Lady Grey’s Tea Room in Bexley

This is a great find and so much for your money. The best afternoon tea I've had for less money than others.

I booked this venue for my daughters baby shower and couldn’t fault a thing. We had sole use of the tea rooms which had been decorated for us and looked lovely. The afternoon tea was excellent and plentiful. The service was great, nothing was too much trouble and the staff were so helpful - with special thanks to Sharon. We all had a fabulous afternoon and I would highly recommend.

Celebrated my daughter’s forthcoming wedding with close family at Greys. We chose an afternoon tea and it was fabulous. Excellent service, superb variety of sandwiches, scones, cakes. So much we all had boxes of extras to take home with us. I would highly recommend Greys a real gem in Bexley high street.

Had the most wonderful afternoon tea here today with my son and daughter in law the food was great and plentiful. This place offers an experience with various teas and coffees to choose from, delicious sandwiches, hot scones and various sweet treats and it’s all kicked off with a deconstructed pig in blanket, a nice touch. The staff are warm and friendly, with nothing too much effort. We highly recommend this place it’s a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours whatever your occasion, it will be special here

We had the pleasure of afternoon tea today to celebrate a friends birthday and it was by far one of the best we have had . The food was four courses and far more than most of us could eat and the service was friendly and very welcoming.

Had an afternoon tea to get together with friends before Christmas. Restaurant was decorated, warm & inviting. Food was delicious and plentiful (had to take some home). Good value for money. The manager was lovely, we was not made to feel rushed and special dietary requirements were catered for. Highly recommended. We shall be visiting again.

We had a family gathering for my mother's 90th Birthday here earlier this month. A fantastic event, perfect venue, excellent (and copious) food, helpful and attentive staff. Very helpful regarding food allergies and preferences. Highly recommended for events such as ours or just a pop-in.

Perfect way to spend an afternoon, having a fabulous afternoon tea, with friends for a 40th celebration. Great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff and the food and endless supply of tea and coffee was lovely. So much food we were even able to take the left overs home with us. I was let down by my original booking and rang Greys to make a last minute reservation for 15 people for an afternoon tea to celebrate my 40th. We had an absolutely fantastic time. There was plenty of food and drinks and everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly. There was so much food left over so we made boxes to take home! sharon and family were so helpful and made the whole experience perfect. I couldn’t be more thankful to Sharon for taking my phone call on Friday and have us at Greys on Sunday. We couldn’t have had a better evening. Thank you to Sharon and family x

We had an absolutely fantastic afternoon at Greys on Saturday afternoon! Sharon catered for 6 adults and 4 kids we all had afternoon tea and a girly get together in advance of my wedding next month. The whole experience was perfect and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The sandwiches are fresh, the scones and cakes were absolutely delicious and went down very well- you will not be short of food! This is a lovely little tea room with welcoming and friendly staff and we were really looked after, thank you so much Sharon and team! We will be back xx

This is THE PLACE for a great afternoon tea! Just this afternoon we celebrated a birthday at Greys, it was wonderful. The ambience and colour of this very intimate Tea Shop in Bexleyheath

My wife and I have been to many places for afternoon tea, including the Langham Palm Court, Fortnum & Masons and The Shard. But the afternoon we had recently at Greys Tea and Coffee House in Bexley Village was not only equal to the best of them in terms of Quality, it exceeded all of them in terms of Quantity. The starter of salad, hummus and quiche was a nice surprise, followed by a generous selection of finger sandwiches and then some wonderful homemade scones with a large helping of clotted cream and jam. By that time we were full up and there was still one further course to come, a lovely selection of chocolates, biscuits and mini-cakes. There was so much we gratefully accepted the paper bags that were offered for taking home what was left. What a treat and it’s so local. We will be back.

Tea and coffee shop right in the centre of Bexley Village with plenty of outside and inside seating. Good value food and drinks. We had tea coffee and smoothies (really tasty and freshly made). Good range of sandwiches and cakes at reasonable prices. Owners and staff very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return to this little gem!

