Kwok Lai Chinese Take Away in Runnymede

Ordered via JUST EAT. Delivery guy phoned me twice but hung up when I answered. I called him back but didn't answer the call. I called the Take away who gave me the wrong address for my order and blamed JUST EAT. I have to say JUST EAT have not got my address wrong prior to this. I asked if they could delivery fresh 1 hour later which they did but it was just the first delivery reheated. The pork balls were limp. No apology and JUST EAT are of no use at all. Both Kwok Lai Chinese Take Away and JUST EAT need to get their act together. The food was dreadful by the way.

All food is excellent here. Fresh and super tasty. I like my Singapour noodles very spicy, so I ask and they are happy to accomodate. Thank you

Open for collection and delivery. Kwok Lai is a Friday night MUST! The food is well cooked, very tasty, hot and the portions are big! Recommend the crispy duck with hoison and pancakes, it's moist, fresh and plentiful. Try it, I promise you will love it and go back for more.

Delicious food , arrived on time! Ordered chicken curry, fried rice, chicken balls , roast pork, really well cooked

We have used this Chinese for the past 20 years.The food is always hot and tasty. I highly recommend duck, singapour noodles and their amazing spicy squid.Thank you guys.

Ordered chicken balls, chicken chop sui, singapour thin noodles (hot), crispy duck with pancakes and deep fried squid salt and pepper and honestly every dish for all 4 or us was amazing, tasty, hot and quick delivery. I'm shocked by some reviews but we have been ordering from here for past 20 years, various dishes and food combo's with no complaint and service has ALWAYS been fantastic. If you want to tweak any dish just ask, from our experience they are more than happy to please.

Had a duck chow mien this evening , it was nothing but duck fat and grease ! No flavour at all ! I also had sweet and sour pork balls which were mediocre at best The prawn crackers were like eating bits of slate coated in grease ! I’d guess re cooked ones from a week ago ! I went back to complain ! They refunded reluctantly the chow main only ! A conscientious restaurant / take away owner would have offered a full refund ! When I questioned nearly needing dental treatment from the prawn crackers I was told “that’s how they are “ utterly disgusting!! Won’t be going back ! I would avoid at all costs ! The server talked to me like I was beneath him ! His attitude was like “ yeah ... and” hence bad review ! Avoid avoid avoid

This takeaway is superb, it cooks up piping hot beautiful food , we order regularly, cooked to perfection and the owners are a delight to know, always helpful, Delicious Food, Congrats!

Ordered a takeaway tonight. Started to eat chicken chop suey and realised chicken not cooked. King prawn balls tasteless and mainly batter. Did not continue to eat straight to bin.

After being a regular for years the customer service I received tonight was dreadful so they obviously couldn’t care less about retaining customers. No service with a smile since the takeover and food quality has deteriorated My advice, go to Ricky’s in Chertsey

I'm so angry with the "quality" of the food, after explaining how bad it was on a phonecall & getting the response "that's what we do" I literally told her "you're food is f+ing sh-t". Pictures of Thai Chicken. Who's ever seen chicken like that, let alone Thai Chicken. I was expecting chillie & fresh tasting galangal etc. Cantonese chicken (battered) has no chicken in the batter parcel. Egg fried rice is over cooked much in bad oil. I am actually shocked at just how bad it is. The worst Chinese in a very long time.

Just had the worst takeaway of my life at the Kwok Lei. I ordered a chicken and Currey and vegetable Curry plus 2 portions of egg fries rice. The rice was cooked in old fat and had no egg and tasted awful the Chicken curry was full of vegetables and the chicken was like steamed fat the curry had no flavour and was full of grease. Both meals went straight in the bin absolute rubbish I won't ever go back. They don't deserve custom.

Good quality of food and worth for money.Always a winner in the area for good tasting Chinese food.Highly recommend for friends.

We had a take away tonight as a treat, trying Kwok Lai as our previous restaurant/take away has now closed. What a huge disappointment. Pork was fatty and minimal. Meals were packed full of onions and peppers and little else. King prawn balls were huge soggy blobs and tasteless. And I am sure it was full of MSG , so hangover expected in the morning.

