Had a lovely meal at Akash! The food was delicious, and everything we ordered came out perfectly. The staff were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. Would definitely come back for the chicken curry!

Had takeaway a few times. Decided to pop in for a change. Delicious food as usual. Staff very pleasant. Shame it was so quiet mid week but were doing a roaring takeaway trade.

Me and my family got this for take away once we got it home we had the wrong stuff for a start. The chicken was pink and tasted horrible. I called the establishment and then once they answered they told me that the pibk chicken was to do with the colouring of the source.

We ate in the Akash for many years, but since Covid we have only been a couple of times, but disappointed. We have just had a takeaway, the food was back to the how it used to be, we have really enjoyed it, and delivered on time, nice and hot. Will definitely be ordering again. Thanks

Food was perfect, staff were genuine and very friendly, service was great as it wasn't too busy, atmosphere was very earthy and calming. The chef was very friendly and chatty as well. Only my dad's chicken tikka gave him heart burn, but that's a dad problem and nothing to do with the food.

Not been to this Indian for years so thought I would visit again. Restaurant was decorated nicely , young ladies serving were polite. Food was quite expensive but was nice ( had better ). What I was disappointed with , is them adding service charge when there was only me and my son , we were in there literally 40 mins. I think it should be an option not made to pay it.

A rather unpleasant experience. I booked a table for two at this restaurant on 14th March 2024 we had booked via an app called “the fork” a trusted restaurant booking platform. There were deals for local restaurants which were offering a 50% discount on your meal (I imagine to entice customers into restaurants on weekdays) Akash Wallington was a participating restaurant. We made reservations and hopped in a cab to the restaurant. We ordered and ate our meals. It came time to pay and the restaurant refused to honour the 50% discount. We produced our restaurant booking, we showed them the app they had signed up to which clearly displayed a -50%. The owner was unaware he was a participating member and subsequently blamed his daughter for signing up to this without his knowledge. The owner and waiter then made excuse after excuse as to why they would not allow 50% off our bill. The excuses were as follows…we didn’t say we had booked with the fork upon arrival, he didn’t know about this offer, his daughter signed him up the final excuse being this is “the forks “ error not ours. They reduced our bill from £75 to £56 but that’s not 50% off our original bill. We paid our bill, the owner then slammed the door behind us. We subsequently contacted “the fork” who were apologetic and offered us 2000 yums, the equivalent of £50. Akash are still signed up the fork and the 50% discount for the whole month of March. This is clearly misleading and warrants a notification to trading standards.

Fantastic service and amazing food.. large portions. Staff are welcoming and friendly as always. Great takeaway! But great to eat in aswell... .we will be back

Been coming to the akash for nearly 30 years I had my 10th,13th 16th birthday there (im now 35) and today my mother's 60th birthday. The food is always fantastic I've not had any better across the country. Lovely staff and made us feel very welcome and appreciated.

Came out with my family for a nice dinner in a Friday night to Akash. We have been coming here for a very long time and they never disappointed us. I had a briyani and I was extraordinary. Also the waiter named Jasmine was so nice and very helpful. Definitely would return

I visited Akash for their new tasting menu and was extremely impressed with the quality of their food, presentation, and an excellent service from the staff. The tasting menu was a 5-course delight of a modern take on traditional Indian flavours and was a genuinely great evening meal out with friends. Personally, my favourite was the chicken chettiyar, but the tandoori prawn with tilapia was a close second and all the meat were cooked perfectly and so tender. On top of the great taste, the menu was excellent value for a 5-course meal. A real hidden gem in Wallington and would definitely be eating here again.

This has been my favourite Indian restaurant for more than 35 years. Everything is always perfect. Whether we dine in or have a takeaway, there's always perfection each and every time. The staff are friendly, the food is always excellent (never had a wrong order when ordering a takeaway for collection). The service is always superb when eating in and the time wait for takeaways is fair, considering how busy the kitchen must be.

We have dined here a few times and always enjoyed the food immensely. The new menu is divine and very modern. This is just what we need in wallington for a fine dining experience without being overpriced. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the service and food.

