Very nice restaurant inside and beautiful decor Staff really well manared and always asking and making sure everything is OK with the food so great place to go to for a meal and real chippy chips which is a great bonus this is a must to visit if your looking for a great meal and lovely surroundings to enjoy my experience was great couldn't fault anything was great from start to finish

Love this place. Been here for dinner, breakfast and had a takeaway meal before. The decor is beautiful, the food is amazing, the staff are lovely and attentive. Good prices and selection of food. I’ve had Eggs Benedict, my friend had Eggs Royale. Beautiful. Dinner we had the lobster ravioli. Hot chilli gamberetti for starter, the bruschetta con formaggio and mixed pane olives. Cocktails are nice!

Lovely food, great staff and excellent service. Only complaint, the tables are way too close together! No privacy and I had to move our drinks glasses to allow the people next table to get out!

My daughter went to La Vita last week. The food was amazing as always and they have a good option for Gluten Free as I am Coeliac. I want to say the service was fantastic from start to finish. Our server was Kerry and she could not do enough for us. So lovely and helpful and had amazing energy. She was really lovely. We have a lovely experience.

First time visiting and won't be the last. Popped in for some lunch and wasn't disappointed. Restaurant itself is tastefully decorated throughout. We opted for 2 course lunch for £11.95 which represented excellent value for money. Not long to wait, and service was quick. Felt where we were seated was a bit crowded, very close to other tables, and felt I had to breathe in every time someone wanted to pass. The kitchen is open plan, which staff should be mindful of when shouting at members of their team for all to hear.

Hello everyone, Just a short Email to once again express my gratitude and thanks especially to ALL the staff at "La Vita" Barrachnie , especially ti "Stafana" and "Giovanni" for their service to me and my family on our recent visit ( Mon 08th April 2024 ) to celebrate my daughter in law "Lauren" birthday. Absolutely first class food as always. But also important to remember the unseen hero's , the chefs! We have been regular visitors to "La Vita" for many years , mainly "George Square" and also the stunning restaurant in "Barrachnie" and never once had a poor meal. Thank you chefs ! But the staff are always very welcoming.. provided my 5 grand daughters with "La Vita" Teddy bears !!! Which they Absolutely loved. These are the simple things that make "La Vita" the special place that it is. Thank you all. God Bless. Frank

Excellent dinner, lovely staff, atmosphere and food. Pasta was exceptional, didn’t feel bloated afterwards, I had the carbonara. Chilli prawns were beautiful too, it was a nice combo with the chippy-esq batter. Lastly the mozzarella frittatas were delicious. No dessert as we were so full, but did see some stunning ice cream sundaes go past when we were there. Will be back for sure.

Lovely restaurant inside, decorated fabulously although can feel a little dark at lunchtime. The lunch and dinner menu are both great and would recommend a lot of the dishes but not so great for breakfast, the sauce for the eggs benedict is terrible and the pancakes are dry rather than light and fluffy. The fried breakfast is just standard fare and you can probably get better elsewhere for a lot less money. Stick to lunch or dinner and enjoy the food and the service.

Had a lovely breakfast, served with Italian home made toasted bread which was delicious. Service was excellent- friendly and efficient. Prices were reasonable. The restaurant was busy so would advise booking.

We only went in for cake and coffee.We knew the cakes were expensive but the charge was astronomical.It is a beautiful place. Both cakes to carry out were £4.95 each but to sit in £8.95.The addition to the apple pie was a small portion of ice cream however no addition to the pavlova as we were told it was gluten free. I queried this ridiculous mark up and I was told it was for the addition of ice cream but nothing on the other.The person phoned her boss and he told her the carry out price for the pavlova should be £5.25.Absolutely no decent explanation given. Don't get me wrong the cakes were lovely.Lattes had to be changed as not hot and too much foam.We were sitting in the bar area. The bill was just under £30 for 2 lattes,a tea and 2 cakes.This is far too expensive and a total rip off.The service and ambience was lovely. The week before we purchased vouchers for £140 for a present after having a lovely coffee however if it had been today we would have to think twice if we we would purchase these again.I know the price of everything has increased but this is unfair to the consumer.

