Mamá quedó encantada con el chico del frente que empujó y empujó hasta que entró. Mamá tiene pasta con pollo, lo cual estaba bien. Tuve pollo en salsa de champiñones. Mi salsa se había partido y no sabía a nada en realidad. Las patatas fritas estaban grasientas y frías. Comí aproximadamente la mitad de las papas fritas y nada de pollo. La comida era sosa en el mejor de los casos y la mía era horrible. Atraído por un tipo que podía vender hielo a los esquimales, hizo que el lugar sonara increíble. Teníamos 2 hijos y nos garantizó macarrones con queso para nuestro hijo de 7 años.Así que entramos y el mac y el queso eran conchas de pasta con un trozo de queso derretido sobre él. . . . . mi marido tenía pescado y patatas fritas y fue terrible. Tenía risotto y estaba gelificado junto con todo en el plato. Desastre absoluto. . . .Mantente alejado. . . . . . . . . . . .

Today, 24th of August 2019, we tried in the Restaurant "Rosso Italiano" Fish & Chips. Hands off!!!!!The worst Fish & Chips we have ever eaten. A deep Fried Fish with a chemical Sauce...terrible.We payed 40 Pounds and that was the end.For ALL tourist, Don not eat in this Restaurant!!!!!

Reformed chicken mixed in with a weird pasta sauce. Terrible food. People at front try to force you to come in. Saw waitress drop a fork on floor and put it back on table. My knife had food deposits on it. This place is in a prime location in Leicester square and is an embarrassment to London. I will never go here again. Avoid at all costs. Auto charge of service as well.

We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday and ended up being extremely disappointed; we waited ages for our food to arrive and when it finally did, one dish had a big plastic piece in it, which, needless to say, violates all hygiene standards. After raising this issue with the waitor, he removed the plastic and returned the dish without offering us a discount or a small dish on the house as would have been the case in any decent restaurant. Another friend of mine who is vegetarian ordered vegetarian lasagne but was brought a meat version. Everyone finished their meal by the time the original veggie version was brought to the table.As far as food is concerned, it was not of very good quality, not to mention it was lukewarm and incredibly overpriced.Service charge was added to our bill which we asked to be removed because the service was terrible and there was no sensible reason for us to pay extra for something that was not delivered. We've been told it's impossible to remove the service charge and we had to pay it although we were not happy with the service. They told us the manager was away and there was no one we could speak to about our unsatisfactory experience. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Comí aquí ayer. Tuvimos una gran comida cada uno. Tenía Penne Pollo, que estaba llena de sabor y parecía que nunca terminaba, pero disfruté cada bocado. Mi amiga tenía una lasaña vegetariana que le gustaba a ella también. Lo único es que las bebidas son muy pequeñas por el precio que tienen.

Curiosamente, mi compañero disfrutó del desayuno aquí, pero me sentí totalmente decepcionado. Cómo me hubiera gustado haber consultado a Trip Advisor, pero la idea de un desayuno al aire libre en una soleada mañana de domingo era demasiado para resistir.Fuimos por el inglés completo. Todos nuestros cuatro huevos se habían roto durante la cocción, ¡así que no es posible mojarlos! Las salchichas tenían un sabor bastante barato y desagradable y no había mantequilla para la tostada, aunque una de mis rebanadas parecía haber perdido más o menos la tostadora. Deberíamos habernos ofrecido ketchup / salsa que podría haberlo hecho saber más sabroso. Con nuestros tés, 25 para dos. No es tan sombrío como el buffet del Travelodge, pero sí esperábamos algo mejor teniendo en cuenta que estaba recién cocinado. Realmente te aconsejaría que camines por allí.

Fuimos a desayunar, ya que el menú tenía buen aspecto, gran error, no tocino, así que se reemplazaron por otros dos bajo los huevos fritos "jelly white", no había mantequilla para tostadas y todo se amontonaba en el centro del plato. ir a un restaurante italiano para un inglés completo, evitar a toda costa

Prezzo caro e cibo pessimo, da evitare sicuramente. Andrebbe rinnovato in tutto e per tutto. Di Italiano ci sono solo alcune persone, ma la cucina non può definirsi tale. Bagno scomodo da accedere.

Worst food I had in UK,dirty place, bad and unprofessional staff.. Dont lose your time and dont even try it.

