They need more bartenders for a busy night. Waited 30min for cocktails...

Went down there for a miles sanko night Pete the manager Was very polite and his normal chatty self. No wonder the place does really well with him as a manager!!!

The service is very friendly, however the tapas are far away from Spanish tapas and of low quality, particularly the tortilla with sweet potatoes, white bean salad, apples and avocado plus fried cauliflower. A chef upgrade is definitely needed.

Was having a ‘day at my own leisure’ in Cambridge and looking for a ‘late liquid lunch’ around 13:30 and found La Raza as I walked down Rose Crescent enroute to a different cafe/bar and I am so glad I stopped here. It has some tables on the (pedestrianised) cobbled street upstairs, but the weather wasn’t great so after seeing that it had a good selection of tapas and drink options I ventured down the stairs to its basement bar-restaurant area that has a kind of modern kasbah feel to it. It’s well lit without being garishly bright; had an eclectic mix of soul, trance and ‘Ibiza chill’ tunes playing, and was plainly (ie in fussy) yet tastefully (ie monochrome with splashes of colours and patterns) decorated and furnished. It was quiet (it was Monday at 13:30, but I was immediately welcomed by a very friendly bar staff (Dom) who showed me to my table of choice. I ordered a very reasonably priced (and large) Malfy grapefruit gin & Prosecco spritz aand a small selection of delicious vegetarian tapas. And if you just want a bar snack with your drink then have the (surprisingly hot, but also sweet and sour at the same time!) guindilla chillis 👍🏻 Totally recommend La Raza and will definitely return for an evening of dinner, drink and chilled vibes

A tapas restaurant in Cambridge. After spending almost two weeks in the UK we were happy to see a restaurant with Spanish food and we tried it. The tapas we tried were not bad at all, obviously they are not like the Spanish ones but we ate very well, far from the typical fish and chips. Garlic prawns, squid, croquettes, even Spanish beer,... The waitress who served us was very attentive and friendly.

Went there for some drinks and live music last night. Had to go back for lunch. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Loved the ambiance. All four drinks ordered were unique and spot on. They also a very generous amount of delicious tapas at good prices. Definitely will come back soon.

The main dish is very delicious, the meat is tender and juicy, and the dipping sauce has a unique flavor. It is recommended to eat out.

Don't go. Poor taste, all frozen and fried. Microwave meal at home is better. Stale bread, awful calamari and Spanish omelette was like bath sponge. When we said that the food was terrible and not quality tapas they said its their own interpretation of Spanish tapas. But the quality of the food was terrible

The food we ordered yesterday came cold and the house salad was awful was just chucked together and I don’t think it’s right that have to told that you have to order two each and even then they don’t tell you when things are not available we waited a while for our food we ordered the calamiri and the mussels and prawns and house salad the staff are not very on the ball with service of things in my eyes the food was cold and when I say cold I mean cold it wasn’t worth the wait we didn’t complain we told the staff when she came around but how long had it been sitting before they arrived it at our table how long we waited for it I don’t recommend this please at all

As we enjoy Tapas we decided to have an evening meal here. We thought that Paella was on the menu, as per their web site, but sadly not. There was a good choice of Tapas, and we had a nice selection which we all enjoyed very much. The staff were moving table around to facilitate those just have drinks, it’s was quite interesting seeing the tables being moved around (very sturdy fold up ones). The staff were attentive and helpful. The venue wasn’t overly big, but it was pleasant. We would return if we were in Cambridge again.

202405 Interesting tapas, though probably not worth a second visit for meal— Probably works better as for cocktail and light bites as the menu is quite limited for a tapas place and lacks a dish that stands out. Interesting fusion salad. The Moroccan spiced beetroot brings North Africa to Eastern Europe, but the flavors seem more contradictory than intended. I was adventurous to have the white bean and avocado and apple and manchego cheese— not bad to be honest and h like the crispy apple bits and nutty cheese, but it’s really two salads combined :3 The Mediterranean grilled veg with pine nuts is the safe bet as always. The mushroom croquette is alright. Warm and crispy with a gooey center, though I would prefer a little texture to the current mushroom flavored paste. Chicken thighs are alright, nothing special. Bread is alright and a little too simple (little white baguette sliced). The dipping is nicely herbed but the oil layer is too thick. Padron pepper is a little too soggy and not crispy enough. I enjoyed the sliced Cecina air dried smoked beef most. Service is friendly and food isn’t too slow.

