We had a delicious meal for my husbands birthday over the weekend. They made us feel very welcome and the staff were excellent!

We arrived almost unannounced as a table of an impossible 12 at peak time on a Saturday night & although the restaurant we knew to be the best in Stratford was fully booked we were so kindly accommodated by Claudia outside in a the very cosy terrace area under rugs and powerful heaters. We had a lovely time! Claudia couldn’t have done enough for us & although I was keen to be as little trouble as possible given the size of our table & lack of booking- the food was delicious & served quickly & the service was exceptional. We had a fabulous time! Thank you Claudia! Xx

We had an excellent lunch here today! Why I gave only 4* was because my some of my lamb were a bit chewy. The lamb's liver was excellent, according to my husband , but the bacon wasn't crispy and not enough on his plate. The plated beef looked really good. Soups were great, so were the sweets.

We had excellent, friendly service from all staff involved - from the moment we walked through the door until we left. Both of the ladies who served our food were very well-informed about the menu. Four of us ate and all four of us would rate the food as excellent. The only negative criticism is that the cheaper of the two Pinot Noir wines available was average. This is the second time that my wife and I have visited and we are glad that we invited our friends to join us this time A wonderful time was had by all!

Haven’t visited Stratford since before covid, glad to see the lamb maintaining its high service standards and excellent food after such a difficult time for the restaurant industry. A most enjoyable evening and pleased to see that they were very busy.

Thoroughly enjoyed a meal at Lambs last night. A lovely ambiance. A very good value set menu and great to still be on offer early Saturday evening. Food all delicious, seemed good quality and generous portions. I am a coeliac and good gluten free options. Would highly recommend.

To be honest, this is one of the best places I have eaten in England. We walked in and after us people started coming, a lot of them The service is top notch, everyone is very polite and kind and very fast We ordered 4 dishes, risotto, fish, steak and of course lamb and it was incredibly tasty. If you want to eat delicious food, then you definitely need to come here!!

Nice restaurant, very nice meal, easy to make a reservation, very prompt and pleasant service. Our table was a little exposed, being in a gangway on the way to the rest-rooms, but that's a minor negative. Generally a very pleasant experience!

Lovely mother's day lunch. Couldn't fault any of the food, all very yummy! Only comment would be the fact you don't receive any bread with the soup or mussels so nothing to soak it all up with but everything was delicious otherwise. Can't wait to come back!!!

Great restaurant, very accommodating. Staff are super friendly. The beef carpaccio was light and tasty, paired with the South African Pino then followed by the herb crusted lamb and juicy duck, really good food, definitely will be coming back.

The Lamb on Sheep Street is a lovely venue with genuinely friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. We both had the 3 course set menu lunch which was very tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. Of note, the food was not only tasty but was served piping hot, as it should be. A nice experience to be repeated when next in Stratford.

We were just looking for somewhere for lunch and happened on Lambs. What luck, food, and service superb. I had the rack of lamb, some of the best lamb I've had in a long time. Great.

Good roast and good service! Solid choice in Stratford for a roast lunch but not the best we’ve had (at the same price point) and won’t be in a rush to go back. We were sat on the second floor not too far from the bathrooms on the floor above, and there was a strong smell of bathroom cleaning products which was a little off putting while eating our lunch. FYI they don’t take Amex (unlike many other restaurants in Stratford).

For context, I have been here a few times before and it was the first location we chose to go on our first date many years ago before we got married. Booked again for Valentines day 14 Feb 2024. Was running late as my wife is pregnant and sick in the morning, plus traffic on M6. Called them up, spoke to a very abrupt and rude lady who literally spoke to me like she’s telling me off for trying to move a booking to a time they are closed (2:30pm) I had no idea they are closed then and it wasn’t even an issue for me. Although I kept my calm on the call, I decided I would ting back 15 mins later to explain that this is not acceptable to a manager. The same lady answered the phone, and she just huffed and puffed and slammed the phone down on me. I would NEVER visit this place again, how unprofessional and damn rude. Disgusting attitude!!

Service was friendly and attentive. We weren't shown where to hang our coats, unfortunately, and it had been raining. Food, especially the lamb was good. We had the a la carte menu at lunch. The starters seemed most interesting. There was nothing special about the food but it was done well. The biggest letdown for us was the seating. Unfortunately the customers were packed tightly on neighbouring tables and we thought this was unusual considering the layout of the restaurant. Unfortunately our conversations (and our neighbours) were not private and it detracted hugely from the experience. I would go back for the fairly priced set menu, but I would look elsewhere for any special occasions.

Excellent meal here (again). I had the 8oz ribeye and my wife had the herb crusted lamb. Could not fault either dish. Excellent service and tummy content. I passed my thanks on to the chefs, who keep knocking them out. Well worth a visit.

