Abysmal! Food was tasteless and uninspired. Almost everything we had was under-seasoned and the tacos were dry and a little stale. Nice looking restaurant, and great tequila menu, but that's it. You'd be better off going to wahacca.

It feels more like a place for drinks than food which is a shame but that's potentially my fault. Meat was quite chewy and flavourless but the fish was really nice Staff were lovely and drinks were nice although my margarita was on the weaker

If you are planning to have a dinner in this place, I strongly suggest to avoid it. -We've need charged for Tap Water (What a courage !) -You'll have laud speakers next to your ears and won't be able to speak , the room is tiny and against any safety regulation with tables stacked up -You will eat in the Dark, literally you won't be able to see your food -The Staff and management was useless when we asked for a solution -Food is average and super overpriced

I booked a table for 12 people for a birthday meal and can't wait to go back again. I'm surprised at some of the poor reviews on here as I found the staff really friendly and helpful. It was extremely busy but our waitress was lovely and went out of her way to make sure we had what we wanted. The food was excellent and portion size was just right. We went downstairs afterwards, extremely full, for some more fun and cocktails. Music was excellent too!

Cool place for a drink and a small bite but I would not recommend for dinner. Menu is very limited! But food was overall good. Service was meh, and the music too loud.

Completely surreal space, a very fun environment full of good humor on the part of the Staff. Débora has fantastic energy and is very professional. I highly recommend it, almost a mandatory stop.

This place is so confusing. We nearly given it a miss when we arrived at the door, reception was even more confusing even after talking to the lovely lady who made me even more confused and question the place 🤣. Food and service was really good I was actually really surprised!

This place serves the best cocktail in London especially if you are served by Luca !!! My fav recommendation would be Jalapeño margarita & Bloody Mary if you enjoy the the spicy cocktails ❤️❤️

Food it average at best. Portions are small, if the flavour and quality was better portion size wouldn't be a problem, but it is not worth the money or your time. Only positive is the Jalapeño Margarita

Very sad to see this venue hasn't listened to any feedback. I was a regular and hired the entire venue for my birthday in 2016 (David Beckham had his birthday there the same year -- it was a great spot!) The food quality went downhill soon after, to a point of inedible in 2019, and nothing has been done to address it. Tonight I gave feedback to the manager that tortilla chips should not be stale and that tortillas should not be wet upon arrival, as they cannot be used to make a taco when they have holes in them-. I was not asking to not pay for the low quality food, but providing feedback. She was exceptionally rude and told me tha some people like stale crisps and tortillas that are so wet that they have disintegrated into pieces. A sad decline for a place that was once loved. I won't be returning.

Went as fancied something different. Good vibe, good atmosphere. Great location. Food was limited and ok and very keen to get you served and out. If you’re after a quick (ish) snack then it’s great. Drinks are expensive for anything longer

The music is so loud you’ll be screaming to talk to your whoever’s sitting with you. The food is mediocre with tacos which had the tortilla already hard when served and not very tasty - only decent dish was the ceviche. We ordered margarita pitchers for £50 each which were only half full. In the end, we left paying >£90 per person, hungry, and very dissatisfied with the overall service.

Try not to think of this as a restaurant, it's more like a bar that serves food. Sorry to say this just wasn't our vibe! If you've got a decent budget and are more interested in a good selection of tequilas and mezcals than a bite to eat, this might be a better fit for you. The good: - A contemporary take on some authentic Mexican dishes - Our server was pretty on the ball and fantastic at keeping us all hydrated The not so good: - The food is woefully overpriced and underwhelming, especially for the portions they serve. £9.50 for guacamole and tortilla chips (both unseasoned) just wasn't it. Nearly £20 for a serving of their version of tacos al pastor which left me eyeing up a nearby McDonalds afterwards. I know London prices skew a bit higher but I felt mugged! - Some weirdness going on in the kitchen, some of our party didn't get their plates until everyone else was finished and we didn't get that lackluster guacamole until we were pretty much ready to leave (bizarre as this was probably the dish that required the least amount of work to plate up!).

Nice small menu makes you think the food will be executed well. However, the food was bland and extremely overpriced. Stingy flavourless portions. Service was also poor and rude at the end.