All looked good as we looked at the menu as most tables where occupied and the spiel from 'catcher' persuaded us to try this restuarant. Big mistake! Once we had ordered and recieved our meals there was no follow up from Staff to check that everything was to our satisfaction! The pizza I ordered was had burnt edges, not just singed but burnt!! Then when we asked for the bill they had the audacity to include 12.5% Service Charge, apparantley this is standard at this restuarant.

Sadly, this was an experience I’d like to try and forget.

We stopped here for drinks and cake. My partner ordered Peroni and a dash of lemonade, which sadly was flat and warm. I ordered a pot of tea and piece of carrot cake. We had to ask for milk with the tea as this had been forgotten. Bizzarely, the cake was heated up in microwave and arrived with melting layers that were sliding off as it was placed in front of me. I’m not sure why this was done - perhaps frozen? We paid £15 and really regretted our choice of cafe. Very disappointing!! Did provide us with a laugh but definitely to be avoided if you are looking for half decent food and drink!

PLEASE AVOID!!! 12.5% service charge....ok I could understand had we been given excellent customer service however, our starters and mains arrived together. I discussed this matter with the manager which fobbed us off saying apparently that's how they do service! So I had to rush my food in order to avoid my main going cold! Apparently this is standard...

We were looking for a place to eat and were walking passed when the doorman called out to us to look at his menu. He told us how great the food was and said it was better than Garfunkels across the street where we'd been looking. He was complimenting us and laughing with us, being all friendly and showed us a set lunch menu of £7.95 with a soft drink for an extra £1. One of the young members of the party was very hungry and liked the doorman so was keen to go in, but later regretted his decision. He chose the fish and chips where the fish was obviously frozen with hard and overcooked batter. The fish was rubbery and yellow. The other people in the group had; prosciutto pizza which seemed to be the only decent meal out of them all. A mushroom risotto, which was bland and stodgy, and a spaghetti carbonara, where the waiter covered the dish with too much Parmesan and the sauce was too thick. Also, the lemonade we had ordered to drink was very watery and didn't taste like 7up which they had said it was. When coming to pay, they tried to charge us full price for the soft drinks but did apologise and alter the bill when bought to their attention. As with other reviewers, we were surprised to see an unexpected service charge. Even though the waiter was pleasant, would definitely not recommend and advise others to steer well clear!

Waiting for 3/4 hour for the wrong starter to turn up which was only garlic bread and bruschetta !!!! At that point paid for over priced drinks and left...waste of my time and money!!!!

Fui con mi amigo el viernes pasado, estábamos buscando un postre. Miramos a través de la ventana y nos dijeron que miráramos adentro, dos de los trabajadores nos estaban metiendo en el tren y una vez adentro cerraron la puerta. Dijeron que los postres eran frescos de esta mañana. Pedimos pastel de zanahoria y tarta de queso y chocolate caliente. Bebimos el chocolate caliente, pero dejamos los postres como estaban rancios. No se pudo tomar fotos como nos vieron como un halcón! Bebimos y pagamos y nos fuimos. No tenía sentido quejarme ya que sentíamos que éramos vulnerables ya que uno de los miembros del personal hizo que mi amigo se sintiera incómodo con su charla. Nunca más, no me sorprendió que estuvieran callados un viernes.

As we walked by we noticed quite a few people eating .... we looked at the menu outside and were told how good the food was by one of the waiters! Well I'm going to be honest here.... the food was bland...edible but not particularly good, in fact nothing to remember! The toilets were disgusting, the staff untidy, basic drinks very overpriced even considering the area .... and a service charge of 12.5% added was compulsory..

We went to Rosso Italiano as it is now called last night. The food was ok but when our bill came they had added a 25% service charge! I asked for it to be removed as I wasn’t happy laying such a high gratuity for what was actually appealing service and average food, and was told that I had to pay it and there was no option to remove it. This is not right, a gratuity is not compulsory. The food is overpriced and forcing people to pay such ludicrous tips is daylight robbery

i literally made this account to complain about this horrible place situated in the heart of london’s theatre district. i think it goes by another name now, but at least when you google it, this tripadvisor page comes up.

