The King & Co in Lambeth

We had a roast here and we think it was one of our top roasts in London! The Yorkshire puddings were perfect and they had a really good vegetarian option, the gravy was also fab! Would recommend

The staff here are phenomenal, so accommodating and helpful. Pop up kitchens are always fantastic and the beer selection is 👌

I recently held an event there for a large group of people and Hassan and the entire staff were so fantastic, helping me plan it as well as really taking care of us all evening. It is one of the very few pubs in London where they remember you and make it a true neighborhood gem. I also love how they invite original pop-up chefs and offer a unique culinary experience, different from your average pub. Do yourself a big favor and head over to this establishment.

It was a beautiful day in August 23 and, as everyone knows, the weather - as part of the overall context - has a significant impact on the overall experience. That said, I thought the experience was wonderful. We sat outside in the sunshine, drinking cask ale (in my case anyway). The beer was fantastic and the staff very welcoming. It was perfect - I'm not from London but I try to get down when I can and this was one of the best rounded experiences. This being England, you can't guarantee the weather unfortunately but sometimes - occasionally - everything just seems to fall into place. Awesome place.

Had a delicious Sunday roast. Served quickly and lots of lamb. Got there at 1pm and it quickly became very busy. Huge range of real ales. Little choice of largers. Will definitely go again for the roast.

The group had lamb and chicken for Sunday roast. Lamb good. Chicken terrible. The girl helping us was quite lovely and offered us some desserts. All in all a bit underwhelming.

Great atmosphere, lovely drinks and the food was AMAZING, Paul (the chef - called @ricepaddy_london) made the most authentic beef curry - best I’ve had in Clapham! Highly recommend

Love the pub quiz at the king and co!

We had Sunday lunch at the King & Co today and it was delicious ! Our 4 year old loved his enormous Yorkshire pudding and thought the chicken was very tasty. Me and my husband had the lamb. Very good portions and the gravy was generous ! The staff were also super friendly. Overall a lovely meal! Thank you!

A very nice pub where no 'traditional' pub food is served. There is a dominant Asian influence but it mixes well with other combinations. Very friendly staff and very nice place! Good choice of beers! Prices average for the area. I recommend it!

Really like this pub but sadly was a fab roast except for the potatoes which were burnt, stale and old (see photo). They never came over to ask how everything was but to be fair to them we didn't go up and complain in person as I was feeling a little under the weather so just didn't have the energy to complain - they may have replaced with better had we complained.

Went to check out the Japanese pop-up in June. Absolutely amazing food - great portions and price. Had the chicken karaage, snow crab buns and miso potatoes. All absolutely delicious. Decent price. Not sure if something wrong with the kitchen or just me but I had tummy problems afterwards. However, drinks are crazy expensive. A double G&T was about £15. I didn’t ask for anything fancy, just a G&T. I was served what seems like the sponsored G&T. Shocking! Service was very friendly. However… they could have warned me that would be the price.

Great range of beers and really lovely staff with a chilled atmosphere. Food always looks and sounds interesting so will be back to try it out soon!

We went here for the last day of Rice paddy pop up and really enjoyed the Thai food 😍 The atmosphere was really relaxed and we had a great time.

Honestly one of the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had. The meat was really tasty and the trimmings were amazing. You can tell that the food was of quality. Highly recommend. The atmosphere of the pub was really sweet too, and they have games which brings a bit of fun to the place. I will go again.

A cracking little spot. Great beers, the Cambodian Kitchen pop-up food was outstanding. Service with a smile and super friendly. All round, a brilliant night out.

Went for a Cambodian pop up and it was superb. Food was delicious and, from what my Cambodian friend says, authentic. Service was slightly slow, because they seem to have only two customer facing staff. But all in all worth a visit.

Reasonably priced for Westmalle.

Had a lovely evening here a few weeks ago. It's long been a favourite. Staff are always really helpful and kind... and it was nice to have the fire on. I've visited a lot over the years as my dog too is a big fan of the King and Co... and their staff and other doggy patrons 😀 🐶 🦴 (attached most recent photos but I have plenty more)

A group of us met at this Pub for a pre-wedding get together. Our host had reserved an area at the back of the pub. This is a very popular place and was packed on a Friday night. They had nice music, the noise level was so high, you could barely hear your neighbor speak, forget about someone across the table!! Overall, we had a lot of fun. The drinks and food were good. Service was very good and friendly. Prices are quite reasonable.

