The Ivy Montpellier Brasserie Cheltenham in Cheltenham

Typically excellent Ivy food and service. We had the bombe dessert which was theatrical, impressive and delicious. Beautiful building. Not masses of space (table of 5).

We had an amazing meal. The service was fantastic we were served Freya and she was really attentive, sweet and a credit to the restaurant. I was watching the team and they all worked together like clockwork. It was our wedding anniversary and had a lovely anniversary plate. Will be recommending and looking to return soon!

Cheap pub grub food nothing special. Worst in montpellier by far

If they would answer the phone instead of having a recorded message or useless Bot and FAQ’s that don’t exist I’d be able to speak to some about my reservation !

The Ivy is a British local fine dining brand with British classic decor. Last night we tried the Autumn menu and the price was ok but it was a pity that the restaurant have spent energy on garnishing salad and deserts but neglected the most important MAIN COURSES. The steaks didn’t taste and look like from a fine dinning restaurant. And when we ordered the steak, the lady didn’t even asked us how would we like our steaks to be cooked to Medium rare or Medium or medium well which made it feel like order taking in a fast food restaurant. So in the end what we got for 3 steaks were 2 portion of medium cooked and 1 portion of well done cooked which were very unprofessional. We didn’t raise up the issue in restaurant cos we didn’t want to break our happy moments. But the steaks texture level and cooking level didn’t match with the fine dinning restaurants. The main service were good especially the receptionists were very nice and welcoming.

Lovely beautiful restaurant with amazing food. The tables need to be further apart though, very packed in.

Quiet rainy early Tuesday evening, so atmosphere was quieter. Also an early supper, pre chelt lit festival. Food and wine, great as always. Such a beautiful restaurant, always consistent food at The Ivy, regardless of location.

Situated in an old bank building with a beautiful dome, this is a delightful dining experience. All dishes were perfection. I loved my Shepard's pie ! The chocolate bombe dessert is a sweet delight.

I've been to the Manchester ivy but Cheltenham has been even better. Far better

When you have something to celebrate, where do you go? The Ivy of course! And when my two gorgeous friends and I have something to celebrate, there’s no stopping us, we definitely go to The Ivy! This place is one of the coolest restaurants in town and let’s be honest, it’s the kind of place where you feel elegant enough to wear sequins. Over the years some of the team has changed, which is as inevitable as my love for cake, and a HUGE credit to Keith and his team for maintaining the excellent standards that keep us coming back for more :) We were lucky enough to have Luke looking after us, he was super professional and attentive, and also brave enough to handle three loud women in the mood to celebrate! And then there was Francesco, who was so patient when it came time for a photo… Let’s just say he would have been perfect for a family portrait. A special shout out to Bogdan, who genuinely cares about creating a wonderful experience for all his guests. 👌The food was delicious, the atmosphere perfect with just the right amount of elegance, everything to make you feel like a star. So, thank you, Team Ivy, for making our celebration unforgettable! We also greatly appreciate your hospitality. We had a wonderful, wonderful time and I can safely say that if you want to celebrate something big or small, this is the place to go!

Unfortunately we have been placed at a very drafty table, although we have asked for a booth. The explanation was that these are reserved. But during our whole stay no one was placed at any of them. Additionally, we had to wait very long for our breakfast.

Service similar to any other restaurants, high tea, expected better for price, cucumber sandwiches soggy, scones not risen, other cakes really good, did not expect 15% on top. Must try harder

Slightly disappointed, our first and possibly last visit here after hearing nothing but good things. Food was good but never worth the amount we spent. Atmosphere was weird and not all that. Service was very good 👌 Shame 😞

I have been many many times back to the ivy for drinks or meals, certainly a great improvement since my very first visit. Clean, happy place, great service, food and drinks.Food excellent a delight to dine, great decor, service, but personally l would re-train or sack the day manager, so many little things need addressing...water marks on the glasses, cutlery needs polishing, it's slipping but thankfully Aug, ' 19 the food is still good. A little heavy on the salt with food, ask for less use on the dishes. Ate again but many times since first visit, today, 2/11/21....steak tartar really good but on a personal touch, reduce the salt, leaves, the favours were great, the creme buellee was the best l had...excellent....great service, clean toilets too wonderful. Improved the size of the shepherds pie fantastic.. And another regular visit ...same great service.

This was our first visit here for a celebration lunch. There is a varied menu which includes options for gluten free, vegan and vegetarian. Our food was delicious complemented by the beautiful decor. Once upon a time this was a bank, there is a central circular bar and the domed ceiling is stunning.

Good food. Stopped by for some breakfast. Although the service was, strange, so to speak, with a lot more snobbishness than expected from an average British breakfast joint. The ambiance was nice, but the actual food was comparable to ANY British breakfast place you could find in the country. Prices were OK.

