What a wonderful host Massimo is, he always gives you such a warm welcome and what a talented team he has front of house and in the kitchen. We were four generations at the table and the menu caters for each age group. It was hard to get past the delicious warm homemade bread with olive oil and rosemary but three baskets later we did! Fabulous food, best pasta eaten almost in silence, an extensive wine list, stylish decor, real linen and great stories too -we can’t wait to return! Thank you xx

Lovely restaurant, great service, good food, nice atmosphere and reasonable price. I had the tagliatelle bolognaise and it was so tasty, the house white wine, a Sicilian one, was also extremely nice, and our waitress was so helpful and friendly. We had a lovely experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

As ever a spectacular long sunday lunch. Good warm up at the bar then attentive and watm service at the table by Gabrielle. Massimo as ever on hand to add knowledge and wit. Fab starters crab & avocado and fritto miso. Beef medallions just as the should be. Great chips! And milanese and great lobster pasta for the others. All with fine wines from Italy - really authentic.

A local favourite which doesn’t disappoint. Massimo makes a big effort but some younger waiting staff need a little guidance. Do not fill up wine glasses which are not empty. Prices are higher but still quality ingredients. A really nice evening.

The food and the service were absolutely outstanding. Fantastic menu and an amazing experience. Would 100 percent go again.

We wanted to eat before going to a recording at Pinewood Studios & decided to have a proper meal. Found this restaurant on trip advisor & what an amazing find. It was lunchtime so we had the set menu - just such amazing value - 3 courses for £20.50!!

I have been eating in this restaurant since it opened with my family (about 10-15 years ago) and always happy with the food. Our waiter knows our drinks order no matter how long we leave between visits - good attention to detail is impressive! Over the years I’ve gone from meat eater, to vegetarian to vegan and they have always catered to me. My only point of constructive criticism would be to label vegan/veggie options better with more options (if possible). The owners are Italian (I believe Sicilian) which shows through in the menu - rather than English Italian it’s authentic and so tasty! Give it a try you won’t regret it!

The restaurant was absolutely packed on a Tuesday lunchtime, but service was friend and swift and food was very tasty. Can’t really fault anything about it!

Enjoyed lunch on Sunday with family and friends. Although there were about 20 of us including children everyone’s meal was served promptly and the quality was good. Would certainly recommend this restaurant. The staff were friendly and efficient.

We hasd an excellent lunch from the set menu - food was good quality and well cooked. My host said it was the best spaghetti bolognese he had had for a long time. Staff friendly, welcoming and efficient.

Food is delicious (if a little on the pricey side) but it IS delicious and you're paying for the quality. The staff are very friendly and welcoming - attentive without being in your face all the time - always happy to recommend dishes and pair wines with your meal. We took friends to this restaurant who had not been before. Once again the food and service were fantastic. Everything freshly cooked and served with a passion for food. service was amazing always there but not over powering. our friends thought the food excellent and were amazed at the good value of the lunch time menu. mixture of starters pasta and main meals all left our plates clean. fresh fish was delicious. Can't wait for next visit.

I've often driven past this place but never stopped by and this week had the chance to do so when we were booked as a group from work.

I came here with a Friend and we were seated promptly. We was starving and ordered starters pretty much straight away. I had the avocado with bacon and Friend had crab with bacon. Both of these dishes got the thumbs up from us and my dish was made exactly how I wanted it without even telling the waitress how I liked it!! The bacon pieces were crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. I had fillet of beef with Peppercorn and to be honest it was the best steak I ever had. I had it done medium rare and it just melted in my my mouth when I took the first bite. Each bite gave me different flavours and textures and it was an amazing experience eating this dish. Friend enjoyed their dish too. The service was great, the main man/owner kept coming to our table to see if we wanted any assistance. I’m on a low carb diet and couldn’t eat some of their sides but was brought out some leafy greens. Everything was great and I can’t wait to go back and devour that steak again as I have been dreaming about since I left their restaurant!! Thumbs up Guys.

It had been around a year since I last visited La Cantina del Vino in Farnham Common; returning with friends visiting from New Zealand, for lunch on the 1st August 2018, two of our party of three had the two course Market Menu, and one took the entire three course menu (me!). The owner was present, who is great "front of house", but the entire service team are personable and deliver an excellent standard of service. The food was truly delicious and we all enjoyed our meals, taken from the Market Menu, which provides extraordinary value given the quality of this restaurant. With a specially chosen bottle of wine (£40) that was a celebratory and memorable gift from my friends, two coffees and several bottles of water that we requested, the total bill came to a very reasonable £108.79 (including the wine that was not our normal "house wine" which always usually proves a very good choice). It's nice to return to a restaurant that keeps its standards so reliably high in all aspects and provides confidence for further visits, which I will inevitably be making!

