some very nice plants and at a resonable price. some of the staff are nice and will speak. but as we found out not in the cafe or gift shop. its only 1 person in cafe at a time, there's nothing to tell you this though so you get shouted at by stroppy staff. and you can't eat indoors. luckily there is a nice set up outside.

Lovely little garden centre with lots and *lots* of different kinds of plants and all sorts of garden decor items that you won't find in the chain stores. The staff are friendly and they do a great afternoon tea when the restaurant is open. Parking is easy and it's just off a main road so getting there is easy too.

Fantastic family run nursery. All you need plant-wise for your garden. Prices are good but the best thing is the service and product knowledge from the owner - outstanding. Her daughter that is usually in the coffee shop is lovely. I love visiting Lakers. You cannot compare it to a large commercial garden centre.

I recently reserved a table for afternoon tea, as a surprise treat for a friend celebrating a special birthday. After a couple of phone conversations making sure everything would be as I'd hoped, nothing could have prepared us for the wonderful surprise as we approached our table. Set with pretty cloth & linen, the table was beautifully set with a plentiful selection of delicious home made cakes and scones, a good selection of finger sandwiches, crisps and a few special extras. Wow! Both my friend and I felt quite overwhelmed! Thank you Jane and Shelley for your helpfulness, care to detail, and for blessing us with a most memorable time! And if you haven't time for a cuppa, the shop is excellent too!

This is about the cafe, not the garden centre proper. As soon as my wife and I took a single step inside the lady running the place barked at us "tea or coffee"? Flummoxed, we chose tea. We looked around and at the menu. We had expected something more than just a cake or two to choose from. "Weak or strong?" She made the tea in mugs. This was odd. Why not a pot? All of the tables had tea trays decked out with cups and saucers, and teapots. She put the mugs on the counter next to a tray which I assumed I should use. "Don't take the tray." She told me the price and I handed her my credit card. "Cash only," she asserted as she pointed to the door. There was no sign. The tea was mediocre. As we drank, I looked up the distance to Heathrow Airport (our destination) and the terminal for our flight.I was speaking softly. The lady - standing a good 20ft away - interjected. "Terminal 3." I had noticed her using her phone. May be she was trying to be helpful but it was unsettling. We finished our drinks and went into the garden centre itself that, strangely, accepted credit cards. Given how out of the way this place is, I'd say find somewhere else unless you happen to want to go to the garden centre part.

Having stumbled upon this nursery earlier in the year, we have been back many times since. It is a small but great nursery situated on the outskirts of Winslow (Buckingham end). The staff are lovely and friendly and there is a real sense of a real family business. Each visit, we always make time to sit and enjoy afternoon tea in a very pleasant cafe with terrace. The cakes are fabulous (made by a local lady and on the premesis we understand), and the coffee is 'real' - both surprisingly very reasonably priced with a good choice to boot. As well as a great selection of very well cared for plants, there is a shop selling all manner of bits and pieces for garden and home, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. We will definately be back there soon, probably for a bit of Christmas shopping I suspect... and ofcourse to sample some more of the delicious offerings in the café! Highly recommended if you are passing through, or indeed at those times of year when a restock of the garden is in need.
