Restaurant with a calm atmosphere, friendly service all topped off with delicious food. Personal favourites are the Veal tagliatelle and lemon torte, but it's a bit like choosing you favourite child when going through the menu. Special mention to the house white.

My wife and I went out at the sour of the moment tonight and took a chance here, they squeezed us in amd we are glad they did. Friendly service with an intimate atmosphere topped off with wonderful food. We are already planning when to go back with more time

My wife and I walked 2 miles in heavy rain for an anniversary meal, but soon forgot the bad weather as the food, wine, and service were superb. We have been here many times, and can say we have always had exceptionally fine meals, Thanks Orlando and staff for another memorable experience.

To be fair,we were warned when we arrived that there was a shortage of staff but we only had one course and we were in there for nearly two hours. My food was much too salty and rather expensive.

I recommend La Pazienza but you got to have the money and patience. Food was some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had, highly recommend the ‘Penne Ai Quattro Formaggi’ but if you’re having it on your own I probably recommend getting some garlic bread as there is always loads of the sauce left. Also, be aware that the prawns come out in their shells, so if you don’t know how to get prawns out of their shells, probably don’t order it. Only downside of the food is that some of the mains come with quite a bit of garnish, that all however. But the service and price was crazy. There were 3 of us on a table, and for a 3 course meal each it was £173! £6.75 for some olives and £7.25 for some cheesy garlic bread (we didn’t order them but they are the prices of some of the side dishes). Most expensive option is, unsurprisingly the fillet steak which costs £29.95 and least expensive is the garlic bread which costs £6.25. Worst thing however was the service; you must have patience to eat here. Took 3 and a half hours for a 3 course meal and the bill to come. When ordering, someone from our table ordered the patate in padella al rosmarino (basically potatoes with Parmesan cheese) and when it arrived, he was nearly at the end of his meal! Moral of this review is that I recommend if you want to eat at La Pazienza, book an early time (6pm-7pm)

We came for family meal here. Restaurant and staff were nice looked like a lovely family run place but unfortunately the food wasn't up to the price or standard. The prawns were overcooked and my scallops were the size of a 2 pence with a bit of water cress that's it! The brouchetta was good so probably you're best bet for a starter! Then the mains, we had fresh pesto pasta but no seasoning. My main was meant to be grandma's special but didn't live up to a legend dish of the family! Chorizo pasta which didnt seem fresh and very Small portions aswell. We has muscles but again very overcooked with no taste! We asked for garlic bread and they forgot but when it came was tiny x2 small ciabatta pieces!? Thought at least a pizza size for all to share and was expensive too! So not really worth the money felt very let down and cost not up to standard.

Fantastic food as always. We come from Milton Keynes to visit this restaurant because we receive a 5 star service everytime.

My husband and I came here for our first wedding anniversary and it was quite honestly one of the BEST meals we've ever had! It felt like we were in Italy for the evening, the food was that authentic! The chef who is also the owner of the restaurant knows what he is doing and the host Raul is one of the nicest man you'll ever meet! If you're ever in Northampton please visit this place!!! This is now one of our favourite local restaurants that we will be coming to until the kick us out! Lol

Just superb. Faultless delicious cooking and a good range of dishes. I have never had lamb so exquisitely cooked. Seasoning is spot on. Service was friendly and attentive. Our whole evening was Italian cuisine at its very finest. By far the best in Northampton.

After many years of wanting to eat at La Pazienza I finally did this evening with my friend. Everyone I have spoken to has told Me this is without a doubt the best and most authentic Italian food in Northampton. I must say it did not disappoint. My pasta was outstanding, fresh and made with such care. I must add that Raoul hospitality, passion for the restaurant, food and also Italy made our visit even more special. If we did not have to rush off to the cinema I would of most certainly ordered a tiramisu. Not that I need an excuse to visit this amazing restaurant again but I most certainly will to try both the tiramisu and risotto.

Food was very tasty. I had the pasta with sausages and my partner had the asparagus risotto. We also had garlic chiabata and sauteed potatoes. Everything was good with friendly service we will definitely be back.

