A lovely cafe with a great setting on the edge of the boating lake in coronation Park. Good flatwhite, nice menu. Staff friendly and efficient with carparking and facilities close to hand. Great park for kids with plenty going on. Good access to a range of walks as well.

Absolute rubbish. 15 mins for a coffee which was stupidly small. Then a further 35 mins for cheesy chips and a sandwich. Had to ask where it was as she goes there is a wait. One other person eating and 1 other ticket doing. When said do you think you should inform of a wait just had a blank look on her face it was dead oh amd worse the chips wasn't even cooked. How do you mess up chips

A fairly busy Saturday afternoon due to the weather. Just wanted a coffee to take around the lake on our walk. If the man serving had told us there would be a wait we'd not have bothered until after our walk. I think there was only one lady on the drinks and that meant more people were then waiting. After nearly 15 mins we were brought out two very small coffees...sure they used to be bigger? It's a shame as it's a perfect location for the play park and lake. Maybe we'll go earlier next time and not at the weekend. Coffee was nice though even if a little on the small side for what we paid.

Really rubbish. Waited over 45 minutes for an eggs Benedict (which I’d asked to be made veggie with a field mushroom instead of ham which is an option on the menu) and a portion of chips for my daughters. I asked to cancel the order after 40 minutes as my daughters (age 2.5) were losing the plot. There was no apology or explanation, just a snapped ‘it will be here in a minute’. Then the food arrived (chips were overdone in my opinion, and my food looked nice and tasted ok until I found myself chewing on a piece of ham!!! I was really cross about this as I’m a life long veggie and am still totally grossed out. Again, I didn’t really feel heard or like the staff cared. I was offered a refund (on that dish only). The lady who had dealt with us from the start asked if I needed anything else and I asked for two small ice creams for my girls which I was charged for!!! I have attached a photo of the enamel dish my daughter’s chips were served in…. It was badly chipped and rusty underneath the chips they’d just eaten!!!!! I just decided to leave and not bother to complain further but I made up my mind to leave a truthful review so as others can avoid this pretty poor place! I will certainly never return!

I visited today just in time for their new menu, everything looked fantastic and the lure of the water view and real log fire was amazing. My vegan breakfast surpassed all expectation, and for the quality of the food also amazing value. As a vegetarian I often leave restaurants hungry, today I am happy and full, great experience, I will be back. 10/10!!! Wish I'd thought of taking a photo when the breakfast arrived, it looked too good to wait, hopefully the quality is clear from the part-eaten breakfast on show 😁👌🏻

Visited cafe as we were in Helston dropping something off. We had two teas and two slices of carrot cake. Cake portions were too small for the price (£3.50 each I think?) I've been to this cafe many many times it's in a lovely setting but unfortunately it's gone down hill, I went back last week, our first time since the lockdown. I had a slice of carrot cake, it was very moist and tasty, the quality hasn't changed but the size certainly has, it's now only about half the size it was. I returned again today to see if it was any better but it wasn't, if anything it was even smaller but the price hasn't reduced to reflect this. I was very disappointed and unfortunately I won't be buying any more

Was passing through and ended up stumbling across it thanks to google. It’s in a good location, there is free parking about 100 metres away and it’s right next to a lake which is nice to sit/ walk by. The menu was good, with a nice selection, something for most people. Prices ok, I had a cheese burger, chips, salad and coleslaw on the side (comes together on one plate), and I think my drink was a can for £1. One thing, my pet hate that almost everywhere does, salad with no dressing! Saying that however everything was fresh and of perfectly good quality. The place clearly is very popular, over lunch I’d say (when I was there) the tables were full and then refilled in that time. I think this place is nice to tie in with a stroll around the lake and feeding the ducks.

We were very pleasantly surprised to discover this cafe when we popped in for lunch yesterday. They have a menu to cover everybody's taste beautifully presented and really well cooked. The local caught crab sandwich I had was as fresh as could be and my sons "fry up" kept him satisfied until tea time. We stop most weeks for a coffee etc after taking dog out for a walk. Within a short space of a week, they have hiked the price of Cappuccino, Latte's etc up by 25pence to £2.75!!! This is pure greed. There cakes need to be covered with domes as these were very dry and at £3 a slice..very expensive!! Also, I suggest they price the cakes individually, as you don't know how much it is until you have actually bought it, unless you ask. I think the owners have hiked the prices for the holiday makers, but they really need to think about the locals, who keep there business going through the winter months

