My Husband and friends came to the Magic Wok on 19th Jan 2024 as it was my husbands birthday , the staff did not previously know this but could see presents and cards being given out. After we had eaten our meal the staff appeared with a cheese cake birthday cake with a rocket candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to my husband and give us party popper and a small glass of Baileys for the women ,amazing in this day and age really went over and above. The food is wonderful and we shall be returning for my birthday in February

Authentic Chinese food. I recommend you to discover the Chinese language menu section. Google translator works best. When I found this restaurant, I stopped going to other Chinese restaurants. Perfect for me.

Absolutely awful food, atmosphere nil and service very slow. Avoid at all costs!

I was hopeful for this restaurant as it seems to be family run and the reviews were pretty good, however I was left disappointed with the quality of the food. The hot & sour soup almost certainly came out of a can, and I strongly suspect that the chicken and pork in our mains was previous frozen. The duck pancakes were very nice though.

Have never had a good experience here. I live 30 seconds away and will order from staines rather than this place. The food is vile. After a bad order a few years ago I thought I'd give them another go, that was a mistake. The dumplings were raw, the ribs looked like scrap off cuts and they gave me the wrong noodle dish which was sour. Their EHO score of 2/5 should be a 1 at best. Even going into collect the food the staff were rude

Don’t bother! Had a take away that we collected tonight. Food was greasy, tasteless, done of it was burnt and ordered pork chow mien and received chicken! Worst Chinese we have had for a very long time disappointing £40+ in the bin. If I could give zero stars I would.

The Special Fried Rice here is the most delicious food for me, and every dish here is full of the taste of hometown, which makes me homesick.

Magic Wok is such a fantastic place to eat out in, parking available nearby in Egham High Street (free). Food was great (although slightly expensive but not as much as overpriced) and in great portions, also pretty authentic. Atmosphere was lovely and staff were friendly. Recommend.

Ordered here take away..disgusting food..dont know how to cook a simple chicken currey.ribs where tasteless..never again

We ordered dumplings pricing 5 pounds and they served us only two pieces of them in a box. Horrible behaviour of the owner. Really very dissapointing.

Fantastic Chinese Restaurant in Egham. First of all, their Ice Lemon Tea is the closest thing to Swiss Migros Iced Tea (if you know, you know!) The shrimp fried rice was fine but needed some additional seasoning for my own taste. Chilli sauce and soy. The Duck was superb. I saw a table across from us having “hot pot” and looked truly delicious. No reservation needed. Staff were very friendly and fast.

AVOID TOO EXPENSIVE! £9 average PER DISH! Is the standard, JUNK FOOD STYLE takeaway Chinese you get everywhere in the country, but the NEW prices are for rich people only. You pay over 1 hour at minimum wage per dish. Plenty of OTHER Chinese as good or better are cheaper in the area. There's a place in Chertsey with IDENTICAL FOOD AT 2/3 OF THE PRICE. RIP Magic Wok!

Staying at the Runnymead Spa Hotel (over priced, poor service) and visited this restaurant. Very warmly greeted, really nice food and my wife and two teenage sons and I really enjoyed the meal and very friendly service. Thank you so much for the kind hospitality and well done.

Utterly delicious food. Had seaweed, crispy duck, noodle soup, sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice and chicken balls, as an introduction for my children to this genre of food. So tasty, all of it. Excellent service. Leftovers willingly packed up as takeaway. Prawn crackers for the table, and fortune cookie, orange slices, hot lemon towel and mint to finish up with. Cutlery offered. Attentive but not intrusive waiting staff. Seemed family run and authentic. Very reasonably priced. Well recommended.

Been here for 2-3 years. Comfortable restaurant with good selection of food. The food is good, sometimes it does vary for some reason, but in general it’s good. On the pricey side, but it’s 1 of the 2 Chinese restaurants you can find in Egham.

