Will definitely come again. Everything was great.

Had supper here last week, we all said how exceptional the food and service was. One cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Having had a lovely Sunday lunch at Lambs before we had no qualms about booking it for our anniversary meal. However, after our experience today, we are regretting that decision and feel very let down. The food was good, don’t get me wrong, but having waited over 45 minutes for it with no communication we were frustrated and didn’t enjoy it as much as we should have. We’ve both worked in customer facing environments so appreciate that it’s tough, but being told “we’re busy today” when the food eventually came out just wasn’t good enough. There were plenty of members of staff around to appease disgruntled customers (we weren’t the only ones) and they chose not to. It just felt like every customer was an inconvenience, the communication and attentiveness was poor and so overall a very disappointing experience. In hindsight maybe we should’ve asked to speak to a manager but to be honest the time it took to even get the bill and pay for it we couldn’t face waiting even longer!

Dined here on Friday before going to the theatre. Lovely staff, excellent service and high quality food and drinks. We have been before a few years ago and we were not disappointed

Booked a table here for the first time for a midweek lunch with a friend en route to a conference, and was unsure whether it would deliver on the hype. From the moment we walked in, however, it was obvious that its reputation was deserved. The building and interior is delightful. All low ceilings and dense, glowing natural wood. The lighting they have used makes it feel warm and inviting, and we received a friendly welcome from the maitre d and one of the waiting staff. We went for the set price lunch menu, which was astoundingly good value at £27.50 for three courses. A grilled goats cheese salad was flawlessly executed and gave rich flavours and textures in just the right size portion. I had a main course of salmon and leek supreme, which was comfort food at its best. My friend had the Cajun chicken which she pronounced delicious. Neither of us wanted to plump for just one pudding, so we did halvesies - a hazelnut parfait and pear and almond pud. These were both gorgeous, the perfect end to the meal. All of the food was so very beautifully cooked, and achieved that amazing quality of being wholly satisfying and flavoursome whilst perfectly weighted (I can’t find another word) and portioned. The service was kind and friendly and unobtrusive - shimmering like Jeeves into view just when needed. So in summary, Lamb’s delivers on every score. It’s rare for me to say this about a restaurant, but I cannot think of any area at all in which the staff could look to improve. Five stars. Would recommend.

Best Cajun chicken I've ever had. The blackberry Eton mess was perfect. Would recommend and definitely visit again if in the area

Really good service and the food was perfectly cooked .l had pork and my wife had sea bream fillet . The food was served on warm plates and not on silly black roof slates If we were to eat off roof slates we would all sit on the roof 😂😂😂

The food was ok , put it was over priced for what we got. £28 for a 8 ounce steak thought it would have £18 instead. Don't think we go back there again.

Absolutely fantastic excellent we have been going there and the sister Vintners for thirty years and never had a problem attention to detail and service brilliant, we need them to move to Cornwall, I did a fifty mile detour on Sunday for lunch because I was worth the extra drive thank you

We enjoyed our Al fresco lunch so much yesterday . Cosy throws supplied to keep the chill off and lovely curtious service. Extremely fresh produce being served and a fabulous wine list . It is refreshing to see these standards, especially in a tourist town , most enjoyable meal out thank you , well done lambs 10/10

First visit to Straford and had an evening meal here. It was fantastic. The food was incredibly well prepared, fresh and interesting. I had the lamb chops and they were expertly cooked and slightly pink. I can say they were the best lamb chops I have ever had. And the potato accompaniment was unusual and delicious. My wife had a vegetarian option which again was interesting and delicious. Staff were excellent and amusing. The building is wonderful, lots of levels and rooms, although we dined outside.

Food is nice but not exceptional. Good atmosphere, but not at all set up for people with limited mobility (2 flighta of awkward stairs for the toilet). Server was lovely and service generally good but one drink was forgotten about.

Dissappointed with the Sunday lunch , pork was beautiful but the lamb very tough and tasteless. Roast potatoes tasted and looked like they were frozen one - tasteless and hard to cut , veg was average but the yorkshire puddings were definitely homemade . Wont be going back .

Such a lovely ,quirky building and the food was pretty brilliant too !

My ribeye steak was lovely but my wife's sea bass was so small and dry! She's a petite lady but the fish was hardly a main course. Up to now we have always enjoyed Lambs as we are locals but she was thoroughly underwhelmed on this occasion.

