Great BBQ and drinks selection, live music was good too

Just had a wonderful afternoon in the Hewlett Arm, had the sharing platter for two, absolutely excellent extremely tasty strongly recommend.

The family used it for a wake. Everything was perfect.

They stopped doing food at 5.30 pm on a Saturday, so I can't really rate that side of things. We saw others eating, and it looked good. It has a lovely beer garden and plenty of benches. The kids enjoyed themselves.

New manger who understands customers and wants to bring the pub to better and higher standards. Ed is a great host 👍🏻

Nice place to have a drink. Unfortunately the food was served up to 2p.m.so we couldn't have something to eat. But we enjoyed our beers in the heated huts in the garden. I recommend the pub.

Had 2 sets of the £12 deal of a burger with an alcoholic beverage. The classic beef and chicken burgers are alright. Skin on chips are excellent. Good selection of drinks. Beer garden and indoor environment are absolutely brilliant. Staffs are friendly too. We really had a good chilled time there.

No food served when we got there, but were given an option to get food ordered in from another source.

Pub itself is excellent for inside and outside dining and drinks with large garden space and ample seating. They were setting up tables for a party later in the evening. Open for daytime drinks on Tuesdays and Fridays during the week and very cheerful staff on arrival around 1:30pm. Dogs allowed inside and out. Three real ales on tap. Pleasant quality music typical of Cheltenham. Didn"t see the menu, however the inside decore and tables and seating of excellent standard. The only drawback I coukd see was a small car park for eight small cars and one large car. Roads nearby were residential with driveways and limited parking. Local knowledge will help for other parking options. Made to feel very welcome by barstaff and locals and would happily pop in for a refresher after visiting the cemetary

Lovely place for a pint and a burger with friends.

Absolutely superb Sunday roast. One of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time (don't tell my Mother), beautiful beef, perfectly sliced and packed full of beefy flavour. Plus it’s not a carvery, so you’re not being served overcooked, dried out piles of vegetables, and even came with an extra jug of gravy - perfect. Service was excellent (as always) and we didn’t have to wait long for our food.

Wonderful atmosphere, family place.

Big garden outside with lots of tables. There are about 5 outdide cubicles, each one with a heater which give off a lot of heat so you don't freeze. Nice touch. Inside the pub is warm and welcoming, plenty of sit down areas, some high tables with bar stool. Food was reasonably priced and cooked to order, we had burgers and chips and it was all good. OK selection of drinks covering beers, largers and ciders. Dogs welcome

Very nice place to end a Cleeve Hill hike, great mulled cider. Shame they stop serving food after 3pm on Saturday.

We love this pub. Nice and cozy inside and the staff are welcoming. Garden is a gem with heated booths in the winter and a sun trap in the summer. Have had pizza at the pop up which was lovely. Love the idea of pop up food vans so looking forward to going back soon.

My sister and I ate here this evening. It was 'burger night', and so we both had a beefburger with various extras which came with a drink included. The food was excellent, unbelievably good, and served hot and within a short time of ordering. All the staff were friendly, attentive and nothing seemed too much trouble. Rosie, who served us at our table, was particularly impressive and helped make our evening so pleasant and relaxing. The desserts we had were also first class, and it was lovely to have unusual and bespoke choices, rather than the usual Brownies or sticky toffee pudding!! I would have no hesitation in recommending this place. The price of the food and drink was very reasonable compared with many places, but the quality and value for money far exceeded expectations.

Absolutely fab, doesn't matter if just for a drunk or a meal, it's just great.

Lovely beer garden, lovely decor. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Beers are well served and priced about right. Food is OK! Buffalo chicken burger had quite a low bun to meat ratio. It would have been nice if the chicken peice was a while breast considering the price (£13.50). Blue cheese sause wasn't bery cheesy. Was very tasty, though! Mac and cheese were disappointing, bland, and a little watery. Would benefit from a little seasoning and some breadcrumbs on top. Other members of the party ordered the fries and they were epic, this would be the choice if you are wondering. Patatas bravas were also disappointing. For a drink, excellent choice.

Probably one of my favourite pubs in Cheltenham. Lovely outdoor seating area and a decent selection of beers on draft! Friendly staff and a good amount of free parking. Nothing not to like.

Food service very very slow. Not very busy on a Saturday early afternoon. They did not tell us it would be a long wait. We ordered a cheese ciabatta, bowl of chips and salad. Half an hour later it arrived. Not acceptable service for a very basic food order.

Really great pub. They have outdoor pods with heaters in and one of the best beer gardens in Cheltenham. Inside the decor looks new, cosy and tasteful. The staff are always friendly and are quick to respond. The beer on tap is a nice variety, ranging from the standard to a few ales and up to neck oil. Food was fast and a decent quality. For £13 I had a good sized portion chicken burger, the chicken was fried and perfectly cooked. The other burgers around the table (beef) were also well enjoyed. I like that you get a choice of 3 sides to go with your burger; I went with the mac and cheese which was indulgently cheesey. But they also offer chips and potatas bravas. Overall one of my favourite and best maintained pubs in Cheltenham.

Great place. We had a ciabatta and a vegan burger for lunch, cheap and very tasty. The chap in the bar really helpful. Definitely, I am happy to have this place as my "neighbourhood pub".

A classy pub with sharp country-modern decor. The renovations that have been made over the last few years are quality. Premium alcohol offers and a relaxed vibe.

Good food, good drinks.. excellent atmosphere, and affordable price! Only the kitchen closes a little early, at 22:00 (10pm).

2nd time at the Hewlett, a pretty well-kept secret that doesn't seem too bothered about even being visible from the main road. They've so far been twice willing to fit in 4-5 people on a Sunday at short notice, which is good but certainly doesn't mean it's been passed over for better places. The food is attractively-presented and well-proportioned, the bar well-stocked. The volume of the music may be a little over-intrusive but the happy experience had us sibging along with it by the end.

Great place to meet friends for a sociable drink or food, it is really cool pub that serves a good variety of ales and lager, cider and Guinness. The food we had was superb and filling. Add this to your list of places to go. You won't regret it.

I had dinner here with a friend and I have to say the food was absolutely divine, as were the cocktails. Between us we had the chunky salt and pepper squid, the warm focaccia with olive oil and tapenade, the mezze board with cured meats and cheese and the parmesan fries. Drinks wise we had the Christmas pudding martinis and the warmed spiced cider. Food was plentiful and perfectly cooked. The squid was heaven! Service was fab, the girls were friendly and attentive without being invasive and overall the place just has a warm, comfy and cosy vibe. Totally loved it! Well done Hewlett team!

A little gem of a place. With some sheltered seating in the garden as well as the regular pub bench, the garden is suitable for both wet and dry weather. For fans of cask ale there is an almost daily change of what is on offer to stop you getting bored. We have eaten Sunday lunch here a couple of times and have not been let down once. The food is served quickly and is delicious. The staff are friendly and the landlord is very welcoming and happy to discuss beer with my husband every time we visit!

Most people drinking in the garden. Had to pay for each drink or food course as you ordered it. Food ok but not outstanding. Waited for 30 minutes to order pudding but not enough staff so we gave up.
