We went to Marco Pierre Whites for lunch and it was very very disappointing, undercooked steak and a solid texture, pretty tasteless fishcake. The following day I went, with a friend, to La Nouba and the food was excellent!! The open sandwich of tuna, smoked salmon, prawns and anchovies was excellent. The standard of food is first class and extremely reasonably priced (unlike Marco's ) Anna the owner is very friendly and welcoming and the chef provides home cooked food at it's best. This wasn't my first visit. I've thoroughly enjoyed all the meals and the experience and I can't recommend highly enough

Found this place purely by accident as we had taken a wrong turn, I’m so glad we did. We had breakfast here. One big breakfast and one veggie breakfast, the portions are huge, the taste is amazing. The veggie sausages were the best sausages I have ever tasted. We will definitely be returning. Thank you 😊

Today had an excellent Bacon/sweetcorn/potato chowder which was absloutely delicious. At £3.70 for a 200ml (small portion) takeaway it was also excellent value. Its good to discover local places like this which are continuing to offer service during the Firebreak lockdown and must be finding it difficult to survive. Please support this type of business when normal life resumes.

Called into La Nouba on a busy Thursday lunchtime. We ordered the homemade tomato soup, a bacon and Brie panini and a pot of tea and Americano coffee. The food was freshly prepared and tasty - I struggled to finish the panini as it was so amply packed with back bacon rashers and a lot of cheese! The coffee was so good that I ordered a second! Great value!

Visited today decided to try this place because they had a patio garden which was a lovely sun trap. Ordered 2 baguettes and wedges with tea not quite 5 star but nice. The side salad was lovely. The two ladies working were happy and very helpful with my order. They ensured that we were comfortable and that we were happy. Nothing was too much trouble. Will defiantly visit again and try the home made chilli but maybe in a cooler day!

I raved about this place in my last review but since then it appears to have changed. Firstly, I cant remember the chairs being so uncomfortable that they had 'scatter' cushions for you to use if you needed to. Having had back surgery, they made it even worse for me, so did without them in the most uncomfortable chair ever. Now, to the main part of the review. The lovely cakes that I had raved about had disappeared to be replaced by a sorry looking load of bog standard cake. The poor girl who served us was nervous as it was her first day, we ordered pecan pie which came with cream, we asked if its pouring or thick, she had to ask, it was pouring so we asked if we could have ice cream instead, she had to ask. Anyway, we finally ordered our cake and coffee. When she brought the coffee, she spilled half of mine in the saucer and then asked if I wanted a different saucer....duh! she took the offending saucer and the spoon brought a saucer back, no extra serviette to wipe the bottom of the cup and NO SPOON! We were then served the cake and ice cream, which to be fair, was nice, until, halfway through I saw a hair on my friends plate, (she was not wearing her glasses). We knew instantly that it was not either of ours, I have shoulder length hair and her hair was in a bun! We called the poor young lady over and pointed it out, she asked if my friend wanted to change it...duh! Of course she did, she brought another and thankfully my friend shared it with me! The coffee was (flat white) was nice but after that catalogue of events I wont be going back. They do offer a range of snacks/lunches and people did seem to be enjoying them.

Popped in during work. Had a filling bowl of beautiful home made carrot and coriander with lovely soft bread. Would recommend.

Visited today for quick lunch. I had some delicious homemade mackerel pate and Mum enjoyed the fish cakes and crispy potato wedges. Both were beautifully presented, with a lovely side salad and dressing. There were a large number of tempting cakes which we will have to go back and try. This lovely cafe deserves every success.

Im lucky enough to live close by to this lovely little cafe, ive been tens of times now and can never believe the quality of the food on offer (plus the sizable portions!) at such excellent price. Dont miss out on the food this place offers, its a hidden secret! The decor is definately lacking if you compare it to some other coffee shops, however this doesnt bother me in the slightest, the lady is running a small business and its evident that she puts her all into providing excellent homemade cooking and baking to her customers on a daily basis. Its never quiet in there from my experience and the atmosphere is what you make of it with the company youre with.

Nothing against the staff however the owners need to think about updating this coffee shop as its decor is poor and there is no atmosphere!

This place has the most amazing Paninis and sandwiches. We love the bacon and brie panini that is absolutely jammed packed. The mustard dressing on the side salad is incredible and the wedges are a must.

Lovely little coffee shop. Some really special items on the menu. Sadly, many coffee shops these days appear to only provide paninis at lunchtime. La Nouba does do paninis and baguettes but it also has some unusual items on the menu. Their vegetarian Glamorgan sausages are to die for. Excellent service. Spotless.

Went here for a pre birthday coffee and cake! Looked nice and clean and plenty of choice for the cakes (not sure about other things) and coffee. I had coffee meringue and a flat white, my friend had bakewell tart and a cappuccino. Absolutely gorgeous! Will def be going there again. The only drawback is that its right on a very busy junction and there is not much parking around the area.

If you want good food served with a smile then you can't go wrong at La Nouba. Kids are more than welcome and all the food can be made child friendly for even the fussiest little people...

I regularly go to La Nouba with a group of Deaf friends. The staff there are welcoming and very aware of the communication needs of deaf customers and will do anything to make their visit a good experience. The food is excellent, all homemade, well cooked, tasty and very moresih. Having said that after a main course I have rarely had enough room for one of their delicious looking puddings. The owner Anna, as well as preparing the foods will always find time to pop back and fore and have a friendly chat. You are never rushed, or encouraged to leave. You can pop in for just a coffee/tea or have breakfast or lunch, the full Welsh breakfast well worth a mention. Will continue to go back again and again!

I visited this cafe with my son and mother. Waitress service, which is always a plus. We ordered fishcakes with wedges and salad and 2 baguettes - one with prawn mayo and the other with brie and grapes. The service was quick and friendly and the food delicious. Unfortunately, our visit was spoilt by the loud background music and the door being opened by a member of staff and left open in gale force wind and lashing rain. She then disappeared, all the other diners looked frozen so I closed the door! Despite this I would return and recommend.

Have been taking an elderly friend here for breakfast once a week for quite a few months now and she loves it. Anna and her staff are friendly and welcoming and the food and coffee is pretty good too! It is a small cafe where the food is freshly cooked, lovely soups and cakes but the breakfasts are superb!

Went in last week for the first time. Menu although small provided a good cross section of food. All the food was cooked in the kitchen and fresh. I had the soup chicken and pearl barley. It was so filling I could not eat for the rat of the day. My husband had quiche of the day which he said was deliciIous. Will definitely go again.

Beautiful setting, very cosy and the cocktail was very nice indeed. it was rather expensive compared to the cocktails in other establishments, but you get what you pay for and this was good. Would most definitely visit again.

Every time I visit the staff are so friendly! I come here a lot and I have never had a bad experience. They’re quick and polite no matter how busy they are (and it gets very busy some mornings) but this is a testament to their success. Top Tip: the Chai Latte is the best I’ve had from anywhere in the world.
