Wonderful evening with great food and wine and professional service. Could not fault it. Lived near Stratford for 4 years and been meaning to visit. It absolutely lived up to the great reputation it holds.

A lovely characterful restaurant with great staff serving fantastic food. We last ate here 15 years ago on a previous visit to Stratford and very pleased to experience another superb meal with friends.

Not a local resident but was interested to see if service and sauces were diferencial from other restaurants with simillar pricing on same street. Overall quality is top. Service impecable and sauces on starters and sides are what you look for as a palate balance. Plus to present a mushrom perfectly cooked as well as frites that do not navigate in oil means a very well done to the team overall.

Wonderful little place. All good things to say, the lamb was great, the kidneys were delicious and the sticky toffee pudding was superb. The only thing that could be enjoyed even more is if there were so much more cuts of lamb on the menu. Our server, Anna was very thorough and helpful throughout.

We came to Stratford upon Avon for the day and we booked here as the menu had lots of options to choose from. We were seated upstairs in the beautiful old building with its old beams giving it a lovely romantic feel. We ordered the beef carpaccio, my favourite starter and wasn’t disappointed, lovely tasty beef slices with a super generous amount of salad and parmigiana. My husband had the crayfish sales which he loved, he had the rack of lamb which he devoured as it’s was so good, and I had the chicken with ham and cheese stuffing, the cheese was lovely and oozing and creamy and came with potatoes and a jus, I was very full, but wow so good, presented nicely and tasted even better. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough.

I came for a pre-theatre dinner. I ordered the herbed lamb rack with dauphinoise potatos and it was simply heavenly! The meat was tender and the potatoes were cooked to perfection, buttery and creamy. I had the Riesling wine with the meal and it was a really good combination. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which was incredibly rich, moist and indulgent. The vanilla ice cream that accompanied it was creamy and super delicious, and the caramel sauce had a delicate bitterness to it that balanced the dessert quite nicely. The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave excellent recommendations. If you're visiting Stratford upon Avon, this is definitely the place to go!

Had a really enjoyable pre-theatre dinner. A small but very nice selection of choices from the Set Menu. The food was very good and the service excellent. Had three courses from the Set Menu for £27.50. Highly recommended and we will be back.

Been twice recently, once with friends and once the two of us. On both occasions, the menu was enticing with great specials/fish options, food was yummy, service was warm and friendly, and the vibe was of lots of people all having a good time. Lamb's never fails us.

Great restaurant tucked in a beautiful house offering a delicicous menu. Everything we ordered tasted extremely well, but if you opt to go for the lamb you will probably experience the best one you have ever had. Paired with the very attentive service this makes it a great place to visit in Straford upon Avon

Beautiful restaurant in the centre of Stratford. The building itself has a lot of character and the menu has a wide range of options which all look fantastic. I opted for the white onion soup followed by the lamb, whilst my partner decided on the special prawn and scallop starter with the sirloin steak as the main. All were delicious and beautifully presented. Flavours were wonderful and the food was expertly cooked. I was a bit let down by the sticky toffee pudding a the speed at which it arrived at the table indicated it wasn’t baked to order and the sponge didn’t have the same level of care as the rest of the food. But it was still enjoyable. We were going to watch a show for 7pm and whilst the bill arrived quickly when requested, it took a while for the waitress to come with the card machine. Nonetheless we had a really great time and I’d definitely done here again if I ever were to visit Stratford again.

We have loved this restaurant for a long time - a must when you go to Stratford, in our opinion. We went on Valentine's night as part of our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebrations, and were not disappointed. The staff, the food, the ambience and the lovely personal touches made it a beautiful evening for us. Thank you.

There are many good restaurants in Stratford but there are reasons why we always return to Lambs… Charming and historic location, good food at a reasonable price and friendly and professional service from Claudia and her excellent team. The lamb is a firm favourite but friends have sampled and enjoyed the whole menu. Thank you

Evening meal with 6 colleagues. Service exceptional, paced to the table - which appears to be a rarity these days. Advise and guidance on food and drink when requested. Variety of options from each course taken across the table and every plate was of high quality, fair portions and piping hot. Left feeling that our custom was valued and to deliver service to such a standard that we would have no choice but to return if we are in the area again - which of course we will!

Consistently high quality food, it's my favourite restaurant in the world! I regularly take myself to the theatre and they never make me feel weird about having a table for one. Looking forward to heading back in a few weeks for my birthday weekend ❤️

We had a table reserved for our Anniversary. We were greeted with a small sign on our table wishing us a Happy Anniversary 🥂 The food was delicious (rack of lamb) and the staff were wonderful. I would highly recommend Lambs as a place to dine 😊

Visited for lunch today with two daughters, for my birthday treat. All three of us chose Pave of Lamb. Serving staff were pleasant and efficient. The vegetables (good variety - 6, and generous portions) were very nicely cooked, but we were all disappointed with the lamb, especially mine, which was fatty/sinewy and too rare. (Personally, we should have been asked how we would have preferred it cooked, as we would have been for a beefsteak). The cut was not a pave, but several pieces more suited to a casserole or stew. We did mention this at the end of our meal to the server, who said she would feed back to the chef. The star of the show sadly wasn't.

