La Mexicana in Great Yarmouth

Unfortunately the smallest portions ever received on a delivery. The portions were less than small. Burrito tasted nice but was like a mini wrap rather than a burrito an adult could eat for dinner. Tacos were really hot and filled with a spicy cream. It didn't really taste like tacos at all. Milkshake tasted like over sweet dark industrial chocolate sirup with milk. Overall disappointment

Food was terrible, nothing close to mexican, i ordered 2 tacos barely any meat it tasted like rubber, arrived much later than expected completely cold, most of it was alreqdy out of the tacos and in the box, just vegetables basically. Do not eat or order food from this place.

Ordered food from here twice, first time it arrived late but was worth the wait, second time I ordered it they then told me they were closed (after taking my money) it took over a month to receive my refund back from them.

I ordered from Boca tonight whilst away on holiday. The food was cooked quickly and was amazing! No complaints, flavourful, a wide variety or options and tastes. Service was lovely from the staff and I will definitely be returning.

Ordered through the website but never got the food and they denied having received the order or payment even after I sent a screen shot of the payment details on my bank account and the confirmation of order my email

Took over 2 hours to be delivered, called up and they said it was on route, for it to take another half an hour, fries were dry, burritos and chimichangas were greasy as all hell. Nothing was seasoned properly and in the end eating the food became monotonous and we didn't even want it anymore. They even messed up the churros, overcooked on the outside and basically raw in the middle, whoever cooked this food obviously doesn't care and it would be a stretch to call them a chef because that they are not. Thanks god for taking away taco bell and leaving this garbage in its wake, if you don't mind I'm going to make myself puke, I sure as hell don't want it coming out the other end.

We called in without booking on a night where the place was busy but understaffed and yet they treated us like royalty. The problems of being excellent were apparent, the constant phone ringing and JustEat deliveries leaving were a business card of success. Our food was exceptional, I often eat Mexican food, and have experienced a spectrum of quality, this ranks amongst the best, My Enchiladas were superb, whilst within our group the burritos both meat and vegetarian were popular, and I have never seen such a well made Quesadilla in British soil. The host continually checked on our happiness as the staff/delivery issues were delaying our service, a family run business was not let down by the length of time we had to spend, in-fact our host even told us the history of some Mexican dishes, ingredients and even his own family’s origins, all in a brilliant manner, he even popped out to get extra ingredients so we would not be disappointed. I don’t frequent Gt Yarmouth for food, but I have earmarked La Mexicana, as I shall return.

Quirky, vibrant restaurant run by the nicest of people. Outstanding authentic Mexican food with service to match. Many local restaurants could take note from these guys. King street isn't renowned for great restaurants or being the nicest of places but these guys really deserve an opportunity. Go!

We have just visited la mexicana following some great reviews we've seen and have to say it certainly lived up to the positive reviews.The food is all fresh, and a real taste of authentic Mexico. The corn tamale is amazing, as was the burrito my wife ordered as were the jalepeno popper starters and nachos with chorizo. Such great value, the owner and other staff so welcoming and friendly, it's like visiting old friends from our first visit! Will definitely be back and cannot recommend enough!!

Went here for a Mexican and wow wow wow! This place is incredible, you want proper Mexican food? You certainly get it here. We had this Mexican drink (I had a lime one) and they were sparkling drinks, can’t remember what it was called but very nice, I recommend!There was one lady in particular who was a member of staff in the restaurant who helped us out a lot in knowing what to choose for food and she even gave us complimentary tortilla chips and dip! Bless her, honestly she was a gem.The food was actually so reasonable too for what we had like I was shocked at how cheap it was for what we had. The sweet potato fries portion was delish! Me and my partner had naked burrito with added tortilla wraps on the side so we could fill them ourselves. Everything tasted fresh and seemed to be home made. The atmosphere was lovely, I loved the added Mexican sombreros. I really cannot wait to return. Well done everyone! Such a great place. Keep it up! :-)

Visited this authentic and truly wonderful restaurant tonight. The food was cooked to order and freshly prepared with some amazing tastes ....if you think you've eaten Mexican, then think again! The portion sizes were huge and most of which we shared. The service was great and the owner took time to come and talk to us. Can't recommend enough.

La Mexicana is a small, unassuming restaurant. The food is all homemade and the service exceptionally friendly. Excellent value and can’t be faulted in any way. If you’re in the area, give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.

