Beautiful portion sizing and good pricing considering so

Far too many tables crammed in, didn't enjoy having lunch staring at a wall and getting bumped by staff

Lovely wee place, nice staff, food ok, but very pricy. Still can’t believe nearly £4 for a cappuccino & only 2 mouthfuls. Daylight robbery!!

Sunday morning, brunch, thought this place looked nice. Service was slow and sub-par, that was before it got busy. I got the eggs Royale which was fine, not all that great. Then my lady got the house breakfest speciality which was atrocious. “Spicy heavy cream eggs” The whole thing was waterlogged with milk not cream and the eggs weren’t even cooked, could see translucent bits in them. Utterly hellish. Don’t normally leave reviews, but this was a notable poor experience. Had this dish elsewhere and wasn’t served this way at all. Definitely put off coming back here again for brekky or dinner.

Great place for a breakfast and coffee

lovely food good service and friendly staff the only problem is that in my opinion they have comprimised on the amount of tables set up within the retaurant far too busy and not enough room to sit comfortably and enjoy the experience i know it is a very busy time of year but it is more enjoyable to have your meal and service in a more comfortable setting

First time Visiting and will definitely be back! We ordered the Bruschetta de Parma and Lasagna parcels to start which were delish! I ordered the Arrabbiata and my husband had the lobster oriental pasta both were lovely although mine was better if you like a bit of spice! The Tiramisu is so good! Thanks to the staff as they were all so friendly and couldn't do more for us. Thank you for making our night just what we both needed!

Zero table service when arrived. Staff for miserable. Only option to order two courses from the same menu on tables were ridiculously close together. Such a shame as a venue is beautiful but wouldn’t visit again

We came here for our work Christmas dinner. We were a big party of 10 and the service was flawless. The staff were an absolute delight, so helpful and friendly. The food was also spectacular every dish was devoured. Amazing buzz in the place it was busy but not chaotic. La vita never dissappoint and we will absolutely be back again!

lovely italian restaurant that has been in glasgow for 160 years, what a milestone, la dolce vita..... i was confused by the camera at the beginning, we were not given any fun frame options and so i think whats the point, i looked good that day! anyway i had a great time with the festive bruschetta but the turkey did not have cranberry sauce and WHAT is a TURKEY without CRANBERRY SAUCE???? i know you have it, it was in my boyfriend's crimbo pasta. i was confused again by being offered black pepper by the time it was dessert time..... maybe i do not understand this tradition... also the shot of sparkling water with my cappucino, it was embarrassing because i told my family it was tequila and it wasnt, it was just water. please use tequila it would make such a fun family festive moment haha. did not like being able to see out the window it was so rainy. apart from this everything was perfect. prego.............

Very rushed with mediocre food, I won’t be back.

The size of place is too small and the food We ordered was penne Arrabbiata, but what they gave us had nothing like penne arrabbiata, I didn't like it.

We walked in for dinner on a Friday evening, and we were seated immediately despite the restaurant being packed with groups. We skipped appetisers and went straight for the main course. I ordered Pollo Toscana which was chicken thighs cooked in butter with a sun dried tomato,spinach and cream sauce served with mashed potatoes and focaccia, my husband decided to get a La Vita pizza -both dishes were remarkable. We also split a Tiramisu for dessert, it was decadent and light at the same time. Would recommend if you fancy some Italian food while in Glasgow, La Vita’s menu is quite extensive and we are sure to be back to check out more of their dishes when we are back in town!