Had supper here last week, we all said how exceptional the food and service was. One cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.

Having had a lovely Sunday lunch at Lambs before we had no qualms about booking it for our anniversary meal. However, after our experience today, we are regretting that decision and feel very let down. The food was good, don’t get me wrong, but having waited over 45 minutes for it with no communication we were frustrated and didn’t enjoy it as much as we should have. We’ve both worked in customer facing environments so appreciate that it’s tough, but being told “we’re busy today” when the food eventually came out just wasn’t good enough. There were plenty of members of staff around to appease disgruntled customers (we weren’t the only ones) and they chose not to. It just felt like every customer was an inconvenience, the communication and attentiveness was poor and so overall a very disappointing experience. In hindsight maybe we should’ve asked to speak to a manager but to be honest the time it took to even get the bill and pay for it we couldn’t face waiting even longer!

Booked a table here for the first time for a midweek lunch with a friend en route to a conference, and was unsure whether it would deliver on the hype. From the moment we walked in, however, it was obvious that its reputation was deserved. The building and interior is delightful. All low ceilings and dense, glowing natural wood. The lighting they have used makes it feel warm and inviting, and we received a friendly welcome from the maitre d and one of the waiting staff. We went for the set price lunch menu, which was astoundingly good value at £27.50 for three courses. A grilled goats cheese salad was flawlessly executed and gave rich flavours and textures in just the right size portion. I had a main course of salmon and leek supreme, which was comfort food at its best. My friend had the Cajun chicken which she pronounced delicious. Neither of us wanted to plump for just one pudding, so we did halvesies - a hazelnut parfait and pear and almond pud. These were both gorgeous, the perfect end to the meal. All of the food was so very beautifully cooked, and achieved that amazing quality of being wholly satisfying and flavoursome whilst perfectly weighted (I can’t find another word) and portioned. The service was kind and friendly and unobtrusive - shimmering like Jeeves into view just when needed. So in summary, Lamb’s delivers on every score. It’s rare for me to say this about a restaurant, but I cannot think of any area at all in which the staff could look to improve. Five stars. Would recommend.

Really good service and the food was perfectly cooked .l had pork and my wife had sea bream fillet . The food was served on warm plates and not on silly black roof slates If we were to eat off roof slates we would all sit on the roof 😂😂😂

The food was ok , put it was over priced for what we got. £28 for a 8 ounce steak thought it would have £18 instead. Don't think we go back there again.

We enjoyed our Al fresco lunch so much yesterday . Cosy throws supplied to keep the chill off and lovely curtious service. Extremely fresh produce being served and a fabulous wine list . It is refreshing to see these standards, especially in a tourist town , most enjoyable meal out thank you , well done lambs 10/10

First visit to Straford and had an evening meal here. It was fantastic. The food was incredibly well prepared, fresh and interesting. I had the lamb chops and they were expertly cooked and slightly pink. I can say they were the best lamb chops I have ever had. And the potato accompaniment was unusual and delicious. My wife had a vegetarian option which again was interesting and delicious. Staff were excellent and amusing. The building is wonderful, lots of levels and rooms, although we dined outside.

Food is nice but not exceptional. Good atmosphere, but not at all set up for people with limited mobility (2 flighta of awkward stairs for the toilet). Server was lovely and service generally good but one drink was forgotten about.

Dissappointed with the Sunday lunch , pork was beautiful but the lamb very tough and tasteless. Roast potatoes tasted and looked like they were frozen one - tasteless and hard to cut , veg was average but the yorkshire puddings were definitely homemade . Wont be going back .

Such a lovely ,quirky building and the food was pretty brilliant too !

My ribeye steak was lovely but my wife's sea bass was so small and dry! She's a petite lady but the fish was hardly a main course. Up to now we have always enjoyed Lambs as we are locals but she was thoroughly underwhelmed on this occasion.

We absolutely loved this old cottage restaurant. We went there twice for dinner we tasted the rack of lamb the rebeye the seabass and many more everything was cooked at perfection made from scratch with high sourced produce, service was attentive and the ambience was lovely and cosy. We will definitely be back once in Stratford upon Avon.

One of the best little restaurants I have been in for a long time. Set 2 course lunch at 21.50 was great. We were seated and served quickly and efficiently. The waitress was exceptional with friendliness and forward thinking (things like checking if coffee served with or after dessert). Food was high quality French based cuisine. I had a cajan chicken, and my partner had sea bream, mine with thin fries and a small side salad. Desserts were a big slab of sticky toffee pudding, and a creme brulee. Presentation could have been a little better for both, but tasted wonderful.

Great find in Stratford. Separate gluten free menu with plenty of choice. Beautifully cooked food, friendly staff and reasonably priced for the quality of ingredients. Highly recommend.