A warm, friendly welcome on this first visit in many years... was followed up by consistently efficient, very professional, smiling service from a young team impressively confident in what they were about. The dining atmosphere in this low ceilinged Tudor building in the centre of Stratford gets a head start from the authentically attractive period surroundings, but supported unobtrusively by the team, quietly ensuring that we guests are very well looked after... including prompting one very tall guest at an adjacent table to duck in time not to crack his head on the ceiling beams. There was a fairly extensive menu to tempt us, including a fish section and reasonable vegetarian options, alongside very well presented steak, lamb, and liver staples. My only quibble might be the description of a starter as mushroom 'arancini'. The Sicilian arancini is a classic dish that has been enthusiastically taken up in recent years, but Lambs very tasty effort looked much more like 'bonbons' than the pear-shaped rice dish that would have matched our expectations. A minor carp... our meal was beautifully cooked and presented. There is a first class, not overpriced wine list too, including a good range of wines by the glass. Any wine list that includes the truly superb rioja from Marques de Murrieta deserves to be drunk from. Copiously if you can afford it. Lambs is highly recommended... I look forward to future visits.

We had the most beautiful wonderful dining experience, the service was par excellence and the food fabulous. I am a retired chef and I know when it is good wholesome food. Well done and the staff so well trained and just so full of smiles. absolutely fabulous thank you.

Just had amazing food we had lamb shank and the Cajun chicken beautifully cooked to perfection it was food to die for its Tuesday night and totally full we sat upstairs great ambience and service Stratford is very lucky to have this we will go here next time we are in Stratford

The atmosphere is very good and the building is very distinctive I saw many tables celebrating anniversaries There is also a thoughtful little card on the table to give blessings. The lamb chops are also so tender and delicious👍🏻 The steak is okay, I prefer the side with sweet potatoes Crispy and delicious 😆

Booked a table for a 60th birthday celebration dinner at Lambs and from booking to leaving, the whole experience was fantastic, the staff are so friendly and delivered a very professional service. The food was absolutely excellent and the venue creates a very welcoming ambience. My partner and guests were delighted to have spent such a special occasion at such a wonderful restaurant. Very nice atmosphere nice food only the person who served us was ..not the best

We were a party of six celebrating my birthday. The menu was extensive with everyone having difficult decisions over what to choose between. Having made our choices we all had excellent meals, cooked to perfection. The serving staff were attentive and worked very hard without appearing stressed or rushed. Overall the dining experience could not have been better.

Great food and friendly staff. We sat in an outside area which was covered and had a heater as we had our dog. The 2 and 3 course set menus are very good value.

The sticky toffee pudding was to die for!

Who doesn’t visit Lambs when going to Stratford, such a beautiful building and you can feel the history whilst soaking up the atmosphere- oh and the food well go try for yourself you won’t be disappointed

Really wanted to visit when I read some of the reviews and it absolutely lived up to expectations. Simple superb, and I wish I lived closer!

We booked Lambs for a birthday dinner while we were travelling. It is certainly is a place for special occasions, with a sophisticated decor and guests dressed very nicely. We started off with drinks and then I ordered the set GF menu - there were actually two options which is wonderful. The mushroom soup was the best I have ever eaten!! I could just have had more of that and been very happy. The next course was the salmon on a cheesy potato stack. Unfortunately this course was not so good. The oily fish on top of a heavy greasy potato stack was not appetizing, although the flavours were fine. The final course in the set menu was Eton mess with passion fruit and it was delightful. Just the right combination of sweet and tart. Overall, I recommend this restaurant but would suggest they rethink the salmon dish. My husband has the lamb and said it was very good.

Excellent range of food and drinks. There was a wide variety of choices on the menu including some choices you don't see everywhere. Very much enjoyed my dessert of marbled chocolate mousse cake, I have a very sweet tooth, so always enjoyed a lovely pudding. Would recommend booking in advance as it was busy when we went.

This is a place where you can say you get what it says on the can. Reliable, tasty, not too expensive and within a short distance of the RSC. You can go a la carte or have a set meal. You won't be disappointed. There are quite a few very ordinary or very expensive options in Stratford. Stay clear of them and come to Lamb's.

High quality food. Great staff. Attentive without being intrusive. We had artisan bread & Halloumi starters. Both had Cornish mussels for main. Food was delicious. My wife vouches that her mulled wine was fab. My Spanish draught lager good also. Reasonably priced. Brilliant lunch! We were a walk in and seated downstairs. Location was fine with adequate room between tables. Upstairs has low beamed ceiling and was quite noisy with much more tables up there. Downstairs may be more preferable - there are 4 of 2 seat tables. Nice touch by staff was how attentive they were to an elderly lady sitting on her own opposite from us.

Not the first time for my wife but definitely was for me and overall it was a positive experience. A glass of champers for my other half and a G&T was welcomed whilst we perused the menu which led to us choosing the following. As starters, my wife went with the scallops with pork belly and an apple puree jus which she enjoyed but thought it could have had a bit more 'kick to it while for me it was the beef carpaccio served with rocket, Parmigiano Reggiano and a hint of aged balsamic - loved it. Moving to the mains, for the wife it was the Cornish skate wing with a mix of accompaniments and a part share of a broccoli side dish which again she enjoyed but thought it was a little bit on the 'greasy' side. For me it was the calves liver served with croquette potatoes (at my request rather than creamed), spinach and crispy shallots. As with the starter, I loved it. We were careful with the wine, a Picpoul glass for my wife and a larger glass of a decent Shiraz for me both of which we enjoyed. Atmosphere was calm and relaxing and the staff were attentive and helpful. So, in summary, we will be back.