Staying in the area and stupidly I didn’t read the reviews, just noticed that it had 4 stars, 4 too many in my opinion, I picked up my takeout and back to the hotel, two mouthfuls later and it is now in the bin, terrible food and as other's have said, overpriced,

I’m Asian and I’m a local. I have been eating a lot of different Chinese restaurants in London and the U.K. the food here is the best Chinese food for me. The service is excellent. It is great to eat in or take away. Both services have never let me down. Can’t wait to going back again. 😉

Ordered crispy shredded beef in chili sauce and sweet and sour prawn balls. The crispy shredded beef was very crispy, however, this can be explained by the fact that it had virtually no sauce. The prawn balls themselves were ok but the sweet and sour sauce that came separately was unlike any sweet and sour sauce I've had - it had a brown colour instead of the usual red, wasn't sweet, and tasted and smelled strongly of vinegar. Very off-putting. Although this particular order is the second worst Chinese meal I have ever ordered, the reasons why I am not giving it 1 star is because they usually give a decent sized complementary bag of prawn crackers, previous orders haven't been as bad (they were average at most), and the food isn't as bad as 1423 China kitchen which is the worst Chinese food I have tasted. Edit: forgot to mention that the food is very overpriced for what it is.

One of the best Chinese meals I've had.

The food was tasty once served. The restaurant staff are more interested in their take away clients. They welcomed us in . Then we had to ask to be served. Then in walks a take away client and the ladies tells them they will have to wait 20 minutes, they ask for refreshments, she gets them. Ignoring us. We ask again, we wait. Eventually we have to complain to get someone to take our order. Not good enough, this has happened before and we thought it was a one off then, now we know otherwise. Will think twice before going again .

Good food, have good selection of bao.

It's not that flashy but its exactly what I like from a Chinese restaurant. Good grub and Chinese people go there too. It can't be that bad.

There are a lot of choices in the menu and the service are good. The price are reasonable. Lunch menu is good value for around £8.

The food was delicious and the staff were polite. One thing to note is that they give you a discount if you pay in cash. (There is a cash machine opposite the restaurant at the petrol station where you can withdraw cash.)

Clean, friendly and mouth watering food!

在英国那么多年从来没见过那么没素质的店员，以前住附近店里点了几十次餐不止，这个餐厅从来是坐不满的。今天打电话订餐，店员接了电话不讲话5分钟说在忙，一句解释没有，然后说点不点，说我在耽误大家时间，态度很不耐烦。谁耽误谁的时间，一个店员拿着工资让顾客等了五分钟交代都没有，没有道歉，还一副吵架的态度，没有能力工作就不要做，开店做生意这样说话，你们这样的态度，要不然店别开了好吧，在英国没见过那么恶心的服务，开餐厅开成这样，一言不合还挂电话，这种素质开除吧。应该是同一个店员，两个月前去店里，也是一副大便脸，付完钱一句谢谢都没有，还各种抱怨，饭都吃完了菜还没上齐，也没有一句解释或者道歉，估计是和老板关系不好还是家里出事了，这么一副样子在工作。

The best Chinese in Egham / Windsor area.

I've been here for more than 2 years, and I've been eating here for quite some time. Sort of like a family friendly restaurant, very chill and relaxing place for a good meal, but the price can be slightly expensive given the fact that post COVID affected the restaurant. Service is good, the environment is comfortable and clean with 2 nice, big toilets. If you find the price a bit hard to swallow, then avoid the vegetable dishes as they are £8, I'll rather choose the meat dishes which cost about the same or slightly more. If you're getting rice dishes other than normal rice or egg friend rice, note that there won't be any seasoning to it, as they are to be eaten with other dishes. If you're eating it as it is, please let them know that and ask them to put in flavour/seasoning into it. If you're looking for recommendation, spicy dishes are good here, like the Crispy Chicken with Red Chilli and the Szechuan Spice Fish Hotpot. Something that goes well with rice is definitely the Braised Beef Brisket & Moonlit, one of my recommended dish to have for any season. Sweet and sour dishes are actually really good, like sweet Nd sour chicken, highly recommend it. Pork dishes, you can try the Spare Ribs with Chinkiang vinegar Sauce if you're up for something sour and tasty, else, go with the classic Red Braised Spare Ribs. Lastly, note that the food can be oily, and if you're not up for that, let them know to put less oil for all the dishes ordered.

