La petite Brasserie Cheltenham in Cheltenham

Amazing food and great service, would highly recommend!

I regret to say that this was the worst brasserie I have ever been to. While the waiter was polite and the atmosphere pleasant, the food was simply not tasty and excessively greasy (smelling of cheap oil). They try to make it look sophisticated but overcomplicate the meals instead of focusing on the essence: making food taste good.

Enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal. Every dish was perfectly balanced. Understated for such a high quality meal.

Fantastic food. However overall experience let down by slow service and slightly down-market feel.

Excellent, we had tasting menu six courses. Amazing food and service. However Must say they are slightly rushed each course to us. Not given enough time to enjoy the food. Very friendly service staff

We had an excellent dinner pre-theatre this evening. We arrived at 5.30pm and had brilliant and very helpful service before enjoying a lovely 2 course meal. Each course (plus the gratis amuse bouche) was cooked to perfection and delicious. We asked for a couple of slight changes to the accompaniments to each meal and this was no trouble at all to the staff or chef. We found the restaurant by chance but will definitely be returning.

Our expectations were quite high for this place because the reviews are very positive and my friend came here a long time ago and loved it, so she decided to come back with me for dinner. The prices are good but unfortunately both service and food were not great, the parmesan chip in my starter was very soggy and difficult to cut and eat, my friend’s seabass was undercooked and my chocolate fondant was not even close to melting in the middle which is kind of the main point… A part from this we had to ask for our water glasses to be refilled 3/4 times, obviously it is a nice touch to refill them for a customer without leaving the jug on the table, but not if you keep forgetting or don’t pay attention to when a glass is empty. We also found it very odd that nobody apologised when my friend said that the fish was not cooked properly and asked for it to be checked, they got it to the kitchen and nobody told us anything until after a bit of time they brought a new one back. Then to finish it off we paid part of the bill in cash and they just decided to keep the change without us mentioning it, they just never brought it back to the table, but at that point we were so disappointed, and to be honest also embarrassed, that we just left. I would rather go somewhere else and pay more for better food and service, so I am sorry but I would not recommend this place.

Food here was excellent. My friend and I had starter, main and dessert and we couldn’t fault anything. Nice variety of dishes to choose from. Also, good value for money. I can highly recommend and I’ll definitely be going back

Had a lovely meal at La Petite Brasserie, the menu is extensive with lovely seasonal produce. The hardest part was deciding what to choose! We had cheese souffle and pigeon to start. Both were excellent, the pigeon was perfectly cooked. For mains we had pork belly and the trio of lamb. So much flavour. I'll definitely be back!

Our first visit and we will be back! This is a lovely small restaurant, with nice staff and great food. All 4 of us really enjoyed our food, and the posh snacks were really tasty.

I ate here with a friend, the food was wonderful and such good value for the quality. It was the best fillet steak I have had in a long while. The staff were friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back to try the wine pairing menu.

Fantastic food probably the best have had in a very long time. Went with friends and everyone had a great meal. There were loads of things could have chosen. Please don’t be put off by the location as this is definitely a gem of a restaurant will definitely go again

My partner and I popped in early evening. This restaurant is a gem. Food cooked to perfection. Service is very pleasant, a little on the slow side, but that's how we like it. Some complementary items were included adding to the experience. A relaxed and casual atmosphere. We really enjoyed eating here and will do so again.

This place has got to be Cheltenham’s best kept secret! Fabulous food, spot on service and the only reason I’ve marked it down for atmosphere was because, having a late lunch on Saturday, incredibly we were the only customers!

Yet again a wonderful meal made by Chef Ram. The Venison is my favourite which is always made to perfection. Ram unfortunately forgot the balloon I had asked for, but made up for it by making my wife a fantastic pudding in record time. We would highly recommend the venue.

Food was delicious with relaxed pace. Stone bass and accompaniments particularly recommended. We also recommend the fried okra as well as the burrata starter. All of us agree we’d recommend/return.

Our third visit here. First since the refurbished. Food was excellent and well presented. Service was good and efficient. Enjoyed a chat with the chef and learned about his plans for the future. Will return again..

Great restaurant with amazing food, welcoming atmosphere and good service.

I recently visited La Petite Brasserie after their refurbishment, and it was fantastic! The new decor is elegant and inviting. I started with the crab, which was fresh and flavorful, and followed it with the venison for the main course, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The staff was attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend visiting this Cheltenham gem!

I have been there and was very good,so I left 5 star review,sadly I had to change it I have made a reservation 2 weeks in the row now for my partner and my son birthday,both been cancelled by the restaurant night before So disappointing! We won't visit you again

I recently had the unfortunate experience of making a reservation at La Petit Brasserie, and I must say that I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the way my reservation was handled. My friends and I had planned a special birthday dinner at the restaurant, but our excitement quickly turned into frustration when we received an unexplained email cancellation. A few hours before our reservation, we received an email from La Petit Brasserie stating that our reservation had been canceled. No reason was provided, leaving us confused and disappointed. We had been looking forward to celebrating a birthday milestone at the restaurant and had made plans accordingly. The sudden cancellation without any explanation left us scrambling to find an alternative venue at the last minute. What made matters worse was the lack of communication and the absence of an apology from restaurant. I must say that this experience has left a negative impression on me. The unexplained email cancellation and the subsequent disruption to our birthday plans have tarnished my perception of La Petit Brasserie. I hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their reservation management system to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. In conclusion, based on my recent experience, I cannot recommend La Petit Brasserie. The unexplained email reservation cancellation and the subsequent disappointment it caused during what should have been a special birthday dinner have left me with a negative impression of the restaurant. I hope that the management addresses these issues and works towards improving their communication and customer service in the future.

