Have only been for Lunch & Dinner on a few occasions, service is very good, food is fine and prices in line with other established pubs and restaurantscin Belfast.

Lovely place right on a bus route into the city centre

We had our wedding party at the Lansdowne over the weekend and it was truly magical. The bridal suite is just WOW 🤩 honestly I was sold the moment I saw it. The room for the party is gorgeous as well and needed very little decor! The food got soooo many compliments (my brother said the gyros were better than the ones he had in Greece 😂). The staff are absolutely fantastic, from start to finish, they couldn’t have been more accommodating and they even found a missing guest who had stumbled off during the night, and away from the hotel - genuinely going above and beyond. I’m not sure many other (if any) hotels would go to the lengths they went to. Special mention to Colleen who is honestly an absolute gem. She made sure everything went perfectly and did not stop the whole night!! The best in the business!

Maybe I overstated on location but if you want to be in North Belfast near the Zoo and less than 15 minutes drive from the City Centre, this is perfect. If on the east side of the Hotel you have views of Belfast Lough. Very friendly staff and book direct your breakfast is thrown in which for the two of us was a third of the room cost

First time we have stayed in this little gem of a hotel. Such good value, and the Tayto crisps in the room each day is a lovely touch. Good food and helpful friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend. We had family join us for breakfast, staff were so accommodating. Our 2 year old great nieces food choices were catered for. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic

We love this gem of a hotel on the outskirts of Belfast. The atmosphere in the bar restaurant has been brilliant every time. Even when we stayed on a Tuesday night. All the staff are always friendly. Book direct for lots of perks. Rooms are decent - I love the rituals toiletries and provided face wipe. Fantastic for a fun date night. Breakfast is brilliant. Dinner is good quality pub cuisine.

Just back from a lunch with friends at the Lansdowne..calamity. I don't get why people work in hospitality when they obviously aren't feeling it. From the moment we were seated, there were issues. Having pre-booked, we were seated in a draughty corner beside till while 2/3 of the restaurant was empty. The computer had allocated our table and only the manager could override that ? Reseated in the only other available option, under a music speaker, we couldn't hear each other shout....again, only the manager could lower the volume , and wasn't the inclined to do so. Finally reseated again (why do seats and tables like these exist in restaurants?...answer to cram every available square inch , irrespective of comfort or enjoyment) , the meal was ordered. Fair enough food, nothing special. I get that hospitality staff work long hours, especially at holiday times, but this experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. And memorable enough to trigger a review .. Lansdowne is usually a nice spot, today they got it badly wrong.

Lovely stay, staff friendly, room comfy and bar area nice too, downside room window didn't close properly so was noisy at times, no coffee in the room, told to ring any time to get one brought up, rang a few times and no answer so no coffee

We booked a table for a relaxed family Sunday lunch at 2pm. Upon arrival my 23 year old son and I asked to be seated while we waited on the rest of our family arriving only to be told that we couldn't eat there as my son was wearing track bottoms and that breached their dress policy. This happened as men walked past us wearing shorts and trainers - in November. When I complained to reception staff, I was rudely and abruptly told that my family wasn't being refused, just my son, 'who's welcome to go home, change and come back '. I appreciate that some establishments have dress policies and that's well within their right. However, let common sense prevail. Its not high end dining here, and nor was it a night out. My son is a well mannered young adult who wanted to have a casual Sunday lunch with his family. Young people wear track bottom and this hotel is making a judgement on individuals by what style of trousers they choose to wear instead of how they conduct themselves. Also, this should have been made clear when I made my phone booking the previous day . The incident was embarrassing for my family, especially in a casual dining bar/restaurant setting that promotes itself on their website as 'lunches, munches,boozy brunches'. Needless to say my whole family left and our celebration cancelled. We will never be back. Show less

Was there on Sunday and was not one bit happy had to keep geting up and asking for things . They had give us no kids menu No salt or pepper for are table No knife or fork for the mean course after haven a starter No spoon for my soup plus no sauce for my niece after asking for it Asked for extra for my son which toke about 20mins for one saucge to go with his dinner The service was really bad u where just left .Give us the wrong bill aswell .Will not be back there

So, the Lansdowne Hotel is a good little find if you want a simple and well-located place. It's super close to the city center, so super convenient. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere relaxed. It's not great luxury, but for the price, honestly, it's worth it for a stay in the city without breaking the bank!

