This place is agem and it's always great to go there, one of the best Chinese food restaurants I have ever been. Love the homestyle tofu with the best chilli oil ever! They even have green beans as a dish, a Vegetarian heaven! Staff are so nice they remember you and greet you even when they are so busy. You are given a lovely complimentery orange slices at the end too. It's nice to eat somewhere where staff are happy 😊

Nice little find. Food was mostly of excellent quality - the Prawn toast had a slightly vinegary taste to it - but the rest was fabulous. Chicken in Garlic and the scallops were a highlight - will deffo be ordering again!

First time ordering im in staines they delivered quickly earlier than quoted. And gave big bag of prawn crackers (im finding other places arent giving them you have to buy tgem costing £3.00+. ) Lovely delivery man friendly and called my number as asked. Food lovely hot and not stingy on ingredients.

On the outskirts of Egham High Street lies this gem of a restaurant. We popped in on a Saturday lunchtime and the place was packed (mostly with Chinese folk, which is a good sign!) We ordered the mixed starters and had chicken sweet and sour Hong Kong style for main with egg fried rice. The food was very nice indeed. Oddly although I love sweet and sour, normally from all other places it is just sweet in taste. This sauce here actually was sweet but also a little bit sour. Sounds like I'm stating the obvious but have never experienced that slight sour flavour before. Really tasty. People say the restaurant serves authentic Chinese food but we have been before to one in Windsor (1432) and that is what I would call authentic - we didn't really enjoy that one. Call me a sell out but I prefer the Chinese food for Western palates like we had here in Egham!

Food is not that good now… I like noodles here rest all dishes are average in taste…. Maybe you like the taste but for me it’s very average

It can be combined into a table with six dishes and one soup, or you can order individually. The taste is moderately salty, there are many choices of hot and stir-fried meat, and it can be served quickly.

My Husband and friends came to the Magic Wok on 19th Jan 2024 as it was my husbands birthday , the staff did not previously know this but could see presents and cards being given out. After we had eaten our meal the staff appeared with a cheese cake birthday cake with a rocket candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to my husband and give us party popper and a small glass of Baileys for the women ,amazing in this day and age really went over and above. The food is wonderful and we shall be returning for my birthday in February

Authentic Chinese food. I recommend you to discover the Chinese language menu section. Google translator works best. When I found this restaurant, I stopped going to other Chinese restaurants. Perfect for me.

Best Chinese restaurant in the area, by a long way.

Not that much chicken in the fried rice and seemed a bit expensive for what you got, did appreciate the free crackers tho and it did fill me up. It did the job.

Honestly worst Chinese I have ever eaten, chicken was revolting.. didn’t even taste of chicken…Would definitely not order from here again.

I was hopeful for this restaurant as it seems to be family run and the reviews were pretty good, however I was left disappointed with the quality of the food. The hot & sour soup almost certainly came out of a can, and I strongly suspect that the chicken and pork in our mains was previous frozen. The duck pancakes were very nice though.

Have never had a good experience here. I live 30 seconds away and will order from staines rather than this place. The food is vile. After a bad order a few years ago I thought I'd give them another go, that was a mistake. The dumplings were raw, the ribs looked like scrap off cuts and they gave me the wrong noodle dish which was sour. Their EHO score of 2/5 should be a 1 at best. Even going into collect the food the staff were rude

Don’t bother! Had a take away that we collected tonight. Food was greasy, tasteless, done of it was burnt and ordered pork chow mien and received chicken! Worst Chinese we have had for a very long time disappointing £40+ in the bin. If I could give zero stars I would.

Scrumptious food, will definitely order again

Food was very poor quality. Special fried rice was very oily, crispy chicken with chilli was literally floury battered chicken chunks with a lose chilli - very dry, dim sum were nice but tiny. Prawn crackers also very oily. I ate half then had to throw the rest away - it was that bad, I have never thrown away so much until now. If this is the standard for this restaurant I won’t be ordering from them again. Also expensive when compared to other restaurants so expected a decent level of qualify - it wasn’t.!

Specifically asked not to knock on the door or ring door bell as kids on bed from 8, deliver guy pushed door bell 4 times in 6 seconds!!! Woke up the complete street!!! Such a shame they are not reading the notes and more interested in taking the money Food was ok, ordered egg fried rice, got Special fried rice, ok if your not allergic to fish Chicken curry very loose, to much sauce. Satay chicken on skewer’s - very nice

The Special Fried Rice here is the most delicious food for me, and every dish here is full of the taste of hometown, which makes me homesick.

Usually order often. However not sure what happened - the prices have significantly gone up. £27 for chicken main, rice and side of spring rolls. The quality didn’t match, not very tasty. Very disappointed

Magic Wok is such a fantastic place to eat out in, parking available nearby in Egham High Street (free). Food was great (although slightly expensive but not as much as overpriced) and in great portions, also pretty authentic. Atmosphere was lovely and staff were friendly. Recommend.