What a find! Tucked away on King Street is a gem of a restaurant. Fresh ingredients, a talented chef, a lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff. The menu is excellent; we had tamales, enchiladas, a burrito and a sharing platter and everything was tasty and beautifully presented. The churros for desert were a real treat and we all agreed that we hadn't eaten this well in ages.

I could hardly belive my tastebuds at this place. Run by a local Mexican family they have resisted the temptation to go tex mex or some other fake mex food and gone straight for home cooked. We were only passing having been to the theatre. Unreal. The burritos taste as they should not as you eat in a shopping centre or a giraffe restaurant. all the stuff including the wraps are home made. The drinks are authentic including the beers and spirits. The churros are wow. And the family lovely! Great buzz too with the Mexican hats and decor and music. As good as cafe Pacifico my old favourite in Covent Garden In Yarmouth! Wow. I

This establishment is easy to miss when walking along King Street in Yarmouth but after an evening show at St Georges Theatre and feeling hungry, we stumbled upon this place. And I'm so glad we did!! The food was exceptionally good with fresh ingredients and traditional flavours. It is a family run business and they pour their heart and soul into this place. The only criticism is that they shouldn't employ staff who have little understanding of Mexican food. It was frustrating to be told "oh I don't know, let me ask" for every query we had about the menu but all's forgiven when the family make an effort to engage with their customers. Such interesting chats, kind service and mouthwatering food. We're looking forward to our next meal there!

Superb fresh Mexican food . Homemade unlike cgains which is reheated in a microwave. Limited menu but at least you know everything is made to order and not reheated.

Me and my other half have been 3-4 times and have loved it every time. The food is incredible with amazing spices and flavour. The staff are so friendly and inviting. The decor inside feels like being in a little bit of Mexico. Highly recommend

We booked this restaurant as the review were good but really disappointed. We ordered a main course and it was the size of a starter. The food was cold and we were the only ones in there. My meal was supposed to be spicy and it wasn't. Want to KFC straight after as we were still hungry. If you want a nice mexican meal I suggest you head to Pedro's in Norwich

Small, authentic Mexican restaurant in Great Yarmouth. Friendly staff and excellent home cooked food. This is traditional Mexican food and not the new wave modern Mexican.Brightly coloured decor inside with basic furnishings - more like a traditional Mexican cantina. Hours vary according to season.

As a lover of Mexican food, whilst visiting GY over my birthday weekend I found this gem of a restaurant. I phoned and booked a table for our large group and was asked if we was celebrating and I mentioned my birthday. On arrival we was made to feel very welcome including my 3yo daughter. The food was outstanding, as a regular to Mexican restaurants this was by far the best Mexican meal I've eaten. To top it off and the end of the meal a birthday cake was brought out which had been made especially. The only thing that could improve this restaurant was if they moved to London so I could eat there more often .

Wow eating here felt like we was sitting in the family’s home as the food was amazing authentic home cooked traditional Mexican food.

Have been before and will be back a lovely authentic Mexican restaurant we looked at the menu picked what we knew when the owner come to serve us she said there was some specials so in for a penny in for a pound we ordered and it was great and plenty for 2 and the specials were not on the menu so ask

We stumbled across here after ruling out many dated restaurants and being sick of the sight of fish and chips! And thank god we did!

An excellent little restaurant with an authentic atmosphere. Freshly prepared tasty dishes to suit most tastes. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Ordered from here on just eat on a Friday night. Placed my order at 6:45 ish. Was due to be delivered at 7:40 and by 8 nothing had arrived. Called up and was told they were stuck in traffic and would be there soon. It finally arrived at 8.15! It was cold/luke warm, the bottom of my borrito was burnt. Nachos were stale. Was missing a portion of churros and all was greasy and sloppy.

It looked promising..nice friendly staff..decided to give it a go.. Choice on menu was limited but adequate. We ordered cocktails, wine and 2 meals. The wine came first..then the meals..then the wrong cocktails , not only wrong but halfway through our dinner. The corn bread with what looked like mushed tuna dropped on it was inedible..the burrito was slightly better, but still left a lot of it, and that was after 2 of us had had go at it! And we got overcharged at the end. Do we risk it again................No!

Visited this evening and the food was delicious!

Decided to go here after being given a 10% discount voucher. Was a bit put off as the place was empty when we got there but it was early 5.15..even though it was a Saturday. But we went in and got a table by the window. Lovely decor, very quirky and different. Felt like a mexican restaurant. Drinks menu was not that informative. The cocktails did not inform you what was in each one and to be honest i like to know. But the waitress was more than happy to explain it all to me. Also didn't get our drinks until after our starters.

