Sent the wrong food. When I called, they offered to send me another order. Its been 1hour 20 minutes and still no food.

Absolutely horrendous, order a burger and apart from the fact it arrived 2 hours late, one of the burgers was missing and when I called the staff said it was my fault! They then said just eat got it wrong. What a sham, please do not waste your money or time.

Avoid, I have never written bad a review on a takeaway but they get the order wrong and when I called they are rude on the phone even though they can't speak English properly. I ask them how long for them to change the order and he hangs up on me. Do not go here unless you want to be disappointed. AVOID

Chicken Wraps are so tasty. They are very generous with the cheese they put on, unlike other takeaways. Delivery was fast and cooked to perfection. They are even open late. Brilliant takeaway I have no complaints. I highly recommend!!! 😄👍

Ordered for a collection, got home to find out an item was missing, I telephoned their line and they advised it would be sent out within the next 5 minutes as I suggested I would drive back. It took them nearly an hour to deliver the missing item despite 3 further calls progress chasing and one call being lied to about road conditions! I do not recommend

The calzone pizza I ordered was so dry I couldn't eat it as they put cheese on top but not inside! Very disappointed would not recommend!

Ordered food and was promised 50 minutes to an hour and took 1 hour and a half so rang up and they told me that it was in the way but on the phone was the same person who rang me 10 minutes later who was the bosses voice thinking I was stupid enough to think he was an insured driver for business vehicle so told him to keep the food and didn’t want it possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had with a food take away terrible service full of lies.

They don't seem to know what thin crust base is, sent me deep pan, rang to complain resent another deep pan. Has happened on two occasions now, pizza is good but not if you prefer thin crust. P.s on second occasion was told had no dough ready for thin crust,would be longer to deliver so just sent deep pan base instead!

La Dolce Vita has gone downhill in my estimation. Order took over an hour & a half to arrive which is very disappointing as I live more or less around the corner. Delivery charge for SR6 has gone up to £3.20 which is very expensive considering how close I am to the restaurant. Food was not worth the wait. Arrived cold & of poor quality. Binned best part. Mine came with salad (if that's what you can call it). Mouldy old lettuce & dried up tomato. They shouldn't have bothered. See picture below. I've been a frequent customer of La Dolce Vita over the years and food was always great. I'm afraid you have lost a customer.

Decided I would make an update to my review, because honestly the quality has improved into 2022. Not exceptionally, but still a lot better than what I'd said before. The food here is 50/50. I don't mean that half of the menu is good, and half is bad. I mean, no matter what you order, you have about a 50% chance it's going to taste awful. I can order one thing one day and the pizza is beautiful and the chips are golden and crispy, and order the same thing literally a day later, and the pizza tastes chewy and metallic, and the chips are undercooked and way too greasy. It's a bit of a dice roll. The prices are standard for this sort of takeaway, you could probably feed 2 people here for £10, or maybe £15-£20 if you're really having a fat day! They have some good offers, which I didn't notice until ages after. I usually order a 12" pizza, chips, and garlic sauce which will be about £13, and it took me months to realise the have all that AND a can of pop as an offer for £11. Check the special offers and such! In store is usually relatively tidy, and the staff are nice. You can probably tell based on the place that you're gonna get some chavs in here, and they can be loud or rude, but that's no fault of the takeaway. The reason I order from here is honestly the convenience rather than the quality. Some days they stay open past 3am, which is great for night owl like myself. The downside is, on the days the food hasn't tasted so great, I've been very ill the following day. The kitchen staff don't seem to wear hairnets or gloves, or follow other health and safety related things. So watch out for that. Overall, this place is just meh. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could, because it's so 50/50, but I'll give it 3 because I've honestly probably spend £200 here in the last few month out of convenience

delivery driver came to the door in high vis jacket and was before time he was very polite and friendly he was also exceptional at his job always gave a smile went above and beyond to what a delivery driver normally does and will recommend to anyone, great friendly service tipped driver always very friendly and very helpful and shop always gets order correct no complaints from me.

Hour late freezing cold chicken tikka looked like dogmeat

After it going off the rails and been absolutely S**t I'm happy to say one ordered tonight and the Dolce Vita is back. Pizza was dripping with cheese and full of flavour. Kebab meat was perfect. Keep it up.

Trying to ring them and I have rang them 10 times and no reply very shocking behavior.

Ordered food using uber eats. Got 2 wraps, garlic bread and pop as a deal. You would think with the food would be a 2l bottle and not a 500ml one. One of us ended up with no drink. One wrap was ice cold, I mean as if it was kept in the fridge. Tomatoes with a funky taste, bitter cabbage. Donner kebab didnt seem fully cooked yet crispy. Tortilla had a burnt taste despite cold. Other wrap - chips over cooked, not wrapped very well and ended up using a plate for it. Garlic bread really cold and crusts really hard. Even pop, even the thing that is manufactured elsewhere was flat. Really bad experience and will not order here again. Avoid if possible.

Appalling their got no respect for their customers and lie over the phone. Said they would send my bottle of pop out but they didn't.How can you forget that when I literally only order that and a wrap. And because I refused to pay for missing item until it showed up they refused to send it out. Even though I had already paid for my wrap and the deliverly fee. Absolutely disgusting when I place an order I expect everything to show up. I won't be ordering from here again. You's have lost a really good customer!!!!!!

If u could put a minus score i would of, absolute disgrace, i was waiting a hour for my takeaway and when i rang to see where the delivery was, the woman who answered had a right bad attitude and said my order had left ten mins ago, where i live is only around 12 minutes drive from the shop and so by the time i rang, the food should arrived but still we waited a further 25 minutes for our food, we will never use this place again and recommend others don't either.

