Friendly family atmosphere. Great food, you must ring and book, much better than the high street chains and great value.

What can I say. The service was very good, food was delicious. Everything was hot when served and lovely atmosphere. Looking forward to returning soon.

This place shows exactly why you shouldnt go to the chain restaurants around the corner on the waterfront. The experience is soooo different, and soooo much better. Authentic Italian food, served in a beautiful atmosphere. They seated my wife and I with 30 minutes notice early on a Saturday night. If I can nitpick a little, the staff were a little cold and the beer I chose ("English Ale" it said on the menu turned out to be a 500ml bottle of Black Sheep at GBP5, was not cold, but otherwise the whole experience was delightful. Outstanding food quality, price and portion size. My wife and I have visited Italy many times and this was as close as we have come to that experience in Britain. So happy we went here instead of those dreadful chain Italians on the waterfront, definitely going again.

Great food and fantastic service

Charming trattoria, chose an opportune time as managed to squeeze me in without a reservation. Went with the orecchiette and it reminded me of my time in Puglia. Definitely one to go back to and try a few more dishes.

Food was horrendous. Some of it cold too. Tomato sauce on my ragu was absolutely flavourless. Tasted like it was poured out of the cheapest passata tin straight onto the plate without any seasoning. Meat in the dish wasn't great either. Hard and didn't taste too fresh. None of us were happy with our food. Service was okay-ish. Ultimately wouldn't recommend. This definitely isn't Italian food

The restaurant is a little like sitting in Vincenzo's front room. Given the location, this is understandable, and you shouldn't let it distract you from the quality of the food. We've been here several times, and the food is always really tasty, hot and well presented. We will keep using this restaurant

As the restaurant is fitted in a terrace house it has a somewhat homely feel, the service was great and food delicious, particularly the tomato garlic bread. Prices were about what you'd expect.

The food was excellent but the waitress was not friendly at all. She made us feel uncomfortable, to be honest. It was an intimate setting but because of her attitude spoilt the evening for us.

You feel like you are entering an italians front room, and this is what makes the experience special. They are all very friendly and the food is lovely. If you want an authentic Italian - rather than a chain - then this is the place to go. It is reccomended to book!

Never again....tables are to close together, food terrible, microwave fish,calzone was the worst I have had. Service to table was a non starter.

A good little restaurant. The food looked and tasted very authentic, and the service had the right balance between being attentive but at the same time giving you time to make your choices and enjoy the dishes. I will definitely come back.

Wow! Simply devine. I had bruschetta starter which was amazing and the wild boar ragu also amazing! My partner had the fillet steak and red wine sauce with her starter the prosciutto wrapped around mozzarella! Drinks are a little expensive at £5 for a bottle of lager but food is very reasonably priced. 100% will be back again!

We had a splendid meal, excellent good and wine. Not cheap but worth it, especially for a celebration or special occasion.

Lovely family run business. One of the best Italian meals I’ve had. The wait was a little longer than our booked time due to it being very busy, however the staff were very friendly and apologetic. Will definitely be coming back again!

A very nice little restaurant. We were made to feel very welcome by the owner. The food was excellent. We had two pasta dishes and dessert all very well cooked and tasty.

We had an exceptional traditional Italian meal for lunch. The mains and desserts that we had on the lunch deal were incredible. The staff were very accommodating with our infant which is always appreciated. We'll definitely be returning.

Lovely place, staff and experience. From the outside you could easily walk past, but it's certainly worth going inside. We sat outside on their hidden garden terrace, but inside is great too if you make a booking, we hadn't, but they managed to accommodate us outside. The food was delicious and well presented. Sadly we ate our mains too quickly for a photo, but managed to remember to snap the desserts. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and polite especially the younger more energetic members. The manager knew what he was doing and served us quickly and professionally. A great experience all round.

Having been to this restaurant several times before the pandemic, it was nice to go back last night.I love the quirkiness of the restaurant but I can understand it not being for everyone. The food for me has always been fantastic, I’d go as far as saying the fillet steak is the best I’ve ever had.

The best pasta meal my boyfriend and I have ever tried. The service is always brilliant.

Booked table at 8m ,after we arrived for lunch , we have been told there is no space ,left on hevy rain with two llittle children 2 and 4 .

An absolute gem of a restaurant, hidden away in an unusual location. Mario the chef cooked some first rate enjoyable food. We had the lunch tapas, which was so good we had two extra dishes. Without doubt, we will be returning.

Authentic Italian food and experience - the food was amazing, loved it

Two Italian restaurants opposite each other in the same street. Last week I visited La Bottega Delitalia, today La Trattoria Da Vincenzo. Greeted at the door by a woman who barked at me 'we close at two'. Inside tiny rooms. In the winter maybe would describe as cosy, in the summer dark and gloomy. I decided to sit in the garden out the back. I was directed to a table for two. I ignored the direction, sat at a table for four under the shade of the grapevine. A jug of ice cold water brought to the table. I doubt would have been brought had I not asked. Soup a mistake. Bean and mushroom. Too much for lunch. My mistake. It was not very good. Far better bean or chickpea soup in Athens. Soup could have done with a chunk of bread. Polla alla crema was not good. Served with chips. It would have been better served with local new potatoes. I was tempted by lasagne. I decided on polla alla crema because a similar dish one of my favourite dishes in an Italian restaurant in Aldershot. The dish in Aldershot far better, and served with a side salad. Asked did I wish for a dessert? No. A very long wait for the bill, another long wait to pay. A man came outside, owner or chef or maybe both, sat smoking. Then, 'I don't want to be rude, we are closed'. I would have happily left long ago had I not been waiting for the bill and to pay. Not busy. Around half a dozen people sat outside. The staff were not friendly. Service and food poor. Quite a large choice for lunch, even larger for evening, this is never a good sign. Impressive vine in the back garden, laden with grapes, wine grapes not dessert grapes. Lunch closes at two. Even for Lincoln, this is ridiculous.