Stunning. Took a friend for lunch, great atmosphere, busy and bustling, food was exceptional and the £19.17 menu is excellent. Great range of drinks, team knowledge, not much more you could want for a nice treat out for lunch or supper. Been several times and never disappoints :)

Excellent food and service. High quality steaks cooked to perfection. Drinks being overpriced is the only downside but still worthy of 5 stars.

Had high expectations going in. Interior is beautiful. Four of us had the fixed price menu. The chicken gnocchi was dry and overcooked; sauce was non-descriptive. My husband said the shepherd pie was tasty. All of us wanted the crab salad but it was unavailable. Entrees do not come with sides so need to buy as extra. In the end the fixed price is not much of a saving. Also, there is a surcharge for the steak as part of fixed price item. Very thin, beaten steak wasn't all that special, either. Servers (Hannah and another lady) were great, they did a fantastic job. Would I go back? Absolutely not, not good value for the money.

Stunning setting in an old Rotunda. Food was full of flavour and generous in portion size. Service was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Welcoming and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Superb afternoon tea for a birthday celebration. Food was of an excellent quality, plentiful (we took some home in a box) and the service was first class. Combine this with the lovely decor and architecture and it’s perfect. Thanks.

Had a lovely birthday lunch at the Ivy with my partner. The service was amazing, the staff were very attentive but not in your face, and very friendly. The food was sublime. We are from the 1917 menu, which gave 2 courses for £19.17 and it was well worth that. The place is beautiful inside, with quirks, and they allowed me to sit and sketch which was very much appreciated.

We booked an afternoon tea at the Ivy following our marriage at the registry office in Cheltenham. The Ivy excelled in every way. The service was impeccable, the quality, variety and the presentation of the food was absolutely perfect…..one of the best afternoon teas I have had and all the guests loved every minute! The atmosphere and surroundings of the Ivy are beautiful… we will absolutely be back again. The Staff gave us a congratulations card and also a “ congratulations “ profiterole” to share which was a really lovely touch. Well done to The Ivy for making our day extra special.

Very nice high end place with good quality food and service with a smile the decor on the inside is lovely to see with nice interior design and lovely centerpieces bar. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed with a flow of people in and out the restaurant. Such a lovely environment to spend time in with family and friends will be going again some time soon.

Upmarket dining experience. Waiter could of upsold a little as my dish came with no veg which had I known I would of ordered. Day menu is fair at just under £20 for 2 courses.

£35 for a steak with no sides. And I had to send it back because it was badly cooked. When they brought it back they had just cooked it a little more, but it was bad quality. The mash side was tiny and almost cold. Absurdly expensive for a very underwhelming meal. Service was good and friendly. But the food is terrible.

Overpriced food and drink. We ordered calamari as a starter - there were 4 pieces fish in the dish. The ordered the burger as a safe bet for the main and it was tasteless. A glass of whispering angel at 17£ was the highlight !

Had the twenty quid lunch menu - two courses. Amazing. The monkfish curry was to die for. I'm going back next week for sure! Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I always get concerned when great restaurants spin off other branches, but they have retained their integrity.

A friend and I recently went to The Ivy for breakfast! We both chose the full English breakfast! I must say I was disappointed with the streaky bacon - by its nature very fatty! Not something I would choose to eat - though in fairness it did say streaky bacon in the breakfast description! The baked beans were served in a small saucepan like pot - they were only just warm! We each had toast but only one pat of butter between us. When the bill arrived, we decided to split the cost and add a gratuity - we paid £60 for 2 breakfasts and 4 coffees in total! I later checked the bill only to then spot a service charge had been included! We paid a tip on top of this because we had not realised or been told a service charge had already been added! I think this is unacceptable - had we been made aware we would have asked for this charge to be removed, as is our right! In these times when restaurants are stuggling to keep trade and eating out is a treat for most, I felt that we were actually ‘robbed’! Finally, on using the rest room, there were no hand towels!! A minimum requirement and the restaurant wasn’t even busy! This was truly not a high end experience and not something we will repeat anytime soon!!!

I had the pleasure of dining at the Ivy today with my daughter & granddaughter after being gifted a voucher from my nephew for my 70th birthday this year, to say we were impressed is a understatement obviously being Fathers day they were busy but from the moment we walked in the staff and service was impeccable, I had roast beef which was the best Ive ever tasted, apology we didn't get any member of staffs names but we would have been hard pressed to pick a winner because they all knew exactly what to do and made us feel so welcome, Thank-you to everyone involved for such a wonderful experience you all made my birthday very special and our family day so memorable.......

Wonderful service, very quick and the featured cocktails were lovely. We dined in the bar area, and the decoration was beautiful! I wish the portion sizes were slightly bigger.

