La Cantina Sociale in Tower Hamlets

This place need to shut down Poor Service, the place could look nice but while we dinner there was a mouse around the floor ,also pizza I ordered was completely burnt and nothing about Italian taste what a shame

I had dinner at the Cantina Sociale with my partner for our anniversary and I highly recommend it… From the starter to the dessert, everything was perfect. The tasty pizza with real Italian taste the homemade tiramisu is amazing .. a very peaceful environment suitable for couples and the staff very kind and attentive to the smallest details, especially Alessio a very smiling and positive but above all professional guy who made us feel at ease and at home.. this place really deserves to be visited

I don’t even know where to start from. A friend of us organised a New Year’s Eve dinner here for our group of Italian living in London. We had two different menu: one vegetarian and one fish based. People paid £45-£55 for the two different menus. The place was awful. There were not enough seats for everybody so this means the owner which is very not skilled for this job overbooked the restaurant and the people had to wait one hour to be seated. After that we had to stay very narrow and uncomfortable. There was no space even to walk out the door in case of emergency. The staff was terrible, not mannered waiter, very unpolite, kidding the customers , not aware of what was in the dishes so customers ate things that waiter was not aware of what it was. Not mentioning the food. It was terrible . It’s a shame for all the Italian people that work with passion bringing ahead Italian cuisine and culture. The food on the menu never arrived entirely, what has been prepared was the worst food I have ever eaten. I ordered a fish menu. The tartare was quite acceptable but very cold because kept in the fridge for hours (I am not sure if the salmon was good I felt very sick on 1st January and threw out salmon). The “lobster linguine” didn’t have lobster and neither tomato sauce enough. They were terrible, cold, overcooked. A friend of us took “orecchiette with cime di rape” had basically the entire plant in it only warm and not cooked well. Terrible. The bruschetta for vegetarian menu had a raw aubergine deep fried (should have been) on a “fresella” and actually the menu had written “bruschetta” on it. I don’t want to continue about the food . Nothing was good. 70+ people in a space with capacity of 35max people . Terrible. Everyone was upset and complaining about bad service and bad food. The owner is arrogant and haughty. He claimed also some bottles of water to be paid and the service charge (when by law this is not mandatory at all!!! ) and he has not clue about how it works. The sooner he closes the restaurant better it is for people and Italian in general to not be ashamed by this guy. If I could have put -1000 stars I would have done. Awful. Terrible. Arrogant

We’ve been there for New Year’s Eve and it was a nightmare bad service, row food, rude manager just one server for more then 80 people, absolutely a disaster the food was sooooo bad!!!!

Will never go back unbelievable how they can serve uncooked raw meat and act like nothing wrong the owner a polish old lady that knows nothing about italian food and kitchen. Definitely would never go back to eat here.

All the team was lovely ! Danilo the waiter and lello the chef helped us for the choice of the dishes and have been very welcoming! Food was delicious, pizza, pasta everything !! I really enjoyed my night out with my friend there!!! I’m sure I’ll be back , price is really good for quality and taste of food ! You can definitely said they put a lot of effort and passion on what they do ! I’m Italian and a sprinkle of home is always nice , but I’m sure my non Italian friend have been amazing too ! Every dish was beautiful from the starters - the aubergine parmigiana was a personal favourite, to the pastas and pizzas. The sage butter ravioli was sensational and the staff were attentive and friendly. A relaxing atmosphere and a cold aperol spritz on a summers evening was beautiful.

We had a few drinks and lovely pizza’s. Wonderful service and nice ambiance. Comfortable and relaxing vibe. Good music.

We had an amazing time at “La Cantina Sociale”! Amazing staff and service and the food was excellent! Such a blessing for a Saturday lunch treat! We really recommend to visit this gem just by Cambridge Heath station! 😍

Great pizza and lovely staff. Went on a Tuesday when they do half-price pizza – bargain! Traditional food and super tasty. The only downside was the music, something a bit more fitting with the food would be nice guys.

I have become a regular. My girlfriend and I last came on Friday evening, where we had excellent Paperdelle pasta with shrimps and mushrooms. The waiter Giuseppe went above and beyond to make us have a good time. Overall, the atmosphere is friendly, no-fuss and genuinely Italian. Highly recommended :)

Surprise surprise! Order mix up and inflated prices, beers Mayfair prices not good value for money, staff know nothing about privacy with lots of babkground noise on top of their voices. A forced service charge like no where else in London. Recommendation : visit at your own risk.. So disappointing. The worst Mediterranean bar resto I've been to in years.