Amazing afternoon tea. Brilliant quality, wide selection and such great value for money. Brilliant portions so came home with a doggy bag. Very accommodating of our one year old too. Highly recommend!

Went today group of four for afternoon tea 2 ladies working there(sorry forgotten names) was lovely always making sure everything was ok and if we needed refills, the food was amazing so much that we ended up take some home to finish. Amazing

Have just had the absolute pleasure of a delicious afternoon tea from this Coffee House....wow tea for two is excellent value with a good range of savoury sandwiches ,scone cream and jam and lots and I mean lots of great cakes and sweet treats!i opted for delivery and it arrived at exactly the time I had asked for!If your looking to surprise someone or just fancy a treat i highly recommend you give this a go!

If you are looking for a superb afternoon tea delivery, look nowhere other than Grey's. More than enough food for the money and it is of the highest quality and taste. Plenty of different items from sandwiches to cakes and sweets. Perfect!

Had delivery of afternoon tea for my husbands birthday. The food was delicious and very fresh. There was plenty of selection both in the sandwiches and cakes. Sharon arranged the food in the boxes very well and added little touches which sprinkling small marshmallows over the selection. All looked and tasted delicious.

Ordered afternoon tea for 2 for my dad and stepmum, I live in Northamptonshire, and have not seen them for 6 months,as they are 84 and 91 no internet, just a phone call everyday, afternoon tea delivery went down a treat , their words , the sandwiches, where so fresh,and the cakes ,so many, it was fantastic, the whole phone call was about how lovely the afternoon tea was,will use again it made their day and mine, to hear them so enthusiastic, fantastic result ,thank you stay safe !

Paid quite a bit extra for a 'festive' afternoon tea for 2 delivered to our home. Unfortunately the only festive things were 1 piece of Xmas cake and 2 mince pies. Otherwise it was the everyday afternoon tea. Sandwiches could have been turkey and cranberry or chicken and stuffing etc for the extra money. I also requested no fish but got loads, salmon and tuna so some were wasted. After all this I would still have the regular afternoon tea as it is delicious and plentiful, just not the festive one.

We came here today for my mum's 60th birthday and can honestly say the experience was brilliant. All of the staff was so friendly and accommodating and the food was incredible. The value for money was amazing and there was so much left over. Will definitely be returning and could not recommend more !!

Due to lockdown, had afternoon tea delivered. Absolutely amazed at the amount and the selection of food. Quiche, sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, massive slices of cakes, smaller cakes, biscuits, macarons and chocolates. Well worth the price. Will definitely use again.

I ordered the Afternoon Tea as a surprise for my mum's birthday and collected. We found the selection was just divine and the nibbles were very tasty. I will certainly order another Afternoon Tea from Greys.You simply must try it. My mum loved it as I know you will too.

Due to covid had an afternoon tea for 2 delivered. The food was excellent. There was a good selection of sandwiches, delicious scones with cream and jam, a box of sweet treats including 2 cup cakes and a box of 4 huge slices of delicious cake. Only problem was deciding what 2 cakes each to have, ended up cutting each slice in half!!

I’ve been here many times before and the food and drink is nice but the service I received yesterday was very poor and I was made to feel very uncomfortable.I went with my two young children as I had to feed my youngest, sat outside and when it started to rain very heavily I came inside (had no help bringing my food and drink in whilst holding a 9 month old baby and getting a two year old to sit down). I was asked to put my pram down, which I was happy to do but explained it would probably take up more room. The manager agreed and said it’s fine but the waitress didn’t like this. She moaned and said it was in the way and huffed and puffed every time she went past. She gave us dirty looks and was just very rude, in the end I felt so uncomfortable that I paid and left before I finished. I wish I said something to the manager now but I just wanted to leave. Such a shame but I won’t be returning here and will be warning other mums to avoid. There’s much more friendlier staff at other cafes in the village so wouldn’t recommend going here.

