Called in for a sandwich on way back home to Manchester after visiting our twins who have just moved here. What a lovely find. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and pleasant We had two sandwiches a cheese and ham and a Parma ham and tomato toast. They were delicious. The coffee was illy which is my favourite so a winner straight away. We will come back when visiting again as It had a lovely authentic feel to it.

Rocco, the Proprietor, is not only a gentleman but also a master of his trade. At short notice Rocco made the most incredible Croquembouche for my wife's 60th birthday. (French classic festivity cake. A tower of Chantilly cream-stuffed profiteroles with chocolate holding it together). Never have we eaten such an amazing version. The perfectly-formed profiteroles were so thin and light and the chocolate such lovely quality. It was the most perfect and well received cake we have ever eaten. Thank you Rooco, for your superb skills and professionalism. The Croquembouche was the crown on a very memorable and happy event.

Bad customer service. I don't recommend to anyone! Visited today for quick coffe and something to eat and been refused to serve as the staff did not accept my mask even though I use it all the time as I am asthmatic. And no one had problem with it. The customer service should learn how to speak with people.

I have been eating at la bottega del pane in different occasions. Food is great! Bread is just like buying it in southern Italy, tiramisu', cannoli and other patisserie.... fantastic. Staff is friendly and pricing..... average for London....

If you have never been to Italy, you can make up for it by visiting La Bottega Del Pane. It feels exactly like being in Italy and sells all sorts of miniature pastries and other Italian produce. It's not far from Wimbledon Chase train station - great if you have time to kill waiting for your train.

Visited here last week with my daughter and her baby. Full of Italian warmth and charm, not to mention delicious food and drink. We need to be so grateful for lovely independent places like this serving the best from their countries. Our country is richer for them.

I was visiting my brother and his wife in Wimbledon. They suggested to have lunch at this small cozy restaurant. They make everything fresh every day. One can also buy cakes, various desserts, amazing cheese and other goodies. It's a very casual place and the owner was present, supervising things. Enjoyed the visit and would happily go back again.

We went after our son's wedding. It was wonderful! The quality of the food is exceptional, especially the cakes and chocolates, and the range perfect for us having both vegetarians and meat eaters in the party. We couldn't fault the service and Rocco was very generous with complimentary treats. Thank you Rocco for a perfect end to the wedding party.

Great local cafe/deli with bright and slightly quirky decor, a wide selection of meats and cheeses, good coffee and fabulous pastries such as cannoli with chocolate or pistachio fillings. If we lived any closer we would be there every week, but this is great for an occasional treat. Pleasant service and good value for money.

Feel so lucky to live nearby and be able to pop into La Bottega. Every time we have folks round, it's our first port of call for cheeses, olives, charcuterie ... mmmmm! We've also had a few cakes made for birthdays over the years and they have never failed to wow the recipient! Not the sort of place you go into with a photo ans say "make me one of these" - you just have a chat to Rocco and give him a few specifications (like, how many people, what's the occasion, chocolate or vanilla) and let him 'create'! It's a small business and he's the baker/ chocolatier, so if he's away, you need to plan ahead with him. For a little place, they have a great range of goodies! Rocco's bread is awesome (I wasn't surprised to read in a other review that La Bottega supplies Michelin starred restaurants) and you should see the chocolates they have at the counter. Absolutely magical. They also make their own ice cream - the melon is a firm favourite in this house! Finally the ladies who work on the counter are friendly, professional and quick off the mark. They're a great team. We're so lucky to live close by and be able to pop into this place. But it's more than worth the walk down from Wimbledon town centre too.

Rocco who owns and runs La Bottega is a big guy with a big character . Everything is done with gusto and passion, and the results for me are always pleasing. Italy is still very regional, so what is correct in Puglia may not be the same as Mama’ makes it elsewhere. The home baked bread is indisputably terrific, and used by several Michelin chefs, but as with any store, you may not like everything. Enough interesting items in the shop and on the shelves to put a smile of at least 95% of the population . There is seating in the shop to eat - this is not a conventional restaurant space, but comfortable for a lunch hour

We were so looking forward to visiting and supporting this local place. It is a great concept - fresh Italian deli with restaurant/cafe area. However, the two ladies who were serving yesterday (Sat) when we arrived for lunch at noon were unfriendly, unhappy and unhelpful with a poor selection of lunch items which were actually quite pricey for Wimbledon. Would love to come back if the service was better and staff friendlier but as it is, we won't be back again or recommending it to anyone else. What a shame!....