My Mum, sister and I had the 2 course set lunch which had plenty of choice. Both starters and mains served piping hot and very big portions. Service as quick or slow as you want it to be.

Visited for a special occasion and felt completely ignored throughout the evening. We’ve been before and had a fantastic evening, so were looking forward to returning, but based on this visit we won’t go back. If you’re a regular you get a lot of special treatment from management, but that wasn’t us. Toilets need some upgrade. Food was excellent. Just a shame the service didn’t match this time. We explained how we felt to our waitress at the end of the meal who dealt with our complaints well.

We were a party of 6 at lunchtime. The restaurant was moderately busy, but the service was attentive but not intrusive. Food very good and value reasonable. Would revisit.

The Restaurant is full of locals which is always a good sign. We had the normal mixture of traditional pasta dishes and veal escalopes bit one of us had the biggest T bone steak I have seen for a long time.

Thank you to all the staff of La Cantina Del Vino who made the celebratory lunch for our parents' 50th wedding anniversary so special. If you are looking for an Italian flavour, ambiance and experience, this restaurant will deliver to the highest standard. The staff professionally processed orders for 80 guests, kept our glasses full and served our food at a pace which meant we could celebrate well into the early evening. Nothing was too much trouble, from the serving of canapes and prosecco outside to making a beautiful cake for our parents to cut, and guests to enjoy. The food was delicious and plentiful - antipasto to start, followed by penne, and a choice of four main dishes including the most amazing beef steak. As British Italians, we are foodies at heart and this restaurant ticked every box.

We had the most amazing day last Sunday here at La Cantina celebrating my parents golden wedding anniversary. We had 80 guests for lunch which lasted all afternoon and well into the evening, and Elizabetta and Massimo and their team could not have made us more welcome.

We were invited to my cousins 50th anniversary lunch on Sunday, the food was excellent from the canapés served outside to every course we had antipasto, a delicious penne pasta I chose cod for main course which was beautifully cooked and all the other mains on our table were excellent, desserts were all tasty, we finished with celebration cake and coffee really nice

I ate an evening meal at La Cantina Del Vino. The food was excellent, freshly prepared and prompt. The location is easy to find along the main A355 Beaconsfield Road through the centre of Farnham Common. The venue was clean, well presented and offered good customer service. Recommended!

Family night out ordered fillet steak £28.00 each, served cut in half with a few cold strips of vegetables, can’t they cook a whole fillet steak ?

Visited this restaurant with my partner the food was average . We both ordered the seafood pasta , one had a couple of clams and prawns and some calamri the other had a bit more clams but no calamri . I then ordered the dessert which was ice cream and coffee to pour over the ice cream . I asked for sugar to have the coffee separate then they misunderstood and took the coffee away . Finally when we got the bill the pastas have gone up in price than what was written on the menu . When I asked why they said the menu list was for a starter. Very strange because it wasn't clear on the menu that was the case and also you don't expect a bowl of pasta to be considered a starter. They didn't apologised but removed the service charge . 1 starter 2 cokes two bowls of pasta and a 1 dessert for £51 was a bit overpriced .

We thought the set menu was excellent, with a good selection of starters, pasta, main dishes and desserts. We brought some friends with us and everyone was pleased with their choices. Service was attentive, courteous and not too intrusive. Will definitely go again.

Sunday lunch is a treat. Great atmosphere as invariably there are families and friends celebrating some occasion, creating a great buzz but not too noisy! The food is consistently good at sensible prices, with a children's menu too, nicely served by the ever friendly staff. Car park £1.20 unlimited on a Sunday,

The service is always great in this restaurant with every customer leaving it feeling special. The food is always good and freshly cooked. If I had one criticism, it would be that it does get very noisy in the evening, which if there is a group of you is fine, if there’s a couple of you, you tend to end up shouting at each othet to be heard. The couple of times I’ve been in the evening, I’ve sat next to lots of drunken women and we couldn’t hear a thing! That’s not the restaurant’s fault though! I much prefer going at lunch time, lovely food, attentive staff and quiet! Big thumbs up from me!

My wife arranged a surprise birthday meal for my 60th and when I arrived my oldest friends had gathered at the table to sing happy birthday - excruciating! But the staff were on hand and friendly to assist in the celebratory atmosphere. They were very welcoming and played an important part in the success of the evening. We have eaten here before and as always the quality of the food and service were excellent. My friends hadn't eaten here before but were all impressed and vowed to return at the earliest opportunity. A great evening - thanks to all the staff who helped make it so!

