My wife and I enjoy good quality pizza, particularly when staff go the extra mile to accommodate my wife's dislike of onions. Its a big thing these days, catering for the customer and Magda, delivered efficiently and without hesitation. Great food and a most enjoyable visit. Thanks to all at Strada Wimbledon!

Visited with my wife and three kids for a quick meal. We used to come here a lot a few years back. Although the staff were friendly and helpful, the overall kitchen service was very poor. We ordered Salmon and lentils and after 15 minutes, we were told there was no salmon left. Then we were told that there was no food left to prepare some of the kids' dinners. When we ordered chips, they mentioned they'd run out of ketchup. A waiter had to run across the road to get some. I settled on a different type of fish on lentils. It was quite frankly awful - a tiny portion of fish that was overcooked and greasy. The lentils were soggy and lukewarm. The kids dessert consisted of pizza bases with Nutella on top. Our overall sense is that this is a restaurant that is not fit for purpose with a kitchen in chaos. The manager apologised and offered us a discount which we were grateful for, but we will not going back.

Mi pareja y yo fuimos a Strada Wimbledon.

We were a group of 11 (of whom 3 spoke good English) celebrating the birthday of one member of the group. That meant a large and complicated order for starters, mains and drinks. We got the good food that we are used to having at Strada, and the staff were very helpful in getting us exactly what we ordered, even when we changed our minds about little things. They were especially good at surprising the birthday girl with a cake which we had brought with us. The waiter even had me fooled as he seemed to be bringing the dessert menu, then suddenly produced a cake with all the candles lit. It was a really enjoyable evening.

Im sorry I feel so strongly about this but I visited the Wimbledon Strada on Saturday night and would just like to say how offended I was by the total lack of access and facilities for the disabled. I have primary progressive multiple sclerosis but am still able to walk short distances using my walking stick. I managed the step into the restaurant and the meal was acceptable but the problem arose after the meal when I was advised that not only was there no disabled WC but that I had to use a toilet down a flight of very steep stairs in the basement.

Having visited a number of Strada restaurants the best I can say about the one in Wimbledon village is that at a fiver a pizza on Monday nights it represents fairly good value for money. Unfortunately the starters and desserts do not! Whenever I visit a Strada I get the impression that the food is produced off site by the same people who produce airline food. I attended your restaurant for lunch today and was greeted with such a lovely waitress for service around 12pm. She was more than happy to serve me and help me with my allergies when selecting from the menu. I told her I was allergic to gluten, onion and garlic. When I got the seafood risotto I ordered, I was disappointed to find out after a few bites it had onion in it. The waitress said she told the kitchen, but sadly the kitchen either forgot or didn't bother with telling me there was already onion in it. I then had to order the carbonara and it was given to me with loads of leek in it, which is a type of onion, as well as Spring onion. I felt too embarrassed and frustrated to return it to the kitchen as I had already sent back a meal, and I don't like to be difficult. I ate around the leek and Spring onion. This afternoon I have been extremely unwell and in pain from my lunch. I hate to be that difficult customer but I don't choose to have this allergy, I wish I didn't. I felt sad having to pay £10 for a meal I knew would soon make me very sick. I thought I would share my feedback for the staff to be more aware of people's allergies. Thanks

We wanted to book a table for 4 last Monday to celebrate a friends birthday. We rang at about 7.45pm to be told by the lady answering that "No sorry were fully booked all evening!"This was on an evening that Wimbledon village looked like it had been evacuated. Not a sole in sight, the pub we were in was empty ,so we thought we'd try anyway to see if the could squeeze us in and if not there was plenty of choice.Of course they could with several empty tables. We were served by a charming young man and ordered our food and drink. With the use of a Taste card we got 50% off our food yet strangely enough were told the bread we ordered to dip in oil wasn't included. Not food then perhaps. The rest of the meal was fine and with the discount good value.None of us could work out why the lady had told us it was full. Several more apparent 'walk ins' came after us and tables found. Our guess was as whoever she was didn't earn commission so less customers= less work!

We ordered of a menu that we finally realised wasn't available after 7, even though we didn't even arrive till 7.30. It all got so complicated - umm... why did you give us the menu? We were so confused by it that we decided to skip desert and call it a night. Food is ok. Small portions. Generally Service ranges from poor to ok , whenever you go and however busy it is. The restaurant layout is not good for couples. To be honest it all looked grubby tonight. Floor was covered with remains of other people's food, napkins, straws etc and seats were very dirty . Really needs a good clean. Toilets are poor also.