Through word of mouth we heard this was a great curry house so ignored the review score and went for it. Vegetable samosas were divine! The chutney for the popodoms high class and beautiful authentic flavoursome curries. The owners are lovely and went above and beyond for the 6 year old we had with us. Ignore the score and have a lovely evening at Akash!

First time coming to akash, recommended by a friend. I'm very dubious about trying new Indian restaurants as I find quite a few very greasy and, for me unediable. This is my new favourite Indian restaurant, the food is amazing and tasty, the service is on point and the meat isn't fatty. My only regret is they don't deliver to my area. I will definitely be coming back! 5 out of 5!

Good food but sadly the two staff serving were overwhelmed by the orders of the customers so we had quite a wait. Also no draft lager which was a shame.

I've been going here for 30 years best curry around so decided to celebrate my 60th birthday. We had a private party for 30 people, spoke to Mr Kahn before hand to agree price per head and the menu available. On the night the restaurant was decorated beautifully, everyone enjoyed the food, the service and the whole evening. Thank you

If you are looking authentic asian food, you will be disappointed. Food was very average (indian food for British people). But service was fantastic.

Best food in Wellington and surrounding areas. Great food , great ingredients. Best ingredients and genuine cooking . Great friendly small restaurant. Friendly, fast & polite service. Not many people know this small humble great restaurant with the best cooking in London! Food is excellent with higher standards and best fresh ingredients! Eating is a pleasure and this is the right place to go if you want to enjoy great , genuine and authentic food. I travelled all over the world and never found such good way of cooking and once you taste for the first time their cooking you will notice immediately the quality and goodness of their food. I wish more people knew this great small great restaurant . I am The Italian customer with the English husband Mark😀

I now go to this restaurant regularly since finding it as the quality of the food is top notch. Very friendly and highly attentive staff. It definitely deserves the 5 star review I have given it. I was there last night again and had a lovely meal so thanks to Anthony and the proprietor, Mr Khan.

Love this place. Fab staff, great atmosphere and excellent food with large portions and lots of choice. Been going here for many years.

As it was mid-week, the restaurant was quiet, apart from our group of 9. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bar is fully stocked with a wide range of drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. The food quantity was big, and included chicken curry, vegetable curries, nans, rice and papadams. The only criticism I would have is that the food was a bit bland, and needed spicing up.

We have just odered and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious take away meal from Akash Tandoori in Wallington. So much so that i wanted to post this review. Thankyou to the chefs at Akash,we look forward to our next meal from Akash.

Went to this restaurant as our usual The Grange was fully booked.It was a Saturday evening and we were the only 2 people there which we did think was a bit odd? We were greeted by a very friendly and courteous young girl.We ordered a beer and a mango lassi - beer arrived but we were later informed the kitchen couldn’t knock up a mango lassis. We ordered a mixed grill between us for starters - the menu description stated it included a nan, chicken tikka, kebab, paneer and some other type of chicken. After waiting 50 minutes we made several enquiries and about 15 minutes later the owner came out with a sad looking sizzling plate containing only a few bits of chopped up chicken tikka & lamb kebab - he said “here make a start on this”! We asked where the other items were and he said the nan will come soon eat this first”! When we said what about the paneer and other chicken, he aggressively and loudly shouted “you didn’t order paneer”. We told him it’s on the menu description and he denied it! So we asked him to read the menu in front of us and when he saw we were correct he started mumbling something about someone else writing the menu and stormed off!The unfortunate waitress who was standing nearby came over apologising profusely for his behaviour. She was full of embarrassment. We told her it wasn’t her fault but we really couldn’t stay after that and she said she fully understood and didn’t expect us to pay for the drinks and 2 papadoms we had.My husband and I were really looking forward to a nice evening out and good food and instead the owner ruined it with his ineptness, poor attitude and greed - he was clearly prioritising phone orders over the 2 of us in the restaurant.It’s a shame that when the place got renovated he didn’t!! I think his daughter who runs the kitchen with him but wasn’t there that evening would most likely be appalled by his disgraceful behaviour. We won’t be returning.

