La Vita Barrachnie in Glasgow City

Took my wife for a meal tonight .We were shown to a table basically right away but sat for almost 20 min without being offered a drink. 2 girls came in about 10 min after we did and they were served before us .I then got up put my jacket on went to the bar and told the girl there that we were here before the 2 girls who are being served as we speak and I said to her we are not prepared to wait any longer and left.Very poor service for such a beautiful restaurant. Have eaten there before food is fine but is spoiled by very very poor service. If you want a really nice meal with very friendly staff you should try la vita in Bishopbriggs you will not be disappointed. Won't be back at la vita Barrachnie.

Asked for a booth and was told we could only get in for 1 hour 30 mins. Took 39 mins to get served so that was only 1 hour

Again, this was another fantastic dining experience. This time, I attended with the same friends after a birthday celebration lunch here a few months back. We chose to dine here for our Christmas night out before heading into Glasgow town centre. This restaurant oozes with Festival feel, ambience and atmosphere from the moment you arrive. Outside, be prepared to be Wowed by the stunning Christmas decorations La Vita style. Once you enter, the vibrant atmosphere continues as you walk through the beautiful archways of deep pink cherry blossom trees and flowers. I orederd a pink gin and lemonade, the girls.ordered strawberry daiquiri Mocktails, ginger ale beetroot and lime. I then ordered from the Christmas menu of Italian stew, served with a creamy mash and succulent and colourful seasonable vegetables, and finished off with the mini Christmas Glory. Both dishes were delicious and well presented. My friends ordered from the A La Carte, they chose a starter of spicy brushetta and a generous portion of calamari, mains were half pizza and pasta, which were also well presented and delicious. Another fantastic dining experience, and we just had to visit the bakery and bought the mouthwatering strawberry tart towers wrapped in beautiful boxes.

Amazing staff were very helpful and friendly food was delicious and the company even better will be back with the girls in the future

Another brilliant Christmas Lunch at La Vita

Food is to die for!! Great service, amazing atmosphere. Giovani was our waiter and he was very authentic and charming! Did I mention the food was stunning? We also went to their cakeaway on our way out for the most amazing desserts that we could eat at home as we were so full! Can't wait to go back here!

The ambience is quite pleasant, and the staff are courteous. The food was exceptionally delicious.

I booked a table for a business lunch. The staff were great as always. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. Many of my guests commented on how nice the venue was and the food. We will be back again in January!

Very poor service, unfortunately! Went for a business lunch yesterday with my colleagues. We had a booking for 12:00. The food arrived 1pm to our tables - lengthy waiting but we were a group of 14, so we can still accept that. However, 2pm sharp, once the waiters cleaned our plates and we were having our coffees, and also when I was in the middle of a conversation with my colleague, the waitress approached us asking how we are going to pay, printing the receipt, expecting us to stand up and queue to make the payment. She asked my husband if he can use his calculator to count how much we should pay. Once we paid she went “that’s you; we’re not gonna ask you to wash your dishes, bye now”. We were absolutely shocked - she bothered us when we were speaking and then she suggested we should leave. The owner of this please should definitely focus on a proper staff training as waitress’ behaviour was unacceptable! Very poor experience!

First visit to La Vita despite living locally. Beautifully designed and decorated inside Spacious and comfortable. Food was very good and staff friendly. First visit but certainly not our last.

Great place to eat. Would definitely recommend it. We will be back in the future. Food was amazing with good size portions and very reasonably priced. Staff were lovely, very attentive.

We really enjoyed our visit to La Vita. Restaurant inside looks great with the different seating areas. Menu is impressive also with loads of choice and also has gluten free pasta. We all loved our food. Service was excellent, really quick and efficient. Cannot fault it and I'd definitely visit again.

Took my sis in law here for lunch to show off our local Italian restaurant.My food was lovely and the lasagne was nearly as good as my ricetta di famiglia.Unfortanly my sister in-laws was not .We did mention it to the waiter but it fell on deaf ears

Dropped in without a booking as we were passing by. We ordered from the set lunch menu which is reasonably priced and has lots of choices. Really nice Italian food served in a lovely restaurant with friendly, attentive staff and is well worth a visit.

Easy booking, delicious food, helpful friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Service was speedy but we in no way felt rushed.

Food was so tasty even the salad was delicious staff where friendly and welcoming we had a lovely girl severe use always with a smile on her face and good attitude will definitely be back.