Second time this week visiting La Vita Barrachnie after I Dined with my friends here on Easter Monday and it was amazing, I had to bring along my partner to try and this did not disappoint. Mains were lovely and dessert...wow!!! A place you must visit!!!

we have been here before and enjoyed a nice lunch, this time we opted for my wifes birthday dinner, we were seated promptly and the service was good we had no complaints at all, the food however fell short of expectations. we had the arancini which came with a whisky mustard sauce on the side on the side and it was very overpowering to the point I couldn't actually taste the arancini, same with the chicken starters, very overpowering mustard sauce on it. The mains were fine just a bit underwhelmed. overall it was an average experience but sadly I expected more, the venue is beautiful and the service was good, but sadly let down by the food

I was part of a group of 26 that dined in the restaurant on Tuesday evening. It was a special family occasion, a surprise event. We had all pre-ordered what we wanted from the menu, as it was such a large group of people. This part went without issue. Sadly, the night was not great. Each and every adult who dined had issues with their food, bland, not in any way authentic Italian and none of it wasn very warm. The kids food bizarrely got served after the adults food. We didn't complain on the evening as my Mum had arranged it and was paying for it all, we didn't want to upset her as it was such an important family event that she had planned. I'm now aware that she privately spoke with management on the night and was met with a rude response. The following day my Mum spoke about her disappointment in the meal with the family, and we all decided to tell her that we were in agreement. At no point was she looking for any compensation or money back, I must stress this as I know the management will come back and say she was. At no point did she. She spent the best part of £1000 on the dinner by the time all of the drinks were added on. A lot of money, for what should have been a special family occasion. I have dined in the restaurant on several occasions as I am local. On previous times it has been slow service, but the food was never as poor as it was on Tuesday. The food we were served doesn't compare to their City Centre restaurant. It was absolutely sub standard. My Mum went in to complain the following day, and was met with a rude and aggressive manager who shouted at her and told her she was wrong. All she was wanting to do was to give constructive feedback in order to help a local business thrive. I will never be back at this restaurant, neither will my family and I'll be making sure that my friends know exactly what a poor experience we had. People need to know how rude and aggressive the management in this place are. Cannot take any sort of criticism and angrily blame the customer who has spent their hard earned cash and got a crap meal in return for it. Embarrassing way to react to bad feedback, and I'll await the rude reply from staff that blame everyone apart from themselves!!!

Smart place. You would never know that it used to be a supermarket. Booking was OK but a bit of enthusiasm or even sounding happy on the phone would be nice. The worst experience of my life. If I could I would give minus 10 as review. Never ever going back to this worst restaurant ever. To start with, they brought completely different drinks then what we ordered, on questioning about wrong drinks their reply was " this is what u ordered when we asked them to double check they came back with answer that they didn't have some ingredients for cocktails/mocktails", which could have been fine as long as they could have said earlier before deciding our drinks for us. Nevermind cocktails, one of my friend ordered pineapple juice and they gave us orange juice. Then we decided to speak with manager. Mark came to our table, as a manager he should be more concern about wrong ordered getting served instead he came and said you are upsetting my staff , door is open and you are free to go. He had no manners, no curiosity and no acceptance of their mistake. I called the staff who been serving us and she confirmed in front of him that she wasn't upset at all. He tried to lie on our face and even in presence of his own staff. We were party of 11. I guess he was struggling with big order but that doesn't mean you try to insult your customer by saying "door is open you are free to go." We were all British Indian , first time we all ever experienced racisum in our life. This restaurant is not worth for your self respect.

I went there with few of my friends group for dinner. Ambience and decor was good but I was disappointed with the service. Our Cocktails and non alcoholic drinks were not correct ( alcoholic and non alcoholic order mixed up or had incorrect mix of ingredients or we got a different drink v/s what was ordered) We raised our honest concern for the drinks which were served to us but at last, we had a negative and disrespectful response from the manager.If the manager could have listened to our concerns calmly and would have tried to resolve it positively and respectfully, that might have left us with good customer service impression but unfortunately that did not happen to us at all! Disappointed.

Will not recommend at all especially due to very poor customer service and misbehavior by the manager, he could have handled the situation better..very insulting language was used by the manager "the door is open you can walk out"..and false claim that one of their staff was crying because we were checking about our drinks, but when we talked to their staff none of them confirmed that..not acceptable at all..

Our much-anticipated evening with friends turned into a complete disappointment at this restaurant. Despite our excitement, the experience was marred by incredibly poor customer service from the staff and a shockingly rude manager. Our drinks were a disaster; they either belonged to another table or were poorly made with incorrect ingredients, resulting in dreadful taste. When we tried to address the issue with the manager, they responded with unnecessary aggression, escalating the situation further. Regrettably, we decided to leave the establishment, thoroughly disappointed by the whole ordeal. Needless to say, we won't be recommending this restaurant to anyone.

Disappointed I apologise for the unfortunate experience we had at the restaurant last night. My friends and I were deeply disappointed by the subpar quality of the cocktails and the unacceptable behaviour exhibited by the manager(Mark). It's distressing to receive racist remarks and be treated disrespectfully in any establishment. We sincerely hope the restaurant's management takes appropriate action to address this issue, as no one should have to endure such treatment while simply trying to enjoy a night out with friends.

The food was first class and the staff were excellent, very attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend La Vita as it was also great value and will certainly return.

I had the lasagna bite and then the Mia casa and lemon and white chocolate cheesecake it was all amazing and very tasty and well enjoyed and the place looks amazing and the staff are so nice and friendly and funny.