42 of us went for a pre-ordered lunch. The main courses were served, but got cold waiting for the dishes of vegetables. My main course arrived 10 minutes after the others on my table. The staff worked hard but they need to review how to serve a large party. There is a car park at the back of the restaurant accessible from the service road.

We went to this restaurant for Valentines Day. They had decorated the restaurant with hearts red tulips on each table and candlelight to create a lovely atmosphere.

Started off great. Food and service was fantastic until the restaurant got busy. We were left for 25 mins are finishing desert without being offer drinks or our coffee from the set menu. In the end I had to approach the front desk to get our bill.

As a regular here the lunch offer of £15.50 was just too tempting to resist. We were not disappointed. Nice nibble starters followed by excellent asparagus. Our mains were cod and chicken and neither was a disappointment. Lovely vegetables too. The place was busy and it is very pleasing, as a local, to see this place doing so well. The lunch was excellent value and well worth a visit on a wet,grey,day. Great!

We have visited this restaurant many times and can honestly say we have never been disappointed ever. The food is superb, wine excellent and service friendly and professional. The atmosphere is so friendly and warm and the menus are always varied.

The food here is top quality. I had the special of the evening, scallops to start which were perfectly cooked, followed by the sea bass which was falling off the bone and well seasoned. The setting is elegant and the staff are incredibly friendly. I will certainly be back.

Annual lunch for a group of 25. For the last 5 years or so we've booked La Cantina and gave never been disappointed. For the diverse menu, food quality and especially the attentive service this cannot be matched in the area.

This restaurant was recommended to us and did not disappoint. It offers a good value lunch menu with a variety of choices, and the food is delicious and well presented. Service, too, was efficient and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will return.

Really impressed with how staff dealt with a big party - attentive, efficient and good natured so that no-one left waiting for food and waiters remembered everyone's preference. Able to adapt dishes quickly and cheerfully to accommodate individual tastes. All food was delicious, including the vegetarian options. Although on the main road there's some parking nearby and public carpark is very close.

This review is for a Saturday lunch visit, although I also regularly visit on a weekday lunch time and for evening dinners. The food is always of a great standard and this visit was no exception; Autumn lunch 2 course set meal (at 1500hr) was taken - my choice: grilled sardine and vitello (veal) al limone, wife had bianchetti and fegato (liver). Authentic Italian autumn flavours. Great price!Manager and staff are always good humoured and helpful. Give it a try.

The welcome augurs well as you step through the door - friendly, efficient - privately owned and it shows.The 3 course set Sunday lunch has plenty of choices - vegans accommodated - £18.50 for two courses - with daily specials.The starter special was carrot and orange soup and the main was beef stroganoff- both superb. The main course came with rice as expected, but also mini roast potatoes and mixed veg, at no extra charge.Given that you also get bread and butter at the start, the whole experience is totally satisfying.Tip - as you look at the menu, consider carefully whether you will be able to do justice to 3 courses!

We go to this lovely Italian regularly and always have a lovely evening. Massimo and his team are so friendly and welcoming and the service is very efficient. I had the most delicious Dover Sole this visit and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his lobster linguine. Great choice of wines and a warm and friendly atmosphere. We've also taken our toddler Granddaughter here and the staff couldn't have been sweeter to her. Highly recommended.

We went to lunch at La Cantina today to celebrate my Father's birthday. We hadn't been before but decided to book a table after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. What a gem of a place , I couldn't find fault with anything, service and food was excellent. We chose from the summer lunch menu which was very reasonably priced, with a good choice of food. We can't wait to go back.

Another go to favourite when you want good delicious home cooked Italian food. My daughter received her potatoes and veg to accompany her main - rolled her eyes and stared 'this is to die for ' - she's 5. And it was. Scampi Thermidor / veal Milanese with spag with chilli and garlic a starter of smoked salmon and crayfish with melon cheesecake and sorbets. Very very good but the best bit is Paul the maitre de from San Marco is now settled in Farnham Common which Pleased us no end ! Welcome. And thankyou.

