Very nice food and the staff is super friendly I recommend everyone to try it

I had a very bizarre and odd experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was empty and cold, with sterile and basic décor. Despite my sister's praises about the food being well-priced, I found it to be average at best. The prawn starter was basic and the corn-fed chicken with chips was nothing to write home about. The seasoning was sharp and left a strange sensation in my mouth. However, the saving grace of the night was our waitress, Bruna. She was friendly, attentive, and truly the life of the restaurant. Despite the lack of customers, she made us feel welcome and took great care of us. We ended up staying longer than planned, enjoying multiple jugs of sangria and other drinks. To my shock and disappointment, I later found out that Bruna had been fired for "talking too much." This decision seemed unjust and heartless, especially considering she was the only staff member who seemed to care about the guests. The restaurant lacked any music or atmosphere, making it a depressing place to dine. I can't help but feel that there were racist undertones at play here, as the restaurant seemed to be trying to cater to a specific audience. Treating a young, hardworking employee like Bruna in such a manner is unacceptable. It's clear that this establishment is not a fine dining restaurant, even though they are obviously straining to be and I am horrified by the way they treated someone who went above and beyond to make our night enjoyable. Shame on them for ruining what could have been a pleasant experience and be warned they obviously have no respect or care about their staff.

Fab little restaurant, great service and food was good. What I loved about La Casita, is that it is down to earth, unpretentious and good value for money. We had a very nice lunch, I am defo going back.

Here Ferreira Jo, in my words about la casita, and at the same time lol trying to be formal in my messages, I say with all sincerity that I love "La casita" and I say this not as a tourist or anything like that, but rather as someone who He even lives here in London, and from time to time he visits this place. "LA CASITA" is one of the most comfortable restaurants in Streatham, and the employees, from their own experience, always try to be as friendly as possible, and I personally have rarely had a reason to complain, so for the first time, I want to make it clear, I I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO CHECK OUT "LA CASITA" 🥰❤

Food really good, especially their paella, said for two people , there was enough for 3 people, which we did have some leftovers , lamb cutlets, 4pieces for one person,. Staff very friendly, nothing was rushed, great atmosphere, First time visit, highly recommend. All in alll a good place, 3/2/24.

They do fantastic garlic mushrooms, a really good tricalore salad and a superb pizza. This place is even great just for a coffee and superb Portuguese desserts. They have a really lovely and peaceful atmosphere in the restaurant.

I would never go there again, I booked a table on line and traveled all the way there. I showered the waiter and the man my booking they then said that they do not have the booking even though I had proof of the booking. The restaurant was empty and all the tables where free. They then said they can not seat us. This was because of my colour as a white family had went in after me and got seated. I have never felt so disrespected in my life, if they do not want to cater to coloured people then they should not have a restaurant in the middle of streatham. This is shocking !!!!!

Just popped in to see if they did a sandwich to take out. I jad the most delicious, tasty grilled chicken and salad on a toasted panini. Soooo good. It may not look like a sandwich bar but they do!!! Thoroughly recommend.

Allways a pleasure to be in this Restaurant for us is one of our favorite. the seafood the steaks kids menus absolutely amazing we did our daughter last birthday party and they take care of everything for us. highly recomend!!!!!!5 stars service and food

I regularly visit this restaurant with my father and son. We have always really enjoyed the food and the relaxed vibe. My father was impressed with the lunch meal deal which is great value for money. Main meal & a glass of wine for around £10.

I came today because friends told me that food was delicious plus big portions… not at all! The mix meats we requested (2 people) was so small and horrible that we are very disappointed. Not true what good reviews say about food. Regarding staff, I just can say that 2 boys were ok but the skinny girl was rude and didn’t care the customer… maybe she’s the owner of the place… Anyway, we’ll take our money to another place.

I ordered Salmon, would have tasted great but skin was slightly burnt. Also would have liked some Potatoes.

Good place. And nice food. But the espetada was very poor and small portion. Even the salad was old. But the deserts was perfect.

