Shared a striata romana pizza for lunch and it was delicious, hot and filled with fresh ingredients. Beautiful served and we both said it was amazing. Definitely a lovely place to visit for a coffee or lunch while in town.

Owner was bad tempered , rude to staff and swore whilst we were waiting for breakfast , not a great impression. Breakfast which when arrived was not worth the £14 by any means , beans were tepid, bacon over cooked and dry , muffins were so hard on the base couldn't cut it , I'm afraid will not be visiting again. It used to be a lovley breakfast but standards have dropped , like owners attitude .🙄

I have stopped by for a welcome glass of Merlot and sampled various meals both light and main. Although service was slow - it did not spoil the wonderful experience being able to sit and relax with good food and wine. I too believe in supporting independents - there should be more sole traders. The staff always smile and make me feel welcome - knowing we could all go somewhere else in town, this to me is an important factor of my visit - thanks to all at La Rusta x

Before- Sitting here waiting for a bacon and egg roll. Better be damn good as they charged me 5.10 for it. I'm also the first and only person in here today, yet its taking forever. After- Okay its pretty good. Bacon could be a little crisper and eggs should be runny in my opinion, but pretty nice. Still not sure if it's worth 5.10 though.

I have been to this place a couple of times. Once before covid and then within the last couple of days. When we walked in on this occasion, there were loads of empty tables but they all had cups and plates etc on them. We were therefore asked to sit by the open door where it was pretty cold. Only one of the staff was wearing a mask and that was under her nose. We were given our coffee in paper cups as they said they had been busy. But then proceeded to walk past all the tables with things on without picking anything up. The food that came was great although I had the bruschetta and it had about 3 tiny pieces of goats cheese on where as before it had a huge bit of goats cheese on.Also the sugar and stirrers are all on an outside table which means everyone puts their hands into the same bowls to pick these up. It could be a really great place as there aren't many individual little cafes in Crawley, it just needs a little bit of working on.

Dirty tables, had to ask twice for them to wipe a table down for us after we had ordered (and no it wasn't busy). Ordered and waited 20 minutes for a couple of coffees to arrive whilst owner stands and chats to people. The £7 bacon baguette arrived as a bacon sandwich, but we didn't have the patience to wait for them to remake. Felt sorry for the blonde waitress seeming to have to carry the place and take the flack for everyone else's mistakes. For £13.70 for sandwich and 2 coffees, we will stick to the brand coffee shops from now on if this is what independent cafes are like.

Yesterday we did a big mistake, as we decided to sit in to La Rusta. We just started visiting the place couple month ago regularly. I noticed earlier as well, that the owner likes to talk to others in a weird manner and keep on saying “F*ck or f*cking”. I was quite shocked, cause this is not what you’re expecting in a coffee shop, or at least I don’t wanna hear it! Especially not from the owner. Also, he’s bringing his couple year old into the restaurant,....for what?! It was very disturbing sitting at the table - waiting for the worst coffee in my life - and listening how the kid is shouting there. This man is very uncivilised, doesn’t know how to behaving, terrible....... In Hungary, when you go out of the capital, to those very small and very pool villages, there are exactly this kind of people like him. I don’t want to be any more specific about the origin of these people. But! At least these people are not running a restaurant business. Obviously yesterday was the last time we went there. Just one positive thing at the end. ☝There is a natural blond young barista lady, she always gave us a very nice Mocha! So 5 stars for her and MINUS20 to the owner.

As coffee lovers, we have drank a looot of coffees and a looot of cafes, and lately we just haven’t been able to find any that could beat the one they have here. So good it doesn’t need sugar, my bf says - well, I personally can’t resist a hazelnut syrup in my flat white but in any case it tastes amazing and we always have plant based milk (which often makes the flat whites taste less smooth but not here). Can’t say anything about food, but we like the interior too, although it could be bigger. Usually the music choices are good, too. I read bad reviews on a manager - I can only say that the waiting staff are amazing. If they have a hard job, they don’t let you see it. There was one unnecessary loud and bossy guy in kitchen but the girls at the front are still nice to customers.