£12.95 for 2 courses is an ok price but to then add on 10% service charge for just 2 people dining is a bit much. Pizza was good though & even though we had the 2 course meal deal, portion sizes were good. Place is in need of a clean and refurb. Toilets weren't in great condition (See photo of ladies toilet door!). Sitting outside was nice location to watch the tourists go by. Staff were friendly. We wouldn't go again as there's plenty of other choice nearby.

Esta tiene que ser la peor comida que mi familia y yo hemos tenido en Londres. Éramos 10 en total y no teníamos más remedio que sentarnos afuera con calentadores, no había lugar para que un grupo tan grande se sentara adentro. Nuestra factura llegó a más de 200 con un cargo por servicio que habían agregado a la factura, ciertamente no les habría dejado una propina, debieron haber estado frotándose las manos cuando nos vieron buscando un lugar para comer bajo la lluvia torrencial.

Posiblemente la peor experiencia de restaurante que he tenido. En primer lugar, el personal es extremadamente engañoso. Lo solicitan con “pan” o aperitivos gratis, pero cuando llegó la factura, afirmaron que nunca se ofreció. Vinimos alrededor de las 9:00 y pedimos un narguile con nuestra comida. Era caro, pero pensé que podríamos sentarnos y fumar por un tiempo. Les tomó cerca de 30 minutos hacerlo, bien. Nos trajeron nuestra comida unos 2 minutos después. ¿Quién va a comer y fumar al mismo tiempo? Pero lo que sea. Luego, un miembro del personal molesto literalmente se sentó en nuestra mesa tratando de coquetear con mi amigo y yo durante toda nuestra comida. Sí, se sentó en la silla a mi lado y me vio comer. Qué incómodo. El verdadero truco es cuando nos apresuraron y trajeron la cuenta antes de que incluso toquemos el narguile. Obviamente no habría ordenado algo que no podría sentarme y disfrutar. Rudamente lo tomaron literalmente de mi boca. Cuando expresamos nuestra infelicidad con el servicio y dijimos que no queríamos pagar por el narguile, no pudimos fumar, el gerente o el camarero TOMARON NUESTROS TELÉFONOS DE TELÉFONO DE LA MESA Y HABLAMOS CON ELLOS. . . . Esto fue tan poco profesional y extraño que ni siquiera puedo comenzar a explicar. Afortunadamente, la policía estaba conduciendo y, finalmente, después de discutir con ellos y este lunático manejando este infierno, finalmente pagué solo para salir de la situación. Era mediocre y la comida está por debajo de la media. También me costó alrededor de $ 70 y NO TOMAMOS A BEBER ALCOHOL. The restaurant said its name was Rosso Italiano and it was an Italian restaurant. However, the credit card bill, same address, said La Chandell so who knows. This place is convenient, bright on Leicester Square but the best part was the host who really encouraged you to come in. Bad mistake. Service was somewhere between nonexistent and poor. The food was tasteless. I never had a beef lasagna like this one and my wife's Spaghetti Bolognese was almost unrecognizable.

It was raining heavy so myself and my friend wanted somewhere quiet for a coffee. No drink prices on menu outside. Just so you know £3.10 for a 500ml plastic bottle sparking water. And £3.10 for a latte. Not even comparable. And 12.5% added on top. This restaurant is struggling money and customer wise. The restaurant inspector and food hygiene ratings inspector needed urgently here. Enter at your own peril!

Went to this place to celebrate anniversary working here in UK, was told by the waiter/ manager upfront outside the restaurant that the wine is for free if we order. I asked what is their best seller and he answered fish and chips. We got seated. I ordered rib steak, and my girlfriend ordered spicy chicken. We were served wine as per his offer at the beginning. He asked immediately "white wine or red". Thinking it was free, we said two red wines. Dinner was served after 10 minutes of waiting. To be fair they have nice lighting and nice frames on walls, and food was delicious. When we finished eating, the bill stated those wines weren't for free. I questioned this, his face suddenly changed from welcoming to blunt stern look, saying its not free. It' only free if we ordered fish and chips. For real???? The best marketing strategy Ive offered to in ages. The best deceiving form of persuasion. Please find another restaurant. Thank you.

Ate here for dinner with our family. Staff were friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices. Perhaps the toilets need refurbishment but they were clean and ok.

We went to la Chandelle (now Italiano Rosso) where we drawn in by the chairs outside and it’s pleasant looks. we also were told it was a starter and main for a reasonable £12.95. When we got inside it was clear we’d been had.