Lasagna was tasteless mush ,chips had been left lying in starchy water for too long which made them chewy at the edges, no bread served with soup from the specials menu overall very disappointing

Went in for breakfast and we had Italian omelette with roast potatoes, coffee, and toast was lovely and if you haven't been they do lunch and evening meals this place is so beautiful never saw anywhere like this stunning

Been around 7/8 times and the food is really always good. The service is pretty shocking to be honest and we have only ever went back because the food is good. We won’t go back though after tonight. We called and booked a table for valentines dinner. Well, we called twice as they hung the phone up on us first time mid conversation. Forgetting that we went at our arranged time. Seated promptly but sat for 30 minutes before anybody came to our table. It was a set valentines menu, 2 course for I think £22 or 3 for £32, which we were not told about when booking but it’s understandable and not an issue. However, what was an issue is we were told we cannot order 2 courses and have to take 3. The reason? It’s after 5pm and we’re only doing 3. If we don’t want the third course we have to take it home in a box. Ice cream home in a box? Ok. It was not a choice. It was forced upon us to spend the extra money and it was not mentioned anywhere on the menu or by anyone we spoke to before we sat at that table that it was £32 per person and the time for 2 course was 5pm or earlier. No choice given. Take it or leave it. Lots of tables around us were having desserts and they were just wasted. Nobody wanted them but forced to take them. We booked at 8pm and had no choice to go anywhere else and others would have been the same. In my opinion this was a decision to get rid of all the cakes and whatever they had ordered in that nobody wanted and forced the later customers to take them. It didn’t say anywhere about a set time for 2 or 3 courses and I’ve never heard this in any other restaurant. Any other day we would’ve left but because of the time, the occasion and lack of options, we stayed. It’s a shame as it’s a lovely restaurant with good food. The consistent poor service and tonight’s experience has done for it us. Won’t be back.

I have been to this restaurant numerous times and have always been delighted with the food, the service isn't great. The front of house was very rude one of the times I visited. The last time I visited I booked a lunch for my family after my mum's funeral. We arrived to party hats on the table even though I had stated what the booking was for. I contacted the restaurant via their website and I received no reply. I will not be returning.

Everything was just right. Good menu choices, I plumped for penne Mateo for main course, one of my favourites. Garlic & Parmesan penne is fab also. Great atmosphere & would recommend for a pre theatre or celebration meal

I have been to this La Vita 7 times now. And EVERY time it is the same. Service. Service is terrible. You wait half an hour to be served after being seated, that's with you drawing attention to yourself for Service staff. If you are a shy person you could be there all night. I have been for breakfast, lunch, dinner and also just coffee. Its always the same. I have been to the restaurant first thing in the morning where there has been only me and my friend, also when it's been half full. So not a full head cover and still service is terrible. Yesterday me and my friend went in for coffee and cake. Waited 20 minutes to be served after being seated. Another 20 minutes for our cake to arrive....Still no coffee. Once arrived it was wrong order. To which the waitress gave a huff. No to me, but clear to the other member who had taken the order. This isn't anything new as I had this server who had taken the order before and same scenario. Coffee came...15 minutes later. At the time of service I asked for a small jug of milk for friends tea. This staff member was very polite, i had hopes he would return with the milk....This never arrived. We asked for the bill, yes this came immediately. We paid within 5 minutes and out the door to my friends house for a tea as I wasn't waiting another 30 minutes to heat up some milk. I have worked in restaurants/bars for over 15 years. Tearooms, hotels 4/5 star ,silver service. You need staff training. You have potential with majority of your staff to succeed, which says to me you need to rethink your supervisor roles and possibly management. Doesn't need a trained eye to see tension on the floor. I do not want to hear that a staff member was "out last night" or "on my phone and got distracted ", being rude and dismissive of other colleagues, seeing guests be uncomfortable to approach staff and hearing customers speaking to other parties discussing their server experience. People dine in your restaurant to have an experience. You need to do better in creating this. The only way is not by hiring staff with '2 years experience' as stated on indeed. It's by investing time in those you have and letting go of those that clearly find hospitality as just a 'job'.

I took my wife for food to this restaurant on Saturday the 4 th of November 2023 at 4pm. Unfortunately the food was really bad and disgusting. We had starters which was cold and tasteless, We ordered 2 fillet steaks,1 medium,1 medium well, The medium steak was severely burnt on the outside,but raw in the inside, The medium to well steak was like leather,and totally burnt. The sauce was watery with mushrooms and totally tasteless. We spoke with the server and she took my wife’s steak back to kitchen and asked for a replacement,this was also reported to area manager who attended our table to inform us that they chargrilled steaks for quickness as they were so busy. After complaining our server did not come back to our table, We had to ask for everything numerous times. We were so disappointed as this was a gift from family,and was really a terrible experience We didn’t post earlier as we were hoping someone would have contacted us concerning our situation Thanks