We were due to meet two of our closest friends for lunch and they suggested an Italian eating house, that, they had been patronising for some years. After looking at their web site menu both my wife and I were somewhat dubious as to what we could order! In the event the unprepossessing picture of the exterior did nothing to reveal the very comfortable and well-appointed dining room within that has about 50 covers plus a handful of alfresco places on the forecourt, a pleasant bar area, and an A La Carte and lunch menu that bore little resemblance to the one on the web, maybe a hint for owners Masimo and Elizibeta for a bit of web updating!*Relieved and more than happy to order from the set lunch menu we chose starters of breaded and deep fried Whitebait with a Tartar sauce, and Crayfish Salads, to follow, slivers of Calves Liver, Onion and Bacon in a red wine sauce, Clams Tagliatelle in a white wine sauce, Calves liver with a Butter and Sage sauce, and Escalopine and Mushroom Marsala, the dishes were accompanied by potatoes wedges and mixed veg. Simple as all these may seem, the succulence and flavours that chef Danelli achieved were remarkable, with my Escalopine being the best I can remember! Such was the size of our meal that we could barely nibble at the Profiteroles and Tiramisu desserts. The service by our waitress Joanna and guidance by Matra D Paul were both exemplary. It’s a shame that we leave for the continent at the end of the month otherwise we would be making a return booking now! If you love the cuisine of Italy, this one is a must! Looking for a brief and light lunch, we chanced upon also Cantina. Good food, good value, excellent service. Vongole was on special and very competently cooked. Good choice of wines by the glass, and proper, scrape you off the ceiling, coffeeFast friendly and efficient service rounded off a happy and all too brief interlude

We were taken to this restaurant by friends and was our first visit but not theirs. The service was second to none and the staff were very friendly but not over powering. I started with the scallops which were amazing followed by the skate with capers , this was probably the best fish dish I have ever had. The portion was quite large and I was unable to finish it although did give it a good try ! Served with a selection of vegetables and saute potatoes .Fabulous food. the dessert menu looked inviting too but alas unable to find the room for one. Great atmosphere can't wait to return.

I visited La Cantina for breakfast with my wife spontaneously. Upon arriving I was sceptical as I am a vegan and rarely try new restaurants without doing my research, however I was pleasantly surprised by their wide range of foods. I didn't have to limit my meal much as there were options available to me. The customer service was friendly, the place was clean and left us wanting to return again but for dinner next time.

we had not ( for any particular reason ) been back to what used to be our favourite local Italian restaurant for quite a while - but did so with some good friends who love good Italian food - we / they were not disappointed and in fact thought it as good if not better than ever - great starters , super main course ( loved the pasta with lobster ) , lovely desserts and top class service with a fantastic busy restaurant atmosphere - we will be back .....

The Bridge club had lunch here pre-ordered and the food and service were good. I had white wine split over me without an apology or offer of help. The prices of the individual drinks were outrageous

What more can you say about a restaurant that serves good food at fair prices in a wonderful atmosphere with well trained attentive staff. Must return.

Went with a party of approx 22. Pre ordered our meals, which went without a hitch and no waiting around. The service was excellent, waiters not annoying at all & just seemed to arrive when we needed them. The lamb was the best I've had in a long time. On the pricey side, but worth it. We went in early Thurs eve & it was fairly empty but we were told it would get busy & boy were the right by the time we left the restaurant was packed so we took that as a good sign on a weekday night it was so busy. Also it gave the restaurant a good bustling atmosphere. The owner is Italian which adds to the feeling the food is more authentic. The food was simple & well cooked. We had the soup - lovely. A nice fish dish from the specials menu & the children had spaghetti which the ate every last scrap of & helped polish off my vegetables as well then they finished with ice cream. The food is simply cooked but is well presented & tastes delicious. The tiramisu was very good. The price for our family was around £90 with meals & drinks. It does seem to be the only restaurant that is not a pub or Indian restaurant on the parade of shops & a popular local choice. There is a pay & display car park a couple of minutes walk away. There is also a more casual pizza/snack bar under the same ownership next door.

This is a lovely modern type restaurant but the staff and the owner make you feel important. Some friends (in fact 2 lots of friends) recommended it to us and we had a most enjoyable evening there. The food was tasty and delicious. Just one little criticism we would prefer real butter rather than as one of our party described it "axle grease " I mentioned this to one of the friends who recommended the place to us and he agreed. We really enjoy good quality butter with our bread but the butter served was a disappointment. However overall the food was great. We have been there several times now and will most certainly go there again. It's the ideal place to take your friends and guests who won't be disappointed

Lovely food, staff and atmosphere. Obviously busy due to it being Mothers Day but so glad to have got a table. We all had a yummy 3 course set meal. Very nice for a special occasion, hope to visit again soon.

The place looks nice but the staff could certainly be friendlier. They are much more approachable in the linked sandwich bar next door, where the breakfast is top-notch.Otherwise the food is good.

We always enjoy visiting this restaurant. The staff give you a warm welcome and are particularly good with the elderly and families. The wine list is extensive and the menu gives plenty of options. There is always a good atmosphere, it is clean and comfortable and the food delicious.