Actually came here to buy handmade chocs for a gift (tempted by their website). Never been before and it was busy with customers buying food. I was a bit disappointed with the choices of chocolates as there didn't seem to be any fruit truffles and it was heavy on the coffee (which the gift recipient doesn't like). We were served by a very friendly and helpful young woman, but just as we were paying, another employee literally barged me to get to the counter, accompanied by a customer. She then seemed to be insinuating to the woman who was serving us that she shouldn't be wasting her time, but should be serving this man instead! Whether there was some perception that we'd pushed in or something ( we hadn't) I don't know, but I really don't appreciate being rudely barged and it being made out that I wasn't worth spending time helping. However nice the chocolates are, I won't be hurrying back....

I phoned a few months ago to enquiry about a specific Italian cake I wanted to order for my sons' first birthday. They assured me they could make it but told me I'd have to order it a week before. I called last week but was told the only person who could make it wouldn't be there so I. Couldn't order it. I went in today to see whether o could find an alternative but there was no flexibility on their side and I felt everything I asked was not possible. It will have to be a supermarket cake then, thank you very much...not!

My brother has been going to La Bottega del Pane and raving about this family run unassuming bakers come restaurant / delicatessen and chocolatiers for some time. Finally, I found the time to take my friend there and I was blown away by the variety of Italian products and the friendly atmosphere. Planning to get lots of my Xmas presents from there today. A nice experience - try it! PS It is not a place for cranky people and humbugs!

Disappointing Valentine’s Dinner We went for a Valentine’s dinner, and unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. We ordered two cocktails: a dry martini and an espresso martini. The dry martini was served in a whiskey glass with ice—completely wrong for this classic drink. The espresso martini tasted watery and artificial, as if it had come from a bottle rather than being freshly made. For my main course, I ordered the chicken risotto, but what arrived was a dry, unappetising blob of rice with bland boiled chicken and overcooked asparagus. To top it off, I wasn’t even offered any cheese. My partner had the snapper, which he described as just about edible—only because it had spices, something not typically found in authentic Italian cuisine. The service felt rushed, and it was clear that the priority was getting diners in and out as quickly as possible rather than providing a quality experience. It seemed like the owner was more focused on maximising profits than ensuring guests had an enjoyable evening. A Valentine’s dinner I will never forget, but sadly for all the wrong reasons.

We decided to go despite having already eaten since we have to catch a flight of several hours, the fact is that in order not to get too full we ordered two menus without dessert for 18 pounds, the bacon salad was delicious, it is not very filling but for a person is fine as a starter. We ask the waitress that the meat be without spices or creams, everything separately. The food arrives and one of the plates has the breast full of sauce and the waitress argues that we have indicated that only one of the two dishes comes with everything on the side, I accept that it may be my mistake. The other meat dish, the one that she herself said we only indicated to her, had nothing but the meat… it only tasted like pepper. I don't know if it's because we ordered little (we had already eaten and we just wanted to ensure the flight without hunger) or he saw us looking like tourists, but the treatment has been borderline distant and cold. The salad is recommended, and if you like pepper instead of ordering meat there is a Tesco 50m away where pepper is cheaper.

They took ages to make two margaritas and one of them was very disappointing. The extra paid for artichokes were hardly visible, just some tiny ones scattered over. The organic tomatoes were just canned tomato sauce. The pizzas arrived ice cold and it was not the fault of the delivery person. The piece of hazelnut chocolate cake was just a tiny brownie. Everything tasted okay after heating it up again but not worth the money

Visited on 31/01/2025 for the joint birthday of my mum and niece. We were greeted with such warmth and enthusiasm, you knew instantly you were going to be taken care of. Our server was extremely friendly and she made sure that our every need was tended to. The prices for food is more than reasonable, the portions are huge, and the taste? Bellissimo! Thank you for making my mum and niece feel like a Queen and princess on their birthdays. It was nice place to have a family gathering. The lamb shank and the sea bass was AMAZING - (there was so much on the plate I was able to share and sample something else) Thank you and see you again soon!