We went to this tapas bar for lunch and enjoyed sitting outside on an attractive pedestrianised side street. All the dishes were good, we particularly enjoyed the air dried beef. The service was very efficient and the staff very friendly.

It's amazing however has anyone seen my emotional support tarantula. She escaped my pocket in the venue.

Great little downstairs bar with upstairs outside tables if you like the outdoors. Good tapas-y selection, great cocktails, and often have good local bands too

Amazing cocktails, friendly staff and great live music!

The ambience is surreal and beautiful. The bar looks amazing. The menu is a bit confusing as it wasn't clear which was the mains, we were surprised thinking it was really cheap. But we didn't realize that it wasn't the mains (it was neither sides nor platter). The menu could be more informative. Although the portion was small, the food tasted amazing. The waitress was nice and friendly. We had marinated beef skewers with spicy sofrito dipping sauce, chicken strips with lemon, thyme and moscatel sauce and olive oil crackers with manchego cheese.

Long wait times (20 minutes) - very unfriendly doorstander!

A proper cocktail bar/restaurant. Lots of high quality cocktails to choose from! And a happy hour too.

We made sure that we visited on a sunny rain free day so that we could sit outside on the street. A pleasant experience on Rose Crescent under an umbrella watching the world go by. Not so attractive inside in the basement. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. Tapas were of a reasonable size and tasty. We liked the fig cheese dish in particular. There is a service charge of 10% which we were happy to pay. One is encouraged to leave a further tip, we didn't. Sadly the waiting staff probably do not get any of the charge. If I come again, I will ask for the service charge to be removed, and leave a tip in cash. Important to carry cash just for this reason

This is a fantastic place to stop and eat at. We just happened to find it. So glad we did the food, It is amazing

Family lunch, no booking. This restaurant has tables on a pretty street and also downstairs/inside where we were greeted by polite and friendly staff. However service was a bit on the slow side. The menu choices are adequate and the food was nice and well presented - although perhaps the flavours in the spicier dishes were slightly overwhelmed by heat. We did not choose a Paella but this looked very good. Music in the venue was a bit loud, toilets definitely need attention. Venue gave us the impression of being a bit "tired". Stopped for tapas whilst shopping in Cambridge. Outdoor seating is lovely, food was good and the service was fine. However due to this place being quite a lively night scene the toilets need some work!

We had our lazy afternoon there. We ate in their outside table. The food was great! There wasn't much traffic, but we waited for around 20 minutes before ordering. However, there was no tax, nor tips in the bill. No complaint!!!

We absolutely loved our lunch here. The fresh figs, baked with goats cheese, balsamic and honey was amazing. The padron peppers were delicious and the salad with crispy serrano ham, blue cheese, tomato & red onion was perfect. We enjoyed a nice jug of sangria and exceptional service.

Terrible service. Cold food and uncooked meat. When server was told nothing was done about it. Dirty toilets didnt inspire confidence either! Both my husband and I now feel unwell

Booked La Raza a couple of weeks ago for a cocktail making class for a friends Hen Do - and it was simply excellent. Great drinks, our server Billie was absolutely awesome, the service and quality was great too. Could not recommend this place enough - truly!

Lovely Spanish restaurant in a quiet(ish) back street near the market place. We sat outside (the tables have umbrellas, but luckily it was dry anyway), but there's atmospheric seating indoors too We shatef the paella - it was amazing

Visited La Raza for a cocktail making class for a friends Hen Do - and can not recommend them enough. We had an amazing cocktail maestro, called Billy who was absolutely amazing and taught us so much about what we were making. We were also served lovely snacks and a welcome drink, which was such a wonderful touch. Thank you to Billy and La Raza for an amazing class! Can not recommend them enough.

First time I've been there even though lived in Cambridge in a while and was surprised I didn't hear of it before. You can either dine outside or inside. On a thursday, if you go inside, there's live music after 9pm (jazzy-kinda music) - although I think they stop serving food then and becomes a cocktail bar. Friendly staff, surprisingly not high prices for tapas (unlike nearby tapas places). The best one was the chicken with lemon in the 'meats tapas' section. Cocktails were also good (they have 2 for 1 cocktails most days of the week. The Pims was great and had plenty fresh fruit in it (and costs less than nearby pubs where they don't bother adding fruit).

