Long time wait for delivery and rude behaviour

This place is probably the worst place I've been to in a long time. The food was absolutely minging. The chips were full of grease and crusty, the fish was tiny and just "not nice". The sauces were absolutely foul. The curry looked like uhm, yeah.... I can't say that on here. It wasn't good at all. The price was reasonable but given the quality of the food, well, you'd expect no less. The staff were downright rude, ignorant, and toxic. As a white fella I actually felt a little racially targeted by these guys. They definitely didn't look like they wanted my business which really caught me by surprise. I suffered stomach cramps and almost vomited after eating barely 10% of the food I was given. If you value your dining experiences and want something remotely edible, avoid this place like the plague.

Chip butty order most nights bread fresh chips far less desireable

I should have checked the ratings first. Ordered a burger and donner. Burger was burnt as can be seen in the image. Donner was tasteless. I was the only customer in the shop, still took them 20-25 minutes for the order. One guy was in cell all the time. One guy took my order and disappeared. One guy should up after 15 minutes to make my order.

Ordered a large chips and a chip butty with sauce...tell me if either of these look large. For 1 quid extra too. Absolute joke. Feeling robbed.

Food was good, prices were a bit more expensive than I'm used to but that's probably a city centre premium. All fine.

Do yourself a favour and never go here. They scam people by overcharging them for food. I got charged £75 instead of £7.5 after a night out, which is a lot of money for a student to lose. they are refusing to give it back and were so mean and awful about the whole situation. Absolutely terrible service and the food is well below average. It’s a well known fact around Newcastle that this chippy overcharges people (shame I only found out about this after this incident) but I’ve never heard of a situation this bad. They take advantage of drunk people after a night out. Always check the amount being charged before tapping your card, and don’t support this business, they are terrible people.

Asked for a chicken parmo and three deep fried sausages, he only gave me a parmo and three battered sausages in a cone. Will continue to buy sausages in a cone. 6/5

Stopped here for fish and chips whilst we visited Oktoberfest - It was ok decent size fish and a mountain of chips at a reasonable price.

We walked in and ordered our food which we then waited 40 minutes for. We received our food and the order was wrong, so we asked for them to fix the order and asked for a free bottle of water for our bad service and they refused. This place is a shambles and it was not even busy at the time. Do not recommend this place at all. They don’t deserve your money.

Be careful once you have paid in here. They don't give you a receipt then they tell you you have only ordered 1 portion instead of two. Absolute rip off. I paid cash so had no proof that I ordered two portions. I heard two guys complaining that they had been ripped off the night before as well. Stay well away from this awful takeaway!!!!!!!!

Not a good related review My son lost his phone and wallet last night. We tried calling numerous time and then we got an answer. It was the owner of this chippy. We dashed in to pick it up to find not only did he have the phone but the wallet too. I offered a cash reward but he wouldn’t take it. Can’t thank you enough, it’s taught my son a big lesson. 👍

Getting worse. Sneering staff. Handling the kebab meat by hand before it goes into the hot storage. Food burns more often than not. Chips are often undercooked or half a day old.

literally the worst meal i've ever eaten, chicken burger was anaemic, flavourless and generally dreadful. 'chilli sauce' was cold passata with chilli flakes in it. chips were eric dier too, chip shop chips left out for at least 20 minutes. bun was stale and the salad comprised of poorly prepared red onion with the husk still on and raw cabbage. £8.10 with no drink. inside was incredibly filthy too, unless theyre using mayonaise as floor cleaner absolutely no excuse. caused internal turmoil the day after too. worst bit was this was my friends genuine reccommendation and he said he enjoyed his food. shocking, avoid

Food was pretty awful tonight, chips were all scraps, pathetic that they think acceptable, parmo was missing ingredients, very soggy and generally just not pleasant to eat, has been good in the past but won't be back after tonight's miserable sorry excuse for a takeaway treat.

Wanted a kebab and decided to quickly order from here, biggest mistake, where do I even start, the pitta looked awful and clearly old bread, the kebab was so dry it was all clumped together, and Jesus don't get me started on the chips, old, cold and just snapped in my hand, in the order I asked for garlic sauce and even that didnt even come. Its actually laughable that these people will give you food like this but i doubt they would eat it themselves and the fact you order online nothing ever happens, I couldn't even give it to the seagulls it was actually unedible. If you want to waste your money, go ahead, order from here, but I highly highly recommend you look elsewhere. Awfully disgusting, unbelieveable.

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Unfortunately had to give 1 star as I really wanted to give zero. Worst chippy I’ve ever been too. £3 for a very small bag of chips- that were greasy, old oil remnants and cold. When challenged about this, they said this is what you get.

