indian restaurant. Great décor, staff, service, atmosphere and food! Recommend highly, we'll be back. We really enjoyed the sharing plates for starters.

Too salty food and cocktails very basic. There is potential there but not really worth it at that price.
