We had a party in the separate room, 🎉 Fantastic service and food. Erin was so helpful and the menu was brilliant. We also retired to the outside garden and had our dessert in the sunshine.

Took the family here for dinner. Welcome was really warm, they were great with the kids. I had left it till the last minute to get in but they shuffled a bit around and fitted us in Food is really good, I'd class it as really good pub grub with a few twists. Wife had a fantastic fresh pasta and my steak was certainly one of the better ones I'd eaten(and very generous). So good to see properly produced dishes in house rather than the warmed up crap some pubs produce. Keep up the great work guys, thanks for a great night and we will be back.

We stumbled across this pub last minute, yesterday evening, for some food and what a find! The steak was one of the best I’ve had in a very, very long time and my friend’s meal was superb, too. I will be coming back with more people soon! Thank you, guys!

Wow what a fantastic meal and experience.The special South African meal on the menu tonight was the best food I have ever tasted.From the side vegetables with brocoli included was nothing like I've tasted before.Obviously the chefs special recipe.You won't find any food in bucks better than that was served tonight.The rest of my family ate off the main menu and all plates were empty.Great staff with full attention to detail and continually coming to the table asking if we required any drinks and any other requirements we needed.Breath of fresh air in this dyu8ng industry of locals not supporting their pub.

One of the best meals I have had at a small pub, honestly, in years. Great menu selection, with an added bonus of a themed dish every month (at the moment its Portugese). Staff were faultless, kind and considerate throughout. Can not recommend enough.

We were Recommended by Friends to try their Sunday Lunch. It was a snap decision so I phoned in the Mng to Reserve a Table. The owner who was Extremely Polite & Jovial said that they were fully Booked but as we have a well behaved CockerPoo they could find us a Table in the Bar Area around 3 15 pm. On arriving we were greeted by a Young Bubbly Team & the Pub had a Genuine Village Atmosphere/Clientele. I can Honestly say that the Sunday Roast was one of the Best, the Portions were Generous & the wide selection of Al-Dente Vegetables were all cooked & presented to Perfection. I even had room for a portion of Home Made Creme Caramel that was Scrumptious. We will return!

Amazing food Lively busy pub, we haven’t been there in a long time, but so glad we went for lunch today. We took our dog and he was made very welcome. The food was fantastic!! We had the pie, with triple cooked chips- the chips were honestly the best I’ve ever had! Korean sauce was lovely too 😊

Oh my goodness, where shall I start. We visited The Bell when Grandma came to stay and we wanted to take her out for dinner. It was absolutely amazing. We stopped off for lunch after a few hours on the motorway, with no booking and greeted with a very warm welcome, the food was absolutely delicious, with a good selection of drinks for all, and above all else wonderful service delivered by the wonderful Erin who looked after our every need! Thank you, we will definitely be back!

Overall experience from start to finish was incredible. Service by Erin, and the food from chef Ion was faultless. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Absolutely smashing it!

The staff and atmosphere were perfect. We'll be back. Feel mean giving the food 4 stars but we went on a Sunday and while the roast was good you can never beat your Mum's roast dinners.

A good pub and very friendly staff ,the Sunday beef roast was excellent and cooked how it should be cooked not overdone and perfect ,the Tring beer was nice aswell definitely going back the deserts were excellent too.

We held my Dad’s wake here. We visited beforehand and the owners and bar staff were friendly and talked through our food options. Organising it was stress free and on the day we couldn’t have asked for better service. The pub itself was so warm and welcoming, they let us put up pictures and the food was delicious, and not just your basic sandwiches either. They’d even produced a mini dessert- a favourite of my dad’s 😊. A lot more people came along than expected but Erin was unflappable! She just bought out more food when needed. Overall, on what was a hard day, the pub and the staff made it easy - exactly what we needed. We can’t thank them enough - we’ll be back to try the roast, which I hear is delicious!

We booked a table for lunch for the four of us. It was very quiet but that's because it was the day before Hogmanay. Service was fabulous. Food was freshly cooked and delicious. We will definitely be back.

Visited to meet up with friends for a post Christmas lunch. The pub has a lovely cosy feel and very welcoming. Menu not extensive but still good varied choices. 2 of us had gnocchi, 1 had duck other fish and chips. Portion sizes are large. It was nice to be told they were large too , as helpful for overall choices & considering environmental issue of food waste. All meals were lovely and we really enjoyed. Only disappointment was only a few puds available, explained xmas rush and about to close for 3 days , so it was understandable. Service was great friendly and efficient. Would highly recommend. It would be lovely for a walk in the area then have lunch as dog friendly too.

We went here for a lunch to celebrate a very belated birthday. The staff were just lovely! Really good with the children and very accommodating with food and changes. The food was delicious, we all had starters, mains and then some had room for pudding. The portion sizes were generous. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back at some point

Recently reopened by a great young couple who are very accommodating. It's lovely to see such a historic and charming pub opening and not closed.