I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend but very unfortunately my experience there is horrible.food and service quality below 1star.perhaps worse dinner I ever had in recent past. Extremely disappointing meal hammered our evening. Avoid this awkward restaurant :(

I love pizza but this place almost put me off for life..... Base was thick, mushrooms appeared to be out of a tin... It was awful.. Never again... Expected far better in Leicester Square...also the toilets were awful and too near the kitchen

Stopped here for a cup of tea and slice of cake post afternoon theatre trip. Wish we hadn't bothered. Tea was fine but the carrot cake was horrible, underneath the unpleasant icing was a rather stale and bland cake. At £19.80 for 2 x cups of tea and 2 slices of cake, I expected at least a decent slice of cake even allowing for London prices. Avoid there are plenty of other places to choose from.

Horrible microwaved food, pizza was so salty I had to leave it, my partners lasagne was defiantly microwaved then they had the cheek to add 10% service charge automatically. Stay away from this place there far nicer places to eat in this part of town.

Visited this restaurant end of September 2018, the service was not great and all three of didn't enjoy the food. Bieng in a prime location such as Trafalgur Square expected better.

Visited with a friend. She ordered spinach and ricotta ravioli, when her food arrived it turned out to be a meat tortellini! When we spoke to staff they said they forgot to tell us about the change and said they would charge us £14 instead of £17! We didn’t pay for it. The carbonara tasted like a microwave meal.

Unforgettable is the only way that I can describe this experience! My companion and I were visiting London and were staying close to Piccadilly. We decided on Dinner & to look for a restuarant with outside seating, it being such a lovely evening .Lo and behold we turned the corner into Irving Street, off Leicester Square and saw 'La Chandelle' which is now called Rosso Italiano and were beckoned by the 'concierge,' who is probably the best part of this restaurant. We were seated at our table and then waited. It came to a point where we nearly got up and left, but endured.After ordering our meal which took a considerable amount of time, it came to the table luke warm! I have actually tasted better food at a truck stop in the Australian outback than what was produced here. I could go on but the food, service and overall ambience was terrible. I shall not be visiting this restaurant again and my advice would be to give it a wide berth !!!

My mum and I went to Rossõ for dinner and it was the worse meal we have ever had. That it ruined our day out to London! We were looking at the menu, and I noticed how expensive the food was, I mean £14.95 for a BBQ chicken pizza! When one of the staff came over and said today we have an offer- a starter and main for £12.95. So we thought we would give it ago. What a big mistake that was! We ordered our food and drinks (tap water) with no problem. However are starters arrived cheesy garlic bread on a bed of rocket, which I thought a bit odd. I received 4 slices of garlic bread and my mum only had 3, the bread was only slightly cooked, if that at all. Our water had still not come when we had finished our starters, so we had to ask again for it. Main dishes arrived, I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, it was very basic, spaghetti in a sauce that had an odd taste to it and a few bits of what looked like ham with thick fat on it! No seasoning or spices in the dish, tasted bland. My mum ordered the beef lasagne and the dish was cold, and the sauce was a very artificial orange colour, again very bland tasting. The lasagne looked like a cheap frozen ready meal. Had to ask for Parmesan to be grated on, as was not offered, but when the waiter came back with the Parmesan, it was pre-grated packet Parmesan.

This was the worst meal I have ever had at any restaurant. There were four of us in the party. None of us could finish our meals. The poor host was charming. The service was bad. How many more pejoratives can I add.

Male staff Terrible attitude TOILETS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING does London licensing and Food Hygene EVER carry out inspections ? These are the Worst toilets in London

The sign above the restaurant says Rosso Italiano, not La Chandelle anymore. We ordered a salad and spaghetti. The salad was completely soaked like someone ran all the lettuce under water and never rinsed it. The mozzarella tasted like it was just defrosted. There was literally no flavor. The sauce on the spaghetti clearly came out of a can. We told the waiter to take it all back but we were still charged the full meal. We ended up going next door to Piccola Italia for a fantastic meal.

My husband and i went there for lunch and hookah(shisha). We ordered 1 spaghetti carbonara, 1 burger, 1 water, 1 hookah.

Some of the reviews of this place a very harsh....we had breakfast the other morning and overall is was fine.

This place has been renamed Ross's. Poor food in small helpings and service was terrible. Over priced rubbish.