How you treat your staff says everything about you and in this case it says this man is a bully. Had a lunch/brunch here with a friend as we saw they had a vegan menu. I had the pizza, was a good size possibly a little small for the price. It would be fantastic if it was topped with some vegan mozzarella! This would be the cherry on the top! My friend had the breakfast- she was disappointed. Small for price. Could do with more on the plate, baked beans should maybe not be charged extra and would be nice to have some sausages or tempeh. There was also some confusion- my friend asked if it came with bread or toast and the waitress said no, so we ordered a side of toast, but the breakfast came with a slice of nice homemade looking bread, the toast we ordered looked a bit undercooked- not brown enough.

I used to go to La Rusta since few years ago it recently moved to more central location in Crawley town. The food most of the time is fresh and tasty so recommended it to couple of friends. This time I brought my partner there for late brunch, we spend over £35 as decided to go for a light bight and also order mains. My starter of toast and sausage was ok even, I always enjoyed they sauseged my partners calamari dry and tasteless. I ordered a carbonara as I knew they make fresh pasta and was so exited to try it out my partner had a steak, carbonara came in such a big plate but the amount of pasta was so small I but since had a starter I was fine, pasta was all stucked up together, no carbonara sauce at all, I recently made better carbonara at home, this one has loads of oil no sauce, parters steak covered in salad dressing, over cook, so I stood up and went to talk to the “head chef or possibly manager or owner” in their open kitchen, he didn’t let me say anything grabbed my plate and started explaining how carbonara is made, he was very very rude and I felt shocked at that point, was asked “what do you want?”then said well at this point I don’t feel like earning there no more, he then said “what do you want, do you want your money back” got my money for the meal back left hungry and very disappointed, same guy who was rude to me was constantly being rude to his staff, poor girls was constantly being told off seemed like they were scared to do their job as every move wasn’t right. Won’t be wasting my time or money there again. Very disappointing as always liked the place.

When we finally received our meals we were very impressed with the quality however it was a very unpleasant experience as we had to listen to the chef/manager shouting and being incredibly demeaning to the other members of staff im actually disgusted by the way he was speaking to them as they looked like they wanted to cry so no wonder the service was poor as they probably have lacked sufficient training and confidence having to work with someone like this. Furthermore, almost £3 for a Diet Coke is a ridiculous price to be paying!

We popped in for lunch whilst shopping as it looked really appealing....sadly the food and service did not meet our expectations. Service was slow, for both drinks and food, but I cannot criticise the waiting staff too much as they were constantly being harangued and sworn at by the chef/owner in the open kitchen behind the service counter....completely unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour. The quality of the food was poor, although presented nicely, and we did not receive the side of fries we ordered, even after reminding the staff. Crab and avocado salad tasted unpleasant (tinned crabmeat?) and the steak on the Steak Frites, which was described as a 5oz Sirloin, was thin, grey and tasteless.

Desayuno impecable. Los benedictine riquísimos y el té negro con leche o "pot of tea" dio para repetir varias veces. Me gustó su aroma y sabor delicado.

Ghastly food and even ghastlier service from the manager. I have never had croque monsieur like this before. Burnt but soggy thin toast with cheese grilled on top and scraps of ham placed on it, not like any I have had before, not even any bechamel sauce. It was simply charcoal toast from a toaster with chewy cheese on top. It was actually a bad bit of cheese on toast. The goats cheese and avocado bruschetta was almost non existent in goats cheese (about three pieces each less than a 1p piece) and matching with the avocado except only two pieces. When we brought this up with the manager, he told my husband that the goats cheese had melted into the bruschetta, I was not aware goats cheese could disappear into bruschetta? The majority (about 95 %) was tomato and cucumber cubes. The fries came 10 minutes before the other food as they had actually forgotten the other food.