Ok so it was a Friday night but I walked in at 8:15pm and there was not one mention of how long it was going to take. It was only when the telephone orders started and she was saying 1h30. Happy to take the order and money but would prefer to be told honestly how long it would be to wait!! Let see what the food tastes like!

Not great, fairly bland and uninspiring, however prompt delivery. If you want to eat from here it won't kill you!

Sinceramente la mejor comida para llevar china. . . Mi familia y yo hemos usado este para llevar los últimos 14 años y se han mudado o incluso automóviles fuera de la zona todavía viajar a China para obtener mi Addlestone desde aquí! ! He probado la mayoría de platos a lo largo de los años y sí no todos a mi gusto, pero siempre es bueno, limpio y agradable. Si la entrega tarda un rato sólo refleja en lo ocupado que es! !

I have been coming to this take away for several years now and have always had perfect service. The food is very tasty and the lady who deals with orders is lovely. Always get little treats with my order.

Good food delivered to the door. Try the salted prawns and Peking duck both excellent. Good service.

Used this takeaway a couple of times, nothing special ... Friday night I got a takeaway and have spent (so far) two days in bed with food poisoning and so has my husband ... The only other Person who ate the food. Not impressed.

Los fideos estaban viscosa y le faltaba el sabor que estoy acostumbrado a así que no voy a volver allí. Yo estaba saliendo de un turno largo y pensamos en probar este después de estar decepcionado por la carretera de vuelta en su. Lo siento chicos, tienes que encender la chef/s o servir comida fresca por favor de lo contrario se pierde un ventilador de chinos que podrían haber sido enganchado alrededor de la puerta porque estoy a 5 minutos de distancia. Lo siento.

Sólo la orden desde aquí si no eres demasiado hambre. La comida estaba bastante bien cuando llegó, pero nos tomó casi dos horas... Yo peldaño dos veces para ver cómo sería largo y me dijeron que estaban muy ocupados y que vivía lejos. En realidad, me llamó cuando abrieron a las 5 así que lo lleno podría han sido? También está a sólo 20 minutos en coche desde mi casa así que estás diciendo que tardaron 1 hora y 40 minutos para cocinar la comida? No lo creo. Una pena, porque como he dicho, la comida estaba bien.

I have been eating here for many years, lovely people, great tasting food and good variety, always a good delivery service.

Very good meal, had the smoked chicken, crispy aromatic duck and wonton soup. Their delivery service is a little slow during peak time, so I normally go and collect to save time.

Had a full blown meal with all trimmings and it turned out to be the worst Chinese meal we`be ever had, each dish tasted the same so certainly won't be going back.

Having used this take away for many years I stopped after two incidents of upset stomach with seafood dishes early last year. I was persuaded by a neighbour to try again .. but was hugely disappointed with the attitude of the lady on the phone and then by the food. For example the prawn toast was greasy, the scehzwan was tasteless, the crispy beef had very little beef and the sweet and sour sauce had a film on top (trobably from repeated reheating in a microwave).. then we both had upset stomach again the next day. Wont give it another try.

Terrible service. Great food. Always use this place, now I wont ever again. 2 HOURS WAITING TIME. Rude lady on phone repeatedly fobbed me off with 'its saturday night' 'the driver has just left' 'you're the next delivery' 'its a big delivery' for 2 hours, i even offered to go and pick it up if it woufl be easier but was told it was on its way......Never had a problem before and really annoyed that its put me off as I've always liked this place. Would have been a different story if there had been a discount or decent apology instead of treating me like an idiot and keeping saying it was on its way when it clearly wasnt. Next time i'll use somewhere with a time guarentee.

Used for 16 years and the same people own it. The food is just incredible. Never bad and always Hot!!

Friendly staff and a slightly different menu choice to the normal Chinese we go to, but they were able to accommodate any requests.

Ordered to be delivered, some of the vegetarian food turned up with pork and prawn in it. A replacement was delivered, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. The food was nice, not greasy and delivered at a good temperature.