Still impressed with this little gem of a pub. Best range of drafts locally and a very happy Team. Really lovely Sunday service. Relaxed and chilled which is just what you need. Was such a nice Sunday lunch, still as good as before and the meat and veggies were cooked to perfection. The ever changing pop up kitchens are great and there's always something new, to tempt you! If you're in the area, it's definitely one worth visiting. It's 3 minutes walk from Clapham Common tube and also on a major bus route. The seating inside is spacious and there's even a small garden at the front to enjoy a Portobello beer too.

I came here on a Sunday night and just had some soft drinks it was a nice place for a chat not too busy and staff were great

We go weekly after sports training and it's a great pub. The food is also really good! They have it on rotation who's running the kitchen changes and it's always good. They also have a great range of beer that often switches up too so you can try lots. They have an outdoor area with heaters, so plenty of space indoors and outdoors..

Went here for a 40th and the staff,food and atmosphere was awesome. Highly recommended.

Great pub, with a good range of ales and largers on tap at a reasonable cost (in today's climate), two pints ~£12. The pop-up kitchen is currently a Japanese menu. The fried chicken with parmesan ~£7.50 was lovely along with the spiced lamb ramen ~£9.

Nice little hidden gem this pub! Went there with a friend and had a really good time. It was a Wednesday evening so it wasn't busy at all, but the pub still had a really good vibe to it. The music was good, and the food was even better, with large portion sizes for the price. I believe the menu changes to a different cuisine every month or so? Neat idea! The staff are all super chill and pleasant to talk to as well. I recommend getting the Miso ice cream while it's still on the menu. It's worth it! Plenty of vegan options to choose from as well, even vegan beer which I didn't know was a thing until just now!

Delicious Japanese food (as a pop up kitchen) friendly and attentive staff.

Unfortunately this pub has gone downhill significantly. Tables are sticky and the general tidiness is not at the standard they were last year. Ladies toilets are mostly out of use and those that are open are in a despicable state and have been for months, men’s toilets are equally unclean. Disappointing to see, especially when there are so many good pubs around.

Such a lovely pub - we went to watch the Ireland v SA rugby match & the staff looked after us so well! Very good vibes all round

A good selection of beers on tap and a themed menu that changes regularly. The seating area outside is small but if you can get a seat it’s a lovely space to sit in the sun or on a warm evening.

Friendly staff did their best giving me a taster of some of the craft beers but ultimately it was bottled lager for me...

They had craft cider, love it. Also my food was undercooked and they rectified it quickly and without issue.

Stan is so helpful when it comes to picking a drink! The food is tasty and isn't over priced. Really needed an unwind and that's exactly what I got. Beers have gone down a treat. Thank you for having us. Also, side not: if you aren't looking for a manic clapham common pub on a Saturday night but need somewhere to just decompress and be out, but not out-out, this is a few minute walk from the common and just wonderful

Very friendly staff and nice vibe in there

I came in here for a beer with friends. We specifically came for their choice of real ales which was good. I was recommended a 6 percent IPA which was very enjoyable.

Do not come here for a Sunday roast last week, and they have clearly changed provider since many of the positive reviews here. For £19.50/£17.50 you have the pleasure of having some essentially raw carrots, lukewarm cabbage, freezer Yorkshire pudding, granule gravy, and the worst "roast" potatoes I have ever had - possibly multiple days old, and some raw inside. The only passable element was the meat, and for the pleasure of that under-salted but well-cooked pleasure we had to wait 45 minutes+ for our lunch when there were very few other tables in the pub. We didn't send it back out of sheer hunger, and didn't ask for money off due to English politeness but did point out the flaws in the potatoes in particular when our plates were cleared. The response was very much a shrug shoulders, who cares attitude, and we left very unhappy after being cheated out of best part of £40 for two highly underwhelming small plates of food. Best avoided unless for a drink - the beers on tap offering and board games are nice touches, but food clearly is a no-go.