Went in November to the Café. Wasn’t particularly busy, I’d guess there to be 50 people spread over about 10 tables? So why on earth we had to wait so long for anything is beyond me. It took 20, yes, 20 minutes to get the bill. A small piece of paper which details what you purchased and how much it costs. 20 minutes. The staff obviously knew their service was poor, they gave the dear lady a free Mojito - which is excellent by the way. The guest IPA was Punk IPA. The menu was about 10 pages. Of which 1 page is the food, and no real direction to it - what is a starter, a main, a dessert? I appreciate its Tapas but it doesn’t really explain. We had 3 plates, the Squid was beautiful. We had Pork as well as truffle enchiladas. I loved it, the wife didn’t. All in all, I wouldn’t come back unless service was drastically improved.

Lively place for a night out with friends. However, food and drinks are quite average for the price. And in terms of atmosphere, it is sold as a "speakeasy" experience but clearly overrated if looking for that

Wouldn't go again. Though a pleasant space with nice staff and nice drinks, the food took over an hour to arrive. I also don't think that the food was particularly flavourful or interesting, either, but by the 70th+ minute of waiting, we ate it. I'm a little depressed that I spent so much money here when there are many great options within walking distance.

This review is for downstairs. If I find that entry on Google Maps, I'll post the review there. In the meantime... I love the quaintness of this place. The decor is unique. Sure, it's been around for 12 years, but it still has a vibe. Extensive list of tequilas and mescals. The menu is small, Gordon Ramsay would approve. The highlight, in my opinion, is the Seabass Ceviche. Turns out the chef is Peruvian! Great atmosphere, friendly service, reasonably priced. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is because not all the dishes made me think "wow, that was incredible." We had: * Guacamole and tortilla chips - standard fare * Sea bass ceviche, amarillo, leche de tigre, totopos - incredible mix of flavours * Prawn tostada, pico de gallo, totopos - lacking in any flavour over and above the strong prawn texture and taste * Prawn taco, amarillo mayo, pineapple pico de gallo - very good * Chicken tacos al pastor, pineapple pico de gallo, chipotle mayo - the second best dish we had, the slight sweetness of the pineapple played will with the chipotle mayo * Seasonal greens, sesame seeds - well cooked, firm, crisp, the sesame seeds gave it a nice lilt in flavour Would definitely return, this place is recommended.

Quiet place for a late lunch. Vast menu of tequilas and mescal. Inventive cocktails as well as standards. Small plates so you can sample a variety. Ceviche was super fresh but I should have ordered two. Sparkling guacamole. The aspersgus with green mole needed a bit of zing but nonetheless delicious.

Big fan of this guy. Not just his facial hair. He knows his drinks and super friendly, would recommend.

Gabriel was super nice and friendly and made us amazing jalapeño margaritas while we chatted a bit. The jalapeño salt is out of this world! Felt so tasty like I was having a full meal. Will come again just for that!

Amount of actual drink no more than a large American glass of margarita costing $12 Prices of dishes appear reasonable but portions are small. Food is above average taste wise. Service friendly and courteous except a manager like figure who appeared a bit brash and asked us to move out of his way. Good atmosphere but music was a little loud for conversation

Authentic Mexican menu (well, as authentic as you can get in central London) with fresh and tasty guacamole. We ate from the set lunch menu which was great value for money and had both full meals and tacos as options for mains. There was plenty of choice for both a vegetarian and gluten-free diet. Food was a little slow to be served, but was worth it when it arrived.

Loved the food and loved the service, sat at the bar as we had not booked and it was full. I would happily recommend and we will return.

Post pandemic is alright to wait for a table, waiting to be served and everything.. but 7.50£ for water (charging 1.50£ per glass per person) without be aware of it... I mean, seriously?!?! Would be better to state that to customers guys. Not happy about that at all. And is understandable even the menu shortage but at this hard times y0u should really consider more vegan options in it. Won't be back.

The place smells like burned area. Staff was kind. They even changed the still water (not bottled), sure, if they want to charge it, it's ok, but they should inform us first. Drinks were perfect (jalapeños margarita & lomas) We've ordered 4 dishes. The first one was a quesadillas dish with black mole and truffle. This one, tastes like vomiting 🤢 definitely didn't worth £11. Then we've ordered 3 kind of tacos. One with chicken which was quite tasty, one named tacos al pastor which was OK and the third one was with mushrooms which was the tastiest taco I've ever eaten. P.S. there's anything "upstairs" there. They should called it ground floor la Bodega negra

Very cosy but also luxurious feeling in the middle of the city. Highly recommended all of the cocktails. Not crowded, but also not empty death. Ideally to chit-chat and relax.