I was visiting friends in Northampton and they recommended this amazing restaurant, La Pazienza. I can very say that im quite fussy when it comes to eating places and I even detest the sticky tables, but here, I was quite impressed with the service, the food, the cleanliness and even with the Italian music. The staff simply treated us like we were their friends, they were very professional and explained the different dishes from the menu so that we can decide upon. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the food was heavenly. I would go back again in a nanosecond and will definitely recommend this amazing restaurant where people eat and feel good. Thank you guys for the hard work!

Food was very good. Service was interesting. Main waitress, very abrupt and sharp especially towards other staff. Our waiter obviously has an issue with females, very rude and had a problem listening and carrying out instructions, but if a male requested something got it instantly

We were a group of 15 and had the best time there! The pasta, antipasti, and the wine were amazing! It's not a huge place, but it's still very spacious!

A really good restaurant but what a great shame they let themselves down with the poor service. We arrived on time, table wasn't ready, one of our starters never came out, service was very slow. Eventually the waiters were apologetic, but the waitress was very rude to our bill payer. They possibly need a little more practice. Seven of us so not cheap in the end.

Italian can be done so badly but this place is NOT one of them. It is superb, ingredients clearly very fresh best scallops I’ve ever tasted, tables kept small and intimate. Superb wine. Portion size just right. I think my Genoan grandmother would have loved it here.

We had our first meal here this week after many recommendations from friends. We were not disappointed. A very welcoming atmosphere was created by the staff. The food is all freshly cooked so it involved a little waiting but as we had lots to talk about it was not a problem.

Have just been here for a meal, admittedly it was a Friday night and we hadn’t booked a table but there were only three of us. They were obviously busy which is a good sign but we had to wait a really long time for our starters to come out which was a bowl of olives (£6.95) and some quite mediocre garlic bread (£6.95). We then had to wait about an hour and a half for our mains to arrive. During this time another couple walked out as they had been waiting for over two hours! What I found most disappointing is that there was no apology, no updates on how long we could expect to wait and no offer of a complimentary drink. We got a bit of an insincere explanation that because everyone had turned up at once the kitchen was really busy. Once the main courses arrived though they were very good and I couldn’t fault them but even when we came to pay the, not insubstantial bill there was no sincere apology or offer of a complimentary drink to appease us. Customer service and communication was most definitely lacking. We didn’t bother with desserts as we had to be a work on Monday. Needless to say we won’t be going back in a hurry. Oh, and despite it listing itself as a pizzeria they don’t do pizzas!

DEPLORABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I like to book a table by phone, rather than Internet. So I phoned only to be told they are to busy to take bookings. Instead could I text, and promised to come back to me. (They didn't come back) Needless to say 2 nights later my wife phoned and got exactly the same answer. In some respects I am glad this happened, because if they are to busy to take bookings. Then the level of service would not be up to an exceptable standard. I have just read a very inaccurate response from the owner. It appears to anyone that leaves a one star rating, he is very rude. I notice had time to read the review, but not the time to take a booking. That aside, the response should have been we will take that into account in future. But no. I can assure anyone that I am happy and will not be booking this place again.

Fabulous restaurant! Have been twice now and both times we had exceptional food and really friendly service. Orlando is a great host and despite being a very busy Saturday night, he really took the time to make us feel welcome. The ambience was great - it just felt a happy and relaxed place to be. The food is freshly prepared and very tasty. The antipasti platter was delicious with lots of taste variety in the accompanying bruschetta. The mains (all four of us had pasta) were so flavoursome. Rounded off with tiramisu and all washed down with an excellent bottle of Gavi for the girls, and Italian beer for the gents. Perfection! Would recommend to all!

Amazing authentic food, superb highly attentive service, and a decent wine list. Will definitely go back to try other dishes. We had prawns, burrata (special), bruschetta to start, chicken breast, Italian sausage pasta, pesto pasta and the salmon for mains, tiramasu and lemon tart (special) for dessert. They were all superb. The Castelli Soave white went well with all dishes. Will be going back to try more of their dishes.