Pub is pleasant enough with lots of beer choices. Unfortunately, the roast dinner was really bad, it looks like they change their kitchen staff and the current ones from "oh my dog!" Hot dog company can't make a roast. Raw carrots, stale potatoes, overcooked beef and a Yorkshire pudding made from frozen. I would recommend elsewhere if you want a Sunday roast

Great pub with quality food and beer

Just moved into the area and this pub is one of the best I’ve been to in London, the staff are friendly and the beers are great too! Peter was very helpful with food and so props to him! This is my new local 100%

Nice place, like the rustic craft ambience feel. Good selection of beers on tap. Would get a 4 stars, but the burger was a bit disappointing for almost 16 quid it should be better. If it was a tenner, it's reasonable, but it lacked that premium quality. Would go back for beers but not burger again.

First time I had to send food back. Sunday roasts were horrible, not only overpriced (£17-19) Pork was 80% just fat, beef chewy, potatoes old (manager said they were only a day old but still...), gravy was just brown water. Recommend to avoid if you're looking for food. Only saving grace is the manager accepted the food was sub-standard, didn't ask us to pay and offered free drinks (the only reason why it's 2 stars, not 1)

So so good. Came here for the Christmas folk carols and drinks and it was fantastic!

meal was ok to good - burgers, could have done with some salad or garnish but fine. Masala lamb burger was interesting. Friendly , attentive staff, good range of beers and a lot to enjoy - there was a pub quiz while we were there but we could coexist quite happily.

Cosy and comfortable, this place is relaxed and good value for money. The rotation of the kitchen is a nice touch too, always something new to try every so often

Attentive waiting staff and decent pie. Pie took a long time to come which was the only downer although it was good when it came! Really like this pub generally though hence the five star. Would knock it down to 4* for pie slowness but imagine it was a one off.

The rock hard potatoes were basically raw, the Yorkshire was raw, doughy batter and the broccoli wasn’t cooked. Gravy was like water with no flavour and the beef was so chewy. Only one piece of tenderstem broccoli and one carrot for the vegetables. To top it all off it was cold. Best part was when they cleared the plates. One roast was taken off of our bill but to be honest it should have been both and they shouldn’t be charging £17 for a roast that’s inedible. We weren’t the only people dissatisfied…

Lovely and warm Suitable for young families. Very polite and smiling staff. Attention should be paid in serving meals. If customer complains that knife isn't sharp enough to cut a piece of roast beef, then one should suspect that perhaps there's something wrong with the meat and not with the knife! When the struggling customer politely complains you don't offer to replace the meal when the rest of the group has finished theirs. Finally you do offer a discount on the bill as a good will gesture! This is a fundamental principle to follow if you respect your customers.

Easy yo find. Right outside the bus stop. Nice outdoor section. Very spacious and well set up inside. Price range of drinks very reasonable. Bar service swift polite and friendly. We regularly attend this bar and highly recommend it to anyone.

The table quiz on Mondays is the best in London. I say this as someone with no other experience or evidence to back this up. However all the locals love it, it is packed to the rafters no matter what. The food is always great, every few weeks to months they get a new kitchen staff and style in. A great idea!

Really one of my favourite pubs in the area. Has a very distinct relaxed character to it. Its never overly busy which is a rarity in the area on a Friday/ Saturday night and as a result often pub in at 10/ 11 for a final pint at the end of the evening. Always find a table. The staff are absolutely top notch, really friendly, which helps the atmosphere and give you plenty of time for last orders and to finish up. A great selection of beers on tap c. A dozen. Cant recommend enough and has become our go to.

Came for a Sunday roast because they’re dog friendly. Staff were nice and friendly, and provided good service. Food was really good, although I didn’t really rate the Yorkshire puddings, a little too large and over-cooked. The toilets seriously need a refurb! Really dark and dingy.

Very good Clapham pub. 3 cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I last visited. Outdoor seating, some of it covered, at the front. Pop-up street food kitchen in the evening rotating every 4-6 weeks together with Sunday roasts.

Amazing craft beer selection, if that's your thing. Lots of games to play, spacious, not too on a Friday at 5pm

Great beers, cozy and cute place to drink in, this is somewhere my friends and I go to catch up, a personal favorite pub.

I think this is the hidden little gem of a pub in Clapham Common..away from the loud crazy crowds.... Cozy interior that allows to actually have a conversation while sipping a pint. Nicely curated front deck patio if you want to sit outside even in winter as they have heaters. The guys that work here are always friendly.