I really love La Casita restaurant in streatham, original desserts, good quality food, I prefer eating there than order, sometimes the delivery company commits errors with the order and it's not the restaurant fault or responsibility

I was really disappointed when visiting La casita yesterday. We went as a group were constantly told they were closing at 10 ( when they actually run until 11pm) we were rushed throughout our meal and to be honest the food was also a very big let down. I ordered the salmon that was very very crispy on the outside and still undercooked on the inside. This came served with what was supposed to be sauteed vegetables, but got served boiled carrots broccoli and peas with watery garlic mush. It was not the first time I visited but I am certainly not coming back.

Starters were served on ash trays. The staff was rude. I asked for boneless fish and the waiter stormed off and served my a fish with bones. Chicken was raw and I genuinely threw up outside the restaurant. Nothing positive to say. Never going again after my appalling experience.

Good place to rendezvous for brunch or lunch with friends from afar. Enjoyed our selection of tapas, even though one of us had just come back from Malaga. Fine coffee, also.

Margarita pizza was top tier 👌🏽

I used to live in Streatham and loved coming here for the lunch menu when working from home. I've moved area to Kennington but still love going Streatham. I hadn't been to this wonderful restaurant for few years but popped in few weeks ago, the food is still amazing and the staff are always attentive and polite. I went again yesterday and was not disappointed. Love the lunch menu as it's usually me on my own, the fact you get a really nice glass of wine with the meal always makes me want after dinner luxury drink, Irish coffee without the cream was sublime. My favourite restaurant to treat myself by myself.

I’m really disappointed with my visit today at this restaurant. I’ve been here already (when the owner was in) and I never complained about anything as everything has been always delicious. But this time We ordered “carne de porco alentejana” And was tasting of bad meat, all fat, soggy potatoes, no clams, just 5 of them which 4 of them were empty. Plus the waiters didn’t even care about costumer service or check back, we didn’t even been asked how was our meal. Same when we finished to eat no one asked how everything went. I will not come back anymore

Very attentive friendly staff, ate here twice now and the first time the food was amazing, had bitoque, went back again for the same and the meat was definitely different quality. The place just lacks atmosphere.

Food was okay but I got charged £4.50 for a little plate containing 4 boiled, baby potatoes. Seemed excessive.

Streatham is blessed with some very good quality restaurants and I rate La Casita right up there with the rest. The Mediterranean themed restaurant serves classic Portuguese and Spanish dishes such as garlic prawns and seafood paella. The service is warm and friendly, and makes you feel that you're at home.

This Portuguese restaurant is one of the better restaurants in Streatham. For such a busy place, there are not a lot of good choices. We had a selection of starters and the whitebait stood out for me. We had a generous helping of spaghetti carbonara, the rack of lamb cutlet, piri chicken and I have Portuguese steak with a fried egg. The sizes were generous but the fries were slightly greasy although crispy. Worth a visit if you don't want any thrills.

Extremely expensive for the quality off food and service! There’s better and much cheaper restaurants than this ! I highly recommend to do for a meal at la casita and don’t order carbonara in case you eat there ! For me was the first time and the last

I placed an order via uber eats lastnight with my partner for 2x beef espetadas the amount of chips you sent was enormous 3x boxs obviously trying to make up for the little amount of meat and the quality was a joke wish id taken a picture and for an order that is over £50 it's ridiculous really felt upset and ripped off i even called lastnight and spoke to a guy who didn't even care and and a terrible attitude I've eaten in the restaurant with my family plenty of times and order from you guys so I know what to expect this place has really gone down hill since covid

We have been coming to La Casita for years, the food and the staff are always first class, but the great thing about it as well is the people who use it. Tonight there was a family sat opposite us and the they were great the youngsters kept us smiling all night 👍

We ordered steak meal i asked for well done steak was raw supposed to be well done, I was offered fish dish instead fish was ok but vegetables were tasteless will definitely not be going back there was waste of money.

This was my second meal at La Casita. The staff were lovely and attentive. Pasta was OK but needed a little more spice for me. Desert was lovely and when I mentioned needing extra cream they were more than willing to oblige. My only criticism is the decor needs warming up. I would go back again.

The paella wasn’t all that, didn’t have the greatest flavour overpriced for sure and not worth the price.

