Awful service from checking in to checking out. Disappointing food with very sub-standard ingredients and care and attention from cooking to serving.

This was a last minute booking and we are pleased with everything about the hotel. The location provided two easy walks around the island, enjoying nature and the sea air. The service at the hotel was excellent and food was very tasty and well presented A special mention should go to Dan in the restaurant who was polite, funny, professional and a credit to your team.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. What I experienced at this hotel was absolutely disgusting. At 11pm, as I was getting into bed, I pulled back the duvet to find used, bloody tissues beneath it. It was deeply unsettling, cost us a night of proper sleep, and left us questioning the most basic hygiene standards. According to the hotel, the room had supposedly been cleaned — but if that’s the case, how were contaminated tissues still in the bed?!?! Either the beds weren’t stripped at all, or the standards of cleanliness are so poor that this filth was somehow overlooked. I don’t know if this was a mistake by the cleaning staff, but if it wasn’t, it points to outright negligence and a complete failure in hygiene and guest care. To be fair, the manager Jack has been professional and responsive throughout, and I appreciate the way he has handled communication. However, I am entirely upset that I’ve only been offered a partial refund or a free stay. That is completely inadequate given the seriousness of what happened. A full refund should be the minimum response to a situation this appalling. I’ll be speaking with the deputy owner on Monday to push for what is fair - a full refund. Based on this experience, I won’t be returning — and I would seriously reconsider booking if you’re expecting even basic standards of cleanliness.

We stayed one night at this hotel and I thought that I'd add a quick review here. The place really needs modernising as the carpets and building are pretty shabby and look worn out. It gives the hotel a strange atmosphere as if we'd clambered through a worm-hole in time back to 1975. However, the room was comfortable and warm. I certainly can't fault it on that front although the view of the car park was less than stunning. If you stand in just the right spot and squint a bit, you can see the harbour. It was there....somewhere. OK, let's get on to the staff. Helpful and friendly people throughout. Good on them all... The food...let's talk about the food. It was smashing. Really, I thought that it would be passable, at best, but the tuck was marvellous and we waddled out of the restaurant utterly full and feeling fine. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful so we decided to come back for an afternoon tea later on. I'm glad that we did because I happen to be a massive fan of cakes and various sweet things and that's what we got. Rather a lot of it! We did well again. Top notch nosh for the greedy! The music in the restaurant was somewhat soporific though. Anonymous jazz that would send anyone to sleep. A change of tunes would be good. I think that many people would agree with me on that front. Musical mogadon to hypnotise the hungry. I'm glad that we came to stay. It was entertaining, calorific and just right. I hope that this review entitles us to a free stay some time!

Great service, great prices, cheaper than the nearest pub to be fair, but let down by the mould and damaged enamel in the bathroom, also a cigarette butt under the edge of the bed hardly suggests a clean or smoke free room. I have photographs.

2 out of 5 stars “Not the birthday experience we were hoping for” We booked a stay for two through Red Letter Days as a birthday treat and were extremely disappointed from the moment we arrived. The hotel exterior looked quite run down, which wasn’t a great first impression—and things only got worse. As we parked up, we were surprised to see a wedding in full swing. This had not been mentioned at the time of booking, and it made the arrival feel chaotic and poorly communicated. When we checked in, we were given a very small box room. The experience was advertised as having a “harbour view,” but we were instead facing a car park. We hoped the leisure facilities might salvage the stay, but unfortunately, the spa area was in poor condition. The hot tub was out of order and clearly not maintained. The pool had missing tiles, making the edges sharp and unsafe—definitely not somewhere you'd want to relax. To make matters worse, there was debris floating in the water. The changing room showers were equally disappointing—dated and not clean. After complaining, the manager (who was polite and helpful) moved us to a larger room, but sadly it wasn’t much better. It was unclean, with dead bugs on the windowsill, mould around the windows and bathroom ceiling, odd stains on the carpet, rust in the bathtub, and a cracked mirror. The room also had the smell of a changing room full of sweaty feet. We had dinner during our stay, but the food was very average and didn’t redeem the experience. Overall, this stay was a letdown. While the manager tried to help, the general condition of the hotel and lack of transparency made this an experience we would not recommend.

I would avoid staying at this hotel if you have children. We stayed here as they are linked with Paultons Park, this is one of the hotels you can choose when buying a package deal with Paultons Park but avoid it’s awful and not child friendly at all. When we arrived we had 3 excited children to use the pool for some swimming 2 of which were 14 and one 2 year old (children are not allowed to use the facilities before 9 or after 5) that’s fine but we were at Paultons Park until closing at 5:30 … so a swim just for half an hour after paying so much for the night would of been lovely. Staff are rude. They had a wedding on whilst we stayed and guests were everywhere music was blaring until 12pm … wedding guests running up and down corridors until late hours… we felt so uncomfortable walking amongst a wedding .. we had to walk through the wedding guests and party to get to our room. It was awful. We felt so guilty like we were gate crashing. We couldn’t use the bar or eat dinner here because the wedding took priority. There was no searing available for hotel guests. I’m not against any hotel using it as a wedding venue but it should have been stated on their website or when booking. I paid £120 to stay here for one night and everything about it was awful. Beds are uncomfortable .Staff are rude and unhelpful. Breakfast was awful. The worst I’ve ever had in a hotel and this hotel is giving 4 stars … I wouldn’t give it 3. We had room service for our breakfast as we didn’t want to sit amongst the wedding guests. After asking what time we wanted it for they were late but the waiters were lovely. The only good part I have to mention was how nice they were and helpful. Avoid staying here if your a family I’m sure a couple would have a lovely time but my advice go out for breakfast 😊 Paultons Park on the other hand amazing!!!