Food is extremely good....staff very friendly and helpful. You would need a taxi to get into the centre.

Outside space is great for an outdoor pint , young staff are very efficient and super friendly. Fist time here ,will definitely be back .

Was there at a christening with a party of 20 for a meal, the menu didn't have many options so the majority of guests ordered chicken burgers and fish with chips, the chicken burgers were very dry and the fish had been battered and cooked from frozen which made it very watery and the chips that came with the fish were so dry and crispy they could have broke your teeth, every meal had the same issues.

I didn’t stay at the hotel but had Sunday lunch and was served by Lyndsey. So helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A real credit to the restaurant. Made us so welcome. Thank you so much you are one in a million

Three of us ordered this afternoon. I had the Coley fish, which was ok the bacon was burnt. The other meals were OKthe chips were definitely warmed back up in the fryer. The 3 desserts were awful the sticky toffee pudding in particular, was dry.

A fantastic addition to the Antrim Road. The new Lansdowne is classy, modern with real cool vibes. Food and decor are superb with a real down to earth team looking after you. With a great variation in entertainment. Why taxi into town ???

Food was good,cocktails very good,the only downside is that the staff seemed to be in a hurry to free my table once I sat down,I booked and paid for the meal so please,let me finish when I'm ready to finish.

Lovely place for lunch, highly recommend

Have stayed here twice and intend to again. Staff were excellent, always very friendly and helpful. They let me check-in a couple of hours early, which was a nice touch. Food was very good. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Parking was plentiful. Exceptional value.

There was a party at the hotel. It was so loud until 2 a.m. that sleep was impossible. But according to the employees there at the hotel, that's nothing special. The breakfast buffet is poor.

Cuando mi comida llegó me presentaron una pieza de una pechuga de pollo seca muy pequeña, un poco de col y patatas fritas. Me quejé al gerente de que esto no era lo suficientemente bueno, así que regresó con otro pedazo de pollo seco pequeño. Mi marido tiene 4 alitas de pollo y patatas fritas. Y por esto costó 32 libras. Nunca volveré por comida de nuevo. Completamente repugnante y muy insatisfactorio que piensen que esto es lo suficientemente bueno para servir a la gente.

We got to stay in the suite which was incredible a very luxurious room! The staff were very friendly and made us feel so welcomed We loved the hotel bar, it was by far the nicest hotel bar we’ve been in with a very lively atmosphere, the live music was great, cocktails were so delicious as was the food! The location is great, in a quiet area and only 10minute drive from the city centre.

We have been to many hotels and this hotel has been up there as one of the best hotels we have visited ever. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, quick service, comfy rooms, yummy food and cocktails. The standard is very high and be definitely back soon

Service was superb, food was fresh and tasty, and there was a lovely sunflower placed delightfully on the centre of the table.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff so helpful and friendly. Rooms modern and comfortable. I strongly recommend dining in the bar, we received vouchers for one free drink each, food was delicious and there was a great atmosphere here, the booths are very well decorated. Try the Beamish.

Can only comment on food. My brother and his family where staying from England. We went to meet them at the hotel for drinks and something to eat. Drinks okay can't go wrong there, but the food was not nice each one of our dishes not nice. Meats over cooked and dry, chips hard as a rock very disappointed. Money wasted there where seven of so not cheap. Service very slow for drinks and food

Hard to get a Caesar salad wrong but this was basically a bowl of lettuce. Ordered 2 halloumi salads for myself and my Mum, firstly it came with practically no dressing, when I asked for more I got garlic mayo. There didn’t appear to be much halloumi but I thought perhaps it was below the lettuce and the very few croutons… I was wrong. There was 3 slivers of halloumi! The parmesan wasn’t much better. The waitress then asked if everything was ok, I said (nicely) that the salad had very little halloumi, dry and overall disappointing. She smiled and walked away and only returned when I asked for the bill. Disappointing!!

