Super friendly service and excellent quality food, for a very fair price! Excellent family atmosphere!

Nice atmosphere, I found it easy to forget I was in Wimbledon. The staff are nice, would have got 5 stars but, they forgot my order 5 times, however, very well mannered staff and great food.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and great staff

The experience was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making the moment even more special. The food was outstanding, and without a doubt, I had the best Italian pizza in London! A true gem — well worth every visit.

Everything was perfect. The filet mignon was cooked just right, and the red wine paired beautifully. A romantic spot with great lighting and music.

My husband and I were visiting the area and stopped in for lunch. We shared the sea bass, the seafood pasta and a bottle of white wine. Excellent preparation, the flavors were delicious and the portions perfect. Service was great and given the beautiful day, lunch on their patio was just lovely. Reservations recommended.

Fantastic evening at Al Forno Wimbledon, food and service was great. U haven't visited for a long time and wasn't sure what to expect however, this local restaurant and team still understand great food and hospitalit. We had a friend over from the States and took a chance and booked on the same day. He had the seafood risotto, calamari and Banoffie pie👌 The linguine Vongole, Steak, choc fudge cake and cheescake were Fab xx This is definitely of my favourite local restaurants and still reasonably priced. Keep it up Al Forno you never disappoint.

A quaint restaurant located in a side street near the New Wimbledon Theatre. Decorated with interesting items, and it's set over 2 levels. Large menue choice and quality dishes. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I would recommend booking as there was a constant queue out the door. I am looking forward to returning and would definitely recommend this restaurant.

This place is pretty cheesy but the food is fairly good and the staff are very friendly. I wouldn't go here expecting a fantastic Michelin starred meal, but the atmosphere is pretty good and they try hard. We went on an office lunch here and all sat upstairs. The space worked well and we got a bargain deal.

Brillant tasty food, with generous portions. Very nice & cordial atmosphere and great service. Good restaurant especially in summer when the outdoors is open. Highly recommended.

You don’t come here for silver service, you come here for great Italian food and amazing service that comes with a warm glow. A go to favourite in south London for many years to come.

Al Forno Wimbledon knows how to take reservations, but does not know how to keep them. The two times in the last six months I've been here, I have booked for 7pm, turned up just before 7pm, only to be told that "customers are now paying" and the "table will be ready very soon, they are taking a while to pay". Only to actually be sat at the table at 7:15. 15 minutes late on two occasions is not acceptable. Hold your reservations Al Forno. It's not fun for your customers to wait 15 minutes when they've booked.

Wife and I went out on a date. It’s a nice rustic place that has a lot of old charm and the food was delicious. I had a pasta dish with clams, mussels and shrimp. Service was outstanding.

The food was overall far too salty—it was so salty that my mouth felt numb. I still feel like there's salt lingering in my mouth. On top of that, it was really expensive. After we paid, we checked the bill and realized they had charged us for something we didn’t even order. Although it wasn’t an expensive item, it still didn’t feel good to find that out. To make matters worse, they didn’t even give us the lunch menu when we came in.

I had a miserable experience. It was a reunion between myself, my daughter (over a year apart) and my good friend (over 5 years aways from each other) so we expect to have a nice dinner where we can find in many other place but I prefer to have Italian and my friend who lives in Wimbledon recommended this place. We have booked the table, and when we arrived, the reaction of the staff at the reception show that there was no table planned / booked for us because she kept looking around and then direct us to the table right in front of the beverage service counter while there are more plenty of tables available. I was the one who told her that we wanted new table since we can not eat and chat in front of the service beverage counter. By that time, the one table near the entrance was taken with one lady who later we found out that she is one of the restaurant team because at some point she move to another table and give the table to the guests which were not us. Then, the staff throw us to the table in front of the pizza owen service counter while I saw again lots of table behind me in the room were available and i asked if we could take any while she seemed not even to listen to us and she just left us at the table and go back to greet another guests and taking them to the table and wait for them to sit. And all the guests that I have mentioned here, they are not Asian. Finally, we took the table in front of Pizza Owen. The staff was so rush (less than 5 mins) to get the order and we haven't not even finish observe the menu. More surprise when the staff taking our plate after we only finished our appetizer and some fried that i saved to have it with my main course. Then i asked one man who I observed that he is one of the restaurant management since he didn't wear the uniform and he sit to enjoy food with the lady who i have mentioned at the beginning. I told him how come the staffs taking all without asking. Then we have the new plate and main course later. The only person who saved our night was Camilla who finally take care our table while there are different staffs taking care of us and we needed to start all over to tell them what we wanted / what we ordered / how we wanted .. Camilla who is helpful. And not only me to experience this service but my daughter even asked me if they were not willing to service Asian? We saw mostly Asian coming in always been taking to the bad table spot. And i agreed with my daughter since we have been treated that way too. The food is just at at normal not an extraordinary till we needed to accept and enjoy this miserable service. We had no choice, we made mistake to choose this restaurant so we must enjoy the accompany and focus on our memorable conversation rather than other negatives service vibe of the restaurant. The only thing we can do is not coming back here and also other branched while not recommend to any of our friends and family. Let's spend time and money where we deserve a good service.