As perfect as previous reviews suggested. Fabulous independent restaurant, lovely interior, great service, extremely delicious food from a good choice menu. We will return.

We absolutely loved this old cottage restaurant. We went there twice for dinner we tasted the rack of lamb the rebeye the seabass and many more everything was cooked at perfection made from scratch with high sourced produce, service was attentive and the ambience was lovely and cosy. We will definitely be back once in Stratford upon Avon.

Highly recommend, child and dog friendly they served my dog with water and treat as well. The food was amazing

Lovely restaurant, great service from the staff, not rushed and the right timings and attention given. We both had the fix price lunch menu, all the food was really tasty and homemade and served piping hot and fresh. Decent price too. We will be back.

The food here is exquisite, cooked beautifully and the quality of the produce is outstanding. Perfect service from a charming team of people in a lovely environment. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend a visit for an exceptional experience.

One of the best little restaurants I have been in for a long time. Set 2 course lunch at 21.50 was great. We were seated and served quickly and efficiently. The waitress was exceptional with friendliness and forward thinking (things like checking if coffee served with or after dessert). Food was high quality French based cuisine. I had a cajan chicken, and my partner had sea bream, mine with thin fries and a small side salad. Desserts were a big slab of sticky toffee pudding, and a creme brulee. Presentation could have been a little better for both, but tasted wonderful.

Great find in Stratford. Separate gluten free menu with plenty of choice. Beautifully cooked food, friendly staff and reasonably priced for the quality of ingredients. Highly recommend.

The food was good, though it didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the price. While the dishes were tasty and well-presented, they lacked that extra something to make them truly exceptional. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, providing a comfortable and enjoyable setting for our meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit.

From the moment you enter the restaurant, you cannot fail to be impressed. You are greeted with a warm welcome from the staff. The building is incredible with some very quirky features. The food was absolutely delicious and couldn't fault a thing. The presentation was excellent and food cooked to perfection. The service was first class, they were very efficient, but you weren't rushed. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return.

It was a pre-theatre visit so there was limited time to soak up the atmosphere but the surroundings were pleasant. Service was very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious.

It could be great - the chefs know what they're doing. But crispy duck salad, while fabulous on one level, was just leathery flesh that had been reheated once too often. And a great pear and almond tart in delicious créme anglaise was spoiled by being heated to an ungodly temperature in a microwave. Pity.

An excellent pre-theatre menu. I went with the fried halloumi, followed by sea bass and finished with pear and almond tart with creme anglais (posh Bakewell tart with custard, but when it tastes this good can be forgiven ;-) washed down with a marvellous rosé.

We were recommended this restaurant by good friends who are regulars. The whole experience was very good and the food and service deserving 5 stars. This remained the case until the moment we asked for the bill with the intention of leaving a generous tip. However at this juncture the waitress/manager/owner I’m not sure of her position turned aggressively against a member of staff in the public area and then stomped around clearly in a foul mood taking our payment without a smile or thanks and of course we left no tip and went. What a shame she spoiled it for us. Perhaps some extra training could be made available to her !

Good food. Great service. Probably the best coffee in Stratford.

We were visting Stratford Upon Avon and this was our first evening. Lambs was recommended to us by a very helpful taxi driver. We looked at all the eateries on Sheep Street and decided to give Lambs a go. Lucky we did, the food was excellent, the service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Overall we were very pleasantly surprised.

Stumbled upon this beautiful place whilst walking through Stratford Upon Avon trying to find somewhere to have lunch with my mum and Dennis the dog. Stunning little heated outside terrace invited us in by advertising dog friendly on the board outside. What a find! Friendly, welcoming staff showed us to a table, put on the heaters, gave us blankets if we were cold (it was raining outside) and got us a drink and brought Dennis a bowl and treats too. We had the lunch sandwiches which were amazing and very good value, the staff were very attentive - overall I can’t fault this place. I only realised when I went inside how big the restaurant was and so warm and friendly. Lovely gem of a place - a must visit if you’re in the area.

Five of us ate here (3 adults and two children) and had a fantastic meal. Service was excellent and the food delicious. We had lamb, steak, chicken and hake, couldn’t fault any of it. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Ate here on Tuesday evening before the England game and opted for the 3 course ‘pre theatre’ menu. Everything about this place is quality from the old, atmospheric decor to the excellent customer service and top notch food! Drinks were top quality too and washed down a very enjoyable meal nicely. Will definitely book Lamb’s again on my return to Stratford!