Terrible service and extremely overpriced excuse for "food". Espresso came all sprayed out in a coffee cup(!) Asked to pay, was told to wait and then the person in charge continued doing other things such as clearing our table, taking payments from other customers all while ignoring our request. Adding insult to injury they charge an additional 12.5% service charge. Service!?

Ordered cheese and beans on toast and smoked salmon and scrambled egg. Both were average to good. Reasonable portions. Not outstanding service, but the breakfast was fine and the staff friendly. They did add a 12.5% service to the bill that was advertised on the menu.

Tuvimos una comida fantástica aquí el miércoles en la noche. Todo el personal era encantador y no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros. Más que feliz de dejar que nos sentarse afuera con nuestro perro. La comida era genial y los cócteles eran acertadas. Tienen la mejor pinta de Guinness en Londres. El único inconveniente era el servicio ya que creo que esto supondría un montón de gente de personal dejando una propina para el personal genial merece. Definitivamente vale la pena visitar si sólo quieres una comida decente de buena abundante, suponiendo que la comida. Perfecto, gracias.

Siamo stati "ingannati"dal menú esposto all'esterno che indicava la loro cucina come ITALIANA....niente di più falso!!Il cameriere che ci ha preso la comanda è stato arrogante e maleducato e c'era,a mio avviso,pochissima organizzazione tra i camerieri.Il nostro tavolo si affacciava all'interno del locale e abbiamo assistito ad una scena a dir poco raccapricciante:una cameriera ha voluto "aiutare"la collega al bar che non arrivava a prendere i bicchieri più in alto quindi è montata IN PIEDI SUL BANCONE,ha afferrato i bicchieri ed ha continuato tranquillamente col suo lavoro non curante che su quello stesso BANCONE la cucina poggiava i piatti che uscivano poi in sala.Per non parlare del cibo,dire prossimo è un'eufemismo!"bruschetta aglio,olio e pomodoro.....in realtà pane da toast con sopra tocchi di cipolla e peperoni come se il cliente non se ne accorgesse!Pasta carbonara portata scotta e fatta con panna e prosciutti cotto....totale scontrino?!2 antipasti,1 primo e 2 bottigliette d'acqua 40£ casa.ORRIBILE SCANDALOSO E SPORCO!!!!!

Me and my two friends went there for breakfast. First of all we ordered Coca Cola as stated on the menu, to then receive Pepsi Max in a Coca Cola glass - when we asked the waitress she rudely told us they don’t sell Coke, so why do they have it on the menu and the glasses? I had also ordered a tea which I didn’t receive (despite asking 2 more times for it) until I’d finished my food. When our food came out it wasn’t as we had ordered and the waitress was again rude. The ‘toast’ was just warm bread and we had to ask for butter several times. My friend ordered bacon, scrambled egg and cheese, on toast, to receive a cheese and bacon toastie with rock hard chips (which hadn’t even been asked for). We refused to pay service charge and didn’t leave a tip. Despite all this there was one lovely waitress called Rosie who apologised and was very friendly.

Well after hunting about finding somewhere to go was grateful of somewhere to eat. It wasn’t bad. Wasn’t too dear for London. But staffs English is so poor food orders were wrong. When I told waitress she just took it away and that was it. !! No offers to correct order etc. Anyway in the end while friends were eating approached the manager and he put it right. Got the right food and all sorted. Very pleasant but I think maybe the waitress could do with some study on English language and table etiquette. But above that, all good. FAO Manager keep up the customer relations..... it pays dividends

Este restaurante debe depender de los turistas ya no volvería. El servicio era mediocre y personal simplemente no importaba. Pedimos unos entrantes y pizzas. Por el momento los entrantes había llegado nuestras bebidas estaban terminados. No tome un pedir bebidas. Cuando llamamos a la camarera sobre ella tomó una orden para una copa y parecía molestarle cuando llamé así para poder pedir bebidas, a pesar de los vasos estaban claramente vacía.

We made an extremely bad decision and would like to stop others making the same - DO NOT eat in this establishment - it's awful. Continue across the road, towards Covent Garden where you are spoilt for choice.

La razón de por qué este restaurante tiene un pobre desayuno inglés es porque el cargo tan poco por lo que la calidad de los productos es muy pobre. £8 por un desayuno completo es ridículo. Las judías eran muy negativos. Así, creo que deberíamos haber buscado otro mejor. La próxima vez seguro.