We visited recently for a celebration afternoon tea. The food was excellent, sandwiches freshly made for us, delicious cakes and scones. No one left hungry and goodie bags to take away what we did not eat. Lucy could not have been more helpful, making for a lovely unrushed afternoon. Highly recommended.

Had an afternoon tea for 2 people delivered yesterday. It arrived on time and there was so much food! Everything was fresh and delicious. Great value for money- would highly recommend.

Visited for afternoon tea with my family for my sister, who is pregnant. The food was amazing, just so much variety and the cakes, sweet treats and scones OMG, heavenly with delicious coffee and tea. Left with bags of treats left over and a slice of cake which my family will love at home. Great service and lovely staff and owner. We would all return. The sandwiches were my favourite, catering for all tastes. Thank you for looking after us.

Nice hot chocolate but would expect home made cakes and sandwich filler in a tea room, not ones from Costco and was served up a scone with mould on it so had to send it back. I could see that it was also shop bought. The scone was the main thing I went there for so I was very disappointed. The ladies were apologetic but offered no discount off the bill, just didn’t charge me for the scone that I didn’t eat. Sorry to say I won’t be going back.

A lovely quaint tea house.. afternoon tea was excellent. There was soooo much. The sandwiches were freshly made up as we sat there.. You could take home what wasn’t eaten. Endless Tea & Coffee with the option to purchase other beverages. The staff were attentive and lovely. Best afternoon tea I have had in a long time, highly recommend

Lady Greys has had a revamp under new ownership; a modern green, copper and grey colour scheme made the room feel fresh and cool. There was a good selection for gluten free and plenty of food. The cherry scones were to die for and x5 types of sandwiches! lady grey were incredibly accommodating of our therapy dog, 6 year old and toddler/buggy. Many thanks

A few friends had visited Greys and all highly rated so had high expectations...and was not disappointed! Two of our party had dietary requirements, which were catered for with no problem. Food was presented beautifully, the sandwiches were freshly made, scones were best I'd ever eaten, the treat tray was a lovely touch and we all got a slice of cake to take home!

We had a lovely afternoon tea yesterday that was such good value for money. Such a nice little tea shop in Bexley with lovely friendly staff. There were 6 of us with a few who had dietary requirements, which they easily and happily catered for. The afternoon tea was fabulous with plentiful portions and so so yummy. Would 100% recommend and will be back again soon!

All sandwiches are freshly prepared for you as you arrive, so although there is a little bit of a wait to get your good it is worth it. Lots of lovely fresh sandwiches followed by home made scones with jam and fresh cream, all finished off with a ‘treat tray’ that absolutely has something for everyone. Really enjoyed it. These lovely ladies squeezed us in last minute as that was the only day all 9 of us could manage. At the end of our experience we had a lovely chat with the owners. Well behaved dogs are welcome which is nice. I’m just about to book again! Tip: the more fussier eaters can be catered for, just let them know when you book or latest as you arrive.

We went for afternoon tea as a treat. It is a quaint little shop with a lovely welcoming atmosphere.Parking close by and next to the train station.Three courses of afternoon tea for £17.50! Generous portions and so tasty. We had to take some away as we just couldn't eat it all.I would definitely recommend.

I was amazed by the afternoon tea. Lots of varied sandwiches; a scone, a huge variety of sweet treats and to top it all, a slice of cake. I couldn’t eat it all and the very friendly staff boxed it all up for me to take it home. A delightful little tearoom which is a credit to Bexley village.

Visited yesterday afternoon with a group of friends. Delicious food and a nice pot of tea with real leaves and enough for at least 2 cups and my request for hot water top up was happily met. My prawn sandwich had plenty of filling and a nice amount of cream and jam with my scone which was soft and easy to spread cream and jam on whereas some just crumble. Friendly attentive service and a calm atmosphere. Perfect.