We were looking for somewhere nice to eat in Stratford-upon-Avon and this restaurant had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is beautiful inside and out and from the moment we walked through the door the staff all looked after us brilliantly. We ended up ordering 3 courses and I can honestly say this was the best meal I have ever tasted. Everything was absolutely perfect and delicious. I can't wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

This was without doubt one of the best meals we have had out in a long time! Lucky to have been able to book a table today, it’s no wonder this place is popular. Food was wonderful and the staff so friendly and attentive. A must if you can get in….advise. Book early!

Had another great meal here ... the flat iron steaks were especially gorgeous and I would like to single out two servers. The first was a well built guy with a lot of tatoo's on his forearm (don't know his name) and the second was Klaudia (spelt with a K) ... so thank you both for some excellent service

I took my grown up nieces and nephews here for lunch on Saturday and we had the best time. For many reasons I wanted this to be a really lovely place to take them, have great food and a relaxed fun time. Lambs, the waitress, the food and ambiance exceeded all expectations. We sat upstairs and the room has a great sense of history and charm. I am celiac and was reassured at every step, they even have a GF menu and take it very seriously (as they should but many places sadly don't) Between us we had the Mexican chicken, lamb shank, flat steak and salmon. Everyone loved their food and went for puddings too. Portions were good and presentation beautiful. Our waitress - sorry not to have got her name was absolutely wonderful, kind, friendly and made us feel so welcome. She was just the best!!!! Thank you all so much - especially the chefs who we don't get to thank. What you do here is way above so many restaurants and you gave us such a happy fulfilling dining experience that set us up for a very happy family day.

We had a lovely dinner at the Lambs with various mains, starters and deserts. Everything came as a small surprise but was really delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful. We will go there again!

Came for my partner's birthday. We didn't have a reservation but had hoped we could sit outside as it looked so cosy and special with blankets and heated lamps available. The food was sensational. Even just the bread basket was special! We had the salted cod croquettes, I had the sea bream while my partner had the duck and we finished sharing the the pear and almost tart and chocolate marble cake. Everything was so flavourful and cooked to perfection. Really reasonably priced considering how fabulous everything was, especially as we came on a Thursday so one half of the meal was on the pre-fix menu. The service was amazing. We were looked after so well by Anna and Molly who were incredibly friendly and helpful with our choices. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We walked in after checking into a local Airbnb and we were delighted to be shown to a lovely table in the corner. We were served by two or three friendly and professional waiting staff. The food we ordered was delicious, the prices reasonable and the overall experience absolutely lovely. We would highly recommend Lambs

Sunday Lunch very disappointing We went with high hopes but was let down. We both had the roast lamb which was very chewy and roast potatoes which were hard on the outside (not crispy) and really chewy too. The vegetables were very average but the cauliflower cheese I have was excellent. We asked for bread to share but that did not arrive. We went to Miller and Carter the night before and that was excellent. (So would recommend going there instead!)

One word fabulous. Excellent food, very high quality, sea bream and duck beautifully cooked and wow to the crème brûlée would definitely recommend 10 out if 10

Our "go to" restaurant in Stratford upon Avon for a pre- or post-theatre dinner (or any other occasion really!) Excellent food, service and atmosphere.

We had a lovely time... great food, nicely presented and served with a smile. Very varied choice... in fact it was hard to choose between many favourites and so much fresh fish. And a lovely wine/drinks list. All in a beautiful, cosy, historic ambiance, in the heart of the town and just 2 mins from the RSC theatre and riverside. What's not to like? We'll be back.

I contacted this restaurant ahead of our visit to Stratford to enquire if they welcome dogs. I booked for 4( family group) & a dog. The restaurant replied very promptly to say they were dog friendly & indeed provided water& treats For our family group...

Been 3 times. The service is always efficient and helpful. Food is excellent value. Good quality. Not aiming for Michelin stars just tasty well presented decent sized meals. Beautiful building inside and out

The food was good and we liked what what we ordered. They kind of gave us the worst table even when others were empty. They said all tables were reserved but rather turned 2 tables in from of us while other were empty giving other guest a choice . If you a person of colour think again and I say this because they made us sit in a section which was in the corner and had no patrons for 40 mins of peak lunch time . So much for tables being reserved.

Had a fabulous meal here. I had the crispy sweet chilli pork salad, which was very nice. I followed with the special of pan-fried lemon sole, again very nice. The mussels here are a must. Our dinner companions had them, and they were huge. I would heartily recommend this place.

Delicious food chosen from the set menu. Sat outside in the courtyard area which was covered and looked newly decorated. It was a warm evening but noticed that they had heaters and blankets for cooler evenings. The staff were very attentive.

Mussels obviously reheated. Bread stale Sunday lunch - worst ever experienced Cold veg, poor quality meat, returned one meal to kitchen and chef and manager nowhere to be seen. Left complaint to be dealt with by waitress, poor way to treat staff.