Food good but slowly served, had a long wait for food after ordering. Waitresses were friendly and helpful, but appeared to be under pressure with the amount of customers in for meals. Date 12/11/23

Met friends for a meal at The Bell this evening. Very warm welcome by Erin which was followed up by the most delicious food! I had the steak and ale pie which was tasty and filling. Hubby had the burger which he raved about and our friends went for the pasta, which again was hoovered up! Would highly recommend trying this wonderful village pub. You won’t regret it.

First visit to The Bell for food & Sunday lunch. Although small menu, the food was both flavoursome, good portions & well presented. The staff were professional & attentive but left you to enjoy your food without being pestered! Would definitey recommend & look forward to their future menus & events.

Over from Australia visiting relations in the Aylesbury area. Sat outside in the garden. Nice pleasant atmosphere. Handy that a cousin lived a few hundred metres away.

We stopped by for some food and drink mid-walk. Had a nice table in the beer garden. The ploughman's was ok, but would be better if they added ham and a pickled onion. It took over half an hour for the food to arrive despite the pub being pretty empty and there was no warning of the delay when ordering. Some of the sausages in the sausage and mash were really burnt and inedible. The ice-cream and sorbets were great, although the scoop size was pretty small. All in all, it was quite pricey considering the quality of the food. I don't think I'd eat here again, but I'd come back for a drink in the beer garden.

Had a quiet lunch of chef special fish pie and honey glazed carrots and steamed savoy cabbages. Delicious and a large portion, but rightly matched with price. Worth for the chunks of cod/haddock, salmon and prawns found in the pie. Lovely gin and tonic. The best part was the amazing chef made experimental gorgeous chilli sauce. He needs to bottle it and sell it. It was kickass. Yes, I like even my fish pie or steamed cabbages with bit of heat and was this a treat.

Worst Sunday Lunch I have had in many many years! No cooking skills evident at all. Watery gravy, beef was boiled rather than roasted, vegetable undercooked and bland, Yorkshire pudding burnt!

We started off on the wrong foot from the second we walked in. We waited for nearly 5 minutes to even be acknowledged. When we was approached by what seems like the manager, he was not bothered and did not seem like he wanted our custom.We started off with some drinks which was flat and tasted stale. When we complained it was brushed off and was not offered replacements.We got the food menu but it took 40 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order. We waited an extra hour for the food when the place wasn't even busy. The food was not worth the money that we paid. Cold, bland and what seemed liked defrosted. At this point we didn't even bother complaining as it was falling on deaf ears of the manager who just didn't give a dam.Please read the reviews and do not go to this business.

When we first walked in we was greeted by the manager Chris who was extremely rude and didnt seem to have the time. We was told to just sit anywhere in an almost empty restaurant. We waiting 30 minutes for someone to come to our table. When we finally got drinks we was completely ignored by the waitresses who where all chatting and stood around. We ordered 2 burgers which seemed to be microwaved and rubbery. We complained to the manager and was told that there was nothing wrong with the food. We was still made to pay after not eating more than 1 bite. The way he spoke to us was awful and rude and he doesnt belong in this business if that's his level of customer service. It's by far the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant and will never be returning. I will also be telling everyone I know not to visit as this was unacceptable.

Look I don't mean to be rude. But what do you expect the place to run like when employing everyone's favourite fraud 'Wine Importer' as a manager. I didn't realise he was running the place (goodness its a small world) when I came back here from work one day and bought a lemonade. It was best part of £4.00. For a draught lemonade. I can well imagine that if someone ordered Scampi here it was a mess. Its actually a remarkable achievement they've done here. It looks quaint. It's in a cute village. But it felt like a flat topped estate pub with a hidden menace of violence.... Strange...

Absolutely love this gem of a pub. Family Sunday lunch, had beef roasts and the trio of meat roast, all piping hot and cooked to perfection. For dessert had chocolate brownie and ice cream and hot treacle pudding and ice cream. Friendly service.

Booked through the pub website (open table) got email confirming the booking (lunch on Monday) just to arrive to the pub that was closed. Very disappointed - we had only a limited amount of time, spoiled our day.

Couldn't finish our main courses as they were over salted. Scampi was completly overcooked and shouldn't have gone out. Owner didn't seem to care. Had to send a pint of beer back because pipes hadn't been cleaned. Very expensive. Very unhappy. I think the pub is under new management. Shame as this used to be a good spot.

My stake was ordered as medium but served well done and tough.My dessert was ordered with custard but seved with ice cream.I found it a little expensive and a large glass of wine at £6 and I am unsure it was as ordered ? The score would would have been lower but for the waitress, i found helpful and pleasant I would not be returning here as there as to many basic mistakes
