As soon as we heard that L’Artisan was now offering takeaways, we decided to eat together with friends, socially distanced of course! It was amazing. Three of us had excellent moules with breadcrumbs in parsley butter. One chose the tartlet. Three absolutely divine Atlantic fish stew with ratatouille and carrots/mangetout garnish followed and one person had the Boeuf Bourgignon, which he also praised highly. We had some bread available for mopping up sauce though I made extra sure of not missing a drop by using my finger as well. Good thing we were with friends - though with food as good as this, I’d have done it in the restaurant, too! We ended with the Racecourse Horsechoux, a new invention of Yves’ and a real triumph of ingenuity and taste: scrummy crunchy praline in a horseshoe shaped choux bun topped with a nutty cream and a horseshoe shaped piece of dark chocolate. What’s more, the meal was extremely affordable at under £40 for two people. We shall do it lots more and tell our friends. We put the containers for the hot food in a low oven as advised whilst we had our aperitifs and everything kept beautifully warm. We’re looking forward to seeing what’s available next week.

Another great meal. 3rd time here, each time has been faultless , from the food, to the service and the skill of the staff. I had scallop and prawn starter, seabass main and crepes to finish, hubby had pork starter and lamb main. All stunning dishes

We met in Cheltenham 50 years ago and just happened to be back in the town on Valentine's Day. Thanks to the Tripadvisor reviews we found this restaurant, obviously very popular as it was full. They managed to find a table for two, and we ordered to fixed price lunch menu. No expense spared! Excellent food and waiters. The chef even came out to chat at tables after service had finished. We will go back, but maybe not wait another 50 years!

Indian Brasserie

15/03/2020: Booked in advance as racing was on and a bit disappointed with the table next to door & beside a group of loud yobs we had just escaped from at racecourse so moved to back of restaurant which is really dark, diners using IPhone torch to read menus One guy in our group loved his meal, one ok & mine Lamb Madras I found to be too watery & when you added the rice it was like a risotto Nan was nice, beer reasonably priced & service ok, clean & smart, think I just choose wrong
21/01/2020: We really enjoyed our meal here. We hadn't visited for some years and can't believe we have been missing out on such lovely food and pleasant service. I had the vegetarian and my wife chicken biryani. The man bread was light and a perfect texture.

Hotel Du Vin

01/03/2020: We went for sunday lunch and were not disappointed. Four courses of exceptional food.Very good choices, something for everyone.Staff brilliant, ambience very good. Will go again.
26/01/2020: Seven of us for a 60th birthday celebration. Bar is very comfortable and the restaurant very smart. All of us enjoyed our menu selections and the service, if a little slow at times was generally OK. Reasonable value at £80 per head including drinks and service charge
