Very poor service, many drinks/dishes missing from the menu and average food. The table next to us got their starters after their mains. Avoid!

Could really do better. To order: no more Burgers, no more draft beer... It's off to a bad start... Dry 4 cheese pizzas, lightly garnished and very salty. Service not very efficient and yet there are only a few tables occupied. In short, we must be able to find better even if the price is right.

A good enough spot if you're in the area. Good and varied selection of antipasti and mains but I wouldn't call this 100% authentic Italian. Myself and some friends visited last night and it was a bit of a car crash from beginning to end. We chose this restaurant because it was around half way between our workplaces and got good reviews (somehow). I got the tagliatelle di mare - feel like tagliatelle is the wrong type of pasta as spaghetti is typically used with this dish but it sounded like the best pasta dish on the menu. I made a big mistake - pasta was super thick and so was the sauce, which was dry and had very little flavour. One of my friends who is Italian had the penne primavera and said it was awful. My other friend had the lasagne and it looked like it had come out of a microwave packet. We then tried to salvage things by ordering 3 different desserts and sharing so hopefully we at least all had a taste of something nice - we got the tirimisu, chocolate fondant, apple pie. Apple pie was inedible - it wasn't a 'crumble' at all, I'm genuinely not sure how they made it or what was in it, and they put rock solid packet custard on top which was as thick as wallpaper paste. My friend had a mouthful and said he couldn't eat anymore, it was atrocious, so we asked for it to be taken off the bill. Even the waitress agreed it looked terrible. The tirimisu also wasn't authentic tirimisu - it was more of a layered sponge cake which was super sweet, no coffee or brandy flavour. The chocolate fondant to be fair was the only saving grace, that was very nice. But all in all a truly terrible meal - there are so many superior and authentic Italians in Farringdon/Barbican so walk the extra 10 mins in that direction!

One of 'The Best Italian' restaurant I have eaten in the recent years. The food they served was mind blowing. Let it be the sharing starters or a simple bruschetta, it was awesome taste. The bottle of white wine we have complimented all the items we had. Also the prices were very decent for London. I must admit considering the food prices gone up so much in the recent months, this is one place where you'll find the prices of the dishes to be still in affordable ranges. We ordered pizzas', prawns, chicken, hams etc., and everything tasted "Italiano perfetto". If I'm ever in that area, would definitely go back to 'La Casetta'.

Ordered a chicken pizza and chicken Milanese with chips via Just Eat....The chicken Milanese was overcooked, dry and absolutely tasteless as no seasoning was used during preparation...The chips were not hand cut and obviously frozen out of a bag...They appeared to have a rice flour coating and most were stuck together.....As for the pizza, it was soft, doughy with hardly any topping and I counted approx two miniscule pieces of chicken per slice....We threw the entire meal and feel quite annoyed we paid over £30.....I would have enjoyed beans or egg on toast more and not had to pay £30 for the privilege....Sadly, I cannot recommend La Casetta..

The tables are covered with red checkered tablecloths, making this an Italian restaurant of the type you would often see on British street corners. Basically, you'll be eating pasta or pizza, but there are other menu items as well (incidentally, the ``Milanese cutlets'' were made with chicken, not veal). For some reason, I was able to add "chips" to the lasagna, and I was satisfied with the taste.

Friendly, cozy neighbourhood restaurant. There was a varied menu with lots of tasty sounding options. Went with a friend for a catch up and the service was attractive but not intrusive. Started with olives between us and the portion size was just right for the 2 of us and the olives were juicy with a little salt added which was nice. I thought I would pretend to be healthy and have the goats cheese salad but did sneak in some roasted baby potatoes, didn’t need them, but still managed to finish them ! My friend ordered the Chicken Venetto which looked really good with a creamy sauce. The pretending to be healthy failed again when the dessert menu turned up, I had the panna cotta which was very sweet but very creamy also. My friend had the lemon sorbet, simple dessert but he said it was refreshing, ended the meal with coffees. A bit of my usual route when in London but well worth the diversion and would definitely go again.

To many tables for one waiter/dishwasher and the food was so dissapointing. We got the bruschetta as a starter it was okay, but too much balsamico and pesto that overtook the taste. Then we got the lasagna and spaghetti aglio e olio. The ingredients in spaghetti aglio e olio is chili, garlic, olive oil and parsley. It was made so spicy that the chili completely overtook any taste at all. The pasta itself was clearly the cheapest you can get from a supermarket and the serving size was for a child. Costed around 14£. The lasagna was so bland and only the tomato sauce was present in flavour. To the lasagne we got the choice of chips or salad, we chose the chips even though we thought that was weird to offer with lasagna. The chips was not salted and not crisp at all and clearly also the cheap ones you can buy in ana supermarket. Super dissapointing overall experience and the drinks and dessert we had planned to order before we left home was never ordered as we just paid and left right after the main course.

I came to London to see Taylor Swift at Wembley stadium and stayed a few days for some sight seeing/touristy activities - I had a great stay at La Gaffe! I stayed in their single room, which is their smallest room. They openly advertise as being very compact, and it was...But I'm not traveling all the way to England just to sit in a hotel room all day so I honestly didn't care. But if you're traveling with a second person or prefer more space, I'd definitely suggest one of their larger rooms. My room was very clean...I wiped everything down with a disinfecting wipe upon my arrival (I do this at all hotels) and it didn't pick up a speck of dirt or dust! I prioritize cleanliness at hotels over room size, so I was very pleased. The room did not have air conditioning, but there was an overhead fan that kept temperatures comfortable on the two sunny days of my visit where outside temperatures reached 75f/24c. Breakfast is a plentiful selection of cold foods - they had croissants, rolls, bread for toast, hard boiled eggs, meat, cheese, and a selection of cereals. They also have condiments like Nutella/jam/butter, as well as juice, milk, water, and a basket of fresh fruit. The food and drink options were frequently replenished throughout breakfast so nothing ever ran out. They also have an espresso machine and will make you any coffee drink of your choosing, which I loved. I was perfectly happy with croissant sandwiches and lattes every day! The staff at La Gaffe were very kind. I tripped and injured my ankle while sight seeing during my stay; they gave me ice to help with the swelling and told me where I could find the closest pharmacy in case I needed anything. They also gave me good directions on how to get back from wembley stadium late at night, which I appreciated. Location wise, La Gaffe is great. There is a tesco express grocery store within a 5ish minute walk of the hotel that is open daily until midnight, so it's easy to grab snacks, a cheap meal, or a cold drink at any time during your stay. There is also a pharmacy, tons of restaurants, several bakeries, and many clothing stores nearby so there's lots to do even on days when you're jetlagged and don't feel like venturing far from the hotel. The hotel is a quick walk to the hampstead stop on the Northern line, which leads directly to tons of popular areas including Camden market, covent garden, Leicester Square, and Westminster. The walk back to the hotel from the hampstead stop involves quite a hefty hill though, so be prepared for a workout if you have luggage with you! All in all I'd absolutely recommend la gaffe to anyone looking for a great, affordable, no frills stay and I'd absolutely stay there again.