Awful service, food was okay and reasonably priced but staff member was rude when I declined to pay the service charge added to the bill. Avoid if in a rush and don't want to pay a tip for a bad service.

A total rip-off place, maybe even a scam? The English breakfast here is of extremely low quality: boiled wrinkled soft skin sausage (from a glass, Aldi or Lidl?) seems several days old. Dry, not toasted toast, like a cardboard, soggy mushrooms from a can or glass, heated but not fried, hash browns from the freezer, baked beans from a can (I guess that's the only item on the plate the couldn't destroy), fried eggs overdone, but not hot. On top of that they charge you 12,5 % "discretionary" extra for an absent service. Don't even think of going here. Waist of you time, money and appetite. 0 stars if possible.

The restaurant is well presented and has a reasonable food menu, but a very restricted wine list (two whites, two reds, a Champagne and a few beers and spirits).

Not much to say. The kitchen didn’t set the bar very high for themselves, the food left a lot to hope for. The salad was fresh, though. Don’t expect much from the pizza.

Service was lovely - however the food was appalling. Anyone could cook a better meal at home. No one in the party wanted to kick up a fuzz so paid the full bill however it felt like an ultimate rip off. Food is nothing special and in fact my prawn spaghetti was appalling - prawns appeared "furry" and the sauce tasted nothing like described on the menu someone in the party also had a pizza which was less than supermarket standard and certainly not worth the £10 price tag! There is so many nicer places to dine in London so please do not bother. If you really want to improve your business, image, food & reputation I recommend you guys hire a new chef or just simply give up because apart from your lovely waiting on staff there is nothing to cheer about this place.

So at first. Looked empty. But gave it a go. Ordered 2 lattes, 1 apple juice and 2 tap water. Never got the tap water. Daughters juice was left on bar so she had to go get herself. Ordered some food. Don’t do kids meals but made do. 2 adults food came out and my 8 year old had to wait around 7/8 minutes for her burger and chips. I had eggs and salmon “on toast” wasn’t exactly on toast as you can see in the picture. Wasn’t given any butter for the lightly toasted bread. My mum ordered the fish and chips. She said was nice but working in the food environment looked over done to me. Then we see the reviews and thought people over reacted but when my mums apple crumble came out the waitress said was last price I tasted some. Was soggy. No crumble. All in all the food brought out was like at home after a night out. Could have done a better job. If I would have used the toilet before I ordered I wouldn’t have ate there. No lock on ladies. Kitchen next door. Was going to get picture of the kitchen but waitress appeared.we also didn’t have to pay service charge and the waitress said she didn’t care as she doesn’t see any of it. Thinks the manager keeps it all to himself as he also tells her she can’t accept cash tips. Little dodgy and not a great team member for his position. Wouldn’t go here again. Had a bitter taste in my mouth when I left

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and the waitress was at first friendly until she took our order. after moved from our first table due to the draft and the door remained open. We went for the 2 course for 9.95 seemed like good value but the taste was average and oily. the mushroom soup was swimming in oil and half way through she gave our second course when we weren't ready for it. she was more focused in staying outside talking than giving custom. the teas were ridiculously expensive-3.90 for a pot of tea. in hindsight we should of gone to the restaurant opposite.

My wife and I eat here to night During our 1st night in London we had the fish-and-chips And also the special. House or had hot chocolate hands my wife had mocha. We felt that the food is very good and the service was great

Quaint little cafe/restuarant very reasonable prices good (considering the prime location) service not freshly caught fish (possibly birds eye) but acceptable/ enjoyable. Drinks were included in the price of meal

Had 3 of the lunch specials (6.99£) - Fish and Chips, Lasagna, and Margherita Pizza. All were fresh and good in taste. The service was decent too. They added a 12.5% service charge, which was unexpected. All in all decent fare for Leicester Square.

No attention paid to their customers, one of them was even flirting with whom I believe is a regular (can't understand why since good was pretty much inedible) and that service charge? Outrageous.