Crap service, felt like an inconvenience. Disinterested staff, waitress seemed bored. Starter came before drinks. Main came before we had finished starter. Smallest tacos I’ve ever seen. Had to wave to get staff attention. The tacos although minescule were pretty tasty but we would definitely not got back.

I would just like to say from the bottom of my heart a big thank you, you made my night! Food was excellent. Drinks were amazing. Atmosphere and music and energy of the staff amazing. The service was incredible. Isabel our waitress was simply amazing. It was a special occasion as it was my mini hen do and you guys managed to make it truly amazing and unforgettable. The food was disappointing especially the £30 ribeye steak. Pork ribeye is better at £18, overall a less than average experience. Wouldn't go back for a meal.

Nice waiting staff, good list of drinks, food is good but annoying to view menus via phone and isn't the best place to have a conversation as the music is too intrusive. Cost is West End prices as you'd expect so not the cheapest night out but overall worth a visit.

Post COVID - sadly, the food is not what it used to be. The cocktails and the service still very good. However, the food was different… unfortunately, overall, the portions were small and the food wad bland - frankly, a disappointment because the food used to be very good. Sometimes a good restaurant loses its edge- the thing that makes it special. I think LBN has lost it.

Delicious food, great service and not bad prices too. The chicken was super crispy and had a good kick of spice. Came with plenty of extras to make your own to the taste you like.

A wonderful place with delightful margaritas and cocktails. Even if it’s just for drinks, the people at the bar will prepare you some cocktails that will stick in your mind as some of the best. The hibiscus margarita for example is just : wow! The food is nice, quite fast, with a decent spice amount! Arrived at 7:30pm without a reservation, we still managed to get a table for 2 immediately. Definitely recommended.

This place is just awesome! It’s the perfect mix between a proper restaurant and a street food place! Went suddenly on a Wednesday and they had ‘live music’ such a latin good vibe to start the weekend mode in the middle of the week. Service was amazing all the staff were very warm and helpful, kitchen supercool as it’s open and you can see them cooking. Amazing “Aubergine Rustica” which is a very good adapted version of the original “Tlayudas” and loved loved loved the Tuna Tostada and the Taquiza, what a explosion of flavors! The cocktails were amazing they have and extended selection of tequilas and you can make up your best personalized margaritas! Unmissable spot for Tacos and Margarita lovers with the perfect Mexican vibe in the Heart of Soho!!

I came from Spain to visit London for few days and my purpose was try every single Mexican restaurant because I LOVE Mexican food, so I went to few of them in central London but nothing like this place, since the moment I went inside the lovely girl with curly hair was super nice to me and she offer me two options...which I choose to have a seat at the bar. Two hours later I was still there because The guys at the bar were talking to me having nice and interesting conversation about tequilas and different types of spirits... basically I spent a whole day drinking different times of tequila and mezcal and having the best chicken fajitas I ever tried, I loved this place so much and I will come back 1 million times more. The service was brilliant and they have the best margarita in London, I really recommend this place.

