My mum had been for Sunday lunch a few weeks prior and highly recommended the restaurant for Sunday lunch, both me and my partner really enjoyed our meal. Afterwards we went to the farm shop where we were greeted by Ella who was extremely helpful and highly recommended the quiches which I must say are out of this world ! The bread cakes I purchased were lovely and soft. Thank you for amazing customer service Ella we will be back soon to sample more of your fantastic food offerings :-)

Always enjoy coming to Langlands as we have for many years, and it seems to be going down hill to what it was. We came yesterday morning to a shambolic start, no scones, which are really good, so I ordered a bacon sandwich, the bread cake was of the cheapest quality, and after putting brown sauce which used to be branded HP, and in my eyes cost cutting at its worst, was to be honest sandwich spoiling, was pricey, and a total waste of money, the staff are always lovely and welcoming, but your food standards have really dropped.

I really like this place go once a month. We sit the the same area every time from 12 till 3. At about 2.30 there closed our section off. We were in that section with another table so people were still in that section. Then a lady came in and came and sat in the area she was struggling with an elderly lady in her 90s who could not walk unaided and with a baby must have been just over one couldn’t walk so had to be carried. The lady got them both settled and went to order and at the counter as me and my friend watched she was rudely told she had to move as the area she sat in was being cleaned even though it was 2.30 with people including me still sat in that area. So me and my friend helped them move she was really upset. Most staff are really kind the older lady with grey shoulder length hair needs to learn how to speak to people.

Arrived at 3pm to the cafe. A customer was waiting for their order. The staff member turned to us and said they closed at 3pm. We only wanted a tea and a coffee and it was just 3pm. Not a minute past. They didn't even check what we wanted to order. The garden centre doesn't close until 4pm and we wouldn't have taken more than 30 minutes to have our drinks. Custom lost and won't bother visiting the cafe again.

Absolute dog bab gone right down the pan used to be lovely and now I would rather eat sh.t. Waited an hour for my meal and to be honest if you shot my scampi out of a tank you would stop any moving object unless you defended yourself with one of my four chips I got. My wife's was no better unless you needed a life raft made from pastry 3 inch thick it was like lifting a paving slab taking the top off. My grandson got chicken goujons and we thought that would be ok as he's teething, he's now just got gums again as he wore his little teeth down on the indestructible goujons we received. All this came to nearly £40 and to be honest ! thought Jeremy beadle was going to pop out and we could laugh at a good wind up

Visited 17/11 for breakfast / lunch. We arrived at 11.20 after a Quick Look at the menu we decided to have 1 breakfast and 1 prawn sandwich, coffees etc At 11.24 my partner went to place the order only to be told that no food was available until 12pm. This was due to staffing problems. Whilst we appreciate that staffing issues can’t be helped and the person in the kitchen was probably due a break there should be another member of staff that can cover for meal preparation. We were going to look round the garden centre and would have probably bought a few bits along side probably spending about £30 in the cafe but we just left instead. Perhaps if this is a regular occurrence it may be helpful to put a notice up informing customers so they are not wasting time finding a seat, looking at the menu, standing in a queue etc.

I've been a regular visitor to the cafe at this garden centre for many years. However, my latest visit will probably be my last. I appreciate that lunches are served from 12.00, but I've always been able to order from about 11.30 and sit with a coffee whilst lunch was ready. On this visit, not only were there no staff on the counter with a queue of customers, I was then informed that I could have my coffee, but would have to go back at 12.00 to order my lunch??? I sat with my coffee and watched several people leave because they could not order their lunch. I did the same, who came up with this ridiculous sales prevention idea??? What harm is there in placing an order and waiting until its ready??? Come 12.00 it then becomes chaotic with a queue of customers and very slow service at the counter. Sorry, but this cafe has been totally ruined for me, such a shame as the food is good, but I have better things to do than sit around and having to join the queue twice. I was always under the impression that the customer was the priority not the staff!

We have been coming here for years. The place has gone downhill. The food used to be excellent but now the choice of hot dishes is rubbish. The baked potatoes were OK - even they are off the menu now. The scones are like rock and mine was inedible today and had to go back. When I asked why it was so bad I was told that the person making them is not even a cook or a baker - and you can tell - there was so much friut they had not risen and you could have used the scone as a door stop. The staff on the counter are lovely - but clearly embarrassed by some of the stuff they are serving. We wont be back.

We even arranged afternoon tea for over a dozen people for mums 80th a couple of years and everyone said it was amazing. The staff can't do enough for you, they are so friendly and helpful. What has happened Langlands? No staff, poor quality food, meagre portions. Have been coming regularly for years but time to go elsewhere now. Bought a plant and the woman at the till never looked at me never said a word, not the first time either. I need more plants as i do every year but definitely not from this garden centre. We visit here quite often, we enjoy the vast array of plants and other merchandise. We always go into the cafe for coffee and cake, this time the cake was disappointing, a slice of cookie gateau which was hard( should have known it was a bit old, only the 2 slices left) On the way out I bought a large fruit pie to take home, it said it was apple and raspberry but when we cut it open it was just a pale looking jam, no fruit visible, clearly a tinned mush filling. It tasted vile and went straight in the bin, what a waste of almost £4. We will go back to again, plants are great, however I will be wary about the goods for sale in the cafe.

Visited for mid week lunch and was sadly really disappointed. We’ve visited many times before and standards were so much higher Very limited food and drink options. Jacket potato was rock hard in the middle, scones was half the size and crumbled when trying to spread anything (we normally make a special trip for these but they’re rubbish now) and the chunky chips were over cooked and didn’t taste nice So disappointing we normally love this place but won’t rush to return now

Went for the first time for my son's birthday to give him a treat. The atmosphere was the first ick, sadly. Using outdated fabrics and an odd table and booth layout. And during a time they should have been busy, we were one of only a few. For much of our time, we were alone. Their cold stone for the ice cream was severely broken, and it looked like it was filthy, or sludge, coming out from under it. Only positive for the atmosphere is the display of all the sweets. They did look really good. Tables had empty dishes on them while the girls in the back didn't look very busy. The one was polite and apologetic, and didn't seem to know much about what was available or not. The other was quiet. For food....sub-par. Taste was alright, brownies for the fondue were really good aside from being a bit old/dry on the edges. They were out of half of the things we asked for. Many of the drinks, including OJ, were missing. We had to go to their cooler ourselves to see what they had, which wasn't much. Same when ordering, I ended up not getting anything for myself and had to modify my son's chocolate fondue order because they didn't have enough cookies for the order. This place has potential. If they modernized it, make it more sleek and professional to match the style of the menu, deep cleaned, updated their equipment, and actually trained their staff, and had better product management....this place could be a hot spot easily.

We’ve just been to the art gallery café for lunch we won’t be going back. They sell scones but they’ve run out of jam What kind of business can’t even organise going to the shop and getting a pot of jam. Leeds city council should be ashamed of themselves.