We tried this restaurant because the owner also owns a coffee shop in the town centre which is really lovely. The food in the coffee shop is cooked fresh to order and the staff are friendly. So we did have to wait for our table as it was really busy and the atmosphere is so good and relaxed you don't want to leave. We both had different starters, oh had the special of the day which was mozzarella and parma with fresh salad followed by ravioli in a ragu. I had scallops with a wine sauce and pasta with mushrooms and veal. We just and I mean just had room for desserts which were delicious. The owner came round checking everything was ok and having a chat which is a lovely personal touch. We will definitely be going again and soon.

Enjoyed a meal for two on a Tuesday evening. It was the first time I'd been to the restaurant and I have to say it was exceptional. Service was first class and food was delicious and there was a nice cosy atmosphere to the place Thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!

Being based in Geneva, surrounded by high quality food offerings, including quite a few Michelin starred ones, I’m probably a bit biased and blasé when it comes rating restaurants but the La Pazienza experience was pretty much of an unexpected gem, I must admit. I’ve had some truly dreadful culinary experiences in Northampton but it doesn’t really matter. La Pazienzia delivered some authentic Italian culinary expertise which would have left me equally pleased in Geneva, Lyon, Paris, London or Milan. The Italian meatballs were just subtle and balanced in their texture and blend of flavours. Same applying to the accompanying tomato sauce which was robust and fresh. Tiramisu tends to be a tired sugary cliché but not here. It was just light, creamy and perfect when it came to sweetness. Service was amicable and pleasant. The place itself had a cool, unpretentious atmosphere. Just kudos and thanks for the experience.

I have read decent reviews about this restaurant and so we decided to give it a try for wifey's birthday. We pre-booked a table for a Saturday night and when we arrived there was a choice of 3 tables for two to choose from. We sat down and were handed the drinks menu. The first thing we noticed was the price. Very expensive, so we decided on small glasses of wine each. We ordered a garlic bread as a starter to share, which didn't taste of garlic, only the really cheap tasting cheese. Not pleasant at all. For mains I ordered the Penne con salsiccia affumicata e funghi, which was penne pasta with smoked Italian pork sausage, mushrooms, fresh peppers, onion & garlic in a homemade tomato sauce. My wife had the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, spaghetti with Italian pancetta & rich Italian cream sauce, finished with egg yolk & parmesan. Both were quite tasty, albeit on the very small side. The dessert menu is extremely limited with just three choices, so we had the tiramisu and a lemon cheesecake. Both were quite dry so my wife asked for some cream or ice cream, which was met with extreme confusion by the waitress and eventually she brought out a small jug of cream "that we use for cooking". Overall, the venue is very small, much like the menu choice and portions. It was all extremely expensive, with the bill for two coming to a few pence under £100. I have to say I am not sure why this venue has such great reviews.

These guys haven't a clue how to manage bookings. Book a table, then sent an email the day before to confirm the booking, but when arriving, there was no table, except an empty 4 or a table literally at the door standing!!! Their solution was to sit at one table for a few minutes then keep moving from table to table as it became vacant??? From one italian to these Italians....what on earth are you playing at!!! This is not what a dining experience should be all about!

Fantastic food, much better than your typical Italian menu, with various bespoke and specialist options. Staff are very attentive without being over bearing and have a real passion for service. Chef is keen to please and it’s a quaint buzzy atmosphere. Bill can quickly ramp up when you start to add wine. Great place…. Definitely worth a try !

The music is way too loud, it’s a small place can barely hear the person opposite. The food was mediocre and I found a bone in my food. The servers kept interrupting at least 5 times in a span of an hour, we were waiting for the bill an hour.

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant. The food was so good. One of the best prawn risottos I’ve ever tasted, the mozzarella with the antipasti was delicious and my husband said the sausage pasta he had tasted like real rustic Italian pasta. He loved it! The service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble for the team. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. A real gem in Northampton. We will be returning very soon.

