Lane Ends in Preston

Needed something to eat and this place was recommended by the b&b we were staying in up the road, staff very friendly the service and food was great too

Went in for lunch today. Had the seniors menu quite filling and reasonably priced. Not been in for a while but will probably go again for lunch. Staff very pleasant and attentive.

Been to Lane Ends a few times now and Bekkie and her team are incredibly friendly! Phill and Phoebe are always super welcoming providing a great service with a smile ! If you want somewhere to go where you feel comfortable and looked after this is the place to be! It's definitely now my new local! It's also very dog friendly where people's fur babies are also extremely welcomed !

Always made to feel very welcome by Phil who works on the bar. Great vibe about the place. Highly recommend!

Recently moved near here. Great local pub, brilliant staff and always happy to help.

This is the worst greene king ever , ordered food and it arrived 60 MINS later!!!!....asked why took so long apparently very busy..... I dont think so there were lots of free tables about. If you ordered a dessert oh there was no problem there arrived very quickly . We were offered a free drink for our long wait would rather had a discount but that was not forthcoming safe to say we will never darken its doorsteps again unless there is a rainbows end with a pot of gold at the end

Sunday fathers day roast dinner wasn't great all frozen food horrible potatoes no mash and the beef was rock hard and dry .Also expensive drinks and poor service probably won't visit again full of screaming kids going wild omg

Call in for food, waited a long time getting on for 1/2 hour, on first appearance the fish and chips look ok maybe a little small for the price but then it went downhill the fish skin was burnt on the underside and dry on the inside. I left the burnt and the bar man compensated me with a pint of Guinness so I went away hungry.

This is the most friendly pub I've been to in a long time,it's dog friendly and everyone makes you feel welcome and the dog of course

Food was OK. Katsu curry was like chippy curry poured over a bit of chicken in breadcrumbs. The server was lovely and helpful. Not much to be said regarding atmosphere, all in all ok

Nice place, sports on but drinks expensive. Only pub round there so can charge what they want I guess. Music on in time I was there but so low it was just annoying. Turn off or up, doesn't have to be very loud.

Decent neighborhood chain pub. Lots of comfy seating available. Nice place to have a relaxing pint or two. The selection beers is decent.

Went here yesterday with my son for the first time in awhile, and I've got to say I had a great experience yet again! The food was great - I had steak and ale pie which was superb👌 my son had fish and chips which he really enjoyed also. We didn't order pudding, as too full up! If I had to change one thing, it would be that there was a little more variety for puddings options but that's it! I give it a full 5 stars all round 🌟 Theres a lovely chilled atmosphere too and a nice seating area outside for smokers etc. There's on site parking too and despite it being small, it fits a good few cars on so that's handy. Will definatley recommend it for a few beers of an evening too with a top atmosphere and great tasting beer! 😁👍Will be going again 100%

Absolutely fantastic service,on holiday and place was in walking distance of our B&B food is amazing,well cooked and fresh,staff were lovely,would definitely recommend and come here again.

Very disappointed family after visiting Lane Ends. Main reason for visiting was a family meal, and menu options included suitable options for vegetarian and gluten-free. Placed our order to be told there’s no fish and chips, and no gluten free bread. Also told that other items in the menu are never available. Had to find other suitable options, but were very limited. In hindsight should have gone elsewhere, and will think twice about trusting online menus for Greene King pubs.

The bar member jamie helped my cousin and I with a taxi and was very attentive all night.

Our first time here. Jamie was a great bartender, friendly and welcoming. The beer selection is good and the comfy sofas are a plus. We will definitely be back.

The table was dirty and sticky and the language in the pub was offensive. The staff did not ask the table

I visited lane ends in January I'm from ballymena northern Ireland, while their I experienced the most amazing service from the friendliest bar staff. It was my son's birthday and he lives in Preston, nothing was a problem even brought my son out a birthday cake everyone joined in the celebrations .we were greeted with a warm friendly atmosphere and I can't wait to go back. honestly if you've never been I highly recommend great food great service and most if all a warm friendly atmosphere

Great atmosphere. Especially great when the footie is on, bar staff have great Banter with everyone I'm not a local. travel around originally from Scotland made feel very welcome here by staff and locals won't be long to my next visit

Visited here last week whilst travelling, I was met with a great atmosphere fantastic staff and the food was top notch can’t recommend this place enough, bar staff extremely helpful and friendly along side the locals

Love it! Because it is my local and get to see old friends..Sometimes the food deserves five stars - other times 2, not always consistent. the atmoshere often exceeds 4... Good beer, good people.