That was my second visit...and nothing improved. The first one was straight after opening and the service was really poor and the food just about..so today I give another go thinking that they start focusing more on the service and customers, but apparently I was even more disappointed! The 2 waiters wasn't sure what they are doing and serving! I ordered the coctail which been served not by menu with missing ingredients..with an explanation "we don't have that" without telling us when I placed the order and the food let's say was okay.

We visited here for a late breakfast, food was really nice, tasted really fresh and service was really good, we was served by a gentleman but I didn’t get his name. But overall we were really satisfied and will be going back. We’ve finally found a nice breakfast cafe. Thank you

We were wanting a spot of lunch in Crawley and came across this lovely place. Why would anyone pay over £6 for a salad in a cardboard box at Pret when just a few meters down the road they could have a freshly prepared salad, bruschetta or pizza for not much more? La Rusta was clean, efficient and excellent value for some very good food. My bruschetta was delicious, with loads of fresh tomatoes, cucumber, spring onions and black olives on lovely sour dough bread. Their cocktails looked lovely and good value. I'll definitely go back when I'm next in Crawley.

I went with my cousins to the queen square branch on Saturday the 26th May. The service was awful it wasn’t even busy and the staff really couldn’t cope. I waited 15 mins for my ice latte which was sitting on the counter. We ordered our food and had to wait for 45 mins. They failed to put one of our orders through and didn’t inform us of this. We then had to get a refund for one of the ordered. Such a shame as it did look like a nice place to eat but I had the worst experience ever! Definitely never going there again.

I was looking for a place to hold regular weekly meetings so thought we'd try this place. First impressions were good, however it was an initial first impression only. Service was slow and non existent, the 4 people serving 2 tables were too busy doing their nails and chatting. Food was OK at best, I had eggs Benedict, hardly any sauce and one half of the muffin was burnt black! No one checked to ensure everything was OK. Ordered 2nd round of drinks, couldn't serve them on table as they hadn't cleared plates (approx 25 mins after ordering and finishing breakfast). I think very expensive for what you get, I don't mind paying more if the quality is there, this place didn't have it!

We’ve eaten at the broadway branch a few times and the service has been good and the food has been great. Tried the new queens square branch just after opening and the service was ridiculously slow for a weekday. Took approx 20 mins to get our coffees and about 45 mins for food. We had babies with us who by this time were bored senseless. Thought it may just be teething problems so tried again a month later with my husband and kids and unfortunately the service was just as slow. 20 mins for drinks and an hour for food. When the food came it was disappointing, rushed and not worth the expensive pricing. Think I’ll just go to pret next time!

My husband and I thought we we would try out this new coffee shop. We ordered 2 cups of coffee and was told that they will bring our coffees to us. We sat at a table and waited for approximately 20 minutes after seeing other people that came in after us getting served their food and coffees. My husband eventually went up and asked for a refund. We were given our my back with no apology at all from the cashier. We are certainly not use this service and we certainly won't be returning or recommending it to anyone. We are now in BB's in county mall, were I am sitting with my coffee, which took 3 minutes to get it.

We waited for about half an hour after placing our order, whilst other tables got their orders. Our drinks were nowhere to be seen. We saw our food sitting on the side of the counter getting cold for 5 minutes before we got them...seems like they forgot about our drinks order.

Having read the most recent reviews I was slightly concerned about visiting the newly opened La Rusta in Queens Square,Crawley. However, happy to report - finger nails of the staff, spotlessly clean. Tables, very clean. Staff, really courteous and friendly. Coffee and meal, our order...