Four of us visited this restaurant on Saturday evening. It was absolutely beautiful. If you like freshly cooked, authentic Italian food then this is the place for you! So confused why this place is rated so highly? Food is bland, pasta didn’t taste fresh & all over-priced. The chef/owner came up and asked us at the end how it all was and asked if we’d come back again. I can’t lie so I said “no”. Fair play he was open to the feedback conversation, but it felt more like him justifying. He did own up to not putting a lot of cheese in a 4 cheese pasta dish - probably because Gorgonzola is expensive and cutting costs? Instead of fixing the bill there and then, he said “when you come back next time you’ll get free drinks”. How about you fix it now, if you’re going to offer? Food itself: 1/ 4 cheese penne - didn’t taste of cheese at all, more like a bland creamy sauce. 2/ seafood spaghetti - tomato sauce barely had any flavour. The chefs excuse was the sauce is meant to be simple. OK, but then it should be done perfectly? 3/ side dish of potatoes - super oily and again barely any seasoning 4/ garlic bread - no taste of garlic insight and no idea what cheese was used on it. 5/ veal tagliatelle - this was actually nice, probably because the veal helped release some salt & flavouring. Had to ask for salt & pepper, but that couldn’t save it. Service: unwelcoming/unfriendly waitresses. We realised we weren’t even told the specials after we paid the bill. Total for 4 people: £114, only had soft drinks. Very overpriced for what you get. We went and had dessert elsewhere 👌 — In their defence, they did ask if everything was ok during the meal. However, everything was so mediocre (except the veal) we’d have had to ask them to re-do it all if it came down to that conversation.

What can I say, soooo happy to have a place like this in Northampton. It has an authentic feel, not pretentious just quality food, cooked fresh. Nice menu, not too big. We had the special for started (Burrata Salad) which was incredible, typical Italian in that it was simple but beautifully executed and delightfully fresh. Both our mains were delicious and the wine list is excellent too. Not the cheapest place to go, but you get what you pay for. If you want a mountain of sloppy cheese there are other restaurants that deliver that. I think some people think small restaurants can simply afford to dish out cheap food, running a restaurant is tough, and the owner is doing a great job despite being hit with some rogue reviews on here (there is room enough for more than one Italian restaurant in town!) Overall we will definitely be back!

We dined here on Tuesday evening with 2 colleagues from Germany. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by the owner. We decided to share 2 portions of mixed bruschetta as a starter, which was very tasty. For main course, we chose the ravioli special, Granny’s smoked sausage pasta and the pesto pasta with chicken. All were beautifully cooked and delicious. We managed to find a small space for desert, and chose the lemon tart and tiramisu, again all delicious. It’s great to find a small family run restaurant, in Northampton, with great food and service, long may it continue.

What a fabulous place! My mum has been raving about this place forever and finally we went, well I was transported back to Italy! Stunning dishes, and would recommend this place to everybody. We had the special main and dessert,and both of them were stunning, well balanced and authentic. We can't wait to return!

We booked this restaurant based on great reviews and were hoping for great things. We had relatives visiting from Wales and were a party of eight, hoping for something a little special. Unfortunately, it was 'fine' at best. I had read that this restaurant delivered fantastic, authentic Italian food and a great experience...it wasn't that,sadly. The food was nice, but not exceptional and took a very long time to arrive (surprising, given the amount of covers and limited menu). The pizzas are not available, as their pizza oven is broken (really?!) and there were other items on the menu online that they no longer do. Also, they didn't have any Tiramisu available (we were the first people seated on a Saturday night and they didn't have any) which, given that there are only 4 dessert options is, frankly, bonkers. There are also no options for children, only smaller plates from main meals. The waitress that served us was not what you would call warm and friendly, but the chef patron was very nice and welcoming. One of our party ordered the scallop starter, which was nice, but cold...one waitress tried to make excuses for this, but on us saying that there should be no reason for cold food, went speak to the chef, who immediately apologised and it was taken off the bill. As, I mentioned, the food was nice, but not exceptional and a little overpriced. I really wanted to love it, but sadly, we were underwhelmed and left without ordering dessert (we bought desserts on the way home). What a shame...we won't be returning, I'm afraid.

Food was ok but for £17 for a pasta i would like to have as much parmezan as i want ,however the waitress came over and sprinkled a little on my dish. Also my wanted pizza or ribs which was on the menu online but it turned out this italian restaurant doesnt serve pizzas..
