I have recently moved into Anchorfields just around the corner from this takeaway which was highly recommended to me by many of my friends and I can honestly say this is the best Chinese takeaway food in Kidderminster. I had plain noodle sweet and sour Cantonese chicken, satay chicken and egg fried rice all of which was absolutely delicious. The service was very quick and the staff were very friendly, I will most certainly be visiting there again.🙂

Did not visit again lairs garden just walked past, so I can't make a comment about the restaurant.

Currently our favourite Chinese takeaway restaurant, great portion sizes at reasonable prices. Food is always hot and tasty.

Not a very good Chinese, shredded beef was chewy, chicken wings were bland and soggy. The chips were stale first time I ordered from here and will be the last

2 years ago I posted the review about this place was always good food but now it's not good for the past 2 months not getting what you order and when you do get it not worth the wait and when you phone them up and let them know no they don't want to know time for me to stop going there now

Wonderful food, low price and great service

What can i say always good and tasty food been going here for years they do the best curry sauce around, Had a very tasty special curry with fried rice cannot be beaten locally for value for money and taste

I've being to Lai's garden a few times and their fried rice dishes were tasty! This time i ordered a chicken curry. When i tasted the meat it was pork with grissel. Why did they put pork in when i asked for chicken??

Disappointed at mixed meat curry , hardly any meat lots of sauce two long carrots that looked like chips , looked like half a portion ! Not good value for money at all , spent £20 there in total on the whole better Chinease about :(

Tried Lai s garden this evening as the regular one we used was closed. Safe to say we’ll never go back. Had beef in black bean sauce with green pepper. Dish came Luke warm and full of massive chunks of green and red peppers and carrots??? Not a lot of meat at all and what was there was wafer thin and completely tasteless wish we’d have gone to the chip shop instead

You pay for what you get. Spent £12 and got a load of food, I couldn’t eat it. Spend your money else where, no offence. People are lovely but food not so much.

Only ever come here for my Chinese roast pork with chicken fried rice and beansprouts. The dish has never changed over the years I have been coming here. Won’t go anywhere else for this dish. A+ thank you.

I prefer their style of cooking compared with others.

Greasy rice , strange chicken , stale crackers, weird chips. Only 2 stars as the guy behind the counter was pleasant. Suitable I’d say after drinking 10 pints and only if it happened to be on the way home. Lai’s garden? GARDEN OF LIES

I'm a regular and have been going here for some years. I can thoroughly recommend the chicken /beef curries and the chicken & sweetcorn soup is second to none. See for yourself!

We got shredded beef and sweet and sour chicken balls. The beef was burned so much it had no taste at all while the batter on chicken balls vere half raw. I won't be ordering for them again.

Having used Lai's Garden over a number of years I would not consider using another Cantonese take away. There is always a pleasant greeting and we can never expect any more from the food. Price wise, whilst not the cheapest, we always receive value for money

We use this Chinese quite a lot as it is so close to our house. It does need a bit of a makeover but the service and food are great. Highly recommend the Salted chilli chicken and pork fried rice.

Working away, I searched Tripadvisor for a decent Chinese near my hotel, and this place came up with lots of good reviews. When I got there, I was a bit disappointed with the state of the place; the tiled floor had lots of cracks and years of crud pressed in between the tiles. Where the tiles met the walls and badly-varnished bench seats there was an edge of crud. It looked like the floor had been regularly mopped but never properly cleaned. Behind the counter it seemed a bit haphazard and - well, 'old'. Visually it didn't match my expectations from the reviews on here. It also didn't help my impression that the old dear on the counter had a rotten cold and was sneezing a lot. The food arrived in a strange circular foil carton - like you get frozen cheesecake in, rather than the more usual plastic trays. By this stage I was regretting picking this takeaway. However, when I got back to the hotel, the food was tasty enough (though for me, I felt the chow-mein had too high a 'wet' meats and vegetables to noodles ratio). It was a very large portion and I only managed a third of it. I dare say my initial reaction to the 'tatty old chinese' visuals and the crud-for-grout tiles were in the back of my mind whilst eating and I did lose my appetite a bit. I checked the Food.gov hygiene rating on the internet and they had a 3 - 'Generally Satisfactory', which was reassuring at least. It's unlikely I'll be eating here again anyway, but overall, the food was good (but not excellent) and if plenty of locals eat here as they apparently do from the reviews here, then it obviously has something I'm missing. However good the food may be, the place is in dire need of a refit; as it stands at present they would be very unlikely to get many folk walking past and thinking 'this looks nice, lets get food from here'. Sorry if this is your local - I'm just being honest !

Really nice food and not too pricey. Definitely one of the best in Kidderminster and I would recommend anyone to try it.

This take away was a life saver after a night out recently and is consistently great whenever we get food. The service is always excellent and quick and the food is fresh and delicious.

I've tried Many takeaway Chinese restaurants but this is simply the best I've found. I have one every week and always the same quality and flavours.

I bought my tea from here for the first time, I live just up the road and never really noticed it here before. The food was slightly cheaper than other take aways, I didn't have to wait long either, and it tasted good. It's not the best quality in the world, but its far better than some I've tasted, and I'll return soon so I'm happy!

been coming here for a while,its the only one on station hill still quite cheap and its not often you get a meal from here.on the odd occasion the chips are hard

Had a chow mein from there tonight, I have to say it has to be the most taste less Chinese meal I have ever had and apart from the chicken the other meat was very tough.

This takeout is by far the best Chinese in the wyre forest, we have tried pretty much most Chinese takeaways in Kidderminster, bewdley and stourport and here is over and above better by far. Proper old Skool Chinese takeaway (chips are awesom☺️☺️)!! Can't wait for my next visit

Always been a go-to Chinese in our family. Tried other places in Kidderminster but always ended back there. Lovely food and very friendly service.

Has been for many years. Can't fault it in all honesty. Always customise if you ask, even do gift vouchers if you know someone who is an addict.

Proper old school Chinese. Yummy! Best I've tried in Kidderminster & decent prices. Never had a bad experience. Don't let the appearance of the old building put you off. Delivered always within an hour x

We started to use here a few months ago. Always lovely food, very friendly and will always alter a dish slightly if we have requested it. The premises does look slightly out of date and a bit battered but don't be put off as food is fab!

I can't speak for the entire menu but everything I have eaten from there has been first class! Especially the pork curry accompanied by Singapore fried rice and BBQ spare ribs! If you ask for your curry extra spicy, it comes EXTRA spicy. Magnificent!

This take away offers great value. No it's not a 5 star dining experience if your expecting that you will be disappointed, however if u want quality ingredients and friendly service you can't go wrong here!!

Bought a take out and it was disgusting, the tell tale signs where there though. Dirty in front of counter and looking beyond the counter the place is filthy.There was a black hair in my special curry which had grissle for and a couple of the cheapest cuts of meat money can buy.The rice was spooned out of a large pot on the floor and tasted mouldy!Reading the comment previous about this being here so long I can only say a lot of people with low/poor standards buy from here or a few drunks who eat anything who are life unhealthy lifestyles.Avoid this place unless you have very low standards.

I have been using this takeaway for 10 plus years now and love it. Chunky Chinese chips are always a winner! Lovely currys, quick service, recommend singapore fried rice. Pricy but so are all takeaways these days. Don't be put off by the ropey waiting area. I have NEVER had a bad meal.