Busy Italian in Wimbledon. Massive pizza! Bit pricey though.

Solid Italian which is popular with the locals. Always friendly, but often very busy so worth booking. Kid friendly and often full of kids at lunch time.

Al Forno, what a shame. I have been coming to you for over 20 years and last night was appalling. The bread was a cheap baguette and foil wrapped butter. The carbonara and gnocchi Gorgonzola were made with the same cheap béchamel sauce as the lasagne. I’m not Italian, but that is not how you make carbonara. Zero taste and zero effort. I’m pleased I ordered the smaller size. At 9.30pm the staff started drinking and putting the chairs on the tables making us feel incredibly uncomfortable finishing our food. Not surprised you’re empty. Really gutted. Will not be returning

I was at one of my favorite places, which we visit almost weekly, but today the service and atmosphere really disappointed me. A child was screaming at an ear-splitting volume of 100 dB for over an hour. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, the server shrugged and said, "There's nothing I can do." I believed the server could have approached the parents and asked, “Is there anything we can do to help stop the child from crying? We have other guests to consider.” Additionally, the usual check-backs and caring attitude were noticeably absent.

The actual best Italian!!!! We are here all the time and love everything about it ♥️

Great food and service. I enjoyed the lasagna and my wife the stroganoff. The kids had pizza and gnocchi. All was very good and we will visit again.

El menú era variado y un montón de opciones para todos los paladares, y a un precio razonable para los generosos tamaños de porción. La comida era excelente, todos disfrutaban inmensamente de sus platos, incluso la porción de entrada de pasta era de un gran tamaño y relleno. El servicio era excelente, todo el personal era sonriente y parecía que estaban disfrutando de estar allí, muy atento y genuinamente acogedor. Un restaurante muy generoso y amable. I was very disappointed with my starter Funghi Trifolata, the mushrooms had not been prepared, sliced properly and some mushrooms were not even prepared. It was served and it looked a complete mess and greasy. It looked very unappetising and unappealing as if it had not been prepared properly by a proper chef. Also my pasta was undercooked and there was a miniscule portion if chicken which looked very pale (not browned) too look cooked properly. Lastly although the Tiramisu was very light consistency I could not taste the marsala wine or coffee flavour which is traditional in this dessert. I found it very bland. The whole meal was very disappointing. This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant. I do not think for the amount I paid for dinner I would want to go there again. It is very shabbily run. The highlight of my whole meal was the garlic bread.

Everything was delicious. Superb and prompt service. I love coming here always. The best part here is the chocolate fudge cake which i absolutely love. ❤️

Disappointing Valentine’s Dinner We went for a Valentine’s dinner, and unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. We ordered two cocktails: a dry martini and an espresso martini. The dry martini was served in a whiskey glass with ice—completely wrong for this classic drink. The espresso martini tasted watery and artificial, as if it had come from a bottle rather than being freshly made. For my main course, I ordered the chicken risotto, but what arrived was a dry, unappetising blob of rice with bland boiled chicken and overcooked asparagus. To top it off, I wasn’t even offered any cheese. My partner had the snapper, which he described as just about edible—only because it had spices, something not typically found in authentic Italian cuisine. The service felt rushed, and it was clear that the priority was getting diners in and out as quickly as possible rather than providing a quality experience. It seemed like the owner was more focused on maximising profits than ensuring guests had an enjoyable evening. A Valentine’s dinner I will never forget, but sadly for all the wrong reasons.