I went to Lady Greys today with my Mother,Wife and Grandson. I have to say that the table was laid out wonderfully and the service was excellent. Kim (owner/Waitress) was superb in her attention to detail and could not of been more helpful. I would highly recommend this place.Thank you for a lovely afternoon

What a beautiful little tea room!!Reserved a table for my baby shower as wanted something low key and local but got so much more.Lovely atmosphere, beautiful decor, the sisters who run the place are so friendly and really accommodating. They made my friends and family feel so welcome and spoilt us rotten with a selection of food and drink until we burst!Will definitely be returning to experience everything they have on offer (inc. pie n mash fridays).Thanks so much Lady Greys :)

Went here today for lunch with a group of friends, very friendly lady looked after us, enjoyed our lunch very much, everything was fresh and the place is very clean. Will be returning.

My friends and I (including my friends 6 week old daughter) found the tea room today by chance. The ladies running the tea room were really lovely and couldn’t do more to accommodate us. We had a really nice lunch and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon. They are offering a specialMother’s Day afternoon tea which il definitely be booking for my mum. It’s a real gem!

We first visited at about 11.30 am only two weeks after it opened and were a bit disappointed that the cakes we chose from the menu were not available nor were the croissants. However, the friendly apology followed by toasted teacakes and alternative cake choices arrived with our tea we settled in to enjoy ourselves in the very pleasant surroundings. I must say I was rather concerned that there were so many menu items not available so early in the day and wondered what would happen when people came in later expecting a full afternoon tea experience. After all, first impressions are important. However, our most recent visit was flawless and it's clear that the management have hit just the right note in a Village that already has several other cafés and restaurants.

It was our first time at Lady Greys today, staff are lovely service good but the lemon drizzle cake was very dry. Nice afternoon but I have had a lot better.

Myself and three other old hags went for afternoon tea and we were not disappointed. The sandwiches were lovely and the service was excellent. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we wanted with pot after pot of tea, The scones with jam and cream was delicious as was the cakes. We were all given a slice of cake boxed to take home which was a lovely touch. The three old hags and myself were so full, we had to get a taxi home as we could not walk with such full tums so thank you for a relaxing afternoon and no time limit on our stay.

Had such a lovely afternoon with friends and family for a baby shower. Staff are so friendly and do so much to help by adding perfect little touches, always topping up tea and making sure we were all ok and having a good time. Cannot recommend this lovey tea room enough. Will defo be back to enjoy some more delicious cakes and sandwiches. Thank you Lady Greys.

I saw there were lots of excellent reviews for the tea room so perhaps I just went on an off day. That said everything was okay. The staff were super friendly and the crockery really quaint but the food wasn't of great quality in particular the cakes. We saw amazing looking ones on display and I imagine they were very tasty however the afternoon tea served ones that reminded us of tasteless frozen supermarket patisserie and cheap cake. Whilst the sandwiches were plentiful the egg sandwich I can only assume was prepared with a utensil previously used for preparing the fish ones, as it tasted of fish. Also as non smokers when the staff opened the back door in the kitchen to have a cigarette outside it was immediately noticeable in the interior of the small tea room.

I met a friend here last week for tea and it was great - served in a tea pot and it had real leaves!! The sandwiches were lovely as was the cake. The two sisters that run this were very friendly and even asked us to be guinea pigs to taste a couple of ideas that they have for the menu - even changing mine to a veggie option when I said I don't eat salmon! This is a lovely, quaint tea room literally a minute away from the train station and just what I needed after a long trip.

Had a lovely time on Saturday with friends. Food was amazing and staff were at your beck and call for anything you needed/wanted! The sandwiches were amazing!!! Never spent so long having afternoon tea but didn’t want it to be over!!! Lovely shop! Will definitely be visiting with family and friend very soon!!!