Excellent service and the food was great with a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Staff were extremely rude asked for a table of 2 was told there was a hour wait after 2 people had arrived just before us plenty of empty tables

Been a minute since we've been here as we no longer stay in the city centre, but it's every but as good as I remember, food was a 10, would recommend to others and definitely not leave it as long before returning

Looks brilliant from the outside. sadly that's all I can say positively about this place. Bang average food staff were incredibly unatentive. Wasn't that busy when we went in and was just a really poor experience

The most delicious food and excellent staff made the experience fantastic. Couldn’t recommend enough. And perfect for people visiting Glasgow as it is near many train stations and is in the city centre. 11/10

La Vita never disappoints. We make a point of visiting every time we are in Glasgow...which is a lot. This time I booked a table and let the staff know it was my friends birthday. They went above and beyond to help celebrate the day with us! Can't thank the staff enough! Everything is always 10/10, I would say the best value for money of any restaurant in Glasgow xx

Staff where just really rude. It was minus 2 degrees and we had 3 children who where really cold and hungry. So they where a little bit restless. We stood in a small narrow door way for 10 mins before anyone even said hello. The door host was on the phone an all the other staff just stood there staring at us. We where rushed to order It was like the staff just thought get this family out ASAP Shame really as the food was OK. Slightly over priced for the service we had We wanted desserts but due to how uncomfortable the staff made us feel we just left Wasn't even shown a bill just got told a price an a card machine pretty much threw at me

This is the second time I have visited La Vita. Sadly the service echoed both visits. We booked a two hour time slot for our meal, we arrived on time and like others we were told that the last customer had paid and were waiting for them to leave. We waited in the doorway for 30 minutes to be served. With being privy to a conversation the waiter had with his manager about an error made about tables and how the cost of a bottle of wine given to them as an apology would come out of this tips. The meal itself was nice and at the time of service the waitress was very nice. We opted not to have dessert and paid the bill. We still had our drinks to finish and were told whilst the waitress was STILL holding the card machine from our payment that they needed the table back!!!! We still had 30 minutes of our allocated time and had to wait 30 minutes for our table. We had been there 1 hour. This was a similar story the previous visit. Suddenly a nice meal is tainted by the sheer guest experience of “we have your money, now sling your hook”. Very poor and definitely won’t be back.

Amazing food friendly staff although they could be a bit more attentive when you’re leaving! A bit cramped,and they need to move the water glasses from the third floor window sill the waiter kept squeezing past me to get them even when I was eating my dinner very annoying!!

We met friends for dinner at La Vita, George Square and couldn't fault it. We took the precaution of booking a table as it is always busy. It was ready when we arrived and we were shown straight to it. The service was very good - attentive but not overly so - and the staff were all friendly. The food was very tasty and the portions generous. I had the Polpette Formaggio followed by penne Quattro Stagioni and can recommend both.

Arrived for an early dinner, and it was amazing! The service was great and the food was delicious. We ordered the Casarecce Salsiccia Picante and Casarecce Funghi. Despite the early menu, the portions were generous, and I have lunch for tomorrow! Don't forget to order the house wine!

Amazing food and excellent service!! Me and my boy had thevpizzas they where fab, my partner had the pasta and it was beautiful!! Cannot wait to go back again.

My wife and I joined with our granddaughter for her 18th birthday at this wonderful restaurant, we had an excellent evening tonight, friendly welcome and directed up two flights of stairs by the waitress to our table, excellent customer service and great food, a member of staff approached our table with a cocktail and sparkler to wish our granddaughter a happy 18th birthday and the waiter got everyone's attention at the other tables to say it was Jody's 18th birthday and to all sing along and wish her a happy birthday, it was a lovely evening and we would highly recommend La Vita restaurant and definitely return again, a memorable experience not to forget.

A lovely friendly restaurant...delicious food..great menu..the cakes display meets you at the door..but the size of the helpings you would be so full you cant eat a cake..take home ofcourse.

Great restuarant whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Set across 3 floors, this place is worthy of six stars! Professional waiting staff at the top of their game, amazing food and served in double quick time. As you walk in, the aromas, the dessert display and the sound of Italian in the kitchen sets the scene perfectly. Prices are on par with chain restaurants, but this restaurant is next level. You might have to wait for a table on busy nights but it's worth it.

And another place in the city centre I won't set foot in. I have been to his restaurant about half times without any problem, then suddenly it was a problem. Some restaurant staff, have ideas above their station? They think they are better than others.

