My daughter went here last night with a few friends. She turned 18 a few weeks ago and was one of the first opportunities to have a get together. All of them are 18. All of them have passed there driving test. So obviously the form of ID they all chose to use is a driving licence…. All were ID’ed when they got there. Fine. All were ID’ed when getting their first drink. Ok. Then they were refused a second drink as the girl who served them (Who was also rude) before, now ‘did not believe there driving licences were real’ and ‘how could they all have a driving licence’. So gutted for my daughter and her mates. Maybe they need to carry their Birth certificate, Passport and driving licence next time.

refused to serve me and my friends because they claimed our ids were fake (we are all of age and had proof of age) they served us one drink the decided that we weren’t of age. when we challenged the bartender she was very rude and said they were fake because “there was no way we had all passed our driving tests” will not be coming back here.

Visited recently on weekend. Kids working behind the bar (well acted like kids). Had no interest in actually serving the busy bar. Making silly jokes between eachother. Manager inexperienced and not able to handle situation that occurred with my family. Food was ok to be fair albeit not hot. And the icing on the cake.... cocaine use in toilets! well done for ruining what was a great pub.

Came here the weekend with my friend and her dog. The girls behind the bar were so friendly, they came and gave my friends dog a free pup cup. The one girl was called Sophia i think and maybe Rachel? They let me try a taste of some of the beer i'd never heard of and spoke to my friend for ages recommending different gin flavours for her to try. Really friendly place, will 100% visit again

We called in for drinks before going on to a restaurant. This is a friendly pub with a good atmosphere. There is a family feeling to the welcome and the bar staff were very efficient. It is obvious that local people use this pub, which adds to the attraction. I liked the friendly pet dog who checked out the customers too. A good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Next time we may eat here too.

Ordered some food to eat outside in the beer garden; scampi fries, loaded fries and a chiminichanga. Portion sizes were great and food was delish! Will definitely be ordering food from here again pulled pork especially good!

So i’ve illegally travelled here for a sniff sesh in bromsgrove. Thanks for letting us in btw. (Easy to get in no ID checks lol) lets start with the service. Awful. Had to get our own order in after the women had spat at us as we walked in and claimed it was ‘banter’ not funny. Food . Right the food was preposterous. See for photos of the mouldy food we all was served. If i had Gordon Ramsay's number i’d call him in for a new episode of kitchen nightmares. Wont be returning. Ever. Me and my husband have been coming to the The ladybird for over a year, and for the most part we've enjoyed it. However, recently I am aware that it is under new management from the previous young couple who have ran it, and it just seems to be sinking. We use to come for lunch midweek and now they have stopped lunch service. When we were told by the young brown haired woman behind the bar, that there was no lunch service anymore, her attitude and the way she spoke to my husband was disrespectful. She laughed at us and asked us 'what do you want me to do about it', not once in the whole year we have been coming here have we've been spoken to like that. We decided to leave after this as we were quite shocked by her audacity to speak to us like this. Also, as were leaving to get back into our car, which was parked at the end of the carpark (the disabled spaces were full so we couldn't park there) the young lady from behind the bar came out to her car. Her car was parked in one of the disabled spaces with no badge being shown! My husband finds it difficult to walk quite far so to see able bodied staff members use a disabled parking space is rude and disrespectful. We wont be returning as their are better pubs that sell Bathams (My husbands favourite drink!) to go too. The new management needs to sort out the staff before they do anything else.

Stopped here on way home from Avoncroft museum for meal with a group of friends. Eating alcove was very cramped with too many tables & seats in a small area. Pub was very crowded & noisy due to football match being screened in pub and difficult to move around. Was not suitable for wheelchairs. Choice of food was limited and average prices. Some.of our.meals were very late being served and other members of group.were.finishing their meal while a.few of us were still waiting for.our food. Some of the food was overcooked, portion sizes were about right. Admission to car park was by barrier with need to.obtain a token from bar to exit pub or pay high parking fee on exit if you decided you didnt want to eat there after entering car park so once in car park you feel obliged to use pub anyway. Wouldnt really recommend this pub as an eating pub unless you use the attached pricey reataurant at the back.