A good pasta spot in Wimbledon. The mushroom risotto was absolutely delicious, while the lasagna was decent. However, the carbonara was a bit disappointing. Definitely recommend the mushroom risotto!

Most Excellent After a Matinee performance at Wimbledon Theatre. Decided this local restaurant would be rather nice for a meal. Wow outstanding service food mouth watering. House wine delious after garlic bread & simple mushroom starter we both had steak one medium one medium rare both cooked to perfection. Very busy restaurant but they dont rush you. One feels valued as a customer. Very clean hygiene standards. 3ish courses only one desert with a bottle of red & large glass white wine shade over £100. So value for money if you like quality food.. Definitely a place we will return to.

The coziest and richest place in London, they treat you like a king

Calzone was huge, and I was told it was good however my lasagne was massively disappointing, nice flavour however over cooked to the point the pasta was mush with no bite, something they certainly need to address. However the staff are friendly and the pizzas look great, I will be trying here again soon to hopefully bump up my review however I will be avoiding the lasagne

Food can be really good or average but has gone downhill a lot recently. Service is often shambolic, regardless of how busy the restaurant is. On my recent visit, only the outside seats were occupied, yet a table of two waited 40 minutes for two starters and a bowl of olives. When they did arrive, they were cold.

Ordered the seafood risotto, which arrived 15 minutes later - always a concern, when this type of dish arrives so quickly. It was evident the risotto had been batch-cooked, as it was overly mushy and lacked the proper al dente texture. The seafood (clams, squid, prawns) was disappointing - none of it tasted fresh, and the dish felt carelessly assembled. I kept encountering bits of shell and skin, which made the experience frustrating and unappetising. My friend had the carbonara and described it as just average. While the waitress was lovely, she didn’t check in on us during the meal. The restaurant was busy, and we felt forgotten once the initial order was taken.Not impressed at all.

I visited this Italian restaurant for a casual meal and had a decent experience overall. For starters, I tried the Milanesa Parmigiana, which was genuinely enjoyable—crispy, flavorful, and well-prepared. For the main course, I ordered 2 vegetarian dishes: a pizza and a lasagna. While they were okay, there were some issues. The lasagna was overcooked, leaving the pasta a bit too soft for my liking. As for the pizza, while it had potential, it lacked a bit of depth in flavor and could have been seasoned better. On the brighter side, the restaurant offers convenience, reasonable prices, and a pleasant enough atmosphere for a casual outing. It's not a standout Italian dining experience, but it works for a quick, budget-friendly meal.

Debido a dos renovaciones de cocina elegimos comer fuera para la cena de Navidad. Éramos un grupo familiar de diez. Cuando llegamos el restaurante estaba lleno a reventar. Fuimos geniales por miríada de personal muy amable. Estábamos sentados con prontitud y aunque todas las mesas estaban llenas de familia muy festiva el servicio excelente El memorándum ofrecía cinco muy buenos entrantes y platos principales incluyendo una excelente cena de Navidad. Los entrantes eran excelentes La mayoría de los invitados tenían un cóctel de gambas delicioso Yo tenía Parma y miel de nuevo excelente, las principales fueron muy buenas opciones tuvimos un orden mixto de pavo tradicional, filetes y cordero, no queda un poco, probamos cada uno de la otra comida todo magnífico, seguido de comprar increíble helado y crumble de manzana. Tres platos eran £ 44. 95 esto fue una relación calidad-precio excepcional, estábamos al lado de un grupo encantador de varias familias que somos absolutamente encantadores personas para compartir el día con, no queríamos irnos, pero el personal se ganó un descanso que hicieron un excelente trabajo, reservar temprano jajaja.

Received diabola and chicken (I am vegetarian) Bad quality food , taste completely differentiated then the one you get while you eat in, they do not give all ingredients, or give cheap alternatives or I don’t know what is wrong with this place ! Do not recommend this restaurant order somewhere where they do care about deliveries ..