Me and my mum stopped there for cup of soup and couple of drinks as rain was about to start. We ordered two portions of wild mushroom soup, cup of tea and one cider. Nothing else. Soup looked like water with just a few slices of mushrooms and two cubes of potatoes... absolutely tasteless! Service was very poor, the waitress didn't pay any attention on us(but service charge was included in our bill). I payed £20,59. Would never recommend it to anyone-bad food, expensive and poor service

We ate a lunch there when we walked in Leyster Square area. Not bad fish & chips. The hamburger could be better. Good wine and cyder. Good value for lunch in this area.

Through circumstances beyond our control we had to bring our dog with us on a trip to London. We stopped to eat here as they have outside seating. The staff were very helpful and accommodating with my daughter and our dog sitting outside the restaurant. Prices are very reasonable and they have a set two course menu for £9.95. I got the brushetta and Chicken Milanese. We also ordered the carbonara and classic burger with chips. All our food was lovely and we were arguing over who had the nicest food. Would recommend.

Accommodated quickly on a busy sat eve in July. This does not say anything bad about restaurant. Staff are organised and efficient. Food is served hot and in good time. Prices for area are OK. Meal for 4 with drink £60 . just beware of the 12% service charge that's not pointed out

We stopped in for the £5 cocktails - we should have known that this place was not a hidden gem, but wow were those drinks bad. They were firstly made by a waitress who was certainly under 18, and the midouri sours were just lemonade, whilst the Long Island ice tea and the cosmopolitan were undrinkable - they tasted of pure vodka. The staff were also really unwilling to seat people inside even though it was torrential rain? The whole thing was very weird. This is a tourist trap looking to sell as many portions of fish and chips as possible, so don't bother.

De passage à Londres en famille, nous voulions absolument tester un fish & chips. Nous sommes arrivés devant la Chandelle, bien situé au coeur des restaurants de Piccadilly, attirés par la rabatteuse et l'affiche "fish & chips + soft drink - 9.95 £", un prix très correct pour un resto londonien un dimanche soir. A ce prix là, il ne faut pas s'attendre à de la grande cuisine, et ce n'est pas ce que nous recherchions. Néanmoins, serveur très agréable et fish & chips correct, très apprécié de mes enfants. Surprise néanmoins au moment du paiement où il faut ajouter 12.5 % pour le service.

Ate here for breakfast the first day we arrived. We were hungry after an early morning flight and we were really disappointed. Waited over half an hour to get two full English breakfast. The tea came out straight away which was then cold when our food came. When our food came the mushrooms had a weird taste, the eggs were not cooked and then there was no butter for our toast. Was not a good experience and would not recommend it

We were hungry and needed a place quickly. We were lured in by their dinner specials. The food was decent but the price was great. Our service was fine. My teens like the food but my wife did not like the spaghetti. I had fish and chips. It was really nothing special but the employees were very nice.

Off all the places to choose for breakfast in London I had the misfortune to choose this one. The writing should have been on the wall with the service. The young waitress was disinterested, unsmiling and slow. Having made the order we had to ask again for water and milk for the tea. When the breakfast arrived it was missing the advertised mushrooms. When we asked where they were we were told there weren't any and that they had been replaced. When I said they weren't I was offered a hash brown. Which I refused. The sausage was pale mush and not a sausage as we know it! The toast was cold and pale whilst the 2 pats of butter for 4 slices were completely melted on arrival and had to be replaced. There was no brown sauce but were offered tomato sauce or mayonnaise. Tomato sauce fair enough but mayonnaise with an English breakfast? To add insult to injury they add12.5 % service charge to the bill. Obviously as it is the only way they would get tips given the standard of food and service! Do not go here. You have been warned!

Went with a friend for lunch. Had pizza and soft drinks. There was someone trying to get customers in off the street and doing a good job. Came quickly to take an order and drinks came quickly too. Food was just as we ordered and was cooked well. Good service and friendly staff.

Just the worst. Terrible customer service. One person was doing all the work while the "manager" was on her cell phone having a conversation that everyone in the restaurant and on the street could hear. One person's food came and two of our party waited. She completely missed our order. Stay away.