Amazing food at a good cost! Tiramisu the best we’ve ever had, and you have to try the seafood soup (it’s huge - such good value!)

Visited for the first time whilst looking for pre-drinks. Had an amazing cocktail served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. It just so happened that the time we arrived it had just clocked over into Happy Hour so the drinks were even better!

If you want a ready prepared meal heated up on the micro this is not the place for you. Wide selection of menu to choose from. Freshly prepared and excellently cooked food. Staff and service great. We actually were so pleased we booked and reserved a table for the following day. Atmosphere was alike to being on the Continent. We were fortunate to have gorgeous weather sitting outside under a parasol in the English heat. Plenty of seating inside. Very popular place to eat in the City of Cambridge. Last but not least the price of the meals were considerably low

Very slow service. It took 1.5 hours to get the food and it wasn't even very good, just okay. Waiters were nice, but barely there.

We booked out the whole place for my wife’s 60th birthday, and it was superb. Cocktails and tapas, from 7-10:30 when it became open to the public. Food was delicious and plentiful, service was excellent. Definitely recommended for a big group meal. Better value and more fun than using a Cambridge college function room.

Managed to sneak in about 8.15 with our Love Cambridge voucher. We had the most fantastic tapas. Huge portions, great service, lovely atmosphere. Great place.

Popped in for a quick snack and a cocktail with my friends, we ordered a dish each to have with the cocktails, and share. The food was amazing, really tasty. The cocktails I would not get again, the were ok but seemed very low alcohol content(I get drunk just smelling alcohol and rarely drink - these didn't touch me) Also, DO NOT touch the espresso Martini .... It was disgusting and SO bitter. However, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and lovely service - very obliging

The Tapas were amazing, & are recommended. However, we have been back again to try the paella & was rather disappointed as it was bland. Can certainly recommend though.

Have visited twice in the past 7 days(second visit was as a result of finding Loch Fyne in Cambridge has been closed some time) On first visit had tapas, portions quite big and very tasty. Depending on you appetite perhaps three between two people plus a couple of sides. Olives and almonds were great. Paella was pleasant but liked oomph. I tend to like gutsy flavours! Wine list fine, and although not shown on wine list have a good range of Sherry styles. Will definitely go again

This is an absolutely awesome place to come for a event with colleagues. We have been a few times now and have been so grateful every time. It is good value, the food is incredible and if they have live music it is even better! Make sure you head down - you wont regret it!

We just celebrated our second Christmas Party at La Raza. The cocktail making classes went down very well with everyone. As always staff were lovely and very welcoming. Food was excellent and great value for money. We will definitely be going back.

Tasty tapas and delicious cocktails that were way more interesting/unique than the usual tired old usuals. Plus, the staff were nice enough to fit us in despite the fact that the kitchen had just closed.

Positives- the waiting staff were helpful and friendly. Negatives - the food was terrible, the beef skewers were chewy, the salads didn’t have proper dressing, most of the food came out barely warm. The restaurant smells like toilet, everything is sticky and worn out.

Two of us went for a quick lunch and we were really happy with the service and the food. Everything we ordered was really tasty and well presented. The only thing letting it down was the ladies toilets. They were noticeably shabby and unpleasant though and really need some paint and tidying up.

Had lunch here today. The waitress was nice, but the food was very disappointing. The spicy patatas bravas were disgusting and left an odd unpleasant aftertaste which I can still taste 2 hrs on. Maybe bread was meant to be dry, but I doubt it, so the bread was stale. Beef skewers were OK but fatty beef, calamari nice, chorizo nice. Drinks were nice too - beer served in a nice ice-cold glass. Food came out very quickly so obviously just reheated. So many other nice places to eat too, we really regretted our decision. Won't be back. *EDIT* The toilets also weren't very nice. For a place that is decorated nicely on the inside you would expect nicer toilets. They felt a bit scummy and the hallway leading to them smelt weird and was dirty.

Nice variety of tapas. We had the roasted garlic avioli patatas - wow these were amazing I would definitely recommend them, they were so creamy and tasty. The baked figs with goat cheese were an interesting combination but not my favourite dish. The salted and fried marcona almonds were absolutely amazing. Lastly the mixed paella was nice but the portion size is huge for 2 people, i would definitely recommend for a group of 4.