To start my husband had bruschetta, he said he felt it was probably pre made and straight from the fridge...unusual when bruschetta is so easy to make. Main course I had a burger, was pretty disappointing, most places these days do homemade burgers - this looked like your typical frozen burger to me. Ok it didn't say homemade and maybe I was wrong in thinking somewhere like strada would make their own. Some melted cheese and were they caramelised onions? Anyway I couldn't eat it. My husband said his main course of chicken pasta was good and tasty, I picked the wrong thing. Come on strada make your own burgers.....it's cheaper for you and so much more tastier for us. Then I had the salmon which was delicious and a nice decent portion well cooked, but alas accompanied by stone cold potatoes out of the fridge. Not nice! warm potatoes please. Then I had panacotta. Unfortunately it was served in a hot plate, and the warmth ruined the cool pudding. My partner had a tiny tiny bit of rolled ham for starter. Very mean portion albeit delicious, followed by a pizza. The first thing I should say is that the front of house staff were very good despite being understaffed and rushed off their feet. For starters, I had crispy squid (calamari) and my friend had antipasti. The calamari had a very little amount of squid and was actually more like fish and chip shop "scraps"; the leftover bits of batter from frying fish. The antipasti was rather meagre and the cured meats, olives and bread were more or less the same as any you could buy from the standard Tesco or Asda range. For the main I had sea bass with fennel and potatoes. The sea bass was severely overcooked and wasn't fresh at all. Strangely there was a burnt sprig of thyme in the centre of the fish, which added a bitter flavour. The fennel was burnt and bitter. The potatoes were cold, greasy and overly salty. My friend had the rump steak with fries and peppercorn sauce. The steak was fine, cooked medium rare as was asked for. The fries resembled McDonalds fries but were undercooked and more oily. The peppercorn sauce had raw brandy without the alcohol cooked off which meant my friend couldn't have any. We did mention the poor quality of the food to our waiter (who was perhaps the restaurants only saving grace) who gave us 5 pounds off the bill.

In the last year we must have gone twice and we were quite disappointed.....it was quite empty and tasting the food probably explained it....I believe the chef has changed as the menu is quite different and definitely not as nice. Different dishes we got were either over cooked or under cooked....signature dishes have gone out of the menu and new ones have come in which aren't that great. The service was still very very good. Very attentive and pleasant, but couldn't compensate for the lost quality. It's a shame as it was a very popular restaurant in the area. I hope it revives somehow!

Service was way too quick - the wine order was taken almost as we were still removing coats - the servers hover too closely throughout the meal (our table was in an unfortunate place by the bar though) and we were given no time to view the menu. Place is a bit tired and in need of a refresh. My pasta was so undercooked it was so chewy - and almost completely cold (other diners were also complaining about food being cold). Everything just feels lacklustre and half hearted. Will not be going back.

Went here last night with my Partner. Restaurant wasn't that busy, so getting a table was easy. I found the menu a bit limited for an Italian restaurant, as I have eaten in quite a few. However, that said, the food when it arrived, was excellent quality, and the portion size was more than adequate. Good service, very clean and tidy.I would recommend coming here.

Very nice pizza, lovely Saltimbocca salad and fresh tasty salad. I know a lot of chain restaurants fall well wide of the mark, but Strada (this branch at least) appears to have an Italian chef in the kitchen who actually prepares the food with care, so the difference is noticeable. Would definitely return!

Went for a quick lunch during the week. Similar to may other national brands the menu is very familiar and unimaginative. The service was good and the food was predictable, inoffensive but not inspiring. We had the Garlic bread which they serve in a bread tin which means all the tasty sauce spills into the tin so the bread ends up being a little bland. The Caprese Salad had cherry tomatoes and other types of tomatoes chopped up and not enough fresh basil, which is always disappointing but it was tasty. The Sole main course had crispy skin which I like, but the fish was slightly dry and overdone. The Ravioli was not as good as what you can buy from top supermarkets and the tomato sauce was way too tart.Average

Wanted to eat out in the Village on Saturday night , White Onion fully booked so after a quick drink in the Fire Stables we dropped in here as we felt like a bit of pasta. Other options were Carluccios or Pizza Express. I dont rate Carluccios and felt like a more relaxing atmosphere. So - Service was efficient quick and friendly. Naomi?? i think., The menu gives a good wide choice of Pizzas and pasta and more refined Italian dishes. We shared Calamari starter which was very good followed by Veal Milanese and Spinach and Ricotta ravioli. Ravioli was good but Veal Milanese better but came with salad and potatoes rather than the preferred pasta But still Good. Two glasses of House wine and £50 plus tip for a cheap Saturday night and excellent value. Nice atmosphere.

Went for lunch, Monday 15th June 2015. Pork nice, sauce with it insipid but pleasant enough. Veal had one side of batter burned, covered in raw diced garlic, potatoes that came with it black as coal. Complained to waiter, got fries delivered instead, potatoes left on plate. Manageress Eva appeared, together with chef. Our waiter spoke to both in front of us, showed them the black food, a debate about it seemed to take place, then both just walked away, didn't even look in our direction. I approached manageress when she reappeared with chef, asked why she wasn't bothering to speak to us and pointedly ignoring us when we had complained. Chef stared at me the whole time I was talking, didn't speak. Manageress told me initially she was "sort of" in charge, then she was in charge, then she was the assistant. Then said she was "swamped" - there were four customers at the time, no more than six the whole time we were there. I told her the waiter Beau was a blessing for the place, helpful, apologetic, doing his very best effectively on his own, while she was not "managing" but ignoring a customer problem and then complaining of being overwhelmed with her work. Beau needs a better job, Eva and the chef need to be fired, we need to vote with our feet.