I have been going in the lane ends for over 30 years and I have seen good times and bad but this has to be the worst ive ever seen it the door on Blackpool Rd is literally falling to to bits the gents toilets have not been cleaned properly for a long time shortage of staff means empty glasses everywhere how can you expect a manager to run a busy pub with not enough staff look at your reviews with people waiting to long for food etc it's just not good enough and j feel so sorry for becky who i know personally and does not the backing she deserves it's such a shame Greenking have allowed it to get so bad I have not commented on the food because I never get any pls try to get it back to the great pub it was

Had a lovely lunch here. Plant meatballs in a ciabatta rolls with chips and sweetcorn bites. Stan our Great Dane who you see here chilling in the friendly atmosphere chose chicken and a sausage from the Doggy Menu. Nice tidy clean pub with a good choice on the menu including vegetarian. Food was nicer than most. Lovely outside area and there’s a car park. Staff are helpful and friendly.

Genuinely one of the worst pub experiences in a long time. Ordered a mushroom pie. My mate ordered the chicken, when they brought them over we asked which was which. He looked confused and then proudly handed me the mushroom. When i actually got to bite into the filling i realised it was steak...... bar saff all looked stoned which could explain why. I've been a veggie for 40 years and can't remember the last time this happened. Barman seemed genuinely relieved that it was only a "lifestyle choice" and not an allergy. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN, THEY HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE.

Excellent staff, food and atmosphere !

It's a great pub for a local, always welcoming. Staff are friendly. The food is great and well-priced. However, in order to give a fair review, the only thing I will say is that the wait time on food is a bit long. I've ordered food at separate times of the day, on different days but the food always seems to take a long time to arrive, even when the pub isn't that busy. It's my only gripe, otherwise this would definitely be a five star review. I still go because again it's a good pub, I just have to factor in the inevitable wait time for food.

Great pub to watch sport very welcoming I’m not a local just working in the area so it can be a bit daunting going into a pub on your own when out of town but not here didn’t try the food but others said it was good friendly staff I will return

A good buzz for sports and a great place to get together with friends and family. Great choice of food to choose from and the staff all have a friendly approach. Tamsin and Tyler have always been a great help and always seem to be working hard for the customers.

Friendly. The food took a very long time even on a quiet night and most of it was out of stick but took 15-20 minutes to tell us the alternatives. Friendly tho.

Excellent food and good service. The prices where decent for the food. They where showing the football on TV at quite a loud volume when we arrived, not so loud you could I talk but if you don't like sports, avoid when it's on. Overall it was a very decent experience

Really nice pub; staying locally for business and popped in for a meal, a pint and to watch the football. Great food cooked to perfection and a nice cold pint.. now if only "them" get beat it'll be fantastic night

Small and friendly pub. Meals very good hunters chicken and all day brunch followed by triple chocolate brownie and ice cream with sauce. Quite a lively place but seemed to go like clockwork. Good for a quick meal if you're passing through. Dont let the small lobby like bit as you walk in its on a busy road with a narrowish pavement so does get dusty. I'm glad I didn't judge on that.

Great fun at the quiz night with music bingo too, and friendly and helpful bar staff. Beckie organised my birthday booking very last minute and was amazing 🤩

Sunday Lunch, very bare, no potatoes, great big piece of cold broccoli covering half of plate, mashed carrots hadn't been fully defrosted. Empty Glasses allover. Expensive

I only wanted one pint to sit outside, but the staff there are all so nice I think it's my new favourite pub. Thank you so much to Tyler, Jack, Carl and Chloe for being, quite frankly, the nicest people I've had conversations with recently. (I've not been in for about a decade, so nice to know it's currently an extremely welcoming pub. But I'm sure there's more staff I've not met yet who are probably also lovely) Can't wait to nip in again, thank you so much to you all 😊

Bar staff are so nice, and there's everything you want from a Green King.......BUT on this visit there was no chef, so no food, and no draught beers/lagers!! We had really nice food here the last time we visited so decided to call in again when we were in Preston for the weekend. Was so disappointed this time.

OK, nothing exceptional,but not bad.

Stopped here as car broke down so whilst In the garage thought we'd pop in for some food and drinks. And what a little gem of a place to find proper pub with a nice atmosphere and good food. Definitely be back if ever in Preston again
