Great staff working really hard on a very busy public holiday. Good food with nice gluten free options.

Love this place and the food is fab however £4.65 for an iced Latte when a hot one is £3.45 plus £1.10 for a shot of syrup seems insane. More expensive than Starbucks and Costa. Plus not advertising the price of iced drinks makes it feel they are hiding it. Food and shop are fab.

We go here quite a lot as the food is excellent. Our 1st Roast dinner yesterday. Very hot and enjoyed it. Only please roast your potatoes more. They were not the best as they had no colour at all. Still a good lunch xxx

Expensive, but the butcher knows what he's doing. Avoid the cafe of a Sunday lunch, the roast isn't amazing

People parked in the disabled parking spaces, without their blue badges. I was in a lot of pain. Having to walk further to the shop and cafe.

La Hogue is always wonderful! We often meet up - two families, 11 or 12 people. This time was for my mum's 86th birthday lunch. When we arrived there was a birthday banner and reserved table. All the food was utterly delicious, came out really quickly served by smiley, polite waiting staff. We had a beautiful time. It's always such a treat to come and nothing is ever wrong!

Lovely food in the cafe that works along side a great little farm shop

I love this place! I have been 3 times now and I think its so great. Not too far if you live near thetford or mildenhall area. I highly recommend the biscoff cheesecake and mocha. The workers are so kind and if you're lucky you may see some highland cows 😊

Lovely garden centre and café. Breakfast was good only criticism is a little overpriced. But we find most garden centres are.

Breakfast was expensive but good quality the only negative was the fruit and veg is expensive and looked past it's best

Lovely location and excellent quality food. However, I spent £14.99 on a Farmers Breakfast, got halfway through, and realised I wasn't given any eggs! That was bit poor.

Very over priced for what it is! Cheese panini had little to no cheese in it and it cost £9. Steak burger dry and awful. Breakfast ok. Would not come again!

What a fantastic place to have lunch. The restaurant offers a good choice of food. There is also a fantastic choice of homemade cakes. Something for everyone!The shop itself is a little expensive, but offers some lovely items. There is also a butchers counter and lots of home grown produce. Well worth a visit! 👍😊

Massive shout out to Bev. I chatted to her about chilli jam and ten minutes later she had found the recipe we spoke about and had come over to the table to share it with me! On top of that, the overall customer experience from everyone was excellent. Breakfast was spot on and we spent more money on cakes, as they all looked very tempting! Second visit to this lovely farm shop, lots of variety, decent prices. The butcher went above and beyond to help us out today. Not yet had the time to spare to stop in the café, maybe on my next visit!

Great breakfast and most of the staff were very lovely. Tried to book but were told to just turn up. Then when we turned up they told us we should have booked lol. The ingredients used in the cooked breakfast was of the highest quality and worth the cost and the cakes were really nice too.

Limited options in the cafe but the things there are are very nice. Lovely cakes, pastries and breakfast. Farm shop has many many things, usual prices for a farm shop but lots of interesting bits and pieces, food and gifts.

Good for food, drink and shopping

Out for the day and this place came up on a Google search, we were on our way home. It was a busy car park and inside had plenty of places to sit down and eat your food. It was around 1pm and there were signs explaining they were "short staffed, so please be kind." I ordered a pot of loose leaf breakfast tea (very rare to see this in a café, so a lovely a treat!) with scampi and chips and ham, egg and chips. Contrary to the signs, the food was served in a quicker time than I anticipated, which was great, and it was plentiful and very well presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Looked around the farm shop, well stocked and reasonably priced. Will pop in again next time we are up this way.

The restaurant food is lovely all freshly cooked. Good portion size and made to order. The restaurant is clean and the staff are friendly. The farm shop has lots of choice, lots of fresh organic fruit and vegetables. Also lots of freshly baked cakes , biscuits, meats and gifts.

This place is a joy to visit. The food is excellent, well priced and portioned. If there is a downside, then it's the parking or lack of it. When busy, prepare to wait to find a space.