I’m always with my friends around soho and we found this place which surprised me a lot. Was one of the most funny nights I remember long time ago. The guys at the bar and all the staff were brilliant and the margaritas are the best I ever tried.We also tried few of the tacos in the menu and I loved them. Llegamos a las 5:45 p.m. y nos dijeron que tendríamos la mesa hasta las 7 p.m. Eso estuvo bien para nosotros cuando salíamos al teatro.Desafortunadamente, tuvimos que esperar 15 minutos para la primera bebida y otros 15 minutos para que el camarero venga y tome nuestro pedido. Después de eso, la comida tardó 30 minutos en llegar. Lo que es más, nunca hubo una disculpa y nunca un miembro del personal se molestó por ver si estábamos bien o si quería pedir algo más.Tuvimos que perseguir a nuestro camarero cada vez que queríamos ver dónde estaban nuestras cervezas (después de 15 minutos) y si queríamos algo de comida.Era como si todo el personal estuviera en piloto automático y no le importara en absoluto. Pedimos platos principales tan pronto como llegaron los entrantes, pero después de una espera de 30 minutos, nunca aparecieron, así que tuve que levantarme y decirle al personal que no se molestara.Como teníamos la mesa hasta las 7 de la tarde, nos habría dado menos de 10 minutos para comerlos, pero obviamente no estaban listos, mirando el pase de la cocina.Para agregar un insulto a la lesión, el camarero y también el "gerente" simplemente se encogieron de hombros cuando le expliqué que quería cancelar los platos principales. Solo puedo suponer que el gerente ve este tipo de cosas simplemente como parte del trabajo. No fuimos los únicos que tuvimos esta experiencia, ya que notamos que muchas otras mesas también se enojaron mucho. Durante al menos 30 minutos, ¡juro que no se trajo un solo plato para todo el restaurante! Claro, si hubo un problema genuino en la cocina bien, pero debe informar al huésped al respecto y ofrecer bebidas gratis.Este restaurante no entiende qué es el servicio al cliente.Si fuera el dueño de este lugar, me horrorizaría al leer esto. Presumiblemente, es arrogancia completa porque cobrarán las experiencias de las personas, dada la ubicación. El restaurante estaba medio lleno y parecía haber mucho personal, así que no hay absolutamente ninguna excusa para esta desgracia de un restaurante.No volveremos, y dudo que muchos otros huéspedes que estaban allí al mismo tiempo vuelvan tampoco. This place is amazing for the best range of tequilas in London, great tapas and if you stay long enough you can join the party in the night club in the basement. A total one stop night out destination !

Caminaba por Londres con un par de amigos y al ser de Texas solo tenía que probar este lugar. Fuimos a probar una margarita y terminamos quedándonos por HORAS. El barman (maciek) fue absolutamente increíble. Nos permitió probar nuevas bebidas que estaba pensando en poner en el menú y confiar en mí; si las agrega, debe ir. Las margaritas eran increíbles y el ambiente es moderno y divertido. Hay una rueda que puedes girar para caridad y ganar bebidas gratis. También TOME VENTAJAS DE LA FELIZ HORA (compre una bebida y obtenga la misma gratis). Una visita obligada si estás en Londres! !

Escuché tantas buenas críticas sobre este lugar y tuve que comprobarlo por mí mismo, así que fui allí con un amigo a cenar a mitad de semana y no me decepcionó. El servicio, el ambiente y la comida eran excepcionales. Pedimos nachos y fajitas de pollo para compartir, que era un montón de comida entre nosotros; Me gustó especialmente la margarita de fruta de la pasión. Le sugeriría que reserve mesas ya que la cafetería se llena de gente, le recomiendo este lugar:)

Went for pre-theatre dinner. It had been one stop on a soho food tour last year and enjoyed the tasting then. Food (tacos and fajitas) was very good, but not as good as I remember, so maybe a bit more care taken on the tour. Service very poor. Main served quickly, but did not provide requested water and did not check back to see if everything ok or if we needed anything else. When asked about dessert waiter said they only had churros and walked away without asking if we wanted any. Second waitress came by and was very helpful, but after we ordered, we waited 20+ minutes and asked about delay. She checked and promised “2 minutes”. 5-10 minutes later we cancelled and left to make the play.

Great fun, crazy atmosphere with DJ and lots of tequila around the tables... the menu card was impressive, all tasted nice and the staff was very pro...

Came here for pre-theatre food. We hadn’t booked so ended with seats at the bar but that was fine. Great cocktails, good vibe and friendly service. Food was average though my teenage daughter loved the chicken fajitas.

Não conseguimos mesa no Restaurante aí fomos tentar no café, que é perto, e surpreendentemente conseguimos mesa facilmente. Cardápio variado, ótimo atendimento e excelente custo beneficio. Bem do lado do teatro do Harry Porter !

Asistió ayer a la cena entre las partes 1 y 2 de Harry Potter en el teatro. Nos sorprendió gratamente que nos sentaran inmediatamente, ya que no habíamos reservado. La comida era para morirse. Compartimos el guacamole, la quesadilla rustica y el cerdo rustica para comenzar, luego tres de nosotros comimos panceta de cerdo y tacos de pollo crujientes y uno tenía la hamburguesa. Todos limpiamos nuestros platos en ningún momento. El servicio también fue excelente, gracias a nuestra encantadora camarera australiana y al tipo que jugó con nosotros a la rueda de tiro (creo ... culpo al tequila por lo mal que me sentí hoy, ¡jaja!) Uno de los mejores mexicanos que he tenido y volveremos la próxima vez que vengamos a Londres!