Visited for my partner’s birthday in Feb 2024 and we have been back multiple times. I have delayed writing this review because I keep meaning to find out the blonde lady’s name. (Manager) for my partners birthday we were a big party and we were mental. This didn’t stop the one of the best services I have ever had. The food has always been incredible I could not fault, the cocktails are amazing and the staff follow suit. I am lactose intolerant and they always have a range of dishes to choose from. Some of our more recent visits we have taken my mother in law in a wheel chair. Matthew has always gone the extra mile trying to make us comfortable, I am ashamed to call such a professional manager the blonde lady. She is amazing at taking orders with a sense of humour that makes us all chuckle. Friendly, professional, polite and very good menu that changes with the seasons. We met friends there for Christmas who were home from England and your seasonal loaded fries are now internationally famous. I can not recommend this place enough.

Just returned home to Southampton after having Two fantastic days in Belfast. The Lansdowne hotel was excellent, food, drink, room and the staff were so friendly, they made you feel very welcome. I will be back and highly recommend to anyone needing a hotel. Mr Tonner x

Highly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to visit Belfast. 5* is probably an understatement. We stayed here 3 nights early March 2024. No road noise, No Bar noise even though they had live entertainment every night. Food was so amazing, that we ate here breakfast and evening meal. Staff were all very friendly and although no kettle in the room, dial 0 and get costa delivered from the Bar very quickly at anytime day or night, all complimentary to guests. We went to Titanic experience, which was totally amazing, we did the Goal experience and the Black Taxi Tour which was such an eye opener, to what happened during troubled times. Quick Taxi booked by the hotel and just over 10 minutes and we were in Belfast city centre, £8 which is very reasonable, even the return late evening was the same. We will definitely be returning later in the summer as there is more we want to do, and will definitely be staying at The Lansdown Hotel. This review may sound like i work there but no, this is the first time we had been here but will NOT be the last. Very pleased. Note, I am disabled, there is a lift up to the rooms, the main reception and Bar is all accessible, I had Zero issues, and there are a number of disabled parking bays, as well as plenty of regular parking. We travelled by Stenna Ferry, from Cairnryan, Scotland, which added to the amazing Belfast trip, so was like a mini cruise ship with all the facilities. Perfect mini break .

Completely overpriced bar food. £100 for a family of four for one course only. Service really slow. Won't be back. For burgers go to the burger club on the Cliftonville Rd. Fraction of the price and not grizzly like here. Complete waste of money.

My mum passed away suddenly and I needed to book a venue for after the funeral service at short notice and was a Saturday. I rang the main number and they took my number. Within a few mins I got a call from Janette , what an amazing Lady!! She sorted everything out for me and the room and food were perfect Everyone was really impressed.. I would like to thank Janette She is a rare find I hope the owners appreciate such a great staff member 👍

Very friendly lady at the reception desk. Also friendly at the bar. Im 6'6 and the bathroom was a bit small. The hallways to get to the rooms were small and hard to move around in with bags for me. Also, there are a few stains on the bed sheets but overall very comfortable bed and clean room.

The restaurant manager came over placed a card on our table at 7.30pm informing us that the table was now booked and we had 20 mins to leave our table. I was then informed that every other table was booked for food, which it clearly wasn't. The manager made no attempt to accommodate us in any way, a night cut short. If the Ldowne is a restaurant, make it clear to avoid people like myself walking in for a drink to have their night ruined.

Great night at the bar until dinner was served, served out of date fish which was replaced with a new meal we went to our room and were accused of smoking in a non smoking room The bar services was next to none but the bouncers were a disgrace will not be back!!

AVOID. The food is quite basic , yet very expensive. My partner had a vegetarian option that was cold and small in portion, she was left hungry. The desserts were ok at best. Service was pleasant but very hard to find, we went on a Sunday and while busy wasn’t rammed. If it had been better value I wouldn’t be writing this review, but as it stands we will not be returning. We last came in March 2020, and it was diabolical, we had heard it had got better but not worth a third visit.