Service was great but the breakfast wasn't amazing for the price we paid. Can definitely get better in the area for much less.

Popped in for breakfast. Good selection of dishes. Went for the Scoobie Snack (Ciabatta Roll, 2 Lorne Sausage, 2 Bacon, 2 Potato Scones, Black Pudding, & a Fried Egg). And the staff were very tolerant of my attempt to speak Italian.

Another great dining experience at La Vita. Our server Georgia was very polite and very pleasant. Food was great as always.

Called in for a quick drink , catching up with friends before they caught their train. Although it was.bearly dinner.time, they found us a small table so we could sit out of the rain for 30 mins. Food looked lovely but we only had drinks

Reasonably good Italian right in the city centre. Food was good, service just a little sketchy but by a new employee, so can cut some slack for that, and pricing was reasonable for the quality.

Midweek and the place is jumping, great service and atmosphere, choice of set meal which is fantastic, loved 😍 there rissotto

This is a great place to grab a meal in town. Reasonably priced huge variety and the atmosphere was fantastic. Highly recommend it

My partners food was fine, but my pizza was wet to be fair the waiter agreed and replaced it but this to was wet and burnt not good.

We were on our way to catch a bus to the airport and in need of some breakfast. We were very fortunate to get a table in this charming restaurant and the lovely staff kindly offered to look after our bags whilst we dined. I recommend the eggs hebridean. Clearly a very talented chef here. What a fantastic place. Thank you all so much.

top class Great value for money

After venturing into Glasgow for the day, decided to try this place after looking at many others, ordered a Main dish for the wife, and a starter/Main for myself.....was then told by a young server (we don't allow sharing....if that's what you were planning to do) What a lousy thing to say, sorry but if I'm paying for it, then it's up to me what I do. Don't rate it much and won't be back.

Excellent food service and atmosphere.

Food was very good. Went for the set menu for £21.95 for 3 courses which is very good value and alot of options available. Only 1 critic is that after each course food arrives very quick so no time to let the food get down from the previous course.

Three of us each had a different pasta here and we agreed: this food is excellent.

Very bad attitude, will not come again

Food was dispassionately average and expensive. Was given a comically large amount of balsamic vinegar with the ,Italian bread, which was stale supermarket quality. Produce was not fresh. I’d congratulate a twenty year old on the quality of food but for a restaurant like this it was just underwhelming and borderline unpleasant. Phones and buzzers were loud, unpleasant and somewhat constant. The maître d was lovely, efficient, charming, however aside from a couple other servers everyone seemed dead behind the eyes, new to hospitality, and clueless.

I was slightly disappointed with my recent dining experience here. My pizza felt a bit soggy and salty. Perhaps that's the style they were going for, but it wasn't to my taste. We were sat at a table at the far end and found it somewhat cramped and hard to get the attention of waiting staff. I'll give the place another go though, as it is very popular so maybe I was missing something!

During lunch it was very busy, small tables and little space. Staff very friendly and we both ate delicious spaghetti.

This La Vita is in an excellent location right opposite George Square. The restaurant is quite small and the tables are very close together which would be an issue when busy, although when I visited yesterday there were only a handful of diners. Service was fast and efficient and the menu is extensive. I went for the Italian Roast Beef which was excellent. The herbs on the vegetables were divine. Only downfall was the Yorkshire Pudding which was burnt around the edges. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other dishes.

Lunch with family for catch up. Booked a few weeks before. Food was lovely as usual however table given was squashed in between others. Didn’t ask to move as it was very busy. A large table of 16 came in just after us so service was also a bit slow on this occasion which was unfortunate. Will not deter us from visiting again though as we do like this place and the food.

10% service charge is a must for over 6 people!! It’s impossible to split the check! Don’t come!!

Food lovely as usual, but omg far too cramped, could hear everything the table next to us were saying to each other, so obviously made a boring meal as they would been able to hear us. Not the nice chilled meal I was expecting. Totally understand the restaurant want as many covers as possible but surely customer comfort should be a priority.