Splendid pub of which I have very fond memories as it used to be almost my home when I lived in Aston Fields. Excellent choice of beers (Bathams in particular), friendly and charming staff and nice clientele. Food is good too, but we didn't eat there that often, the pub being mainly my morning drinking place. It's cheerfully busy on Friday evenings and pleasantly quiet in the mornings. I used to visit it daily when it opened at 11am and hope all is well and that the pub is thriving.

Much better than the slightly dingy feel it used to have.Much easier to move through the U-shape of the restaurant and bar areas now.And the food was great - so was the Batham's - of course! The young guy and girl behind the bar were really lovely, friendly, helpful and looked after us really well. The 2 for £12 meal offer was a no brainer. We called for a drink having caught the train back from Birmingham after a concert. It was 10.30 pm - closing time was 11 pm. We ordered our beer and wine (it was a decent pint of cask beer), and sat down at a table. The bar was quite busy and noisy, but that's to be expected at that time in the evening. However, within a few minutes staff appeared and started wiping tables and noisily stacking chairs on the tables and benches. It was clear that they wanted to get us out of the pub as soon as possible, even though it was a good 20 minutes before closing time. Very poor hospitality - we will not be returning.

We visited the pub with other couples to celebrate a birthday after the 'refurb' but we won't be going back....ever! The refurb has made the pub so bright you need sunglasses, which makes the atmosphere uninviting and actually uncomfortable. The pub has never had the best layout and unfortunately while sitting trying to have a conversation you've got staff constantly clattering past you to get to the back of house areas. This isn't their fault obviously but it does nothing to help the atmosphere. The drinks are also more expensive than other places and normally I would have no problem paying a bit more for a good atmosphere and customer focussed service, unfortunately here you got neither! Last orders was called at 10.50pm (which for a Saturday these days is unusual however not the biggest issue in itself) the main problem was the amount of times we were told 'we need your glasses in a minute' or some variation there of, without any polite please or thank you in the 20 minutes from 11 to 11.20 - it was ridiculous to the point of rude.I understand people need to finish their drinks in a timely way (which we were all trying to do) but the constant interruptions from staff really didn't help, we were shouted at about 5 times in 20 minutes, and the way it was done was just plain rude. It left us feeling like we were being harassed out of the pub.We will never return, there are far better pubs in the local area.

We popped in here before going for a meal at banners restaurant down the road. Service was good, the place was a little noisy but nothing you wouldn't expect on a Saturday evening. We went for dinner then returned for drinks after and the staff had changed. We were met with a member of staff who was very slow (on a busy Saturday night not very helpful!!) however this was fine, we got our drinks and sat down and had a chat. The bar area was very noisy and the refit removing the carpet has not aided the acoustics in the bar. Last orders were called at 11 so we bought our final drink (again with the slow barman, so it was 11.10 before we got our drinks) he then came over at 11.15 and every 2 minutes after to hurry us out. Before 11.30 he came over and asked us to drink up or 'take your drinks outside, I don't really care I just want to clear up and go home' whilst I do understand it was late and he wanted to go home there are better ways to phrase it! We will not be returning again

It was advertised as a buffet style breakfast £5.79 but was nothing more than a few cereals on a table, (had to ask for milk) and looked like fried sausages, bacon, baked beans, potato and tomatoes, asked for a poached egg but no a fried one was provided. If you wanted orange juice it was £1.80 extra!! From the website it seemed ideal for a meal with our daughter as it had a kids menu. Got there to find the kids menu no longer exists. Also no serving times displayed anywhere and no mention of times from bar staff (when enquiring about kids menu), so when we tried to order at 6:15pm we were told the kitchen closed at 6pm as it was a bank holiday. My wife and I decided to try the newly refurbished Ladybird for lunch. The refurbishment is good and brings the place up to date. I think it is always a good thing to have a separate bar and this is the case here but if you are going there to eat and park in the car park provided you have to walk through the bar to get to the eating area, also the only gents toilet is through the bar. I found the eating area a bit cramped. The food, we both had steak with chips and peas plus a side of onion rings, was not bad although the steaks were slightly over cooked, the service was excellent. All in all not a bad lunch but I do think it would be a bit too cosy if it got busy.

