Wow, just got a job round the corner from here and tried it for lunch - fish cooked fresh to order and tasted lovely. Very reasonably priced and owner very friendly.

Called here several times over last few months and evertime it's been spot on Friendly staff and always quality food There homemade fishcakes are gorgeous and for only 95 pence each yer can't go wrong Fish and chips are lovely If yer passing near oakwell area and want some good food , call here!!

The best fish in yorkshire cooked while you wait so always hot and staff pleasant. Would definitley recommend.

Use this chip shop all the time the food is always excellent well cooked and freshly prepared the prices are fairly set in comparison with other local chippies all staff are very friendly and chatty with all customers whether regulars or new keep up the good work chris and the team

Excellent. Highly recommended. Come here as an away football fan and shop is in close proximity to the stadium. If you like traditional fish and chips you won't be disappointed.

This is the best fish & chip shop in Barnsley. Has been run for years by a gentleman by the name of Mick Wood who oversees all serving periods. You could say the style is old school - all you will get here is a standing queue for food and once served you go on your way. No frills, no seating, nothing fancy. Is that a bad thing when you can go into town and have a sit-down fish and chip meal ? It's a matter of choice. But the food here is ridiculously good and of exceptional quality. I'd personally do without the option of sitting down on dubiously clean tables and chairs eating average food and instead visit here for high quality produce to take away. Limited opening hours - lunchtimes only apart from Fridays but a good sign in my eyes - if you have the right product why would you need to open all the hours in the day to get custom as others do ?? Highly recommended.