Reservamos una mesa y el anfitrión no tenía nuestra reserva. Tuvimos que demostrarlo mostrándole nuestro bookatable. La camarera comenzó bien, pero pronto perdió interés en nuestra mesa. Tenía entrantes muy sabrosos y en buen momento. Una hora y media después, hemos tenido que perseguir tres servidores diferentes para nuestro curso principal. ¿Todos los servidores fueron perseguidos por bebidas y agua también?

He visitado aquí varias veces en los últimos años y el lugar ha ido considerablemente cuesta abajo. Los precios son extravagantes teniendo en cuenta la calidad y cantidad de alimentos que recibe. El servicio fue amable, pero lamentablemente ahí es donde terminan los aspectos positivos. No he sentido que esto haya sido estafado por tan miserables porciones y comida blanda en mucho tiempo. Evitar.

Vi hade bokat bord i restaurangen men det visade sig att vi missat att barn inte var tillåtna där. Så vi fick sitta i baren.... Mycket var slut av rätterna och det gick inte att personalen hämtade från restaurangen, av någon anledning. Vi åt lite mexikansk tapas som dock var supergod. Personalen var också jättetrevlig så det blev ändå bra.

Didn't book anywhere to eat so tried the cafe and was surprised at how quiet it was for a mid-week restaurant. Plenty of tables and the service was good. Food was yummy as expected and had a very pleasant experience.

We had heard good things about this place about 5 years ago. We finally got around to going and it was so bad. Very miserable staff from the off, which felt a real shame - I do hope they’re being treated properly! It took a long time to get to order, so we ended up doing drinks, starters and mains all in one hit. A good 10 minutes later my fiancé’s drink arrived, but not our bottle of water. After asking the next passing waiting (our one was gone in a shot) we waited a further 5 or so for a bottle to arrive. Still no nachos/chips with dips. After some unbelievable and awkward hanging-about, we asked a waiter if our chips were coming. He looked blankly and walked away. On his return he said “They’re just being cooked”. Next thing we know, our mains arrive, along with a plate of chips. They were not hot, so they weren’t being cooked at all, but they were passable. The mains were far worse. Just no real flavour. No heat to the mushroom fajitas and the veggie burrito was NOT a burrito. No rice in it, no sour cream, no cheese, no beans. It was a glorified wrap. All it tasted of, was supermarket bought pickled cabbage. In Pret you’d maybe spend £4 on this. Sitting in somewhere else you may pay £6 for such tasteless rubbish, if you’re unlucky. But at £11, this is an absolute joke!! I did ask the waiter if this was technically a burrito, and if it usually came with rice in it. His response was: “Sometimes they do.” SOMETIMES?! Haha! What!! Ha! He did later explain that the veggie burrito in fact doesn’t ever come with rice, beans, sour cream, cheese, salsa or guacamole. So it’s not really a burrito. I should have had a closer look on the menu, I guess! Ah well. I’ll never go back. Ever. It was just so bad. We did notice the two other tables next to us, having the exact same issues with their starters. Felt sorry for them as they were both groups of tourists out for a good night. Poor buggers.

After a very random night out the decision was made to revisit a renounced restaurant and yet again, the food did not disappoint but the Sex toys did! But on a serious note, our waiter Islam was most delightful and very accommodating!

We were told this and the sister restaurant on Old Compton Street was the best Mexican in London.

Great place! Went in with prior recommendations and would definitely say we had a great time. The MEZCALLTA was terrific. The food wasn’t too spicy but they have super sauces to suit your spice levels! Service was OK nothing to write home about TBH! It’s a cool spot in a cool part of London. Go check it out!

I thought it was expensive for what I got but maybe I just ordered wrong...usually love Mexican food so I. Sure dinner is a better experience, not a great quick lunch option. Staff were super nice and friendly though.

This is a fun little place. Don't go in with lofty expectations -it's tequila and tacos, plain and simple. The guac is good, the portions are small, but everything tasted great and it's an easy vibe.