Lovely Farmer’s breakfast. Polite and friendly service. No heating in dog friendly conservatory so a little cold. We are here regularly and are never dissatisfied.

We met friends at this fabulous farm shop and cafe on Sunday morning. Breakfast was really good, lovely sausage, bacon, fried egg and beans with extras of mushrooms and hash browns. Nice latte, if a little on the weak side. Farm shop stocking all the usual items plus getting ready for Halloween and Christmas, we picked up a few little items and some chutney. Well worth the near 90 mile round trip and would do it again.

Great spot for food or the shop. Great park for children. Wouldn’t go anywhere else for steaks. The butcher is really friendly and gives great advice on cooking up the meat. Even treats my 2 year old like a rockstar and made him a sausage lollipop!

Great place for breakfast, lunch or just coffee. The selectin is great and the cakes you are spoilt for choise. Nice selection of fruit and veg, frozen food, proper butchers. As you can tell yes I really recommend you visit.

Excellent cafe, just had the best jacket potato I've had for a long while, nice-sized fluffy potato with lots of cheese and tuna mayonnaise. Good butchery department, good vegetables, only slightly let down by a lacklustre selection of cheeses.

Stopped on a road trip back from Norwich to London. Just blown away. The food was fantastic. Really good portion sizes, fresh and flavourful food. Lots of seating including outside seating. A small playground for the kids and sheep nearby! The farm shop as well is well stocked with beautiful produce. This place is worth going out of our way

Not very friendly towards people with food allergies and intolerances. You can't change anything on set breakfast menu and have to pay to have alternative milk even if lactose intolerant. Rip off!

Good food ,but they don't do swaps of items, so if a dish comes with hash browns and black pudding, they won't swap it for a slice of toast, 😭

Big fan of the la hogue butcher, good quality meat at fair prices, always well stocked and the gents behind the counter are extremely helpful. Will go here over Bury or Cambridge for a butcher any day.

Stopping off here is a must on our trips to Norfolk. Breakfast always fabulous quality,lovely caked,friendly staff and the farm shop has a great variety of produce.

We booked (5) for Sunday lunch, we were able to park ok and were seated quickly. Sunday roast was ok but not great - veg was overcooked, beef was a bit fatty (although there was a lot of it), only a couple of potatoes, gravy was already poured. I've had cooked breakfasts here in the past and they are great but I don't plan to come back for a Sunday roast.

Cutesy little stop off for us. Lots of food choices. In particular a great array of cakes! Lots in the farm shop to choose from too, from food to gifts. Lots of parking and outdoor space and dog friendly. Staff and service fantastic.

I visited La Hogue during the coronavirus lockdown. Cafe was set up with a one way system, social distancing measures and hand gel. I thought the set-up was good. No inside seating was available but there were plenty of grassy areas and some picnic tables. The standard of the food and particularly the cake was as good as I remembered it. My blueberry cheesecake was fantastic. The prices were very reasonable. I'm sure I'll be heading back soon. August 2022: still great but now with normal service. September 2023 still fab.

This was a lucky find on our way to Norwich from London. It's just off the main road down a side road and it's a farm shop with a restaurant and cafe. The food is many varied and very tasty and there are teas and coffees of course and cake - in many forms! Plus loads of fruit and veg and chocs and biscuits in the shop and a few other foodstuffs that I seemed to want to buy quite a lot! - but we stuck with the sausage roll and tea and a walnut cake to follow - what a silly lunch! - but it broke the journey and the place was a fun surprise with very easy access and parking and a nice view from the capacious restaurant area, looking out across the fields. A very pleasant surprise and well worth a repeat visit - just don't miss the turning!

It was disappointing today which is very unusual. I ordered two dishes which were not available and had to order something which was not my preferred choice. My husband was satisfied with his choice.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way past Chippenham Park. Really nice breakfast. Lots of dietary options e.g. the full breakfast, vegetarian and a low carbs option. Cooked lovely. Seating area is nice with views of the fields. Service was polite and friendly and food service was prompt. Not far from the A14.