Couldn't recommend enough. Service and food so good. Really nice place to take family or friends. Great choice of Italian food Food portions are so big so keep this in mind also desserts are massive and delicious. Absolutely fantastic.

Chicken jalapeños bites were the best, special pasta was good.. Mia casa I think needed more cream/sauce. A lot of eating in the deserts. Would definitely go back, atmosphere is really nice, beautifully decorated, pleasant staff

My wife and I visited the restaurant on a busy Friday night. It's bigger than I expected and the staff worked really well. Food, delicious. Service, excellent. We will definitely be back. Didn't take pics of the food, just ate it.

Bring a torch to read the menu the place is too dark. The cost of a soft drink is expensive, (I complained). The food was OK, the staff were very good. I live across the road and I won't be back

This place was beautiful inside. Didn't eat the food. I just went for a latte n a minute just passing thru to be fair. Whilst the bar person was gracious . The manager was rude, pompous 1and clearly judge if ur don't look ur best. Don't go. If u need to charge ur phone don't go.

A wonderful restaurant on my doorstep. The staff are so friendly and jovile while keeping it professional the surroundings are beautiful with roses everywhere the food exceptional, I enjoyed the fillet Steak Highlander a luxurious cut of Scottish beef with Haggis & blackpudding in a silky peppercorn sauce. 10/10 A wonderful meal with the family.

Front house female very unfriendly, not a nice welcome to the restaurant. Other staff apologising for her rude attitude. And not for the first time as she is always like that. La Vita should replace her with someone who actually likes the job!

Everything I've ever eaten in here was delicious and the place is gorgeous inside.

Lovely looking restaurant, and very friendly staff. Service was extremely slow, and we had to ask for drinks, and also had to ask to see dessert menu after 15 mins of our dinner plates being cleared. Will certainly go back, and just hope the service picks up, as otherwise very nice.

First time visiting La Vita and my partner and I had a great meal (17.8.24 at 1pm). Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food was excellent too. All staff in the restaurant were very accommodating and helpful. Everything we ordered was extremely fresh and tasty. Best Italian we have visited recently. We will be back very soon! Thank you again for a brilliant lunch!

Food was delicious, customer service was amazing. Lovely staff, so anttentive. Owner(I think) gave our little boy a balloon and a teddy, such a lovely evening, definitely be returning.

Celebrated a family event at La Vita and it was lovely, staff were helpful with getting us a good place to sit with our son and his large wheelchair. The food was lovely and we didn’t wait long to be served and fed. Definitely worth a visit and we’ll definitely return.

Excellent service from our server, we were a table of 13 and it was a busy Sat night. She was attentive, patient and helpful. Food was delicious and served promptly!

First time visitors yesterday and I was wowed. It looks quite random from outside, tucked in beside a co-op and a chemist but when you go in the decor is lovely. Food was very good, lunch menu great value. I had The Milano which is tapas portion of lasagne, chips and garlic bread. A feast! My auntie had the sausage supper and has raved about it ever since. As others have mentioned the tables are just a bit too close together for comfort but other than that, it was lovely and we would return.

We have been several times ( breakfast and lunch) for family meet ups, the food is excellent, plenty of choice and the staff are friendly, also next door the La Vita bakery at Barrachnie with freshly baked Italian bread & cakes is a must visit!

Birthday dinner visit , wait at reception no one acknowledged us eventually surly server takes us to table , right at the kitchen shocking noise of the machine spitting out cutlery constantly . Waiter comes to take our order but isn’t really paying attention too busy watching the table next to us leaving tip / bill leaves us mid order to grab it . Food completely tasteless . Service in McDonald’s is better overpriced overrated spend you money elsewhere . Won’t return

Booked a table of 5 for my Fathers birthday. Good service, good food and good value for what we had. I didn't mention what the booking was for but the staff must have seen the birthday card on the table and came over with a dessert and sang happy birthday to him which was a nice touch.

Lovely food from starter,s to the dessert table service was great n helpful highly recommend such good food n lovely place became our favourite place for food.

The food was tremendous. Second time to this establishment and I can't recommend the food enough. Only downside is seem to always be sat at a table beside the kitchen lol with it being so busy would be nice to be asked if seat was ok. But all in all the food and staff are incredible. Been a third time with all the family this evening and it was amazing..