The food was good, though it didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the price. While the dishes were tasty and well-presented, they lacked that extra something to make them truly exceptional. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely, providing a comfortable and enjoyable setting for our meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit.

From the moment you enter the restaurant, you cannot fail to be impressed. You are greeted with a warm welcome from the staff. The building is incredible with some very quirky features. The food was absolutely delicious and couldn't fault a thing. The presentation was excellent and food cooked to perfection. The service was first class, they were very efficient, but you weren't rushed. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return.

It was a pre-theatre visit so there was limited time to soak up the atmosphere but the surroundings were pleasant. Service was very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious.

It could be great - the chefs know what they're doing. But crispy duck salad, while fabulous on one level, was just leathery flesh that had been reheated once too often. And a great pear and almond tart in delicious créme anglaise was spoiled by being heated to an ungodly temperature in a microwave. Pity.

An excellent pre-theatre menu. I went with the fried halloumi, followed by sea bass and finished with pear and almond tart with creme anglais (posh Bakewell tart with custard, but when it tastes this good can be forgiven ;-) washed down with a marvellous rosé.

We were recommended this restaurant by good friends who are regulars. The whole experience was very good and the food and service deserving 5 stars. This remained the case until the moment we asked for the bill with the intention of leaving a generous tip. However at this juncture the waitress/manager/owner I’m not sure of her position turned aggressively against a member of staff in the public area and then stomped around clearly in a foul mood taking our payment without a smile or thanks and of course we left no tip and went. What a shame she spoiled it for us. Perhaps some extra training could be made available to her !

We were visting Stratford Upon Avon and this was our first evening. Lambs was recommended to us by a very helpful taxi driver. We looked at all the eateries on Sheep Street and decided to give Lambs a go. Lucky we did, the food was excellent, the service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Overall we were very pleasantly surprised.

Stumbled upon this beautiful place whilst walking through Stratford Upon Avon trying to find somewhere to have lunch with my mum and Dennis the dog. Stunning little heated outside terrace invited us in by advertising dog friendly on the board outside. What a find! Friendly, welcoming staff showed us to a table, put on the heaters, gave us blankets if we were cold (it was raining outside) and got us a drink and brought Dennis a bowl and treats too. We had the lunch sandwiches which were amazing and very good value, the staff were very attentive - overall I can’t fault this place. I only realised when I went inside how big the restaurant was and so warm and friendly. Lovely gem of a place - a must visit if you’re in the area.

Five of us ate here (3 adults and two children) and had a fantastic meal. Service was excellent and the food delicious. We had lamb, steak, chicken and hake, couldn’t fault any of it. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Ate here on Tuesday evening before the England game and opted for the 3 course ‘pre theatre’ menu. Everything about this place is quality from the old, atmospheric decor to the excellent customer service and top notch food! Drinks were top quality too and washed down a very enjoyable meal nicely. Will definitely book Lamb’s again on my return to Stratford!

Not the cheapest place in town but quality comes at a price. Consistently good and I’ve been going on and off for over 15yrs. All my customers I bring are not disappointed.

We went there for a pre-theatre birthday dinner. There were several of us meeting up and I was concerned with the timing due to the theatre booking, but the staff were superb, flexible and attentive but not overly so and the food arrived in good time. Lovely environment and delicious mains. I really appreciated that the wine was all organic as well. You helped make a special evening for us all, thank you.

Pleasant atmosphere, good service and well prepared dishes. Lamb Rump and the fish of the day (halibut) were excellent choices. The dishes were very tasty. The restaurant has several environments and was an excellent gastronomic experience. I recommend!

Seriously generous and tasty portions in a very atmospheric building, with low ceilings and uneven floors. Despite the setting, the cooking is quite modern, and the size of the desserts would put any London restaurant to shame. Our hostess was Klaudia, and she was really great 😊

Average food and quality, decent price , staff friendly but not attention was given, as I stand now at the table after 40 min in the restaurant, none of the staff has asked how is food and how we feel after seeing them going to everyone else to ask and look after. Can it be because we were the only table not speaking english...? Not coming back for sure and not recomending to friends

Fabulous place to eat. Friendly, attentive staff and incredible food. When we arrived and were shown to our table it was very warm. Without asking, the waitress showed us to another table by an open window. Very thoughtful.

We have eaten here several times over a few years, before we go to the theatre. Last night was very disappointing, especially so as it was also our wedding anniversary. We had the liver, which we have had previously, the portion size was poor compared to previous visits and it wasn't as well cooked and I don't mean well done! I had the cheese board and again the amount was paltry. Three small pieces of cheese, the blue wasn't too bad but the other two, whatever they were, were completely non-descript. Such a big let down.

Went for a birthday lunch, and had an excellent meal. The waiting staff were attentive and personable. It was a nice touch putting a candle in the birthday boys pudding!

We had dinner here while visiting Stratford-upon-avon. Both Cajun chicken and duck dishes were very good. My only complaint was the Cotswolds bread sides/appetizer, they looked like just day old cold bread. Not something u expect paying almost 5 pounds for a few slices.