Great meal last night. Attentive and speedy service (and the restaurant was bustling at 5.30pm), very tasty menu items (especially the wild boar ragu pasta, and pistachio tart), which, along with the house wines, were reasonably priced. We'd certainly come back again.

Have been here a number of times now and love it.

Came here recently with friends and had the best time. The food was so so delicious. The service was incredible and they were friendly, making us feel so welcome as if we were visiting a family friend. They have an adorable courtyard where you can dine out and it is so cozy. I’m definitely bringing everyone I know here. The pistachio tart is a MUST!

Lovely food with rolling menu specials, affordably priced and easily fully booked based on experience. Good recommendation for mains from staff and I preferred that she spared me from the unnecessary chit-chat. I already assumed they don't accept walk-in customers as per previous experience but I just decided to walk in and the restaurant was completely empty so absolutely all to myself for lunch for an hour at least.

Absolutely AMAZING! We came as a family for my boyfriends birthday (it was the first time for him and myself). I couldn’t recommend La Trattoria more - the customer service was 10/10 and the food was sensational - would recommend the tomato garlic bread as a starter - by far the best thing I have ever eaten from any restaurant!!!! Couldn’t recommend more to anyone - perfect for any occasion. I also loved that the chef came out to bring out food and give us information about desert (the chocolate cheesecake is delicious!!!)

Excellent small family ran restaurant. The food is always fresh and the chef is always happy to cook your choice of dish to suit individual preferences. A specials board changes regularly and the service is excellent! The last time I visited I totally lost track of the time, so was rather embarrassed to notice we were the last diners in. The staff, all of them were waiting patiently in the kitchen area. There was no rush and I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, after ten or twelve visits. I look forward to my next date at La Trattoria Da Vincenzo, and so will you.

Very friendly service and nice traditional Italian menu

My family are from Puglia and eating here really minded me of my eating experiences whilst visiting Italy. There were three in our party and we all found every dish to be bursting with flavours . Great staff and I will definitely be back very soon!

Exceptional meal . All the food we had was delicious. Tomato garlic bread is a must . All the sauces in the dishes were so tasty . Will definitely be back . Although it’s quite small inside , there’s a really nice atmosphere. Staff were all really friendly and nothing too much trouble . Can’t wait for our next visit .

A wonderful first time at La Trattoria da Vincenzo. Will not be our last! A very warm welcome, lovely atmosphere. Food absolutely divine. Great selection on the Menu. You receive quality food. We were kindly 'fitted in' so unable to have a pudding. The main courses we (four people) ate were delicious.

Food was lovely, however we were left in no doubt that once the clock hit 9pm we were no longer welcome, obviously this was past the staffs bed time. Its not nice having plates cleared around you, when one of your party is still eating.

Great place, it felt really authentic, good choice of dishes

This restaurant is literally in someone's house. They probably eat breakfast in the morning where we were sat. Ordered the Valentines Day lobster and some kind of sausage starter. Both were nice, lobster was a bit small but can be excused for the price. Very nice Italian!

Genuine Italian food. Simple menu, not too many options, nothing extravagant. Reasonable portion size, sensible price, attentive service, joyful experience. We had Soup of the day, Mushrooms, Orecchiette with meatballs, Stuffed cannelloni, Panzerotti. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you very much and congratulations to the chef. Until we meet again!

This place was such a surprise and delight! It looks unassumingly like a small terraced house but what is inside is authentically wonderful. All our dishes were simple and excellent. The ingredients were all top quality and very fresh. Service was very good and overall it was great value for money. Go here rather than Browns pie shop which is the exact opposite!

A fantastic find. This tiny establishment serves up Italian food that's far better than any of the stuff served up by bigger 'Italian' chains. It appears to be simple food - but don't be fooled by the amount of knowledge, care, and passion that clearly goes into it. It's enough to make us consider moving to Lincoln - but in all likelihood the 170mile round trip will be equally worth doing in the mean time.

Wonderful intimate restaurant, it's set in an old victorian town house so it's like being in somebody's front room. It serves Italian and sea food dishes. I had the crab as starter and half a lobster as main. Absolutely delicious. We'll be back again

What an awesome surprise. Do Not be put off by the fact you think you are walking into a terraced house. The people, the atmosphere were great and the food was some of the best Italian food I have ever had. When I couldn’t get a table after 6.30pm I thought they might want the table back by a certain time, not the case, we had the table for the evening. They staggered the customers to allow the cooking of fresh amazing dishes. Very tasty at a price that you would expect to be double. Will be back next time we are in Lincoln.