Please take my review as largely positive, but I'll explain the average rating. The scenery is grand and would be excellent for a special occasion, the service is attentive and the atmosphere is nice, However, we were seated in what I considered an awkward position near the kitchen door, so we continuously had orders and big trays speeding past my head. Being so close to where the staff created their transactions meant we were uncomfortably close and almost felt watched whilst eating (that is just a personal feeling). Normally being asked how everything is would be useful but the 7-8 times whilst eating was not necessary and I didn't want to be rude letting staff know they didn't have to worry about us so much. The food was very tasty ( I had the ivy burger, the chips were amazing), however the general value for money remains in question. I don't believe staff should ask customers for still or sparkling before we've even sat down, at £5 for 700ml I would have asked for tap water and I was driving so a 200ml bottle of coke for £4 (the unit measure was not stated) is again a big value concern. Also the optional tip felt more mandatory, whilst the staff were checking in a lot, it maybe felt that justified the discretionary tip... I'm not sure I would go back to the ivy in terms of value for money but it is a pleasant experience. If you are price conscious, try not to be like me and too afraid to ask before ordering. The staff might think less of you but then again it will show if the tip is really worth paying at the end. I hope that helps.

My sisters and I went for dinner on our final night in Cheltenham as part of our sister's hen weekend and had a fantastic evening. The service and food were excellent. Our server, Christian was really attentive without being intrusive and made sure that we had a great experience. Thanks very much to Ivy Cheltenham team!

The Ivy Montpellier Brasserie is a chic restaurant in the heart of Cheltenham. Upon entering you're brought back to somewhat the golden era of the 20s in what seems to be a converted bank building. The staff is lovely, quick to serve and ready to help. The food (as with other ivy restaurants) is delicious. Definitely recommend to go there when you're in the area!

Amazing time celebrating a big birthday.

I had breakfast at the Ivy yesterday with my husband and friends and in the past have eaten in your restaurants in Bristol and Bath enjoyably so. Breakfast was mostly excellent apart from paying over £3 for one extra grilled tomato and I would have thought that at your level you could provide a decent pot of tea with a good leaf tea and the tea pot was small and I had to ask for extra water and thus with only a lonely tea bag for company further tea was weak. You may not think this matters but for a committed tea drinker it was disappointing. If there is another occasion I will ask for a bigger pot and bring an extra good quality Assam tea bag. Otherwise we loved the colourful jackets on your staff who were all helpful and the Cheltenham decor is exceptional.

Exquisite location and wonderful service. I had high expectations about the food, the pancakes were nothing special tho. Also the cappuccino 5/10. As Italian, I value the food, the location should be an extra.

Food was OK, nothing amazing tbh. £227 for 4 people and a £25 service charge. I won't be back!

Popped in for Breakfast, always good service, great surroundings etc BUT will never eat breakfast here again. Awful, I haven’t eaten a worse breakfast in Cheltenham, and I’ve never paid as much. Cheap sausages, rubbery black pudding, measly overdone mushroom (looked very sorry for itself) and tough bacon. Come on guys, this is the Ivy, not the Greasy Spoon.

Myself and 2 friends had lunch at The Ivy to celebrate a 90th birthday. We had a warm welcome. The service was excellent and the food delicious. It was a wonderful experience and we will definitely return. Thank you so much for making my friends special day great..She was so happy to be treated with care And consideration..

We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary- an all round fine celebration with great food, drinks and service with wonderful staff. Fine intimate atmosphere with very attentive staff. Lola our waitress was brilliant. Thank you for the kind anniversary gift.

Nice enough, however small portions

We ate at the restaurant at 7.30 on the 12/04/2024. Very pleasant staff, and made to feel welcome, the venue is beautiful. It was a treat for my wife's birthday, unfortunately we were disappointed in food we received, due to it not being warm enough, and my wife's Mexican chicken, my wife's chicken seemed to be under cooked, and had grisdle and bone in it. We are people that do not like to complain and make a scene, but thought we needed to mention it. We decided not to have desert, and paid the bill, and made our way home. Kind regards. Clive Powell.

Fabulous venue, superb food and service

Loved our first visit to The Ivy in Cheltenham ,The Cheltenham Races had just finished, so the staff were saying how busy they had been,but still were very upbeat and friendly 😀 loved the decor and the Service was fantastic, the atmosphere was amazing, we were celebrating 🍾 an anniversary and a birthday in the family and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff who attended to us ,will defo be visiting again.

Last time visited 5 years ago and really enjoyed it, visited again yesterday for a breakfast treat and wow it is still an amazing place to dine. Staff are all so welcoming and friendly, the building itself is just so beautiful and the food second to none! I had the eggs benedict and my partner had the buttermilk pancakes, both meals were delicious. I highly recommend it for a nice luxurious treat. 👌👌👌👌👌
