Breakfast was a bit small Atmosphere was ruined by staff who were complaining about a man walking past with dogs Was out of place As the man was doing nothing wrong And could not defend himself Totally unprofessional from the staff would not recommend

Amazing breakfast here. Never failed to have a good meal. One or 2 minor issues spoil it. Cheap sauce. Lack of paper towrls in toiket. Just 1 smelly wrt hand towel that god knows who has wiped their hands in. Could also do with Wifi

Perfect full English breakfast very reasonably priced. Always service with a smile and a pleasant welcome.

Another great meal st the ‘Charlotte’ The lunchtime specials just can’t be beaten, we had the beef dinners today, lots of freshly cooked vegetables, loads of delicious meat ( todays cooked dinner choice of meats was beef or chicken) with lovely tasty gravy . Other specials and menu choices available but the specials were our choice today. All washed down with a piping hot mug of tea- bliss!!!

What is not to like? It’s a traditional greasy spoon cafe! A National tradition, a National treasure. Bog standard full English breakfast, mug of tea and toast. Bog standard breakfast is not a bad thing by the way! It’s what we want! Can’t be beat!

Recently ordered a takeaway from here, the food was cold and the assistant coughed all over it, should have given it back really!!

Breakfasts are big and delicious and very reasonable in price. Would definitely recommend.Also busy which tells you how good the food quality is.

I don't live in Merthyr full time but any trip home would not be complete without several cooked breakfasts at the Lady Charlotte.

Breakfast at the Lady Charlotte is a must if you're hungry and anywhere near Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil. A no frills venue that's extremely clean & serves the best breakfast for miles around.

This is the best place to go for breakfast in merthyr tydfil and the staff are brilliant there is decable axes and there are toilet here aswell

Another great meal at the Charlotte. Beef dinner was delicious. Really busy when we got there but food still served piping hot, well presented and of its usual high quality. Never had a bad meal at the Charlotte and they will even do you a takeaway meal or toll if you can’t eat in 👍👍👍👍

As a family we love the ‘Charlotte ‘ and it never let’s is down, great breakfasts, lovely ham and eggs, yummy curry and cooked dinners to die for! Staff friendly, service good and everyone made welcome. Only wish they were open on Sunday’s or did cooked dinners on Saturday as could buy them instead of cooking Sunday lunch!!

Had a mega size breakfast, the bacon was to die for and the plate was huge. If Carlsberg did breakfasts... it was actually “probably the best breakfast in the world!”

Nice place run by friendly old ladies who cook a homely meal with passion. Got here by mistake but got lucky.

Called in with work colleagues. There's a great choice of breakfasts/brunch and roast dinners. All very reasonably priced. The roast dinner was large, the beef delicious and plenty of vegetables. Great place to call in.

Nos encanta aquí, agradable ambiente caseras del desayuno, mejor de lo que tienes en cadenas de tiendas que están por todas partes en Merthyr. El tocino es grueso y sabroso. Los precios son razonables y buena relación calidad-precio, única razón de ser de una 4 a veces es más barato condimentos son marcas y a veces los condimentos no se limpian la mesa a veces transitada que es desagradable. Además, latas frías de pop no son siempre frías. Evaluación de higiene de los alimentos es de 4, así que no hay nada de que preocuparse realmente. El servicio es bueno, el personal es acogedor.

The best breakfast in Merthyr Tydfil, . Warm welcome , food freshly cooked and guaranteed to go away feeling full and satisfied . The rest of the menu is highly recommend but it is the breakfast that keeps me coming back

Staff are very friendly, even though I had not visited for a while after having back surgery, I was asked by a member of the staff "how are you, not seen you here for a while, how you feeling now" thank you Eirwyn, something that I thought was nice in view of the number of people that visit the place. If I was working in Pontypridd then I would rather travel to lady Charlotte than waste time finding something there, G

I regularly come here with the girls from work the breakfasts are amazing!!!! Lots of variety and choice and delicious would highly recommend

By far the best full English around, we travel 10 miles just for this! Service could be a bit friendlier though!

I use to love this cafe the food is lovely I can't fault that every thing is cooked really well and good quality but the price has gone up so much lately they are no longer doing a drink with the breakfasts either so that's a extra 80p each on the meal bringing a large breakfast and a drink to about £7.60 where as the Albion is still only £4.80

Go there every Saturday morning with my son his friend and my friend and have never had a bad breakfast. Staff very friendly, always busy but you don't mind waiting when you know you are going to enjoy it as much as we.doIf you want some bread and butter to mop up the girls always gives it to you free of charge All in all my favourite place to have food Can't comment on the dinners as I've never had 1 but what I have heard they are 10 /10

The Best Breakfast anywhere. The Bacon is thick and tasty with no added preserves all ingredients taste like they should. They also do great lunchtime meals and excellent Sunday dinner. Reasonably priced and served with a smile. Highly recommended .

Carl and his team served us with great value traditional food. The outdoor area with picnic tables allowed our coach party a chance to chat whilst they ate with plenty of space to relax. We let Carl know we were coming and he produced exactly what we'd asked for. The facilities were clean and there was a perfect parking space for our coach right outside.

Upon walking up the front path to this cafe the smell of grease was overwhelming. It's a basic no frills cafe that has no customer service.We were kept waiting for at least 8 minutes before someone even acknowledged us .The windows and frames inside the cafe are dirty, it's so basic and a Loud buzz was cconstantly in our ears.tea was walloped on our table In a mug , and the smell of grease make my stomach turn.Needs a makeover , a better extraction system , and the staff need training Asap.

Great traditional breakfast. Good value for money. You have a choice what size breakfast you want. Basic surroundings but the food makes up for it. They sell milk bread bacon sausages etc.Well worth a visit.

An absolute must if you are in the area . An unassuming cafe from the outside / could be a transport cafe but inside an excellent eating experience awaits. A clean friendly place where you can see the food being prepared. Brilliant breakfast - don't go large unless you are sharing!A good selection of well priced first class food.Sunday lunch is very popular. A good choice rather than service stations for those passing through.Get the post code and let your sat nav take you!

Been to the Lady Charlotte on many occasions. Yes, it is a workers cafe, and that us what they are geared towards but the food, especially the breakfasts are fantastic. With service second to none and it being spotlessly clean I would highly recommend this establishment.

So rare these days I get to eat a traditional fry-up like this with the works, just don't tell my PT!

I come here quite regularly all food Is cooked great and large portions Sunday dinner is good but the breakfasts are my favourite the best in Merthyr by far imo

Absolutely delicious piping hot Sunday dinners served in an unpretentious café setting. Generous portions also. I have rarely eaten better home cooked food even in the poshest of eateries,

What I liked about this place was, they knew their audience and catered for them .... They didn't try to be something that they are not. Cheap and cheerful, lovely customer service and good hearty food ..... I can't really see what more you would want or expect from this place.Ideal.

Do a take away sunday dinner - who ever thought of that should get an OBE!