We had the chicken kebab " buy 1 get 1 free " Well worth the money and plenty left for another meal the next day . Defo be back .

Not good enough. Second time we have ordered from here in four weeks and both times soft drinks ordered have been six months out of date. Normally the food here has been good; that's why we use it. However, tonight was half an hour late. These things can happen, but a bit of communication would go a long way. Just a text, it's not hard. Also, when you pay extras for food, the standard arrangement is that you get them. We didn't. Also, a polite nature on the phone instead of being rude to my wife goes a long way. When spoke to the manager, he was polite, but the damage was done. Not using them again. That is a shame as like to support local business. Up your game.

Ordered food at 11.45pm (27.05.2020) Was due to arrive at 1am 28.05.2020 Rang 3 times (1.18am/1.33am/1.46am) Each call person said give it 1 minute and it will be there. Food did not arrive until 1.54am (2h9m after ordering and 54 minutes after its expected time) When food was opened food was barely warm. Very VERY disappointed.

Shop looked un clean thay was grease on the mettle counter the waiting airear very poor crums of food all over and ripped seats food I ordered was an pizza which was thin crust over not seen a pizza. It was thick and very well done the chips was like frozen chips not any taste service was not good lady was on the phone long time and 2 men in the back shouting in an language which was not English not good impression of shop this is my 2nd visit this was an 3 star review the first time but now after this I give 0.5 star I hope these improve in the future but these is not the best pizza shop in Sunderland like it says on the menu well not on thease 2 visits which has been 6 months apart

Rip off prices and disgusting greasy food, ordered from here by mistake "Got someone else to order for me online" they somehow managed to order from here instead of the place I wanted to order from. £29 for two 12 inch pizzas and a 10 inch pizzas, nearly fell through the floor when I found out the price. You can get a dominoes cheaper with the online 50% off deal that runs all year. Anyway as far as food goes pizza was like a loaf of bread with cheese and tomato on and the grease was ridiculous dripping everywhere I ate two slices and couldn't face any more, I felt ill. This is definitely one to avoid.

An hour and forty minutes later and I'm still waiting for the food to arrive. Don't think I've ever ordered from here and it's taken under an hour. Food always turns up cold by the time it gets here as well. If anyone wants to order from here I suggest you do it a week in advance. Maybe then it will turn up on time. Just rang and they said they haven't got my order even though they've taken payment from my card and sent me a confirmation email. Get this one wait another half an hour for food or I'll have to ring back tomorrow for a refund because there's no manager there. What a joke.

My favourite takeaway by far in Sunderland absolutely beautiful chicken kebabs are the best good range of food always fresh cooked hot and portion size is good value for money never any left overs

Only something small but they had forgotten to put my Fanta in with order so had to ring up and the woman on the phone never apologised and when I asked if I'll get it next time she just said yes and hung up.. Never asked who I was so how can they know!

We went as a group, the service was excellent, food arrived quickly and meals came out together, the meals were all hot, tasty and well presented, and the service was great (staff were attentive, warm and pleasant). We will definitely be back. (The Pasta Arribita was the best we had tasted, and the wine was excellent too)

Ordered a pizza last night...was delivered quickly enough but the pizza base was so soggy it was inedible & had was that wet it had soaked through the pizza box it was in which was also wet. Used to be the best takeaway in Sunderland but has gone right down hill recently.

Ordered the meat balls and pasta , actually rang up saying they had given us bolognese by mistake , however they hadn't , they were just tiny ! Pasta was like mush so that went straight in the bin, Ordered large donner kebab too, got tray of kebab meat that look old and dry with chips :/ No pitta or salad. We have been eating at this restaurant for twenty five years. We know it as 'Roberto's' because for most of that time the 'maitre' was an Italian called Roberto. Eventually it was renamed as his! Unfortunately Roberto died a few years ago, but the restaurant preserved his name. In any case, the quality of the food in any restaurant depends largely on its chef. Under Roberto we were never disappointed. I recall that twenty five years ago the twof us could have a pizza each, a pud, and a glass of wine for around £8 - halcyon days! After Roberto died, food quality went down a little for a short while, but for us it has been back up there for a few years now. The present chef produces the most delightful thin crust pizzas - very thin with a crispy edge and the toppings of greater mass than the base - not one of those pizzas where the thin base is soggy and with a meagre topping! It is true that the decor is a little dated in style - it is exactly the same as when we first went there - but as noted elsewhere, it does have a certain charm, and the staff are always very attentive. We haver noticed that, whereas it was hugely popular a few years ago (we can recall having to wait downstairs for a table), not it is sparsely attended. Perhaps fashions have moved on and customers are trying the food of different/other nationalities? We still enjoy going there though - but it would be nicer to see it busier; that always adds to the atmosphere!

Ordered a fairly substantial delivery from ldv...was told it would be 50 mins...1hour 15 mins later it had not arrived...phoned and cancelled order only to be told it was on it's way....so was Christmas....

Nice hearty home cooked Italian food at a reasonable price. The decor is a bit 70s but that adds to the charm.

Despite having Eaten here previously and used vouchers NO problem .I tried to book a Table a whole 2 weeks in advance for a "special treat" for my partner and I . All was going OK, they took my details of date, time etc then as soon as I mnetioned I wanted to use my GROUPON VOUCHER the whole tone of the conversation chnaged , " Oh Im so sorry THAT date, errm , no we are fully booked that evening, my mistake Sir , im very sorry. " Then HUNG UP ON ME !! YEAH RIGHT !!! They WERE OK until I mentioned GROUPON !! Such double standards ! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAUGE !
