Lovely food! Nice variety of dishes. Naan was fabulous!!! Atmosphere was nice and inviting and the staff were friendly.

Service was incredibly slow. 75 minutes before the starter arrived. Food tbh was delicious however. The table next to us asked for the bill and were offered complimentary drinks. We asked for the bill and thought complimentary drinks would be offered as is customary with every local restaurant we have used. Nothing. Bill arrived. We ordered drinks anyway. Port and Bailey. The bill was taken away and £40 added to the bill. So sad as it really did spoil the evening. Based on that alone I won’t eat there again. Money grabbing at its best.

Authentic Nepalese run Indian restaurant with great service, selection of meals and a cosy atmosphere. We ate all vegetarian and enjoyed 3 dishes from the veggie sides with rice, a naan and popadoms to start. Everything was delicious & hot temperature wise, not over hot spice wise, just right for us. Had to wait a long time for the food , once we had finished he asked us to leave as customers were waiting to come in , the waiter bought the bill straight away and the card machine and became quite rude that we didn't pay instantly! I would not go back .

I have had butter chicken from many places but the butter chicken from Lal is to die for....pair it with the home made Garlic Naan and homemade yoghurt. Your mouth will dance with flavour. My husband had the lamb Rogan Josh and said it was the best he has had. Treat yourself

Will probably never eat here again. Used to be very good when Lamba used to run it. Now its the worst. Bad points: - Food is absolutely disgusting. The prawns in the puri were extremely small (taste was ok). They used old meat from the mutton bhuna. The chicken tikka had small pieces and sauce was so sweet it should be a dessert. - No salad or dips provided. Before they even used to give free papadums

We went on a Monday evening and initially thought starters and drinks, but decided to go for mains. My partner ordered the Magic Momos and I ordered Nepal Kalio along with Garlic Naan & Pilau Rice. She loved the Momos and the Garlic Naan and I liked the Nepal Kalio, however, I would have liked it hotter. The only downside was the Pilau Rice. I heard the microwave and the rice was dry so it wasn't freshly cooked. Service was excellent and we will definitely go back. Very Good means room for improvement, but it was just the rice which let it down. Hopefully my next review will be Excellent!

My friends and I attended and we all ate absolutely delicious, fragrant and spicy (to our own personal taste) food. It is a smaller restaurant and I believe also offers a takeaway service and it is absolutely delightful.

Food was just OK, a little tasteless, and portions of curry could have been better. Ordered 2 chicken tikka birianyi & a garlic nan bread. Nan bread was cold & really hard & chewy to eat. The birianyi was dry, the chicken overcooked & definitely not enough of the curry sauce to go with the rice.

Delicious food, fantastic staff, as always ordered the too much food, but got I all packed up to feast on later! We will definitely be back!

We have been going here since the middle of COVID and the owner and staff are all lovely and the food excellent, especially the fish Curry, Nadi Machhali, if you live locally, give it a try, you won't be Dissapointed.

We hadn't visited this restaurant before so were nervous that it might be bad particularly as there are so negative reviews. But we need not have worried as the food was fresh, fantastic and very tasty and the service was excellent, quick and very polite. This is not a cheap and cheerful restaurant so if that's your thing this is not for you.

Amazing service and even better food. Had no clue what i was ordering yet i knew whatever i would get would meet all my demands and was delicious. The waiters were polite and had amazing services, and the whole presentation of the whole restaurant and food and how everything was served was phenomenal. Even better that the food is very affordable yet feels like i'm in a private restaurant which would cost hundreds of pounds. Would recommend for any event, should definitely try this restaurant.

This restaurant has delicious Indian and Nepali food. Always cooked well and served quickly. The staff are helpful and they created a large square table so our group could sit around and were able to chat easily. Very friendly and good value! Thanks. !

We go here as the food and service is always spot on. We love the authentic menu, portion sizes are good too. We use them for our take away too. Another group of ours try and do our get togethers there too and they accommodate a 10+ group with ease. Overall, I would highly recommend Lal Akash in Cheam to anyone who loves Indian food. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable.