We have visited the Lakeside Café many times in the past few years and always enjoyed a reasonably priced good meal, but alas, on our visit last Thursday, I have to say, we were not that impressed. Admitted it was very very busy and we had a long wait for our food, which the charming waitress apologised for. It was nicely presented, but again very disappointing. The panninni was over cooked and the contents undercooked - my cheese and tomato had not even melted, My husband had the Brie, cranberry and bacon which he ate, but felt the same as me. We didn't complain as we were in a hurry to get back, but I have since rung the manager who apologised profusely and said he would look into it. Maybe we will give it another try in a few weeks time and see if its running smoothly, I hope so, because it is in a lovely spot by the Lake in Helston.

We took our 2 year old granddaughter into the cafe after a lovely walk around the boating lake and a play in the park. We were served by a lovely young lady who needed to ask another member of staff if we could have a small milkshake for our granddaughter. A discussion then went on between a couple of other ladies who said they only did one size at £3.15!! We then said could we have a half size as she would never drink a large one and were told yes but we would still have to pay the £3.15!! This we were told was because of the ice cream in it. We then told the ladies that we didn’t want any ice cream in it, to which she responded by saying it wouldn’t taste very nice! This is what our grandchildren usually have and enjoy! So after much unnecessary discussion they agreed to do it. In a cafe which would attract many families with children it would be more helpful if they accommodated them when they obviously have the resources to do so. A sign of a good cafe or restaurant is that theyshould be able to supply the customer with what they need if they have the ingredients which they obviously did!!

This little cafe is an ideal place to meet friends. Right next to the boating lake. Easy access via a ramp for push chairs and wheel chairs it has a range of food and drinks from panini fried brakfast to chilli or fish and chips. Friendly and polite staff.

Visited the boating lake as my two year old wanted to feed the ducks. We decided to stop at the Lakeside cafe for some lunch after failing with an earlier attempt to find another cafe further down the lizard. Both me and my fiancé had a chicken Caesar salad which was nice and my daughter enjoyed a fish finger butty. We were also able to buy food for the ducks so all in all a nice place and glad we visited.

Usually visit here with work. Prices aren't too bad and the view is lovely. Only downside is with a load of ducks and swans. There is a lot of poo around the cafe. Not very hygienic or nice to be around. But the cafe is nice and staff are friendly :) well wort a visit and a short walk.

Having visited Lakeside Cafe on a regular basis I have usually found them to be child friendly and accommodating. Today however I asked for a child's scrambled egg on toast. Although this isn't on the menu I was assured that the request was fine and paid my £2.85. Then I was approached and told if I wanted scrambled egg I would have to pay an extra £1 as they only do an adult portion. The meal was for my one year old granddaughter who could not eat the 3 egg portion. As this was all she could have I felt pressured into paying for the adult meal. She is 1 year old!!!The outcome is she ate roughly one egg and left 2. What a waste of food! We use the lake a lot and have visited the cafe many times. I feel so cross about the lack of common sense used. To be told "I can't scramble 1 egg but I can do 3"How ridiculous. Sorry..... You have just lost a customer. We won't be back with or without the children.

Lovely setting by the lake, our granddaughters love the play park next door. Food is generally good. They do a full English breakfast but only a small vegetarian breakfast, why? Vegetarians eat just as much as others. My other niggle is that they serve bake yourself baguettes which can be a bit hit and miss, sometimes only just being shown the oven and not baked properly. Nevertheless food is reasonably priced and tasty.

Had ordered breakfast, just as it was coming , much to my horror 3 dogs and their owners came in!! 1 dog was barking lots making my 10 month old baby jump, 1 dog was at a table with its owners!! And the waitress then stroked it!! Totally unacceptable for people whom do not own dogs to have to share a small cafe with animals!! If I had known this i would not have spent any money here, Also over £2 spent on a very stale cake , will never again come here, Toilets are disgusting.

Very expensive for what it is!! Dry baguette with ham (tasty ham) and cheese, a bit of salad and coleslaw (not very fresh) and a flat white came to £13.70!!! So stunned at the price I just paid it. I live in Truro and certainly won't be going again!

We visited this pub twice during our short visit as the food was so good and very reasonably priced. On our first visit we had the freshly caught cod and chips which really did look like a whale on a plate. Would highly recommend this place and the staff were really helpful and friendly.

Had a standard cappuccino here and it would've cost me less to get a taxi to Lidl and make it myself. Probably would've tasted better too.