Well, we ask for a quesadillas. Meat was from days ago with hard parts that revealed was cooked days ago and warm to serve. Was in huge pieces, low meat quality not for quesadillas. The smell was horrible. The price...better fire the money.

We ordered some margaritas and some tacos and the Bartender advised us to play the roulette that they have in front of the bar for 1 pound, Prize! we had two frozen margaritas ... everything was great until we got hungry and talking to my friend where we could go to dinner, the very attentive Bartender advised us to go to the restaurant of La Bodega Negra we paid the Bill and went in search of the restaurant that was a few meters from the bar, we sat at the table we took our time to order the food, but we were undecided and asked the recommendation of the waiter, whom we invited to come to our work to enjoy as we were enjoying yours , they invited us to some shots of tequila, Great we accepted them, when we asked for the account everything started to go wrong the waiter threw us the bill at the table like when you throw a coin at a homeless, when we saw the account we realized they had charged us for the shots of tequila they gave us, that night we had spent 200 pounds more or less between two people between the bar and the restaurant and the gesture of throwing ourselves the bill at the table was very unprofessional ... we asked for the service Charge to be removed, then the manager named Kate arrived, a woman who seemed very nice but the truth was very unprofessional with us and very rude she ruined the night , asked us if there was a problem with a very ugly look and not to cause problems to the one who threw us the bill at the table, we did not want to give many explanations about what happened, she charged us and asked us to leave the restaurant, that We had been very rude with the staff ... we did not even finish the bottle of Rioja of , I am very angry with this person I hope I never have to see her again! I will never come back

Food is good. Service is great. Not too special but would definitely return

Estábamos muy decepcionados con este lugar. Fuimos en un día muy caluroso, porque nos dimos cuenta de que las ventanas abiertas y el ambiente animado. El servicio era realmente buena. Las camareras y el director masculino era muy amable y atento. Por desgracia, la comida era muy mala. Todos muy repetitiva y sosa. Todo parecía igual y los nachos estaban rancios. Una lástima porque parecía muy prometedor! Si estás buscando comida mejicana no head aquí!

La comida era buena, pero no fuera de lo normal! El servicio fue rápido tanto para comida y bebidas. Lo que ayudó fue que el restaurante está justo al otro lado del palacio, así que si ve a ver el juego de Harry Potter puede tomar un bocado rápido entre las partes:)

Very cozy and welcoming. The wait for a table was not long. The food was good and the drinks great. Only issue is there was only one bathroom stall for the whole bar. Other than that, great.

Excellent service and friendly staff, food is excellent

Éramos un grupo y uno de mis amigos realmente quería un burrito, así que fuimos a la mexicana más cercana a nosotros. Las bebidas estaban bien, pero la comida estaba sin sabor, fresco, la carne de los tacos era superficial calentado en vez de cocinada en orden y el personal fue un completo desastre: no explicando los platos, ponen juntos en una placa de la orden por dos personas diferentes, no les digas y uno de los dos estaba esperando la comida para siempre, sin saber que había sido servido de esa manera. Preguntamos por la parte que falta y nos dijeron "que comimos ya "como ladrones! Nos explicó el camarero falló en explicar la comida y en vez de recibir una disculpa, nos trataron de forma grosera, con nuestro camarero sólo abordar el único miembro masculino en el grupo que no estaba ni siquiera hablar con él. El chico era pasar gratis, segundo en la única camarera golpeando mujeres en la habitación, delante de cliente y parecía tener cero interés en la felicidad de los clientes. Nos hicieron sentir mal y arruinó nuestra noche. Pedimos la cuenta y nos trajeron una factura por £32 que no era la nuestra. Se lo dije y nos trajo la cuenta a la derecha, que era más de £130. Él simplemente no le importa, no sorprendió que no me di cuenta de que era demasiado poco para lo que habíamos pedido! Nunca más, a menos que el cambio personal y chef.

Just finished eating here after HP, food was really good and the staff attentive, had the steak fajitas and a burrito which were both great!

Cosy venue with excellent food and cocktails. Perfect location for central London and theatre land. Fabulous service with a smile. They now take bookings which is a huge plus.

I have issues with this place. It's all about the service and good empty tables but being put on an awful table. I had to tell the maitre de that I was sitting somewhere else and he got angry. But the food and booze is good.