This isn't the place to order from sober. Many people have issues with delivery. They have often gotten mine and friends orders wrong online. However it's a perfect place to finish off a night out. It's always quite rowdy and there's lots of drunks around but the food just hits the right spot

I do NOT! even know where to begin with my experience with this establishment. For starters the food was simply dreadful I ordered a chicken burger with chips and it was simply just sad the burger was simply very arid and when I finally made contact it was simply tepid the chips were simply stodgy and I only counted 12.3 in my box (.3 because someone stole one from my food I was simply beyond disbelief and simply mortified) Next! in my experience a unruly bunch of teenage hoodlums began name calling me due the fact that I was simply of an older age bracket (I turn 18 this week I am looking forward to it I am going bowling with the chaps and Migg my best friend coincidentally his double barrel surname happens to be barket-chippy) In conclusion simply put I had a very unpleasant experience and have now crossed this establishment off of my food web, I would rather eat at the greggs situated next to st james park (see my other review for details). Thank you for your time and have a lovely jubbly experience.

I popped in here for a bite to eat and it is a mistake. The place was disgusting and the wait for an overcooked flavourless burger was far too long. I totally understand that it is in a party street & people make a mess but the staff just leave the mess. I would suggest people give the place a wide berth

Been here a few times and it’s honestly the best Chippy I’ve been to. Quality food, the pizza was amazing and the fish and chips was cooked to perfection, better than anything you’d ever get on the seaside. Food hygiene rating is always 5 stars so I know I can trust it unlike most takeaways! Will definitely be back!! :)))

Used to order online from here in my first year of uni, wasn't too bad, could've been cheaper based on what we got but it wasn't too bad really, it was just very ok-ish pizza. I ordered this year and noticed that my £4.50 fish and chips was actually £8.28, that's because they give you extra fees if you get a small one. See, if you get a small fish and chips then it's £2.50 less than the regular one but then they add on £2 afterwards because it's a small order. Add that to the service charge which they don't show you and the delivery fee, it ended up being nearly £4 extra. Only go here if you want to pay the maximum for the bare minimum.

I can see the reason why sober people are not eating here. The place was very dirty and I didn't feel there comfortable. The burger was awful and there were no veggies inside even there were on picture. The kebab wasn't the worst but they didn't wrap it properly so the sauce spilled all over me and on my clothes which were destroyed. Staff saw it all and they didn't even say sorry! Never again!

If I could give a zero star I would. The steak pie I ordered tasted off and out of date. The kebab meat was paper thin and all the food was freezing cold. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. Wish I read the reviews first

Be aware, they over charge you for what you have ordered! Make sure you add it up before paying! The food is also so slow and disgusting! Service and hospitality is disgraceful and should not be allow to have a service as such allowed.

Never again! Ordered from here a good few times via UberEats as they tend to have good deals on the app. However, I ordered from them tonight, but the discounts weren’t applied. Tried cancelling it straight away on Uber, but I wasn’t able to. Called the restaurant to try and explain that I wanted to cancel the order but reprocess it straight away. Before I made my point across, he just said 'tough' and hung up. Tried ringing him back several times but he didn’t pick up. Had to contact Uber customer service and cancel the whole order, then they tried to ring the restaurant but there was no answer. Order arrived late and the drink was missing. Food was also cold.

Have ordered here at least once a week for over a year now, however the service has depreciated massively. They tried to charge me £15.50 for a £4.50 wrap, I guess they assumed I was very drunk and would just pay it!

Middle of the board. I've had good experiences and I've had bad. Food is hit and miss depending on staffs mood. Delivery is available but doesnt always arrive. Shame coz it was a nice dependable place at one time.

VILE! The most greasy food I have ever eaten. Wish I could add photos so you can see just how disgusting the food is here. Food tasted just as bad as it looked. My partner couldn’t even touch his fish, chips were extremely undercooked, kebab meat was DRIPPING with oil. The quality is definitely reflected in the price, cheap and nasty!

Awful service received tonight, ordered fair bit of food came with half the order missing, then when tried to eat what actually came it was stone cold and the driver was blasting music in my street at 1am. Tried ringing restaurant to rectify the order and he claimed to not have a driver, then after trying to get me to pay a £6 charge on Uber eats to get the forgotten food, eventually he admitted to having a driver and sent the food. All this over a couple of pizzas. Never again.

The service was tardy, the prices not particularly cheap & the food uniformly of such poor quality as to be barely enjoyable. Really the only positive thing I can say is that it is located on a street with ample benches on which to sit & eat one's meal.

Ordered a BBQ meatfeat pizza and it literally tastes of nothing. Cheap flavourless ingredients, the chips were undercooked and the guy working there really couldn't be bothered to serve us, and he overcharged me. Food was ok the first time I went here but failed to meet the mark on this occasion.
