Acorn Bank is a splendid place to visit and made even more so by a visit to the pop-up cafe situated in the court yard. Run by a mother and daughter team, the homemade cakes using produce from Acorn Bank's garden, a wonderful cup of locally sourced coffee and an extremely warm and friendly welcome made a lovely day out even more special. Highly recommended.

We have had a pleasure to eat an drink their meals for the second time. First time we paid a visit in October 2022. Then we ate only desserts and drank tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Last time we decided to eat lunch as well. And it was one of the best meals ever eaten. Really homemade. I know what I am speaking about because I am a full time homemaker who cooks and bakes and can recognise good quality food based on old recipes and prime quality local products. My children ate sausage rolls with excellent chutney, Easter cakes and drank hot chocolate. Me and my husband had leak soup and vegetarian panini. Everything was delicious. We are already planning our journey back in a few months to enjoy both the surrounding of Acorn Bank and tasty food. Additionally we had a chance to speak with the owners of the Lakeland Coffee. Pure pleasure. What to want more: beautiful place, good food and nice hosts.

Had a wonderful visit to Acorn Bank NT, made all the better by a brilliant coffee and cake at Lakeland Coffee. The cake had Rhubarb in grown in the garden and was delicious😋. Highly recommend.

Fabulous food, both evenings (Pie night Thursday) and Sunday lunch. Probably the best Sunday lunch ever, and excellent beers on tap. Overall a great pub and looking forward to our next visit later in the year.

Pooley Bridge is a great location to stay and explore the Northern Lakes with several very welcoming inns with great beer gardens and decent food. The 1863 Restaurant & Rooms however is on a different level altogether. We stayed for two nights in the Luxury Suite (room 7) which, although smaller than we had anticipated, was extremely comfortable and well appointed. The real reason to stay here though is to enjoy the restaurant experience. On our first night we had the 3 course option which was imply superb. The presentation, quality of food and level of attention from the team were all exceptional. We indulged ourselves with the 7 course "Taster" menu on the 2nd night which actually turned out to be almost 10 courses with the little extras that arrived. We thought our first experience would be hard to improve on but night two and the 7 course option was simply sublime. Thank you to all of the team for making our stay so special.

It’s been a few years since I have visited Morland but work brought myself and a colleague through the village yesterday. Whilst completing our paperwork we decided on a brew and a snack. We popped into the cafe and were made to feel very welcome by the owner Sarah and lovely staff member and even greeted with kindness by the patrons. We only had a take away coffee and a breakfast sandwich each, which was lovely. It’s so nice here I’m going to visit again and bring my Mum for lunch. Thanks.