Akash Indian cuisine in the heart of Wallington Stafford road is just another world of food that u probably will not find in anywhere else in London the way they cook all there curry dishes is just so Devine and everything is prepared daily they don’t make old left over curry’s I have tried many curry places in the local area and I haven’t found anything like this ever there spicy curry’s and Nan breads is just so delicious and tasty there dips are so tasty like I said this is the best curry place there is in London also they been serving us during this hard covid 19 times via delivery Uber eats and deliveroo once a week is our treat for sure allways 5 *****stars and thank you Akash 🙂

Just had a take away from Akash Tandoori, not a difficult order for 2 people! Ordered chicken biryani no veg curry with it! Phoned and complained went to collect the veg curry and was given bombay aloo! Couldn't be bothered to go back original curry already cold but phoned and told them! Onion bhargis like rock and stuffed paratha not stuffed! Not sure if changed ownership but premium price for appalling service. If you're looking for a great curry don't bother with Akash!

Just been to Akash tonight with my best mates from school. Love the new layout and refurb they've done.Was quiet when we came in at 8pm but a few other people came in after us.The 4 of us ordered lots of food and I asked for my Byriani to be prawn which they happily accommodated even if it wasn't on the menu.The service was quick, friendly and efficient and the staff were very attentive without being over bearing.Then we ordered several starters, 2 Byrianis, a Rogan Josh and a tikka dish and the usual fare of poppadoms and chutney and several sundry items.The food when it came was hot, delicious and generously portioned, washed down with some excellent Cobra beers.Overall a fab evening complimented by the staff and management and the excellent service we received.

Myself and my partner visited this restaurant yesterday, we had a table booked although we didn't need to because the restaurant was empty(not a good sign), the pickles with the poppadums were barely edible. So, much for the yogurt dip , i normally love! It was just like tinned milk, and didn't taste as good. I had main course chicken tikka, served with no salad, just a few onions and peppers. My partner had chicken tikka massala, which was very bland and untasty. Won't be visiting again

Recent high quality updates in this restaurant have bought the dining experience to a new level. The introduction of the new Bombay Pizza is a great addition to their menu. If you love indian food, this place is highly recommended.

Food delivered on time, was hot, tasty and well packaged.

I've had fabulous meals here in the past but haven't been for ages. Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good as it has been in the past. Liberal use of what I can only assume is food dye in the pilau rice (very yellow) and korahi prawn (bright red) made them quite comical/shocking to the eye. Is there perhaps new management? And the new sign and menu for Bombay Pizza suggests that the focus is now going to be more modern, fusion than traditional dishes. Such a shame as we drove from Thornton Heath to collect but probably will need to look for something closer to home now.

I have used the restaurant for many years and it’s always been a favourite of mine. During the lockdown they have had a complete makeover, with an ‘open’ kitchen, looks great and has now reopened. Had a fabulous meal there last night, highly recommend.

Me ,my family and my friends have been ordering and dining here for years. I have seen all of the negative reviews and some of them must be either exaggerated or even not true. Like someone saying they got kicked out for having a baby that cried once. The food that I have ordered has always been perfect and every time i dine in we have a pleasant expirience. We are greeted at the door and even when you go to collect you are offered a seat at the lounge area and can purchase drinks if needed. Atmosphere is great and seating area is what you would expect for a restaurant. Timing is a bit slow but I would rather have my food take a bit longer and be perfect than quick food that may be rushed. I see alot of people who take stars off just because of speed but the food makes up for it.

I've been a customer over 35 years, best curry for miles

We have been using the Akash for years and have always enjoyed our meals but unfortunately our takeaway meal tonight was of a poor standard and quality. The Tandoori King Prawn was like a piece of tyre rubber it had not been butter flyed and was well overcooked. Bhajees were mushy and soaked in oil, they were not crispy or the usual size (these were like golf balls) The prices have gone up and the quality down, we will no longer use the Akash and find somewhere the chef knows how to cook sea food. This decision has not been taken lightly as we have noticed for some time a marked deterioration in the food. We ordered at 5:30pm and the food arrived at 6:45pm we were told it would be half an hour.