Visited La Vita for lunch and had the Penne Amatriciana and Italiano Fries (Spicy Bolognese, two cheese and jalapenos). The food was great and we were seated quickly and service was prompt. La Vita is always a safe bet for great Italian food in the city centre.

Just been for lunch. Had the macaroni which was horrible. Virtually no sauce, very dry and tasteless. Complained about it and the waiter didn't even say a word, vert indignant and still good t charged. Won't be back.

I wholeheartedly recommend the excellent Scottish breakfast set. After such a breakfast, I was full until dinner, and it's nice that the set includes coffee, tea and juices.

Great food everything tastes amazing and is fresh, the seating is a bit tight but the atmosphere is great and it’s a nice place. The staff are not very attentive and it will often take a really long time to get their attention. Basic things such as Parmesan on food are not offered like in most restaurants and because of the lack of staff appearances it takes a long time to request. The same applies when requesting the bill.

Very friendly staff with quick service. Food disappointed due to runny lasagne with no texture or structure. I had to request a fresh wine glass as the first smelled of bleach! The second glass was same! Very poor show when we had bought the very nice Chablis on the list- not cheap, but a nice wine. So I took my wine from my water glass !!-which was fine. But that issue needs fixed!

Despite a,busy lunchtime, a table was found for us. Shared a pizza due to having to be on coach ,so not time for a full 12 " pizza each. It was cooked to perfection!!! Lovely friendly staff.Amazing.

Fantastic food and service. Always happy to help. I quite often done alone ( breakfast time) and it's no problem. As a disabled lady, the staff always make an effort to accommodate my needs. Fabulous family atmosphere. I recommended La Vita to some American tourists looking for breakfast and they complimented me and the venue.

Food was of a high standard friendly staff was a gift from kids so no price.

We arrived on a Saturday without booking. They squeezed us in and needed the table back in just over an hour (which was not a problem). We were shown upstairs by one of the younger male services who was polite and welcoming. Upstairs is very packed in and warm. Again due to me and my partner being squeezed in for service I did not mind this but would have been disappointed if we had booked up there. We ordered drinks and food which was not a problem mostly serviced by the younger woman looking after the quite packed area. Drinks arrived no problem and first course arrived no problem. We ordered a sharing course which was tasty and good value. After this point things started to go downhill. We had our table cleared by the older (manager?) asking if we wanted coffees? We then explained that's our starter and we are waiting on our main. We had finished our drinks at this point and had to call another server who did not seem pleased about this request. The younger lady then arrived and took our drinks order. After about 10 minutes our mains arrived. Not quite as good as our starter (we ordered lobster ravioli & a pizza). After finishing this we waited for over 20 minutes and still had not seen our drinks order. We had servers pass and tried to get some attention but they were busy. We eventually got the manager? Who was seating people upstairs and explained that we were waiting on drinks but would just like to pay. He sat the table he was dealing with then came back to confirm we didn't want coffee? Then left and a young male server came up with the bill and we paid. He awkwardly took the bill back from us (normally we would be offered to keep this at our restaurants). We were not offered a receipt either. It was a very strange and disappointing experience. I've been there before years ago and been downstairs and had a much better experience. Some of the staff were the same since my last visit so it may have been a bad day. I shop with my feet so with all the other places in Glasgow will not be back. We were also in and out in an hour and ten minutes as we agreed 😂.

Good staff and upstairs the ceiling is covered in flowers. Very unique and great food.

Been coming here 13 years plus —— special wedding anniversary today and what should have been the highlight ruined the day—- main course was ‘cleared by mistake’ , so we were waiting 45 minutes …..Finally appeared and obvious straight away that one course had been portioned out , left sitting then zapped in the microwave —- impossible to finish as it was too hot: the other email was overcooked . Offered a dessert to take away —— not interested. Curious that we are a white couple of advancing years….. the three African / British girls at a nearby table complained about one of their three drinks (having drunk about 1/2 of it between them ) and the staff fell over backwards to sort that one out ….. sorry, but we won’t be back