Dreadful - I went here for my 40th ..food was cold, chewy and nothing I would ever want to experience again. I'm now many years older but I have never forgotten

Birthday lunch for mother's 80th made really special, a wonderful experience. Food was excellent and the service was attentive without being obtrusive. Little extra touches much appreciated.

Food probably deserves better. As soon as we walked in we had a friendly welcome, but this was the best service we were to receive. No control of dining room at all. Constantly having to chase up basic things like water, drinks, ordering food! Arrived at 8pm and didn't see any food until 915pm when we were on the verge of walking out. Atmosphere very strange in the restaurant, chairs/decor just all wrong for the kind of food their serving. Lacked any authenticity. Really sorry to leave a bad review as nice people but honestly we wouldn't return.

Lovely food and great service, negated by a huge wait between courses. Atmosphere wasn't great for a Saturday night but it looked as though everyone had waited a long time for food. If there hadn't had been such a long wait then it would have been a 5.

What a super restaurant. The staff were attentive, but not overpowering. The food was fine dining, with unexpected extras. Altogether a first class experience and highly recommended.

The food when it arrived was tasty, especially the lamb which was cooked to perfection with delicious potato dauphinoise. However the experience was negated significantly by the long wait for each course and lack of attentiveness from the wait staff. There is a lot of potential but I could see other tables were similarly frustrated/complaining by the long wait and lack of communication by wait staff. It made for an awkward atmosphere. It’s usual the waiters would ask how each course is going, top up water regularly but everything needed to be asked for and perhaps they are understaffed or inexperienced. The food was great but the overall experience left us disappointed.

Food - top, but you'll wait 30-40 minutes between courses! The lamb was outstanding, but the starter I ordered was pate on toast to which they then brought us pate on toast as a bread plate. The service was annoyingly poor, no one offered to refill our water throughout, no second drink was offered, the waiter popped the lamb down and only half way through did we realise he hadn't asked whose was the medium vs medium-rare, and it must have been about 30-40 minutes between each course was served. Another customer I heard say his starter was bland, the same guy later walked out saying "ridiculous" for all to hear. The table next to us was very loud, no etiquette.

Literally the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. We’d booked in advance. When we arrived they literally ignored us. For 20mins. When we complained they got very aggressive. We walked out and as we closed the door behind us we could hear a member of staff literally screaming at us. Unbelievable

This was a chance booking for the evening - the restaurant new to us all. The service was exceptionally friendly. The food was exceptionally good. Already we have booked our return trip. Best meal in Cheltenham for many years.

The food and service were exceptional. We were greeted with an array of complimentary amouse boche which were all very tasty. Our starters and mains were delicious, they tasted and looked amazing. We had the duck and venison. At the end of the meal we were treated to a complimentary mango sorbet and granita, and petit fours. The service staff were so attentive and accommodating. If I return to Cheltenham I will definitely be coming back! Thank you for a lovely meal

Really excellent restaurant. The food deserves a much better decor but clearly the chef knows how to cook. The steak was super good. Lamb cutlets too. Nice amuse bouche. The Tarte Tatin was well executed. Definitely worth a try. On top of that the meal is halal (ask the chef as it depends from where they source the meat) which was a big plus for us.

Excellent. Quiet when we came but the staff were very welcoming and served us some of the best food we've had. The Tamarind amuse bouche was delicious. I had the venison and my partner had the lamb and both were cooked perfectly and clearly exceptional quality meat. We were offered a number of complimentary items which were all very tasty and really made the meal feel special. I really hope the guys do well and are there next time we are in Cheltenham. Outstanding.

Honestly the best dining experience I have had in Cheltenham in the 10 years I have lived here. The waiters in this restaurant are very accommodating and welcoming providing great service throughout the meal. Every bite of food we had as a group was perfect, we could not fault a single dish throughout the meal. Anyone looking for a top quality meal at a reasonable price should come here. We will be back!

I booked this restaurant for 4 friends and family. Staff couldn’t do more to make the dining experience pleasurable. Food was outstanding. Service impeccable. Not a restaurant to go to if you are in a hurry but definitely up there with the best in Cheltenham and at a fraction of the price of others . This is NOT a restaurant to miss!

Excellent food and service and very well priced. We loved it. This was a last minute lazy lunch for us and we were not disappointed. The service wasn't rushed but that was because the food was clearly freshly prepared. The staff were excellent in advising (and being flexible) on timings and helping with the fact we had a young (18m) child who was very hungry! Will def return and looking forward to a relaxed evening meal. Will def recommend.

Sorry guys but we had an awful experience. 45 minutes wait for a gin and tonic and after 2.5 hours we hadn’t had our main course. You have a long way to go to get it right.

Our friends invited us down from Birmingham to have a meal at a new establishment in Cheltenham that had rave reviews .......I read the reviews but our expectations turned to a massive disappointment.....asking for a simple gin and tonic that took 45 mins to make.....a starter that took an hour to arrive....and the main course that after 2 hours and 30 mins had still not come to the the table ...we left......sorry...but won't be returning....

Embarrassing evening. We invited friends after having seen rave reviews for this new restaurant. What a disappointment. Staff kept promising our order would be coming soon. After 2.5 hours we gave up and left. Don’t think we will be back.

Absolutely the best venison ever. Coked to perfection. Definitely not a cheap cut. I am a cheltenham girl of 60 years. This would take some beating. Well done and thank you. Service amazing. Presentation puts others to shame. Prices worth every penny.