Not the cheapest place in town but quality comes at a price. Consistently good and I’ve been going on and off for over 15yrs. All my customers I bring are not disappointed.

We went there for a pre-theatre birthday dinner. There were several of us meeting up and I was concerned with the timing due to the theatre booking, but the staff were superb, flexible and attentive but not overly so and the food arrived in good time. Lovely environment and delicious mains. I really appreciated that the wine was all organic as well. You helped make a special evening for us all, thank you.

Pleasant atmosphere, good service and well prepared dishes. Lamb Rump and the fish of the day (halibut) were excellent choices. The dishes were very tasty. The restaurant has several environments and was an excellent gastronomic experience. I recommend!

Seriously generous and tasty portions in a very atmospheric building, with low ceilings and uneven floors. Despite the setting, the cooking is quite modern, and the size of the desserts would put any London restaurant to shame. Our hostess was Klaudia, and she was really great 😊

Average food and quality, decent price , staff friendly but not attention was given, as I stand now at the table after 40 min in the restaurant, none of the staff has asked how is food and how we feel after seeing them going to everyone else to ask and look after. Can it be because we were the only table not speaking english...? Not coming back for sure and not recomending to friends

Fabulous place to eat. Friendly, attentive staff and incredible food. When we arrived and were shown to our table it was very warm. Without asking, the waitress showed us to another table by an open window. Very thoughtful.

Loved it. We talked all the way home about how much we enjoyed the food. Still thinking about it now.

We have eaten here several times over a few years, before we go to the theatre. Last night was very disappointing, especially so as it was also our wedding anniversary. We had the liver, which we have had previously, the portion size was poor compared to previous visits and it wasn't as well cooked and I don't mean well done! I had the cheese board and again the amount was paltry. Three small pieces of cheese, the blue wasn't too bad but the other two, whatever they were, were completely non-descript. Such a big let down.

Went for a birthday lunch, and had an excellent meal. The waiting staff were attentive and personable. It was a nice touch putting a candle in the birthday boys pudding!

We had dinner here while visiting Stratford-upon-avon. Both Cajun chicken and duck dishes were very good. My only complaint was the Cotswolds bread sides/appetizer, they looked like just day old cold bread. Not something u expect paying almost 5 pounds for a few slices.

I genuinely enjoyed the experience here. The bread was great. If you can, get the duck entree, it is legit.

We arrived almost unannounced as a table of an impossible 12 at peak time on a Saturday night & although the restaurant we knew to be the best in Stratford was fully booked we were so kindly accommodated by Claudia outside in a the very cosy terrace area under rugs and powerful heaters. We had a lovely time! Claudia couldn’t have done enough for us & although I was keen to be as little trouble as possible given the size of our table & lack of booking- the food was delicious & served quickly & the service was exceptional. We had an excellent lunch here today! Why I gave only 4* was because my some of my lamb were a bit chewy. The lamb's liver was excellent, according to my husband , but the bacon wasn't crispy and not enough on his plate. The plated beef looked really good. Soups were great, so were the sweets.

We had excellent, friendly service from all staff involved - from the moment we walked through the door until we left. Both of the ladies who served our food were very well-informed about the menu. Four of us ate and all four of us would rate the food as excellent. The only negative criticism is that the cheaper of the two Pinot Noir wines available was average. This is the second time that my wife and I have visited and we are glad that we invited our friends to join us this time A wonderful time was had by all!

Haven’t visited Stratford since before covid, glad to see the lamb maintaining its high service standards and excellent food after such a difficult time for the restaurant industry. A most enjoyable evening and pleased to see that they were very busy.

Thoroughly enjoyed a meal at Lambs last night. A lovely ambiance. A very good value set menu and great to still be on offer early Saturday evening. Food all delicious, seemed good quality and generous portions. I am a coeliac and good gluten free options. Would highly recommend.

To be honest, this is one of the best places I have eaten in England. We walked in and after us people started coming, a lot of them The service is top notch, everyone is very polite and kind and very fast We ordered 4 dishes, risotto, fish, steak and of course lamb and it was incredibly tasty. If you want to eat delicious food, then you definitely need to come here!!

Nice restaurant, very nice meal, easy to make a reservation, very prompt and pleasant service. Our table was a little exposed, being in a gangway on the way to the rest-rooms, but that's a minor negative. Generally a very pleasant experience!