We ate in the bar rather than restaurant. I cab see the attraction given the all night entertainment but we were sat at a long table right in front of the stage. It was loud and hard to speak to each other during dinner though good after dinner was over. The table also feels like you're somewhat in the way of people moving around. We were a bit late being seated (booked for 7pm, seated by 7.10pm). We waited at least 20 min for our food order to be taken and food did not arrive until 8.40pm. I've never waited so long for food. They said sorry, we had a table of 40 to serve before you. We were a table of 13. I had fish and chips. The batter on the fish was lovely. The 10 chips we a stingy serving. O would rather have real mushy peas than a line of green liquid on my plate. And there was no lemon as stated. My husband's pepper sauce was lovely but the serving didn't look like very much and his steak was cold. All in all I find the food to be over priced. Particularly for steaks. A box of cutlery was set at one end of the table rather than at each seat so food got cold while all of that was passed around. No drinks were offered at all yet servers were going to other tables. The car parking is awful. They really need more. Overall I find the Landsdowne over rated for food but can see its a good spot for the music

If your thinking of having a Xmas work dinner here think again absolutely terrible from the start we got to our table at 7pm and eventually finished eating a 3 course meal at 10.30 not only was some of the food wrong but also cold aswel, we opted for drinks instead of an over night stay that didn't happen, drink was spilt on a dinner by accident and the manger wasn't going to change it even tho one of our party didn't turn up so technically there was a dinner spare for our table, entertainment was also shocking no Xmas music etc while dinner wad being served. Over all seems like staff didn't have a clue what they were doing, im not a fussy person but this was the worst Xmas Dinner set up I have been too AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I’ll start with the good! Went for a catch up with friends, menu limited, but food was beautiful (sweet potato wedges are stunning), atmosphere cosy and pleasant, the guy serving the drinks to the table was so friendly and a good laugh! However, one member of staff let the whole place down which is so sad. From the moment she sat us at the table, it was as if we were one big giant inconvenience. As soon as we sat “any drinks?” to which we asked for a drinks menu “we don’t have one”, “ehh not even a cocktail menu?” She got us a cocktail menu and stood over the table while we tried to read it and decide - awkward. Every interaction with her after was just the same, awkward, miserable, unfriendly. yet the other staff were all funny, happy and pleasant (thank you!). The bill was then dumped on our table by the same staff member without even asking for it, we wanted another round of drinks and had to ask the friendly bar guy “are we ok to order another drink” confused as to why we felt we were being rushed out (still plenty of people in the restaurant). He let us know it was not a problem and happy to get us another round. As we chatted with our last drinks the miserable staff member came over with the card machine, with a not so subtle “pay your bill” again still plenty of people still in the restaurant. This just made all of us a little flustered and awkward and her general “why am I here attitude” unnecessary. If your going to work in hospitality be hospitable! For me this would really put me off going back to the restaurant, which is a shame as the food was decent and all the other staff pleasant and warm.

The worst experience I've ever had waited for aver an hour for the staff too take our order for drinks the food was the worst food I've ever had prawns were disgusting had the flank steak frites. Was absolutely disgusting tasted like I'd drank a bottle of vinegar they had marinated it in balsamic vinegar how any chef would think putting balsamic vinegar on steak would be palatable obviously doesn't have a clue what there doing .they really need to change there menu and get themselves a good restaurant manager . Needless to say I won't be going back for a meal and would not recommend to friends

The manager of this place violently threatened me, got in my face and spoke very rudely towards me… wrongfully accusing me of an incident with her staff, which when I asked where are the cameras as this never happened she got more aggressive toned towards me, this manager had shouted at me, while she was shouting she had spat on me and wouldn’t let me speak to express my side of what happened the previous time I was there ( which there was no altercation neither had I spoken with ‘her staff’). She singled me out the first time I was there and when I had went yesterday she done the same thing. Both times this woman who I do not know has targeted me simply because I am transgender. Hateful, bullying, aggressive staff at this hotel… may I add I have been getting stalking for 4 years by one of her members of staff who I was raped by (which I’ve never said about until now) and all she had to say is ‘he is not apart of this’. RAPISTS, BULLIES, HOMOPHOBIC AND TRANSPHOBIC PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO WORK IN PUBLIC