Had breakfast out and friend suggested here. The service was friendly and professional with a touch of fancy. I'm not a fine dining connoisseur but you got a little extra for your money. Support your local but also aim higher for breakfast.

Had ordered from La Casita quite often during the pandemic and found their food to be absolutely delicious. However, my partner and I had recently ordered again and we were really disappointed with what we had recieved (poor quality food and small portion sizes). I had subsequently left a bad review expressing my disappointment. The restaurant reached out to me directly offering to redo the order. Having recieved this, I can say the portion size was a lot better and what we would expect. My only concern is I do think the quality of the food on this occasion was not as good compared to our previous orders. Mainly the meat which was average. Perhaps a personal preference but I did have quite a bit of fat in my meat which wasn't great and my partner's steak still thin and lacked flavour. For the food I would probably go at 3.5 out of 5 (previously a 5* during pandemic). However, overall, I will leave the restaurant with 4 stars as their customer service was outstanding and they did look to rectify where they went wrong last time to the point that they even went out their way to deliver to me themselves. They seemed very sorry for what had happened to our previous order and I accept their apology. My only advice to the restaurant is to please keep an eye on quality control with the meat that's being sourced and how it's being cooked as I'm pretty sure there's been a negative change here compared to when we ordered back in 2020/21 (perhaps new staff? Change of supplier?).

Had dinner here with a mate on Boxing Day. Loved it. Has that nice family run vibe and great food. Felt like I was abroad. The banoffee pie blew my mind!

Good to know that fascists aren't welcome and as said the staff are nice and the food very good. PLEASE READ EDIT ABOVE. Sad to give this review, but the restaurant was hosting a fascist organisation from Portugal complete with banner and grinning fascist leader. Won't go back which is a shame as the staff are nice. It would be like a British restaurant in Portgual hosting a party for the BNP.

Perfectly decent food, and big portions, but nothing special

My partner & i have been here twice for breakfast and can simply say it was amasing. My partner with age has become a very fussy eater often when eating out food has to be returned as may not be cooked enough. At La Casita we have been pleasantly surprised at how the food was presented and cooked excellently. All food is fresh and you wont be hungry after. Lovely decor and well presented staff. You are always made to feel very welcome.

The best restaurant in Streatham hands down. The food is of a high quality each and every time and the customer service is amazing! I am always met with a Genuine smile when I enter and the staff and very attentive. I would highly recommend going here. This is now my new lcoal restaurant that I will continue to go to and support because the whole experience is a 10/10

I'm big fan of Italian food I did eat Italian in tons other restaurants, I do cook Italian food myself very often either, and this situation I need to be honest in here. First impression - food container too small (ok this was advertised there do small plates), then I opened the smallest one as it was a starter Garlic Mushrooms. There is not much to talk about this as its overpriced £7. Taste ok. Would rate 3 of 5. Next my main which is, Lasagna - I believe the chief is aware of that Lasagna represents Italian culture and the opinion about restaurant vary on the pasta taste. Well here is surprise... no, not happy surprised. The signature dish was overcooked, but cuoco... this godamn cuoco should learn how to cook! I dont believe he is Italian... ITS TASTELESS and pasta overcooked. I wasn't inside, as I ordered online, but I will never ever recommend this restaurant after what I received in delivery. Small plates + big prices + tasteless You need to work on this balance. If you do small plates + big prices the taste should be OUTSTANDING. If you can't achieve this taste but want to keep prices, increase portions! but if you dont care about taste and still want to maintain small plates, LOWER the COSTS, because this is ridiculous. kind regards

We have eaten at this place regularly in the past and spend on average £70-80 each time. Always found it pleasant, good food at a reasonable price along with good service. However, on our latest visit I had the sirloin steak and it was inedible, every mouthful was virtually grissle. I raised the issue with the waitress who just apologized and took my plate away. No refund, no alternative not even an offer of free dessert. I paid the bill but unlikely we will return.

La Casita is such a wonderful eating experience with the warmest of welcomes. Portuguese eat there every day and the smiles, conversation , service and beautiful food they get is for everyone. See for yourself I know you will return and return . Enjoy.