Lovely stay for 2 nights, very nice twin room, light and airy as is the hotel itself ie reception, the large bar area, a separate sitting room and the large dining room which has views over the estuary. The cooked breakfast was super, buffet style as was all the extensive "cold" breakfast options, literally you can eat and eat! Burn it off by going to the leisure facilities on site. A larger than average pool for a hotel, waterside showers to use before or after the sauna or steam room. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was being replaced during my stay. There's also a gym available for guests which " through the window" looked quite extensive ie plenty of exercise machines etc. It's used by local members so can't be too bad. The location is great, 2 minutes drive to shopping centre and Havant town centre with lots of the usual retail shops. Just a two minute walk is the old railway line called the Billy line is now a lovely flat walk alongside the estuary, it runs all the way to the bottom of Hayling Island. It is hard surface and used by cyclists too. So yes I recommend staying here and fully intend to stay again.

As a new travel blogger for the over 60's . I wasn't sure what to expect. The grounds leading up to the hotel are exquisite. The hotel reception team was absolutely exceptional and made me feel seen as an individual. Very grand interiors with spacious rooms. The beds are amazing, and the facilities within the room are well thought out. Excellent selection of herbal teas..Dinner was amazing, and the service was again exceptional and personal. The ambience was laid back, but classy.. The Eton mess deserves an award. The hotel is great for people with access needs or limitations.. This is a major gem set within the crown of bliss. A true quiet luxury experience. Thank you

Breakfast was good and staff was friendly. Enjoyed the sauna and pool. Only improvements are install air conditioning in the rooms, add chicken sausages to breakfast menu, swap the old carpets in the common areas for laminating wood and bath tubs gorgeous showers. Also bath robes and disposable slippers and sandals. Maybe add interactive colour lights for the swimming pool ceiling. WiFi is good. No choice for vegetarians at breakfast.

The rooms were nicely decorated but the beds were abysmal. We both woke up with bad backs and the second morning felt like we’d been hit by a tonne of bricks. The pool area is very outdated with a lot of tiles missing and dangerous. We had a table booked in the restaurant for both nights but cancelled the second night after the first.. the food was like a microwave meal that was undercooked and inedible, we had no one check to see if everything was ok, so we just cancelled desert, we did complain but nothing was done about it. Breakfast was good though. I wouldn’t normally leave a bad review but I feel like people should probably know theres a chance they may not have a good experience… I’m sure some rooms probably have better beds and dome of the food is fine, we were possibly just unlucky.

If you ever get the chance to stay at Langstone Quays don’t. We stayed in room 287. No heating because the remote control was missing. Couldn’t phone reception because the phone wasn’t connected. Bare floors weren’t helped by the rug stained with hot chocolate. Staff floating about the hotel wouldn’t help. Ladies on reception were however wonderful. Couldn’t warm ourselves up because the kettle was crusted with…..crusty crud. Shower water was lukewarm. Am absolute shambles. Like a modern day Fawlty Towers without the laughs.

Really enjoyed our recent stay here. It’s an interesting shaped hotel and in some ways a bit out of fashion but is well kept. Rooms are nice, we had a family room which suited our purpose with a young baby and travel cot but a bit pricey at £180. Access to a very nice pool is free, the bar is well stocked and pleasant - as are all of the staff - special mention to the lady on reception when we arrived who was super helpful and the lady lifeguard in the pool who was super friendly to our baby. Obviously a lot of conferences and weddings held here. Negatives were the buffer breakfast - really nice choice but too much of it had been left sitting there for a long time and was past its best - and one last food gripe… £3.20 for a packet of standard size crisps! But all in all a very pleasant stay

Possibly the worst place I've ever stayed. Advised on check in that as I was leaving early each morning I could get breakfast from the list and it would be ready for me - "including a bacon or sausage bap" (receptionist quote). Came down in the morning to find no cook so nothing hot, and no disposable cups so I was given a mug and a glass with cling film on the top to take in the car - these were left behind. Meal was awful, first main went back as I couldn't get my knife through the carrots with all the effort in the world, second (lamb steak) would have gone back if the kitchen had still been open, it took 45 minutes between my first main and the replacement, for 50% of the steak to come back out my mouth and be left on the plate as it was so full of fat and gristle. The place was dirty throughout, the bath didn't drain, the "harbour view" was a "dumping ground view" in reality, and the lack of painted lines in the car park meant I almost had people drive into me twice. I try to think of a saving grace to justify giving somewhere at least 2 stars, but my meal was £68, I was told someone would talk to me about my experience and no one did all week. Then to top it off finally, I was asked to send the photos above to the team so they could review (and avoid this review!) and it's currently 7 days later and no one has bothered to reply! I wouldn't care, but (my fault) I left something there and was after it posted, and they haven't even told me a no. Avoid at all costs.

I have been coming here for a few years now, the food is absolutely amazing, the best chinese I have ever been to and I have tried a few. Yes it’s quiet sometimes but who wants loads of people around when at least you can have a conversation and can always get a table. Nothing worse then going somewhere you love and not being able to go because its fully booked. The people that serve you are really friendly even though they are running the tables, deliveries and walk-ins also, definitely keep coming here.

It's good to be popular, but Almost had to sit outside. Looking rather down at heel. A problem of quantity of customers and your catchment area. Still the Cortado was fine. Shared a table with a guy, his coat and little space. When I sat down all three chairs were empty, apart from said coat. Only other downside, shared with the majority of coffee outlets, is there are never enough staff to clear / clean tables. Hayling Seagoon