OK, but the bacon at breakfast was too salty and we were then followed around the shop afterwards by the assistant to ensure we didn't steal anything - which was nice.

My partner and I have visited the cafe twice in the last few weeks. Pretty good going bearing in mind we live in Hertfordshire. The food is always good here, and the service satisfactory. The prices are relatively reasonable too. The decor is pretty good with a nice conservatory extension. The toilets are always clean and there usually is ample parking. A few weeks ago we had their excellent Christmas dinner. It was very good especially the turkey slices and homemade gravy. We then came back today (30/12/23) to try their breakfast again. A few snags like not being able to change the set breakfasts and it would be good too if they gave you more than one slice of toast and bundled tea or coffee into the set breakfast price. I once had the coffee about a year ago and wouldn’t do it again although they may have improved it since then. We have also noticed a bit of shrinkflation but all restaurants are doing this I’m afraid. Lastly, we couldn’t quite understand why there were no parsnips with the Christmas dinner although the inclusion of savoy cabbage was a good idea. But these are just little things. It is worth visiting and there is a farm shop too. We recommend La Hogue to you and your family.

Visited the cafe. Good value and freshly made to order. Nice breakfast menu but you cannot swap any items. It would also be nice to be able to have a poached egg rather than fried. Had a limited time at the table and were asked to leave before the time was over.

Called in for a light bite and coffee as was passing, although this soon turned into a full breakfast. Good tasting coffee with the food order being delivered to our table very quickly after ordering. In summary, all very good and will certainly call in again when I'm next in the area.

Went for Christmas lunch , gluten free main course was fantastic including gf Yorkshire with roast beef. Unfortunately gf Christmas pudding wasn't available. 1 cake in 20 was gf. I was offered icecream. but would have liked Christmas pudding. custard is naturally gf.

Popped in for lunch having never been before. Chose their La Hogue breakfast plus black pudding and a cappuccino. Everything arrived very quickly and was very nice! I ate everything which for me is saying something, as I very rarely clear my plate. I will certainly call in again when I'm in the area next! 😊

Amazing farm shop! Sausages from butchers are incredible. Cafe food is amazing, always save room for a dessert! Great range of fresh fruit, veg, treats, snacks, frozen food and butchers. Plus sell gifts, includinhg jellycat. At christmas they also have a barn at the back that is full to the brim of xmas decs and also inspirstion trees etc. Love going in there when we visit, feels so magical and a lot of items are reasonably priced. Little play area at back of cafe.

Nice farm shop and cafe a couple of minutes drive from the A11

My Dear 87yr old mum was loudly accused of shop lifting when she sat on her walking aid wheels waiting for me whilst I paid for goods. Woman shop keeper said is that your mum sitting there with her green bag.....yes I smiled.....well she has stuff in her bag she hasn't paid for!!!!!!! I said she certainly did pay for two Christmas cookies I saw her... I fumbled embarrassed into mums bag who was loudly Declaring she did pay the lady on the till......the lady on till said she didn't pay me. I fished into mums purse & showed the shop assistant the reciept for two Christmas Cookies @ £2.95 each.... Mum mum was in tears of embarrassment......She nor I have ever stole Mum is soooo shook up. The lady never apologised & just said we'll she must've paid the other lady who has gone to lunch! Other customers stood agast at mums treatment & said if that had been me I'd tell her to take back her goods & give you a refund! I showed receipt to all the people gathered around my mum & myself watching & left the shop. We have been regular visitors to la Hogue since it opened, often have had family gatherings there in the lovely cafe..... But now mum nor I never want to set foot in the place again. The woman didn't even apologise to my dear old mum. Still feel cross about this three days later. Mum just sat smiling waiting for me.....in the shop....then to be spoken to like a criminal......Should've been handled very differently!

The farm shop itself including the butchers is lovely, although slightly overpriced. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The cafe however was a major disappointment, overpriced and overcrowded, and the food was mediocre especially considering the price.