Whenever I get dragged to this place I know I'm going to hate it. Its crowded and you always need to queue to be seated. But the food is just terrible, my pizza which i thought was the safest option appeared to be made from a jar of halepenos and a pr-esliced packet of chicken. I gave it to a homeless man, I hope he was ok. Staff nice n friendly , wine not bad. But the food bloody embarressingly poor. Please dont eat here as so many people do, it will only just encourage them.

El restaurante había donado una experiencia gastronómica todo incluido como premio en una rifa benéfica. Afortunadamente nos dieron este premio como un regalo de amigos. Habíamos visto unas pocas malas críticas en trip advisor últimamente, así que no esperábamos grandes cosas... pero nos dejó boquiabiertos por la atención del personal y el lugar auténtico. Sin duda volveríamos. La comida era excepcional... los langostinos eran increíbles, tanto sabor y tan carnosos. El filete estaba perfectamente cocinado (medio) y el sabor era fantástico. Comimos 2 salsas, Diane y gorgonzola, y fueron las mejores que hemos probado. El pudín era increíble tiramisú tradicional y era perfecto. En general una gran comida 10 / 10 ... sin duda recomiendo ❤️

My brother, sister and I visit every December to celebrate our late Dad's birthday, he loved this place and it never fails to deliver with service, atmosphere and of course the amazing food. Recommend to anyone who loves Italian cuisine

It's part of a chain, and it does an okay job of not appearing to be a chain. But ultimately, pretty average. And the drinks, especially the beer, were overpriced. I get that some central London pubs are trying to get away with seven quid for a pint, but in Wimbledon? Pizza, which I didn't try, looked decent, if not special. Pasta, which I did try (penne with salmon) was under-seasoned and the salmon was a bit overcooked and too scarce in the dish. It's okay as a family spot, with correspondingly low expectations for the food, but with Central London pricing, I expect better.

Certainly not an authentic Italian restaurant. Food was bland, service was mediocre at best. Homemade desserts were definitely not homemade. Not a pleasant experience and wouldn't go back

This place is a bit hit and miss. Nice inside, although dating a little. Service can be good, especially if you get the Portuguese waiter. But last time I was here a younger guy was very rude & I'm not used to that in Wimbledon. I got put next to the bar and had staff literally on my back the whole night and couldn't wait to leave, even though the food I had was quite nice. I would only go back at lunchtimes and check who is serving.

Really disappointed with both of our pizzas. Third time we have ordered with Al Forno - - the same two pizzas each time. The first time it was some of the best pizza I’ve ever had, second time it arrived cold and this time it was soo average I wish I’d ordered from Pizza Hut. Literally no love put into it. Won’t be ordering again.

Tomato sauce is one of the greatest I’ve had in my life!

I booked a table for three for Saturday lunch to celebrate my husband’s birthday, but when we arrived, they hadn’t reserved a table for us. This was disappointing and unprofessional. Our server smelled strongly of beer, which was off-putting. He kept insisting we order the Lobster Spaghetti, even though we had already decided on other dishes. It felt very pushy and made the experience uncomfortable. I also asked about the pizza sizes, as we didn’t need a large one after ordering two pastas and garlic bread. Despite this, the server suggested we get the larger size to share. We ended up leaving half of it uneaten. Overall, the service was unhelpful, and the experience was far from what I expected. I wouldn't come back here.

Stopped for pre theatre show dinner and pleased we did. Staff looked after us fabulously from greeting us at the door to leaving, even suggesting we could leave our takeaway pizza box with them until after the show. Pizza itself was huge and tasty hence the need for a takeaway box. Prawns were great too. No hesitation in swapping a glass of Prosecco that lacked a bit of sparkle for us too. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend

We came to Alforno tonight with my friend, we met Monika and Saeed, the managers, and our servers Leticia and Roberto, who welcomed us like family. They all made us feel very special. We could see that they were very busy but they looked after us like we were the only customers in the restaurant. We had the linguine allo scoglio and the gamberoni Arrabbiata, they were freaking delicious. Thank you so much for making our evening so lovely. We will definitely come back here soon and will also recommend your place to our friends and family. Thank you so much for being there for us.