Lovely mother's day lunch. Couldn't fault any of the food, all very yummy! Only comment would be the fact you don't receive any bread with the soup or mussels so nothing to soak it all up with but everything was delicious otherwise. Can't wait to come back!!!

Great restaurant, very accommodating. Staff are super friendly. The beef carpaccio was light and tasty, paired with the South African Pino then followed by the herb crusted lamb and juicy duck, really good food, definitely will be coming back.

The Lamb on Sheep Street is a lovely venue with genuinely friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. We both had the 3 course set menu lunch which was very tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. Of note, the food was not only tasty but was served piping hot, as it should be. A nice experience to be repeated when next in Stratford.

We were just looking for somewhere for lunch and happened on Lambs. What luck, food, and service superb. I had the rack of lamb, some of the best lamb I've had in a long time. Great.

Good roast and good service! Solid choice in Stratford for a roast lunch but not the best we’ve had (at the same price point) and won’t be in a rush to go back. We were sat on the second floor not too far from the bathrooms on the floor above, and there was a strong smell of bathroom cleaning products which was a little off putting while eating our lunch. FYI they don’t take Amex (unlike many other restaurants in Stratford).

For context, I have been here a few times before and it was the first location we chose to go on our first date many years ago before we got married. Booked again for Valentines day 14 Feb 2024. Was running late as my wife is pregnant and sick in the morning, plus traffic on M6. Called them up, spoke to a very abrupt and rude lady who literally spoke to me like she’s telling me off for trying to move a booking to a time they are closed (2:30pm) I had no idea they are closed then and it wasn’t even an issue for me. Although I kept my calm on the call, I decided I would ting back 15 mins later to explain that this is not acceptable to a manager. The same lady answered the phone, and she just huffed and puffed and slammed the phone down on me. I would NEVER visit this place again, how unprofessional and damn rude. Disgusting attitude!!

Service was friendly and attentive. We weren't shown where to hang our coats, unfortunately, and it had been raining. Food, especially the lamb was good. We had the a la carte menu at lunch. The starters seemed most interesting. There was nothing special about the food but it was done well. The biggest letdown for us was the seating. Unfortunately the customers were packed tightly on neighbouring tables and we thought this was unusual considering the layout of the restaurant. Unfortunately our conversations (and our neighbours) were not private and it detracted hugely from the experience. I would go back for the fairly priced set menu, but I would look elsewhere for any special occasions.

Excellent meal here (again). I had the 8oz ribeye and my wife had the herb crusted lamb. Could not fault either dish. Excellent service and tummy content. I passed my thanks on to the chefs, who keep knocking them out. Well worth a visit.

A warm, friendly welcome on this first visit in many years... was followed up by consistently efficient, very professional, smiling service from a young team impressively confident in what they were about. The dining atmosphere in this low ceilinged Tudor building in the centre of Stratford gets a head start from the authentically attractive period surroundings, but supported unobtrusively by the team, quietly ensuring that we guests are very well looked after... including prompting one very tall guest at an adjacent table to duck in time not to crack his head on the ceiling beams. There was a fairly extensive menu to tempt us, including a fish section and reasonable vegetarian options, alongside very well presented steak, lamb, and liver staples. My only quibble might be the description of a starter as mushroom 'arancini'. The Sicilian arancini is a classic dish that has been enthusiastically taken up in recent years, but Lambs very tasty effort looked much more like 'bonbons' than the pear-shaped rice dish that would have matched our expectations. A minor carp... our meal was beautifully cooked and presented. There is a first class, not overpriced wine list too, including a good range of wines by the glass. Any wine list that includes the truly superb rioja from Marques de Murrieta deserves to be drunk from. Copiously if you can afford it. Lambs is highly recommended... I look forward to future visits.

We had the most beautiful wonderful dining experience, the service was par excellence and the food fabulous. I am a retired chef and I know when it is good wholesome food. Well done and the staff so well trained and just so full of smiles. absolutely fabulous thank you.

Just had amazing food we had lamb shank and the Cajun chicken beautifully cooked to perfection it was food to die for its Tuesday night and totally full we sat upstairs great ambience and service Stratford is very lucky to have this we will go here next time we are in Stratford

Beautiful food with a lovley setting, wonderful staff very friendly and knowledgeable......in fact definitely the best rack of lamb I've ever had the whole experience was 10/10..........
