We were hungry for some laksa. Found this place online. It was expensive for what they serve. Singapore laksa was NOT authentic at all. Being Singaporean, I know. Their wanton noodles don’t come with chilli. If you want sambal, you have to ask for it. The woman said she told me but I think she muttered on purpose. I wouldn’t have ordered it if I knew they charge £2 for a spoons worth of horrible “sambal”. Do yourself a favour and go try the authentic laksa and other delectables at Singapulah instead. Service is friendlier. FREE, yummier sambal. A bigger bottle of water is under £2 there. Laksamania charges £4.80 for a small bottled water. This place was a rip off and the food was pitiful. Never again.

Been wanting to try Laksa Mania for a long time. Last time we were in London, we went on a day they were closed. Being from the Midlands, a decent Malaysian restaurant is hard to come by. Laksa Mania did not disappoint. We booked in advanced for a Friday night. It was mega busy. Very nice place inside. We ordered the Char Kway Teow and Ipoh curry laksa. So many other dishes I want to try. The Char Kway Teow arrived probably 10-15 minutes before the Curry Laksa. No communication at all as to why the Laksa was so delayed. No apologies or anything when the Laksa eventually arrived. When I eventually finished. We were rushed to pay the bill. Didn’t even get offered to look at desserts. Quite rude from the staff to be honest. Nice food doesn’t make customer service non existent. It’s a good job you do have nice food that people will want to come for. Service wise. You can get better at the local weatherspoons!

A group of 8 friends ate here yesterday for lunch. We had delicious food, everyone of us, the standard brought back great memories of eating in Singapore. Service was great, attentive and helpful throughout, even though we were noisy and chaotic in our excitement to see each other. Wish this restaurant was closer to where I live!

We order from Uber Eats, you can still judge the taste, we have chicken sate, chicken wings, they are both nice, we also have chicken curry, but it was a disappointment, and so is the Pad Thai, the curry was way too salty, you can really eat it, too bad we are not eating in, or else we can return it to the kitchen and let them know, as for the Pad Thai, the ho fun (rice noodles) are all broken in small pieces, you can't find a bit that is like noodles, and it was blend, the shrimp in the Pad Thai has no taste. So very disappointed, I love laska but didn't order as I would think Laksa is a dish to be enjoy in a restaurant. I am afraid I can't recommend the two disappointing dishes.

After reading an article about a guy who travelled the world for 10 years, visiting every country, who said the best food he'd had anywhere was Laksa (in Malaysia), we had to find this place when we visited London and it didn't let us down. The depth of flavour in our Laksa was fantastic and £16.50 for a main course just off Oxford Street was very reasonable.

The quality of the cooking seems to have dropped - I ordered the wonton noodles and the wontons were half the size they normally are - the filling was dry and hard whereas before the filling was always plump and juicy . My friend ordered the " Wat tan hor" and there were strange additions to the dish which made the dish more Anglicised and not Malaysian ( Broccoli florets and Japanese mushrooms don't belong in this dish)

Couldn’t resist stopping for laksa when walking past, I went for the Singapore curry laksa. The soup itself was delicious, the egg was over cooked with that dark layer round the yolk, prawns also over cooked, quality of chicken not very good. Service was not the friendliest but was fine. Came to £17 in total and I just wasn’t as satisfied as I’d hoped to be compared to other places I’ve tried in the city.

I had wanted to go to Laksamania for ages after reading the reviews, but I had never had a chance until yesterday lunchtime. They were absolutely worth the wait. I had the vegan laksa and my partner had the Singaporean, both were extremely delicious. The service was friendly and attentive- even though we only had tap water they refilled our glasses regularly. The restaurant interior design is beautiful and it has a great ambience. Would highly recommend!

Once you step off the busy streets of Oxford Street 50 yards on the left, you'll find Londons best kept culinary secret. The decor inside fits for every occasion, whether it be lunch or for an evening meal with a loved one, mood lighting, warm friendly atmosphere with chilling music. Now comes the food, from Chicken and Lamb skewers, to chicken wings that would put a Michelin chef to shame, Danny really has a gift in his cuisine.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

I have been here a couple of times and on both occasions the food has been very tasty. I spent my childhood in Malaysia so I have a good idea of how the food should taste like. In Malaysia, even something as 'standard' as Singapore laksa will have slightly different interpretations depending on where you go. The version at Laksamania has an authentic feel to the taste and so do other dishes although there have of course been subtle substitutions of one or two ingredients sometimes to reflect what is more easily available locally in London. The fried dishes have some of the requisite aroma of a hot pan/wok or 'wok hei' in cantonese and balance of ingredients is good -- sambal aubergines for example has good blachan but not so strong that it overwhelms, but just enhancing the depth of overall flavour. We also had, on this occasion, soft-shell crab laksa and wat-tan ho-fun. Both were good. A little pricey -- most dishes are £15-18, but worth visiting for the excellent flavours. Staff are also friendly and accomodating. They tend to close earlier in the evening than some other restaurants but we were appreciative of the fact that they let us in at 9.15pm even though very last orders are at 9.30pm.

Had lunch there with friends, we ordered satay for starters and for main course two of us had Nyonya Lam Mee. The starter arrived whilst we were eating the main course, which was bland and tasteless. The satay was tasty. Will not eat in Laksamania...

If you want authentic malay food then come round to Laksamania. It was as if the store came straight out of Bukit Bingtang. Quality, Speed and Authenticity is what helps me cultivate my animalistic hormones as blood rushes to my YingJing

I visited Laskamania today for the first time having stumbled upon it by chance. I had the Malala Laska, and it was divine! Full of flavour and spice, and filling. Service was great, nice venue and ambience. I would definitely go again!

Ordered the Singapore curry laksa which was supposed to have chicken as described in the menu. The food came and the gravy looked like recycled liquid. The supposedly mint leaves were dunk deep in the gravy and presentation of the food was at it's worse....

Unfortunately, this restaurant is closed. We tried to visit this restaurant during our holidays in London (September 10th) and the local seemed to be closed from several months before.

£2 for chili potong. IYKYK. sad face. The rest is usual Malaysian restaurant in London fare, a little bit above average.

We really loved our visit to Lahpet on a sunny Sunday lunchtime, seated outside on the terrace. It felt a bit like being on holiday. Service from our young waitress was really sweet and attentive. The crispy fried bream dish is a taste sensation and is really popular judging by the number of plates going past. The aubergine with crispy onion and peanuts is also a winner. We will definitely return as we discovered we really enjoy the flavour profile of Burmese food.
