We've missed the restaurants and cafes so much these pasty few months, so it was fab to be back at l'Artisan for a set menu for lunch. Yves the chef changes the menu every few weeks, selecting a different French region each time. This time we were back in Normandy for pork and pears and cream! As always, the food was perfectly flavoured and the service is impeccable and friendly and the restaurant is tucked away just off the High Street in the middle of our splendid town. And because the menu changes so regularly, we can go back soon and try something else out!

We decided to go for our anniversary. We did not tell them as we were just looking for a good meal and what a delight it was. The amuse bouche, the bread the food and the service all were a delight. Real French conversation if you wanted it and all so friendly. Covid precautions were good and did not impinge on the event. We were so impressed we have booked again.

Indian Brasserie

13/09/2020: Had a delicious meal with great recommendations from Dada the Maitre’d. Prawn starter was delicious as were the two recommended curries. Tables were apart and guests socially distanced.
02/08/2020: Ate here as a group of 5 when visiting family in the area. The tables have been set out with care to give space between groups, there were a few tables in and a roaring takeaway trade.Service was friendly, attentive and prompt but not rushed.Between us we had a broad range of starters, mains and sides, from some very traditional favourites to some that we had never tried before. Without exception they were beautifully flavoured and well presented. As a vegetarian I found the choice great, I had onion Bhaji followed by a chilli paneer dish - both were fab. The rice portions were generous (one easily fed two) and the naan were light and fluffy. Each of us enjoyed our meal and left full and happy - can’t ask for more than that! My only regret is it’s not my local as I would definitely be a regular visitor!

Hotel Du Vin

03/08/2020: We decided to book Hotel du vin in Cheltenham as a stay to celebrate our wedding that should've took place that day.We thoroughly enjoy our moments here, and often eat Sunday Roast as a special treat, or a date night. So we pushed the boat out, and booked the junior suite for a nights stay.We were not surprised to walk into the room and see the high standards we always receive from the hotel. The room was very large, plenty of space. Two roll top baths facing the windows, with the sun shinning through, a large king sized bed, lovely decor, and a walk in shower (heaven). The thing for us both during this stay, was the waiting staff, they made this evening away such a pleasure. So helpful, pleasant, and under so much pressure, but yet remained professional, and always a smile. The Coffee machine had broke down for morning breakfast, and they were quick to replenish this with fresh coffee from the kitchen. We would both like to stay "Thank you" to the waiting staff, and bar man on Saturday the 1st August 2020. You made our should've, would've day special. We hope you are all acknowledged for what you do.