My sister and I wanted to treat our nan to lunch and by chance decided to try lady grey's tea room. Well to say it was the perfect choice would be an understatement. When we walked in the staff greeted us straight away and organised a table in an already packed tea room. The menus on the table were an easy read and we had such a wide range to choose from. We had 2 pots of tea, a hot chocolate, 3 sandwiches and 3 slices of cake. The proportion sizes were great considering the such reasonable prices and even the hot chocolate was topped with marshmallows and cream which my sister confirmed was nicer than costas! My nan still lives in her old school ways and continuously chewed off the waitresses ears and we were there a while yet never once was we made to feel a nuisance or rushed. My nan had in her words 'one of the most memorable lunches in such a beautiful place'. Thankyou so much to the staff and we will be sure to be back soon!

Me and my friends visited lady greys a couple of weeks ago for a friends birthday, we had afternoon tea and it was such a lovely, quaint little shop. All the staff couldn’t help us more is they tried. I love the setting and all the little nik naks in the shop. Overall great time and will defiantly be returning very soon.

I have been here a few times, lovely cakes and food. It’s very relaxed, the staff are very welcoming. I would recommend anyone to visit.

Visited Lady Grey’s today as it had been recommended to me by a friend and I was certainly not disappointed!! A lovely pot of tea, the sandwiches are delicious and the cake is to die for. The decor is beautiful and so many lovely little touches. The staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you. Will definitely be visiting again and recommending it to my friends and family.

Can not thank the staff enough for going out of their way to make my little sister's first afternoon tea special!!!! Even going as far as to ensure she had a princess tea pot serving her hot tea (Orange juice) and allowing her to put (pretend) sugar in! A 6 year old was very proud to be having afternoon tea like a princess! Staff was very understanding and was more than happy to entertain a 6 year old imagination. Service was excellent friendly and professional, cakes were out of this world and is a must! Would highly recommend!

Went to Lady Greys today with two friends for lunch and a catch up. What a beautiful establishment, I could not fault the food, the staff or the shop. It was clean tidy and so very welcoming and so polite. I can assure you I will be back again and again I have also booked in for an afternoon tea. Will for sure be a new go to place for me and many friends. Very well done to the people that have opened such a beautiful shop with beautiful and accommodating staff.

Brought my mum and my nan here after hearing from a friend that it was so nice and pleasant. We absolutely loved it. The service was good. The staff were friendly. They have such variety of stock. All fresh. The interior was lovely. Just an all round lovely experience. Highly recommend.

We came here for a birthday as our usual was closed and can safely say we'll give our usual a swerve in the future! We were so impressed with the afternoon tea- four courses (a little homemade quiche and sausage roll each, sandwiches, scones and a mountain of cake) of such quality just £16.95 a head was such good value for money and the food was lovely. It was all the extras too- the place is just so so pretty, beautiful decoration everywhere and the tables are laid and set with such care and attention to detail. We all got our own teapot each (with lovely little cosies) and with the scones had a pot of cream and jam each, not one tiny one to share as some places palm you off with. We also had a lovely little gift bag each with magnets and a tea bag to take away. The service was fantastic too- all of the women were lovely, checking if we were okay and chatting, we were there for a while but didn't feel rushed in the slightest. The cake was so nice that we ended up buying an extra four slices to take home for the rest of the family! Highly recommend this place- it was only a week ago and I'm already itching to return!

A friend reserved a table at this newly established tea room for afternoon tea with friends for a special occasion. We booked from 1:30 and were never told there was a time limit. Food was slow to come (our tray of sandwiches had been left on an adjacent table unbeknownst to us and the veggie options were poor) so it was a slow but easy afternoon. Suddenly at 3:45 with cakes still on the table we were told we had to leave by 4pm as another party wanted the table. (We were the only ones there and there was a double table vacant in the shop at the time, but the other party apparently wanted the table we were sitting at). We were made to feel extremely uncomfortable and asked to leave 5 minutes later! Some of the staff were rude and even swore at us!

Had a fantastic afternoon at Lady Greys Tea Room with two friends. The decoration is lovely staff very attentive and food is wonderful we took our cakes home in boxes as we were full. Highly recommended and will definitely come back