I usually go to la rusta for breakfast or brunch and never had an issue at the old brunch , people working there always happy to help . We decided to try the new brunch for a coffee and our impressions were not as great . We ordered our coffees and after a while they came . instead of a macchiato a cappuccino arrived and something looking like an Irish coffee . We asked the waitress if this is our order twice and she said yes . I thought she made a mistake for my macchiato , I said "oh well " and continued drinking . After 2 minutes another waitress came with an aggressive tone to ask why we are drinking someone else's coffees . We explained that the other girl told us it's our so we thought she was confused with the coffees . She started accusing us that is not right what we are doing implying that we have to pay for all 4 coffees . Apparently the couple next to us had the same confusion with their food .. we appreciate that people do mistakes but the way she talks to customers is not right and I hope management takes that into consideration

Wanted to try a brunch here, however it didn't get that far as I sat down & no one served me or asked me if I wanted to look at the menu! Maybe they thought I was a ghost or spirit. Waitress walked past couple times & nothing. Place wasn't even full. Table wasn't clean either. After a good 8 minutes I walked out & no notice was taken either.

Was really excited to see a brunchy kinda place open in Crawley but have so far been left disappointed. Went after the gym with my friend and order the dijoinaise chicken cereals baguette . Took a day and a half to make and the chicken was dry and just smothered in this stuff which did not taste like dijoinaise- more like radioactive mayo. The bread was lovely and warm though. Poorly presented and generally disappointing with little flavour or quality to it, cheap chicken. Service was slow and unfriendly. I reckon this place could do great with a bit of work on the service and quality of ingredients but so far is not worth what you pay.

Like other reviewers I was really excited to try a new brunch place which seemed to be nicer than your average café. Its a café. On arrival it seemed the lady on the till did not want to be there..at all! The reviews praised the quality of food so the 40 minute wait seemed justifiable, until it arrived. Both breakfasts ordered claimed to come with a hollandaise sauce (when it arrived it was warm but felt like it had been left under a heat lamp) there was a lack of sauce and explanation to where it was, "we don't have any" the waiter said and walked off, i'd have hoped that this could have been communicated before hand. We asked for something to replace the hollandaise and while waiting someone from the kitchen just handed us one, no apologies or explanation. The website is quite misleading and portrays La Rusta as something it's just not and for £8.30 per breakfast it's over priced. Won't return or recommend. Don't bother!

Use the Heathy for lunch regularly with friends. However this time the food was overpriced for what it was. The steak was fatty and as a result they took it iff the bill. Only people in the place so no atmosphere. Staff was friendly and attentive. Also i drink soda water which is usually no charge. This time however i was charged £2.50 for a soda water and lime. Unfortunately will not be going as regularly in the future

Each time we stay at Premier Inn at Gatwick's North Terminal, we have dinner in-house at Thyme Restaurant as it is far more convenient than going elsewhere or suffering the limited, bad-valued terminal food. This time we booked out dinner slot as soon as we checked-in. for 5pm. From experience, if you simply show up you can expect to be accommodated in the restaurant after 9pm as they are always crazy busy. We had a meal deal. We hadn't realised that kids eat free breakfast so it's better to just pay the menu price for kids' food. Our extras with drinks totaled another £30 but that was okay. The meal deal is something to seriously consider as £30 per person for a dinner may not be worth it if you don't ordinarily order 2 courses. We don't usually have an appetiser so it turned out to be not good value for us as our mainstay is usually a fish n' chips. The food was fine. But what stood out to us was the service. Mandalin, our server, was on-point and provided exceptional, attentive service! Thanks to him, our meal went from okay to amazing!

The BEST takeaway in Crawley. For years, I've always been a bit of a food snob and would never eat from burgers vans until I went for the first time on Monday. I had the best bacon sandwich with hashbrown I've ever eaten in my life. It was so good that I've eaten 3 sandwiches in the past 48 hours. Really can not fault it! Also, my friend always orders the chicken burger and says its one of her favourites in Crawley.

Had an excellent experience at the Coaching Halt today. Went with a friend who has allergies. We were looked after by Laila and she could not have been more friendly and helpful, particularly re the allergies. Additionally, Nicole also looked after us and, again, was particularly helpful re my friend’s allergies. Food was good, the restaurant is comfortable and welcoming and the staff are brilliant. Thank you Laila and Nicole.