La Chandelle is definitely one of the worst places I have ever been in London! We have been there because we had a limited time before our flight and all the other places in the neighbourhood asked us to wait at least half an hour for a table. But we should have questioned why La Chandelle was so empty while all the other places were extremely busy.First of all, despite sitting outside, a horrible smell of oil stick on our clothes and hair after half an hour. We asked the waitress what will be served in the shortest time possible and ordered burger and fish and chips accordingly. Fish and chips was so bad that my friend could not get more than one bite. It was soaking oil which he could not remove even after pressing hardly with his fork.Thus, he just left it on the plate. My burger was another disaster story. Bread was old, breaking into pieces in every bite and meat ball was tasteless. I have no idea how they did it but it was soaking oil despite still being a bit frozen. Despite that, I was so hungry and did not have time to eat for the next few hours, so I tried to eat it. After a few bites, I saw a human hair on my potatoes and that was the end of our meal!Drinks were also as horrible as our meals since cokes were not canned and were nothing but water with lots of sugar in it, no bubbles, no taste of coke, nothing.And for this horrible experience, we were charged 12,5% for the service. I don't think that anyone is going to La Chandelle after reading here. They run their business with people who can not find a table in other places in the neighbourhood and thus just ignore the quality of food and service. Charging 12,5% also makes sense for them since they are making a fool of the customers with the food and service, thus know that noone will tip for such a horrible meal.As a result, I strongly recommend you to stay away from this place if you don't want to pay for nothing and feel fooled!

We stopped at La Chandelle near Leicester Square for a quick cocktail in the early afternoon while mooching around London. Unfortunately they could not make my first choice of cocktail as they had no sparkling wine. My second choice 'sex on the beech' just tasted of peaches and had a piece of orange with a mini umbrella in the top - the orange looked as though it had been recycled from many times before. My husbands Guinness tasted fine. We sat outside under the canopy - unfortunately this is where the extractor fan blows the kitchen smells and smoke and every so often the smoke and smell of grease bellowed out. We won't be going back.

Tried to stop in for lunch, most of the menu was "unavailable". No burgers even after we ordered, no calimari. Slow disorganized service

La Chandelle - so klingend der Name, so unterirdisch die Küche. Literally! Denn die Küche befindet sich im Kellergeschoss neben den Toiletten.Essen sollte man auf keinen Fall hier. Und wer ein Bier möchte, kriegt leider nur ein abgestandenes Lager.Ich gebe nur 2 Punkte für den Umstand, dass das Servicepersonal nett war.

Don't bother with this restaurant. We opted for the set menu which was a starter and a main and the waitress wanted to serve them both together. When we explained that that wouldn't work because the main dish would be cold by the time we came to eat it she reluctantly agreed. She then came back with starter and mains together! My salad was smothered with salad cream (not advised on the menu) and I was met with a blank stare when I politely requested it be changed.The waitress was the most surly person I've ever met and snatched the plate away with a sigh. She then returned with a reheated salmon dish, awful!, and completely ignored our concerns. Avoid like the plague

How do you get toast wrong!!! Eggs undercooked, tomato not cooked at all, tinned mushrooms, dread to think what was in the sausage. Toast that had never seen a toaster. I'd have given it zero if it was an option.

First of all waitresses walking around in their coats serving customers and then I was given hot milk with my tea which was odd.Then came the breakfast, the sausage was the worst part, cheap and white in colour, didn't look cooked and I doubt it contained any pork, eggs looked like they had been run over, soggy hash brown, tinned slimy mushrooms. Both me & my husband refused to eat it, one waitress offered to replace it but we just wanted to leave. We are not fussy people but this breakfast made me feel sick, it really looked gross and I had no doubt we would have been ill if we had consumed it.We paid for our drinks and got out of there... no apology from the staff.

Only called in for a drink to get out of the rain. Made as welcome as if we were there for dinner! Excellent Pinot Grigio.

Nipped into this "restaurant" because it was empty (should have realised why) and ordered fish and chips and a burger. All of the food is obviously frozen. Fish was tasteless, soggy. Batter the same. Chips were barely even cooked and covered in grease on both meals, which is very difficult to do. I suspect they were oven chips thrown in a fryer. Burger was similar sadly. A tasteless frozen patty in a roll with a tomato on top. Real shame because it's a great location. It was also £2.95 for a glass of coke.

Tried the £6.95 lunch special - fish and chips. If you are keen on a frozen piece of battered fish and chips then this is just the place. They cook it and deliver it to your table, all the convenience of a frozen meal without the hassle of cooking it yourself. Now i am only assuming it was frozen, if not even worse. If you want a decent cooked meal then look elsewhere, anywhere would probably be better.Oh and then the cheek to add a service charge, what was the service, opening the freezer?