Found through TripAdvisor, can thoroughly recommend nice fresh food. Manager / owner is a lovely lady. Give it a go. Good beer too !

This restaurant is by far the best Mexican food I have tried in England, very authentic and fresh, quirky seating area and lovely decor.

Me and my wife regularly visit this place. The owner is Mexican, and hires Mexican staff. You need to try their food, it's incredible!

We were visiting Great Yarmouth and stopped in for lunch. Lovely family run restaurant. Family are lovely. Family and chef are Mexican, which shows. The best Mexican food we have tasted and the cocktails, premium quality. We have tried many Mexican restaurants in London and this place is so much better.

Visited here as a party of 8 people, pre booked, deposit paid (which they forgot to take off at the end) there was nobody else in the restaurant yet it took 20 mins to make a drink. We ordered our food which then took over an hour to arrive, it was bland, greasy, and cold not one person finished their food, in fact one of our party was quite ill later that night. Service was poor, food was poor we would not eat here again.

Celebrated my sisters birthday here and all I can say is how incredible it was. The owners were so friendly and welcoming, they literally went the extra mile in every way possible. The food was authentic Mexican and definitely the best I've ever tasted. The cocktails were delicious too. To top it off, at the end of the night they brought out a birthday all of their own accord! So very thoughtful and kind. I will certainly be coming back next time I'm in GY.

I went to La Mexicana for my friends birthday, we all had a great night.. Top service, Top food, Topless waiter (special request for the birthday girl )... Food is top notch, I've never been to Mexico but managed to try there cuisine from back home.. Decent size portions, good value for money. Definitely worth trying out this family run business

Iv eaten Mexican food all over the world and this is as good as it gets. 100% authentic Mexican food. Grate service and the lady who owned the place took time out to chat with us. From the Jalopino starter to the Churros to the cocktails. Absolutely brilliant. If you like real Mexican food then you need to give it a go.

Lovely decoration in the place, feels really authentic.The service was brilliant throughout the meal. The food was ok, the starter and dessert was really good but the main was a little disappointing and a bit dry. There was no chilli heat in my food at all which I was expecting from a Mexican restaurant. Saying that, I haven't had authentic Mexican food before so maybe its not supposed to be spicy. There was clearly a drainage problem in the restaurant on the night we went, as there was a slight smell when we entered. It was also really cold upstairs where we sat, I was hoping the spice in the food would warm me up! With a few improvements I would return.

Without doubt the best Mexican restaurant I have been to. Delicious, well presented food. Excellent atmosphere very authentic actually feels like we are in Mexico. Very friendly staff. Good range of drinks too. Me and my family shared several dishes allowing us to try lots of the menu and every single dish was cooked to perfection and full of flavour.

Came here for my friends birthday, there were about 13 of us and we had a mixture of cocktails, sangria and a variety of tapas we could just pick at as we didn't want a big meal. The food was absolutely delicious, the crispy cheese went down well with everyone and obviously the nachos were people's favourite. The cocktails.. well what can I say, you won't need anymore than 2, very strong and the sizes of them are definitely larger than fish bowls. (Ideal for sharing) Would come here again without a doubt and have already recommended to family and friends.

We were welcomed immediately upon entering this quaint little restaurant, and taken upstairs where the decor was charming.

Lovely place to eat, authentic Mexican food. The portion sizes are all the same (nibbles, starters and mains) and are priced reasonably. Great value for money. All dishes were freshly made. I'd recommend the churros with the caramel sauce, very yummy!

Went with a group of friends, really good authentic Mexican food, all fresh as well. Portions were just a little small than what I'm used to but it more than makes up for it in the price, and I was pleasantly satisfied. Had three courses and a bottle of lager for £22, it is a compact restaurant but is well worth a visit, will definitely go again.

Really fantastic place. Staff very lovely, food fresh, colourful and so tasty! Impressed with the authenticity of the food, particularly the Churros and Cevichu, oh and the Margaritas were delicious too!

Excellent authentic Mexican. Our friend is from Guadalajara and also agreed it was authentic. No Tex mex you must try it you won't go home hungry. The lime cured cod as a starter is to die for. Staff are lovely so friendly and make you feel like you are in their living room.

Guys, I'm from the US where we obviously get great Mexican food, and this place is off the charts!!!! I'm telling you, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to. And the service and reception was really warm and friendly. It also looks incredible. They have clearly put a lot of effort in. Also a good place for vegetarians- the refried beans are veg. A must if you are in the area, or for that matter, out of the area.