Lunch - the menu is varied. The food portions were huge. Delighted in the portion size and unlike many restaurants the food tasted fresh and light. The service was first class and we ordered the house wine which really was terrific. The whole restaurant has a warm feeling to it with small touches like our coffees came with little macaroons and chocolates, unnoticeable things that make the difference between a quick lunch and a place we recommend . We are in a hurry to return.

Our 2nd time to this "old school" resturant in Farnham Common. Set lunch menu £14.95 or £19.95 Inc dessert. Starter was huge fishcakes salad and chilli sauce. Really yummy. Main was pork & mushroom with veg and roast potatoes. My OH had the lambs liver and onions. Both of us were delighted with our choice. Dessert for me was chocolate rolls with cream. Almost all of it was perfect. Very good food and seven by two very brilliant women.

I've been here a few times, but not recently - till last night. I read the TA reviews with some measure of surprise: 80% excellent, 10% very good or ok, then that weird 10% terrible. I'd not personally had a terrible experience before, but I could understand how it might happen.I was there on a very quiet midweek night with a friend. We had a lot to talk about, and the staff didn't have much else to do other than come to serve us. But they did it nicely enough.To be honest I didn't check the bill (as I usually do) to see if we'd been charged for the bread or crustini (?) that arrved at the table whilst we chatted away. But since we'd both had the spaghetti vongole (a generous helping of freshly cooked al dente pasta & a little bland) and then sea bass with prawns & tomato based sauce for me (again a generous helping) and beef medallions for my friend (who said it was melt in the mouth excellent) accompanied by enough potatoes & nicely cooked veg - along with a large glass of The Siciliano red each... I thought that the £100 bill (inc service charge) wasn't unreasonable.There's a fine line between a restaurant getting this beautifully right and horribly wrong when they charge £16.50+ for their entrees and a wine list that doesn't seem to have many/any good value offerings on it. We were on the right side of it, but if I had a dodgy experience there, I'd try to get it resolved before I left the premises.

We thoroughly enjoyed dinner on a Tuesday night. We did not book and the restaurant was not very busy. The food was excellent with a generous portion of vegetables. The house wine Nero D'avola was reasonably priced and went down well. The wine menu's list of wines was generally much more expensive. The husband and wife team at the front of house were attentive without being obtrusive. We shall return.

Never fails the service in the restaurant... very friendly restaurant. Beautifully cooked food and large wine selection. Each member of staff treat you as a family member. One of the best restaurants in the area. Me and my partner really enjoying going there.... keep it up....

Enjoyed a surprise meal here. The food was excellent and plenty of vegetables !!Staff attentive. Very clean. I had the Pea soup and pasta. Others enjoyed their steaks and liver and the desserts looked great.Prices are between mid range and fine dining.

A lovely atmoshere and welcoming staff. Have eaten here before and it was excellent. This visit was disappointing. Starters of tiger prawns and calamari, very basic in thepresentation and not special. For the main course, lamb wasgood, but escalope not. Vegetables served were very limited and uninspiring and not what I would class as saute potatoes. What a shame. Could do so much better and thought overpricedfor what was served. Probably would visit again, but perhapstry the pasta.

Lovely food, great wine. I had pasta with truffles and husband had spaghetti vongale for staters. The service was spot on. We had the lamb special and felt like we were back in Italy! We will be back very soon!

We had an extremely disappointing dinner at this restaurant.The calamari, I suspect, came out of a pre-packed freezer bag.My duck looked as if it had been run over by a steamroller and was dry.The vegetables again were probably frozen, not fresh and simply boiled.The pudding came from a Blue Peter recipe.The whole experience was not uplifting, and not to be repeated.

I came here twice with groups in December - returning the second time because the first was so good. The waiting staff are full of character and attentive. The menu was varied, tasty & modern with attention to detail. The lunchtime set menu is really good value ( I've been a couple of times previously) and the Christmas menu was also reasonable value and felt like a treat.

The food served here is not by any stretch of the imagination Italian and i suspect it has been modificated to adjust to the British palate or their perception of what italian food should taste like.The manager on the other hand is absolutely italian and over welcoming, over talking and possibly over billing...but is he listening? I had seafood linguine which resulted in an incredible mountain of pasta and hardly any seafood. When i asked where the seafood was, my plate was taken into the kitchen for a few minutes to then be brought out exactly as it went in....once again i asked but the manager suddenly dissapeared...sadly and very disappointed we paid (a lot - must have been all the pasta on my plate) and left to NEVER EVER GO BACK!

Every time we have visited La Cantina Del Vino, it is a great experience. The atmosphere is warm, the food and wine is stunning and the service is impeccable. Friendly, attentive waiting staff that are pleased to serve you, not just at work. A lovely restaurant.
