Avoid macaroni cheese. The sauce is runny and grainy, obviously made with coated grated cheese out of a packet. Paninis are good. Cakes are good. Service normally is good

What a great friendly cafe. Plenty to choose from on the menu, from cake, to sandwiches and toasties, to hot meals and soup. Excellent price, excellent service. Clean facilities, outdoor seating and parking.

You can get here from Dundee on the 42A bus which stops almost outside. Attended a glass-based craft course in the centre and used the cafe only to buy a can of Diet Coke. It was convenient and the staff were friendly.

Have been to this cafe several times and not had any issues, however on this visit it wasn’t the best. I’ve been vegan now for over 2 years due to health (dairy is an issue for me) and other reasons. I asked to have a hummus and salad sandwich and was told that was fine. I asked if the soup was vegan and was told yes then I asked for a hazelnut milk latte or if there was no hazelnut milk I’ll have oat milk. I was served my meal, I asked if the coleslaw was vegan, girl said no and took it away to get it changed. No salad on my sandwich (charged for hummus and salad sandwich £6) however, I put the lettuce side salad on it. Soup was nice maybe a little small for £2 charge. latte tasted of hazelnut so assumed it was a good sweetened hazelnut milk. Paid got receipt and it stated latte with hazelnut syrup. I queried it and it was a cows milk latte I was served with hazelnut syrup. They are very fortunate I don’t have a severe allergy to dairy milk. I am very upset by this experience and was refunded my coffee only with an apology. The refund was rushed like they were in a hurry for me to leave. These things shouldn’t happen especially when vegan is mentioned and when milk alternatives are asked for. Staff training is maybe needed to avoid these errors.

The Larick Centre and Cafe are a great asset to Tayport and a great achievement for the local community for raising the funds to have it built. The facilities provide a wonderful resource for the people of the area. The cafe has a nice welcoming atmosphere and provides a good choice of food on the menu, using quality ingredients. It has friendly and helpful staff. A nice relaxing environment for having a chat with friends and family. The type of place you want to go back to on a regular basis.

We went for lunch twice here whilst visiting the area because we enjoyed it the first time so much. The menu is great, priced well and the food was out quickly and presented really nicely. The workers were helpful at getting us a table and taking our order. The cakes also looked really tasty.

The Larick Cafe has been on my radar for a while so I was very excited to take my family and see what all the hype was about. I have only been to a few eating establishments since the world has been allowed to return to some kind of normality so this venture out into the unknown was not taken lightly. Upon entering the Larick cafe my family and I were greeted by one of their staff who politely but firmly told us to scan to a track and trace QR code. While it was nice to see covid safety measures were being taken seriously I did find it slightly odd that some of my children were asked to scan even though we all belonged to the same household. Anyways, I digress, we were promptly shown to our table and our Larick’s adventure was about to begin. The Larick’s selection of sweet and savoury options had us spoilt for choice. My little bambino’s were simply thrilled with the sweet treats that were being offered up to them, all just an order away. A server came and asked us what we wished to dine on today and the ordering began. Although a few of the options advertised on the menu were not available (I’m aware of the cafes popularity amongst the community so this was not surprising, we were dining in one of Tayport’s buzzing hot spots after all) we all managed to find something to quench our appetites. I have to commend the serving team’s efforts. They were attentive and were not at all afraid to charm us with their local banter. While our food was being prepared I couldn’t help but notice one of the few faults of the Larick’s Cafe: the atmosphere. The Cafe is housed in a beautiful modern, functionalism style building with floor to wall windows that of course lend themselves in helping a powerful stream of natural lighting into the Cafe while allowing patrons a view of the local scenery which quite frankly leaves a lot to be desired. While composing this review I have wracked my brain to try and find the words to describe the atmosphere in the Larick’s Cafe and the only comparison I could make is to that of a waiting room in my local GP. It felt like I was waiting for the results of a test that could drastically change my life and for the Larick’s Cafe? The results weren’t looking promising. My family and I could overhear some of the staff (a manager I believe) talking about various topics that really offered us a look into the running of the Cafe. A peek behind the curtains if you will. While this wasn’t a major issue it did lend itself to some awkward moments especially when the staff were complaining about others abilities. I don’t think this is an issue that couldn’t be solved with a bit of music playing in the background to add a little ambience but I digress. The food itself was pretty standard. To say we were taken on a culinary journey would of course be an overstatement but that does not mean we didn’t enjoy our meals. It did what it needed to, it kept my little munchkins satisfied and I managed to have a few moments of peace while they nibbled on their sweet treats. Overall my experience at the Larick’s Cafe was a mostly average one. Do I see a Michelin Star in their future? Not likely. However, this doesn’t matter as the Larick’s Cafe has the charm and attitude of a bustling local hub that’s providing a service to those who need it.

Good enough food and lots of cakes and coffee. Good prices but there is a big shortage of seats outside given its the summer now.

My first foray out after the isolation of a winter spent in lockdown. A line of people waiting for their vaccines was a welcome sight, heralding the possibility of a return to some sort of normality. The cafe was very well spaced out and table service ensured that physical distancing was maintained. There had been no need to make a reservation and my friend had already selected a table by the window, by the time I arrived. A pleasant view across the tent pitches of the newly constructed campsite towards the coastal path and the sea. Freshly baked cheese scones and hot drinks and a chance to blether in the light and airy cafe was a real tonic.

This is the best coffee shop in St Andrews - but only in terms of the coffee and the food. I love the drinks and the bagels especially are *french kiss* but I would love to be able to come and sit, and enjoy my bagel at a table. The issue is that the already limited seating is taken up by students who have pretty much always finished their drinks. I really think it would be a good idea to have maybe half of the seats reserved for people who just want to come and sit for 10 minutes to have a drink because the shop itself is so nice and clearly very well finished. As a student myself I know there are plenty of study spaces in town so a study free area surely wouldn't meet much resistance? I for one would visit the cafe much more often, instead of just for takeaways. That said, the staff are amazing and the coffee is superb.

My husband and I visited here today and ordered a cup of spicy lentil soup and a sandwich cost £10 each. The food arrived and my cup of soup was only half full and my husband's 3/4 full.I took my soup back and was told you only get one ladle.I said it should be a cupful as stated but was told no.I went back to my seat but was livid as I hate to be ripped off.I asked for the manager and the guy on the till said I will give you more soup which he did.The soup was lovely and the sandwiches also good made with lovely bread. The guy came over to take the plates and said he was sorry he upset me and I said you didn't upset me and I had been annoyed at being done.He apologised and offered me a free lunch.I advised I am only here for the day.The next thing he was back with 2 sweets in a box with forks and napkins to eat later.I thanked him for the cakes. We had them with coffee later on and delicious. I don't know the guys name but you have restored my faith in humanity and the cafe.We will visit again and encourage others to do so also.Thank you for your understanding.

Fabulous find on our way from East Lothian up to Dundee. Lunch was delicious. I had the Light and tasty batter on the Haddock. Great chunky chips and peas. Very friendly staff and customers. Wish this was near our wee golf course in Musselburgh. 😉 Will stop by again if we are in Ladybank for sure. Thanks Kirsty,Phil and Theo.