Myself and my Fiance' unexpectedly dropped into AKASH after leaving a good friends 60th Birthday celebrations. AKASH is local to us and we both enjoy a good RubyMurray and most certainly were not disappointed. It was raining when we arrived and the first waiter opened and held open the entrance door for us both, ushered us in and allowed us to choose our table, which we did. As we sat down we were politely asked if we would like some drinks and whilst that waiter went off to fetch them a very young, politely spoken young lady brought us 2 menus, explained how their menu system and special offers worked and left us for a few minutes whilst we decided and sipped our freshly prepared drinks.My fiance' had a question for the young lady referring to her food choice and whilst she was unable to answer directly she promptly excused herself to go and quickly find the answer, which she did.As our delicious, perfectly warmed, not hot, food arrived we enjoyed sampling the various dishes, served very professionally in chrome serving dishes, before loading our pre-warmed dishes with the various dishes that we had ordered.Upon finishing we were asked if we would like to take the unfinished dishes away for our breakfast!!!!!, which we did, they were placed into new, clean takeaway containers and put into a very handy and easy to carry brown paper bag which was brought to our table with the question of we would like Tea or Coffee or a complimentary aperitif, Bailey, Whiskey etc?. We were politely usherred to the door, bid a fond farewell and dashed to our car in the still falling rain.Would we return to AKASH? Yes we most certainly would and very much look forward to when we can.

We ordered a takeaway as we usually do with two small kids and Akash never disappoints. Hot, tasty and filling meals with so much taste.Friendly staff and a decent preparation time (we dont mind a wait if it tastes this good!)Will definitely continue to go back and pick up our takeaway, with a cheeky pint while I wait!

I have lived around this area for many years now, restaurants have come and gone, I have not visited the Akash for years, I met up with a friend tonight who does not reside around these parts, we had a couple of drinks and headed for a curry as we had planned, myself telling her of this place that has been around for years although I have not been there for quite some time. Well I was very disappointed, we were served by a guy who had a 2 day growth of beard and was chewing gum as he spoke, so unprofessional and not too pleasing on the eye .... the food arrived and I can only describe it as tasteless, luke warm and not a patch on a takeaway I have used for 20 years or more very nearby ..... the attitude of staff was one of " we don't care less ", mingled with a certain arrogance .... continue chewing your gum mate as I will never entertain this place again .... I have made a mistake thinking about it now as it should have been 1 star only .......poor food, poor service and poor attitude, coupled with some guy who is maybe the amateurish manager shouting the odds in a sparsely filled eatery, not restaurant ....

Amazing food shame about the service although the manager kindly apologise about the staffing level and skill mix when we left. Unfortunately the waiter who managed our bill was very aggressive but cannot fault the manager or food.

Have to say a bit disappointed by our recent visit, whilst the food was good it was quite expensive considering it was a set menu and the service slow considering the restaurant wasn't over busy.

Came here with a friend on a Monday evening for a meal and a catch up. We ordered from the midweek special menu as it had everything we needed, and we were very happy with both the service and the food, as well as the price.It was very quiet being a Monday, but I liked the set up with the booths separating the tables to give more privacy when the restaurant is busy.I will definitely return.

Had a lovely get together for 60th birthday with 10 people. They unexpectedly provided balloons and a cake! Nothing was to much trouble. Good food and Excellant service.

Went there last week. As usual food quality very good. However different staff. Two big parties in and the staff didn't have the expertise to accommodate couples just having a meal out. Waited ages for food and drinks. Waitress very rude. Kept leaning across me her arm virtually touching my face to clear dishes. Unacceptable. Clearly needs training.

