Am in shock that I paid £12 for 2 rolls for a bit butter and a tattie scone like I used to use this cafe every weekend and it was cheap and cheery full we do no cost off living but Christ u charging me £5.52 for spread off butter never ever use yous again!!! Rather go to granny house for breakfast and give her the £2 for her electricity meter!!

Popped in for a couple of takeaway rolls mid morning. Food was cooked to order very promptly, service was friendly. Food was super tasty! Try the empire biscuits, they're amazing!

brought my 2 two children in as a treat before going back to school, had a lovley cheese burger, mac and cheese(excellent) and the youngest had a baked potato, we loved the little booths and all the different sweets on display and ice creams, lots going on as was very busy, but staff were attentive, friendly and was good value for money-kids are asking to go back already!

This cafe has had such a great name and reputation for many years. It was for many years an absolute favourite with staff at the nearby hospitals/s and neighbours alike. The new owners were exceptionally lucky to inherit this amazing reputation but have failed miserably to keep it up! I had noted it had got quieter as of late. Not surprisingly as its reputation for tasty and good value food is defo gone, and after recent visits/purchase of food rightly so! I visited last year for what used to be a delicious burger only to find out that clearly supplier had been changed and the burger was awful. Cheap and nasty. Nothing like the previous burgers the previous owners used to sell. So I wasn’t planning on rushing back even then. However I was passing yesterday and even though I did toy with the idea of just driving down to nearby Mount Florida for a filled roll (the Blue Dairy shop – phenomenal - big fresh packed rolls and half the price of this place!) but because it was so hot and I was running late I decided Id just pop in for a salad roll. I did think what can go wrong there? How wrong I was! They charged me £3.70 for a chicken mayonnaise salad roll? Nearly £4 for a filled roll? Where do they think they are - in the West End? Ridiculous! Even the expensive forecourts of petrol stations don’t charge that much! You can get a full meal deal with a rink and crisp for that price! When I queried the price she explained it was £2.70 for just the roll and chicken mayonnaises and then an extra £1.00 for a smattering of salad. When I then looked at the price board I saw it said ‘filled rolls – salad extra 50p’. When I then queried this with the girl behind the counter she said curtly “I’m not over charging you it’s actually 50p each salad item”, so I think she was trying to tell me that I was actually getting a bargain paying only £1.00 for two slices of tomato, two slice of cucumber and the merest sprinkles of lettuce and red onion!? So all in all do yourselves a favour – AVOID AVOID AVOID this place now – its ridiculously unnecessary high prices for what you get are a RIP OFF! Pure and simple! Make the short drive/walk to Mount Florida for a MUCH better roll at a FAR better price! Or if driving then defo go to Butterbiggans Road to Nans Famous Roll Shop – one of the longest serving (50 yrs +) and best roll shops in Glasgow, where you get a packed roll with an bundle of extras for a flat price for £1.60! ……and cheaper for hot rolls! There’s the unavoidable cost of living increase on things currently - and then there’s people who are just ‘at it’ – and these guys are just AT IT! It’s a sad day when you’ve got to do a review on a salad roll – but when folk try to rip you off to the tune of near £4 for a meagre salad roll then they leave you no option. Also, I work in the nearby hospital and made my views very clear to all my work colleagues there – to their total agreement! I don’t like folk ripping me or others off – so I shout loudly when I come across them! Hence my very FIRST poor review ever!

A regular visitor to this little cafe with friends (and dogs). The food is exceptional with the daily specials always worth a try or you can go for the award winning Mac & Cheese followed by ice cream made made in the cafe. The staff are superb and will always make you feel welcome. If you visit here you won't be disappointed.

Job done; we came in hungry, we left stuffed! Great all day breakfast, and equally smashing scrambled eggs & smoked salmon. The cafe was recommended to us by a local, and we can see why. The service was prompt and friendly. Thanks for setting us up for our busy sightseeing trip to Glasgow!

The last meal I enjoyed in Scotland before my departure. This cafe was just up the road from where we were staying and opened early. I enjoyed the Scotish breakfast which was large, hearty and had plenty of meat! The two employees were very friendly. A small cafe, that I believe sees more locals than visitors, but that's part of the charm. I wish I'd gone there for dinner before I had left, but that will have to happen on my next visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed re-visiting this wee gem. Last visit was nearly 30 years ago! Great family vibe and completely unpretentious. One of the last remaining original Glasgow cafes. Food is good and cheap. Beautiful coffee. A must visit!

The place to go for a quick bite to eat, or a full meal. The traditional ice cream is my favourite, but now with a big selection of exotic flavours. And the new snowballs are fantastic.

Easily the best coffee in Glasgow. Actually, the best, most coffee-y coffee I've ever had. My partner is a coffee aficionado and we are always on a mission to get a great cup of coffee on our travels and at home, and this is a place we can heartily recommend.