Went in there not expecting much from a barely filled restaurant with only 2 other people at peak lunch time but it was good. Paid around 25 quid for 2 people including beers and a free soup and prawn crackers. Nice, quick cheap and easy

When we had lots of Chinese students at Royal Holloway university they all came here for lunch because it’s genuine real Chinese food. I know as I used to live there and my wife is Chinese. Lunch menu is good value. Lots of choices for only £8.50 including soup. Recommended if you like real Chinese food.

the food isn't terrible but it is pretty greasy. defiantly wouldn't order the egg fried rice again as it was burnt but the rest of the food was fine.

The foods expensive and oily. Was recommended the most expensive chicken dish. ( chuan Nan spice chicken) only for it to be fried chicken cartilage drenched in chilli oil and fried to a crisp. Absolutely no flavour but chilli. And ordered the king prawns which tasted frozen and way too oily Dead munch overall

Have always loved the Magic Wok, as always food delicious, unfortunately post Covid they have hiked their prices, so we'll not be the regular customers that we've been in the past.

Nicest Chinese meal we have had in ages, first time we have used this restaurant but for sure not the last. Only marked down as it is a little on the pricey side, but that said you get what you pay for.

Came down from liverpool for a fishin trip with the lads. Searched local delivery take outs and found this chinese. Were do i start...? The only words i have are diabolical. Special fried rice was nothin more than boiled rice with some onion and prawns thrown in.. tasteless. Shocking. The ribs were chewy gristle little pieces wjth more meat on s butchers pencil. The curry sauce tasted like oxtail souo! Please avoid at all costs. Fully shocking experience.

My fiance and I love the food here. We've had to relocate up the country for this year due to health problems but we drove 40 minutes to pick up our favourite Chinese the other day (not for the first or last time). The staff are always lovely, the food is always fantastic and cooked really quickly, couldn't recommend more.

It's was my first time there and food was good

This evening my partner and I ordered from Magic Wok expecting great things due to the extortionate price of the sweet and sour. Unfortunately, when the food arrived it wasn't as good as the worringly vague menu description had lead us to believe. Poo food, over priced.

Fantastic Chinese food, I rang and ordered and the food was ready to be collected within 20 minutes of ordering. We have never received anything other than great service and great food!

The quality is good overall. The attention and delivery are good and effective. We missed the prawn crackers last time, though!

Have been using Magic wok for takeaways since lockdown. We’re happily getting the same great traditional Chinese food that the restaurant offers at home. Although they do the typical sweet and sour westernised dishes that other Chinese takeaways do, they have a great selection of mainland styles that reward the brave.

Ordered a delivery for 7:30,it arrived at 7:30. It was the best Chinese takeaway that we have had. Go for the dim sum starters, they are the best.

Excellent well cooked food - with some unusual dishes on the takeaway and restaurant menu. Service is quick and food always excellent. Go here regularly for lunch and also takeaway.

Sadly not as good as usual. Lemon chicken sat on cold pineapple made the food cold. Duck was extremely fatty. Staff are always very pleasant

They do a lunch time special in the week portion is very generous at £7.50 includes rice plus a meat dish or chow win and a meat/veg dish Their menu is very good and food is authentic and reasonable for evening dinner too

Having lived in Singapore for 2.5 years and eaten authentic Chinese foodI can say this is the best Chinese food I have tasted for long time. What put me on to this restaurant was that there were several Chinese families eating there always a good sign.

The best Chinese food for miles! I love Chinese food, always have, and this is some of the best Chinese I've had without flying to the far east. The restaurant is always full of Chinese people which is a good indication. My girlfriend who is Chinese herself agrees although she orders from the 'secret' menu they have for actual Chinese guests. It's not even that pricey.

I had a late lunch with my family last week and we really enjoyed it. Even though the ambience is not fantastic, the food is vey good and at a reasonable price. I will definitely come again.