We visited the Ladybird for breakfast after the high recommendation from the receptionist at the Travelodge we were staying at next door. Upon arrival we were greeted by a miserable young man who honestly looked as though he'd rather be anywhere other than at work, who informed us more food would be cooked for us shortly. The only other member of staff was an equally unhappy looking young female. We had to ask for cold drinks, there was no hot water ready for a cup of tea, the only choices offered were cereal, toast or a few left over cooked items that had clearly been sat there for an hour. Any cooked items that had run out were not replaced and I had to request a teaspoon. Poor at the best of times, but only half way through the serving times for breakfast is unacceptable. The staff stood about moaning and comparing who had worked the longest shift ever between them, and discussing how cold the restaurant was (yes, it really was freezing, probably due to the fact all the doors were wide open as you said!). No other diners received attention from the staff either! We did not return during the duration of our stay, opting to go anywhere else instead!!

We visited the Ladybird for breakfast and when the food eventually hit the serving trays it was not bad but the staff had faces that could curdle milk. They did not look at all happy in their work and did not attempt to smile even once during the whole sitting. One of the Travelodge staff came in to ask for a token for one of the guests who had to take his wife to hospital, she was told to go away as they were too busy...really? The guest himself ended up coming in and remonstrating with Ladybird staff, as he had to have his wife at the hospital in 20 mins. This was not a good experience and did the Ladybird no favours whatsoever. Whilst I would definitely go back to Travelodge, I would give the Ladybird Inn a wide berth.

Nice pub but the meal portions are small. I am not a big eater and I was left wanting more. Menu selection is limited but remember this is a pub that caters for more than just food but quiz night, live sport, dogs are welcome and parking to rear

We've been several times now, initially for the quizzes but now to eat as well. The food menu changes regularly and is always worth a look. I think it's good value for the quality and the staff are always pleased to help. There's a discount for CAMRA card carriers on the real ale.

Lovely pub by the station. Bright airy bar with Bathams bitter on tap, so always a plus for any establishment. Bar staff quick to serve. Visited early Saturday evening before the rush. Good mix of patrons. Bar and lounge set up provides the ideal set up

A great little pub with helpful staff. only small but a real sense of community in this pub which is a rare thing these days. enjoyed both drinks and food, and a few tips on local restaurants.

friendly atmosphere, nice food and polite staff! Your typical local village pub! Go there regularly, very nice place to meet people and pass an evening away.

Good bar service but as said rowdy when TV football on-beer expensive £4 for a pint of Guinness !! Also can be very cold heating rarely on, profit consonance rather than customer comfort I feel.

We regularly go out with friends on Friday evenings and are always looking for new pubs with real ale and decent food. This week we tried the Ladybird and were very impressed. Friendly staff, quick service even though the pub was packed and a nice meal. The food is typical pub grub but was nicely presented and tasty - lasagne and scampi both to be recommended. Having read other reviews I'm not sure what people expect - it does what it says is does - decent real ale, nice food, it's clean and friendly. We will definitely return.

Bit rowdy, quite a few drunks in there, didn't bother with meal as the atmosphere was poor.Staff seem to only want to serve the locals, and seem even reluctant to do that, if I wasn't staying at the hotel next door, this place would be given a very wide berth

Stayed next door at the Travelodge. Used pub in the evening for drinks. Pub like it should be ie without prams and screaming children. More like this and they would not be closing at an alarming rate

This place is next door to the Travel Lodge in Bromsgrove that we were staying at. It's ok but it came across as a bloke's boozer.... Not really for me...

Being local we use this pub for drinking more than eating, however have eaten here on several occasions. Have always found the food very nice & all home made, I do agree with other reviews though that a little pricey & smaller portions than other competitors & smaller than previous visits.... Still nice & worth a try...

Great little pub but the one meal we had there was very basic and very average. Bridged the gap but i wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, especially as there are a couple of really nice restaurants near by.

Popped in for a drink before a meal and were very surprised at how busy it was on a Friday night (before 7 pm) Seems very popular with people heading home after week at workNot bad range of drinks

I know it's basic but it was the nicest ham egg and chips I've had for ages! Good real ales too. I shall return. Obviously a popular local pub just a few yards from Bromsgrove station.

This place is extremely busy however when we walked in a lovely young man welcomed us took us over to a table as there was a few of us. Drinks ordered and they were quite reasonable prices. The food was stunning. We did have to wait a little bit longer than normal but we didn’t mind as they were extremely busy. The food was piping hot. The service was very nice and served with a smile. Can’t get better than that..