The food is tasty but the service is painfully slow!! All in all we were there for about three hours! So if you're in a hurry I'd go elsewhere... But if you do have the time then you will enjoy the food, it's just s shame about the service

Ate here on Friday evening with a group of friends. Must praise the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful in dealing with a large group. We chose from the set menu and the food was plentiful. My only criticism was that I felt my dish was a little dry and if I am honest one of the others didn’t look very appetising. Would definitely go again though. Thank you

been here several times and loved it ! came last night and we're served stale pompadoms asked for fresh ones got more stale ones !waited 40 mins for a drink each time we ordered one. food wasn't great like last time dont know what's happened maybe the chef was off ?julie

I've written a few reviews for this restaurant over the years - some good and some bad, however the meal i had tonight was one of the best i ever had in my life. The place has had a revamp, there's more staff and clearly an exceptional chef. All the dishes were freshly prepared even the puffed up handmade buttered nan. The Chicken Tikka Masala was packed with flavour and was to die for. This place has really changed for the better.

In my opinion the best curry in wallington. Flavours and service are first class. Try it for yourself

My family and I have been ordering from Akash for awhile now and every time we are more than satisfied! Mr. Yawar Khan is very friendly and accommodating. He is a very strong figure within the Asian catering industry here in the UK and it truly shows from the quality of his cuisine. I strongly recommend the Pangaash / Fish Jalfrezi with pilu rice, the fish basically melts in your mouth as it is so tender and flavourful. Unlike many Indian restaurants that insist in serving frozen goods as starters, Akash has taken the extra step into hand making their food such as the samosas (which must be tried!). It is always a nice touch when the owner of the restaurant himself comes to deliver at your doorstep, really shows the his enthusiasm towards customer service. Keep up the hard work Mr Khan and I shall be placing an order again very soon.

Probably one of the worst curries I've ever had. Bland run-of-the mill Anglo-Bangladeshi cooking with no skill or finesse.

We have been coming to this restaurant for years, the food is totally amazing and the service is great, we would recommend this restaurant to anyone, the restaurant is clean and has recently had a refurbishment which really gives that modern feel

We arrived and were seated,there were 8 of us, we ordered drinks which came and we then ordered starters, there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant so they were hardly busy! We waited over half an hour for our starters and when they came out one of them was wrong!

Our 'local and the food is always amazing. Recently refurbished resteraunt looks pretty nice but we usually just get a takeaway as we have a young one and it's easier.

Never in all my life have I been asked to leave a restaurant. Tonight I got asked to leave the Akash because my 11 month old baby cried because she want her bottle and the manager did want to upset his other 6 customers. I have never been so embarrassed in all my life. I would stay clear if you have kids as the manager has made it very clear they are not welcome.

Went here a few months back and it was one of the worst meals out I've ever had. Despite pre booking the table, we had to wait 15 minutes for them to get the table ready. They then let us sit there for nearly half an hour before finally bringing out the drinks menus and only gave 2 minutes for us to decide what we wanted (despite having been sat there for 30 minutes!). They then didn't bring out one of the drinks which we had to remind them about.

Me he comido aquí por años, ya sea un llevar o comer fuera. La comida nunca decepciona y el personal estupendo. Las porciones son de un buen tamaño y siempre a tiempo.

I went with my family for a nice meal to The Akash. We decided to try this place as we had not been in a very long while. When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty and looking back, we should have realised there was a reason behind this. The staff were being bossed around by the owner and did not look very happy to be there. Although they were attentive, they were very quiet and slow- unless they were being shouted at by the manager. Whilst waiting for our food, the manager stormed into the kitchen and started shouting extremely loud at them (by this point there were two more groups at the restaurant who all looked as concerned as we were). Whilst the manager was yelling at the the top of his voice, the kitchen staff were yelling loudly back and this created a very unwelcoming atmosphere. This happened a few times and made us very uncomfortable. Whilst we were waiting for our food, the manager was practically screaming down the phone to customers who had been waiting for 40 minutes saying 'give me another 40!'. This added to the unpleasantness. Our food came and it was mediocre. The portions were small however they were nice. Not amazing but not as bad as we, by this point, expected it to be. We ate it in a hurry as we didn't want to stay too long in the unfriendly environment. Over all, the experience was not great. We felt very uncomfortable and found it very hard to relax and enjoy the meal. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wishes to go for a peaceful meal ( I would recommend Mango Lounge instead).

Expensive restaurant ( coke can cost £4 ) and not at all friendly service. Nothing particularly good about taste of food either. So why choose?