Where do I start? My mum booked here for a meal Sunday 9th of October for a table of 14 for Sunday dinner We went here to check it out as my brother and his fiance wanted to get married here as it is local etc safe to say we ran a mile and would never return We arrived where seated by staff Gave our order after we asked the waiter to take it and the food arrived an hour later most meals were cold I went to the loo and the tap exploded all over my clothes resulting in being absolutely drenched I made a complaint about the tap and my clothes being drenched a girl waiter laughed and said what tap which I explained to her she replied on right and walked off! We asked for dessert menu and then decided we would leave My mum made a compliant on the way out and the recipients said to my mum there is no way you waited an hour! Their attitudes are stinking and we will never return Definitely do NOT recommend this hotel Shame really as we never complain but this hotel has rude staff with slow service and they clearly do not know how to handle a complaint! We will never be back!!

Brought a friend for a meal, had battered haddock which would've broken the windows if thrown. Friend had veg cauliflower with chips, bland. Staff were great, we complained but no outcome. Very disappointed

Booked a table for 4 for a Sunday before Christmas and when we got to the door were advised there was a limited menu as there was an issue in the kitchen. We had no where else to go so agreed to go ahead with the booking. An hour and 10 minutes later we got our dinner. 3 burgers and chips that were fine and chicken with mashed potatoes, onion rings and pepper sauce. This dish had obviously been sitting for a while as the edges of the chicken were dry and the sauce had dried around the edge of the bowl that the meal was served in. We decided not to complain as we had waited so long, however I then noticed there was bacon in the mash....as I don't eat red meat I definitely wouldn't have ordered this. I spoke to a staff member who brought me a new fresh meal minus the bacon. A few days later I emailed to say we should have been given the option to rebook earlier when they realised there was an issue and never got a reply. I remailed a few weeks later and am still waiting. Today we thought we would try again....won't be back. Front of house staff all lovely and very busy. My chicken burger was cold and the chips were overcooked. 2nd chance was given and there won't be a third.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at The Lansdowne Hotel. The breakfast was really good and plenty of it, great staff - really friendly, vibrant bar and good drink selection with live music in the evening, tasty evening meal. Room was comfortable with selection of toiletries- only slight negative was slightly dated room and cleaning not tip top.

Visited Landsdowne Hotel on Saturday 19/2/22 with family. Excellent food, great cocktails and entertainment first class! We all had a very enjoyable afternoon/night and will definitely be back for more. Very relaxed atmosphere and great staff!

So last Thursday evening after a local horse riding session with my 2 daughters we stopped here for some food. I have been a customer of the Lansdowne, old and new, for about 12 years. It's was 6:05 in the evening. My daughters are 9 and 10. We were excited as the small plates we had 2 weeks before were fab. On arrival to the bar we waited to be seated. A dark skinned waiter approached us. I said we wanted a table for the 3 of us for bar food. He then proceeded to go over and chat to a young blonde lady (I think she was a manager/supervisor). We stood a good 6/7 minutes while he faffed about talking to all the staff. I felt like we were 3 aliens or something standing there. He returned and refused us a table because of my daughter's. Stating that "because of them" (while pointing his finger) we would have to eat in the restaurant. I stated that we come at this time most Thursdays after horse riding. Also I might add that there was a boy no more than 10 EATING in the bar. Now I have been born and bred in Ireland and never in my life have I heard of someone been turned away at 6 o clock for food. I do not drink nor are my girls ever brought in the company of alcohol. The atmosphere was purely people eating at that time. We visited purely for our dinner. Do u have a no children policy at 6pm? We were so embarrassed and my daughter cried her eyes out in the car. It was shameful and uncalled for the way it was handled.