Consistently good food, very personable staff, & a pub opposite for a few beforehand…… What’s not to like about that! Maybe a tad more expensive than other places, but definitely worth it. Oh, and the most tender lamb I’ve ever eaten.

Do not order a lamb dish from here. They will charge for lamb but the dish you order will be a cheaper cut of beef, but most certainly they will charge you for a more expensive meat: lamb.

We have been visiting this restaurant for years and have always always loved the food sadly on this visit whilst we were the only people dining in the restaurant for the first hour of our visit we had to wait 40 minutes for our starter when we complained we were told that they had a few big takeaway orders then later the chap (who was always prior to this was very pleasant) wanted to argue not quite what we expected.

Such a lovely meal @ Lal Akash, complimentary Baileys was a bonus too. Glad to support local restaurants during the pandemic.

My family have been coming to Lal Akash for years because the atmosphere is lovely, the staff are really friendly and the food is always delicious. The menu has recently changed and I have to say it has got even tastier! Would definitely recommend if in the area or nearby - you won’t be disappointed! Genuinely think it’s the best you’ll find!

This has been my favourite local indian restaurant for years but tonight was poor. Meal took 2 hour to travel 2 miles despite being told it was on route after 45 mins ..and when it arrived..the order was wrong

Ive had many a curry over the years, but this by far was the best!! We had the Sizzler (Lamb) and it was delivered to us on a hot sizzle plate... it is one of those dishes that everybody else in the restaurant turns around and looks at as the waiter brings it over and wishes they had ordered... the rice was plentiful and the naan bread was delicious. Will definitely return, thank you Lal Akash for such great service!

Placed an order at about 8.10pm through YoYo that states " Enjoy fast takeaway service & delivery right to your door." Their advertising suggests a wait of about 45 minutes but after having paid we were informed it would be delivered after 9.30pm. Fast? No. Misleading? Yes. I phoned Lal Akash directly wanting to cancel because of the extended delivery time and intending to order elsewhere. I was told the delay was because of a large order but they were unable to cancel my order (small - about £27). By about 9.40pm nothing had arrived so I phoned, my order hadn't been cooked and could be ready in about another 30 minutes! I went to bed hungry. I have enjoyed eating at The Lal Akash on several occasions under previous management. I am disappointed that on this occasion I am unable to provide a more useful opinion.. I await a refund.

Convenient location, good food and good service. Hand sanitiser was available and tables seemed adequately spaced. We felt very comfortable here and will definitely go back.

2 of us dined here for the EOTHO, they took around 10 minutes to take our drinks order. The chicken quality was pretty poor, i asked for a Makhanki Madras hot and it was plain with no spice. They also gave us the wrong amount on our bill with added drinks. 2 mains 2 rice and 3 poppadoms at £100 before the 50% discount is not a good deal for the experience tbh. I feel bad giving a local a bad review but wont go back.

Just had a very large dinner with my family of 4. Have been going to Lal Akash for years, but it's recently changed owners. I'm happy to say that the food is still excellent, and the portions are still generous! The service was great too, and we will definitely be returning soon!!!

This place is one of my personal favourites. I have been here more than 15 times in total last year this is one of my weekend place for long time. IF I am having an india yes I prefer Lal Akash, I have tried most of the indian restaurants in this area but the taste wise lal aksh is excellent . I Have tried most of their dishes my favourites are chicken tikka masala, rosan ada murgha, tandoori chicken and king prawn tikka masala. They do fantastic tandoori mix grill.I normally order it with a cobra as my starter ... if u going there try these dishes dudes you don't regret.staffs are excellent they always been very friendly and polite.

The food tastes authentic and the service provided exceeds expectations. Both the food and the quality of service is the best I have experienced in Cheam. I would recommend this to anyone looking for great tasting Indian cuisine.

Usually when in Cheam I visit the curry restaurant next door. This evening they had shut early meaning that my friend and I went to Lal Akash. What a lucky event! Lal Akash is better on every level. Food is superb, cooked fresh and no hard sell on drinks and sundries. Service was friendly and helpful and the food itself was plentiful, hot and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant as a far superior experience to the other curry restaurants in Cheam. I look forward to returning.