Majority of our food was delicious. One of our party had the macaroni cheese which was too much pasta and not enough sauce hence the reason I didn’t give 5 stars. Service was good, not great. Waited ages to be offered tea/coffee/ desserts and again there was a lengthy wait for the bill. Atmosphere is amazing. Beautiful restaurant and hope to be back again.

Food was delicious, couldn't manage pudding so we popped into the takeaway the Terry's chocolate orange is amazing 😋😋

Food was excellent. Everything we ordered cane out perfect and hot. Our server was fantastic although the overall service in the restaurant was slow, especially waiting for drinks from the bar.

Love this place, however my last visit wasn't nice. I had ordered spaghetti bolognese expecting it to in a red sauce but it came out & it looked dark brown. There wasn't any tomato taste to it and it was very oily. Didn't eat it but I was offered something different but it put my off. I for my pudding for free though. Haven't had any issues before and will go back and try again.

Disappointing Fathers Day meal Jun 2024 • Family We have been to La Vita Barrachnie on a few occasions and our adult children had booked to come for Fathers Day breakfast/brunch (today 16/06/24) On the booking form they stated 5 adults and requested 3 high chairs. On entering there was no baby chairs and when asked the female seems noticeably annoyed that she had to get them. Our experience went down hill from there. We were booked for 11.30 and yes we arrived 5/10 minutes late, arriving separately. We were told to order our meals quickly as the menu changed at 12, which we did. Our drinks arrived and we awaited our meals. Nearly 1 hour later, after asking, given apologies and offered a round of drinks, two meals arrived. What was supposed to be poached eggs were rock hard for the eggs Benedict and eggs royal and the bread they were on was soggy and chewy. My omelette came and was okay but the mini roast potatoes tasted like chips that had been lying all day, cool & soggy. The two other meals and pancakes for the children came and was very nice. We were apologised to quite a few times for our wait but all in all we all left very disappointed given it was supposed to be a special meal for Fathers day. The waiter, tall man black hair and glasses did say there had been a problem in the kitchen which caused the backlog but this does not explain the poor quality of their food. I am sorry to be leaving this review as I do love a La Vita meal but believe me we weren't the only ones who complained, some were extremely vocal. Hopefully on our next visit this will not be our experience.

This was our first time Visiting this La vita in Barrachnie. First thought was how big and beautiful it was inside compared to La Vita in Bishopbriggs and In Glasgow. We were in a big family group. All ate 3 courses food was outstanding, hadn't been for amd Italian for a while. We all got different starters and Mains and there was no complaints about any of the food from my family. Staff are really polite, service was fast. I was going to take 1 star away for the lady who was serving us, she was forgetting to cover her mouth while yawning whilst taking our order. We asked her if she was tired, making a joke of it. 😂 She was a little slow clearing unused cutlery and glasses away. That the kids weren't using, she cleared them before we got our desserts. Not a biggy she might of been really tired and having a off day. Didn't put me off. We will definitely go back here. Kids loved the beautiful bathrooms and the neon light wall. 👍

A pleasure as always! We visit La Vita Barrachnie as often as we can, it's our favourite place. Always a lovely meal, staff are so friendly and nothings too much trouble, cocktails are wonderful, just the whole experience is great! They even gave us glasses of prosseco for our anniversary last night which was so lovely. Thank you again guys, see you next time.

It is one of my favorite restaurant. Delicious Italian foods always fresh and high quality products used. I am more than happy that day when it's time to visit LA Vita Barrachnie. Great staff and atmosphere. I can Highly recommend 👌 🥰🥰

Going by other reviews chances are got them on a bad day, served by 5 different people, waited over 20 minutes just to get the bill never mind the rest of it. Lasagna very dry with no sauce at all and so hot from being reheated in the microwave it took 15 minutes before you could put it near your mouth it was molten hot. Rest of the food was OK, but no where near a fresh Italian. Set expectations at cheap family friendly pub quality levels, as for service I normally leave a standard 20-30% tip, today was the first time I have ever decided no tip was necessary. Shame as last few visits were great, especially when it first opened but honestly nothing special now. Alright for a bite to eat but don't ruin a special occasion expecting much from here, if your in the area nip across the road to he east end fox or looking for a good decent Italian there's plenty in the city centre.

Service was amazing as always and the food again amazing as always, the lobster ravioli was just a pleasure to eat !