I feel sorry for the staff at this place. They are nice and do their best with what they have but the standard of food is really low. The menu has great options which sound delicious but honestly apart from the pizzas my whole party were severely disappointed with the quality of the food especially as its priced like it's going to be good. Let me just make a point about the restaurant itself. Please update the barhrooms they are filthy and I left it feeling dirty. The taps should be push down or sensored not twisting knobs that harbour germs and separate hot and cold taps is just unnecessary in this day and age. The toilets are next to the kitchen and make you wonder how clean the kitchens and staff are if the toilets are that bad. The soap dispenser is a joke and howers so far to the right due to the over sized mirror that half the soup ends up on the floor and make you wonder if people actually use it. The food was disappointing, pizzas are good but over priced. The calamari is a joke, small rubbery over fried rings with no flavor and a cheap tartar sauce. The restaurants business has really improved in the last few years and I'm surprised Stada is not stepping up its level of food to compete. The sea bass was fried and placed on mash potato with some canned black olives. Very dry and bland, it needed a sauce. The steak is small and priced at £17 comes with one baby potato sliced and decoratively placed. I like my food to look appealing but more than that I like to feel satisfied. I left Stada feeling disappointed and sorry for the staff. They are doing a fine job and provide a great service but the food they have to provide is not well planned and does not appear to have been thought out or priced fairly for what it is. The steak was cooked well so the chef must know what he is doing in that department but the standard of the ingreadients is poor. You really feel like they are trying to save on spending with their food and it is at a detriment to the over all restaurant.I did enjoy the pizza and the service was good but the majority of the food was not value for money and the toilets need a serious revamp!

It was quiet inside, the decor was warm and tables clean. The lady who took our order was very helpful and friendly. Menu had a good range of choice, including for vegetarians. On the downside, the table arrangements were strange, for example sitting groups next to the two of us when there was plenty of space elsewhere. Also, very annoyingly, the toilet facilities were not accessible as they are downstairs only. The portion sizes were quite small for the price, which wasn't cheap.Overall I would go back, but to a branch where everyone can use the toilet not just people who can use stairs!

Another bland chain. I had the steak salad as a main course 'the tagliata' - it was tiny. The salad was a tomato cut into a quarter, 5 beans and the rest a small amount of lettuce - FOR £15!! I don't mind paying more at a decent restaurant but this is a high street chain. The bruschetta was ONE small piece of bread topped with bland tomatoes. You'd be better off going to one of the local pubs as this place is clearly ripping people off. I asked why the portions were so small and was told that they had recently reduced the portions to reduce waste but the prices remained the same.

We normally like Strada. We go to the one at the South Bank Centre very often, and popped into one in Baker Street and another in Blackheath all in the last month. So it was a great disappointment to see how low their standards have fallen in Wimbledon Village, an area where I would have thought that the clientele would be quite discerning. We went there for a big Christmas dinner for the company, after a show at Wimbledon Theatre. I arrived first, because I was the only one driving and was greeted with a blank refusal to be allowed a soft drink. There was wine and no other choice. This was orders from some "Restaurant Manager" which were relayed to me via an embarrassed waitress - he couldn't be bothered to come and have the discussion himself, even though a situation was clearly developing. Then for the food service, we had all pre-ordered, so the kitchen knew exactly what was required when, but still there were enormously long waits between people being served - probably a good 25 minutes from first to last on all three courses. This was difficult, because those served didn't want to be impolite and start before their colleagues, but equally didn't want cold, congealed food. Finally, the food itself was largely inedible. I started with an avocado dish which was so tough that I couldn't cut it with a knife, let alone chew it. Then a pizza which had a good 2" of bread round the outside of a stingy bit of topping in the middle. Finally some glutenous Panettone bread and butter pudding which was so heavy as to remind me of school dinners in the 60s.A very unfortunate experience, and really letting the rest of the chain down.

This restaurant would be great for a Christmas Party, if I lived in Wimbledon, but unfortunately I don't. Vast inside, it has a lower ground floor that could, in special circumstances double for an entertainment sprawl! Worth asking if the office is looking to go 'The Italian Way over the festive period. They are taking bookings for Christmas Day, 3 courses, adults @£42.95 seems competitive for a moment of quality time and where someone else does all the preparation and clearing up afterwards. Not a regular of Strada, a chain lacking locally where I live its a must to try out more of them when the chance arrives. Only reviewed two so far but the pizzas at both have been mouth wateringly good. Service too was courteous and efficient and as parking is difficult to find, its worth walking that extra mile for an enjoyable lunch. Our meals at various branches of Strada have always been that little bit better than most chain restaurants. But a chain it is, and you never really forget that you are a customer of an impersonal business where everything from the standard hyped-up menu to portion sizes are designed to maximise profit. Our food, for a family party, was OK - although my own penne arrabiata was bland and barely warm enough - and it was a bit of a surprise that the serving staff coped with their workload as well as they did. But overall we came away without that feeling of well-being that follows a meal in a really good restaurant.