I ordered beef but ended up with lamb. I can’t eat lamb which give me great sensitivity if lamb taste. Also the fish wasn’t freshly made, looks having old fish pieces and adding new pieces into it. Horrible. I hope they didn’t collect other people’s left over and adding new ingredients into it ! Scary stuff to be honest.

Chicken noodles were edible but bland. Double fried pork was full of fat and tasted like it had been boiled, very oily. Not impressed.

Fantastic Chinese Restaurant in Egham. First of all, their Ice Lemon Tea is the closest thing to Swiss Migros Iced Tea (if you know, you know!) The shrimp fried rice was fine but needed some additional seasoning for my own taste. Chilli sauce and soy. The Duck was superb. I saw a table across from us having “hot pot” and looked truly delicious. No reservation needed. Staff were very friendly and fast.

Ordered at 13.17 said it would arrive at 14:00 it arrived at 14.59 Ordered no veg in chow mien, it had full veg Sweet and sour sauce had leaked over bags. Won’t be using again

AVOID TOO EXPENSIVE! £9 average PER DISH! Is the standard, JUNK FOOD STYLE takeaway Chinese you get everywhere in the country, but the NEW prices are for rich people only. You pay over 1 hour at minimum wage per dish. Plenty of OTHER Chinese as good or better are cheaper in the area. There's a place in Chertsey with IDENTICAL FOOD AT 2/3 OF THE PRICE. RIP Magic Wok!

There was no wonton soup, even though I ordered it!!!

Staying at the Runnymead Spa Hotel (over priced, poor service) and visited this restaurant. Very warmly greeted, really nice food and my wife and two teenage sons and I really enjoyed the meal and very friendly service. Thank you so much for the kind hospitality and well done.

Utterly delicious food. Had seaweed, crispy duck, noodle soup, sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice and chicken balls, as an introduction for my children to this genre of food. So tasty, all of it. Excellent service. Leftovers willingly packed up as takeaway. Prawn crackers for the table, and fortune cookie, orange slices, hot lemon towel and mint to finish up with. Cutlery offered. Attentive but not intrusive waiting staff. Seemed family run and authentic. Very reasonably priced. Well recommended.

Been here for 2-3 years. Comfortable restaurant with good selection of food. The food is good, sometimes it does vary for some reason, but in general it’s good. On the pricey side, but it’s 1 of the 2 Chinese restaurants you can find in Egham.

Staying in the area and stupidly I didn’t read the reviews, just noticed that it had 4 stars, 4 too many in my opinion, I picked up my takeout and back to the hotel, two mouthfuls later and it is now in the bin, terrible food and as other's have said, overpriced,

I’m Asian and I’m a local. I have been eating a lot of different Chinese restaurants in London and the U.K. the food here is the best Chinese food for me. The service is excellent. It is great to eat in or take away. Both services have never let me down. Can’t wait to going back again. 😉

It did the job. The mains were good but the starters were really oily. Also tasted like the oil was reused. Unfortunate. Also the menu needs more description. Calling in to get an allergy check on food for everything I am not sure about is not great as the phone does not always get picked up. List ingredients please, as I bit into a spring roll and there was shrimp. Luckly I noticed and didnt swallow.

Ordered crispy shredded beef in chili sauce and sweet and sour prawn balls. The crispy shredded beef was very crispy, however, this can be explained by the fact that it had virtually no sauce. The prawn balls themselves were ok but the sweet and sour sauce that came separately was unlike any sweet and sour sauce I've had - it had a brown colour instead of the usual red, wasn't sweet, and tasted and smelled strongly of vinegar. Very off-putting. Although this particular order is the second worst Chinese meal I have ever ordered, the reasons why I am not giving it 1 star is because they usually give a decent sized complementary bag of prawn crackers, previous orders haven't been as bad (they were average at most), and the food isn't as bad as 1423 China kitchen which is the worst Chinese food I have tasted. Edit: forgot to mention that the food is very overpriced for what it is.

One of the best Chinese meals I've had.

The food was tasty once served. The restaurant staff are more interested in their take away clients. They welcomed us in . Then we had to ask to be served. Then in walks a take away client and the ladies tells them they will have to wait 20 minutes, they ask for refreshments, she gets them. Ignoring us. We ask again, we wait. Eventually we have to complain to get someone to take our order. Not good enough, this has happened before and we thought it was a one off then, now we know otherwise. Will think twice before going again .

It's not that flashy but its exactly what I like from a Chinese restaurant. Good grub and Chinese people go there too. It can't be that bad.

I couldn't have one bite from my cashew chicken. It had a strong vinegar smell. I could only eat the egg fried rice.
