Food was whack like crack or smack

Food delivered within 10 mins of ordering even though we were told one hour. Obviously our meal had just been warmed up! Everything was overcooked and dry. The sweet and sour chicken was just chewy with no flavour. It was all dry, tasteless and seemed to have been warmed up several times. For £30+ we expected more. Won't be going back!

Food was fabulous! Picked it up after work and it was quick! Definitely my to-go place!

The food was really hot when it arrived. And it’s so delicious. The price are reasonable. Recommended dishes: chicken satay on skewers, salt and chili pepper squids, Rendang dishes, chow mein

Moday 18 March 24 Evening time Ordered a meal. For person one (A1 on menu) veg spring rolls, Beef with green pepper sauce; fried mix veg, Egg fried rice. Plus, for person two, chicken curry, egg rice and pancake rolls. Big enough portions, could have fed 3 people easily. Fresh prawn crackers included. Nice quick delivery about 25 mins after ordering. Easy to order over phone. Very Polite female delivery driver. Food very hot when delivered. Will definitely buy from them again. Their menu online is the same as the menu on the counter in restaurant so nice and easy to read and use.☆☆☆☆☆

The person who answered the phone was so kind, patient and helpful. Answered all questions we had and the food was amazing. Very pleased with the amazing service!! :)

chow main was very salty, the chips was more than over cooked and chicken balls dry, I don’t no what’s happened but I will not be coming again, it’s such a shame because it used to be so nice, also massively upped the prices.

Nice Chinese, friendly service and very nice food

The food arrived super fast. The portion sizes were pretty big and each container was packed full. The food itself was still really hot and tasted absolutely delicious! I love that you can now pay by card over the phone!

Brilliant food sadly when paying the delivery driver I accidentally gave an extra £10 called the shop and they denied they had it so won't be going back here again no honest

I enjoyed my incredible meal from there. Firstly, the food was warm and it is so delicious. The staff were really generous and friendly. The service was also quite quick and the price is affordable. Would recommend this Chinese Takeaway!

It is a good takeaway shop for our family. We love Chinese food and this was perfect. Service was quick and when the food arrived it was still fresh.

Just discovered this place for the first time and how unique it is. Jia Mo is an archetypal 'only do a couple of things and do them REALLY well' kind of a place. The hand-made noodles were really tasty and the cold sliced beef with chilli oil was unlike anything I've had in this country (in a good way!) I'm on a low carb diet at the moment so was really pleased to see zero carb options on the menu I highly recommend a visit if you fancy something different and authentic. This place deserves to do really well As for the negative 'cold beef sandwich' review why bring a place down for being authentic? The menu is very clear that the beef is served cold, as is tradition in Xi An and Jia Mo offers 2 different cuts of beef: Shank (well known and loved for its fattiness) and topside (lean if fatty is not your thing)

We ate here on Sunday and the jazz in the background is a selling point. The staff are also very attentive and welcoming, however, I wasn't overly impressed by the food. Being in brighton I expected the prawns for starter to be plump and large but they were actually tiny with little flavour and seemed to be frozen ones rather than fresh. The beef was nice but I was a little underwhelmed by the veg. The desserts were better but the fruit salad was mostly orange and apple and I would have liked a bit more variety. If you are staying at the hotel this is a good choice if weather isn't great but I wouldn't recommend to travel for the lunch which is a pity as the staff are really great.

Went here for the hygiene rating but the food arrived cold and not very good at all. Sickly sweet sweet and sour. Won’t be going again. Love Chinese and we heated it up but still threw most of it in the bin

Your typical not great Chinese. Food was fairly soggy, neon in colour and not particularly fresh. Don’t take card either which is always a red flag.

First time order, phoned and visited quickly as I lived not to far, excellent service. Not a problem with paying with cash.

Had awful food poisoning from here and have been throwing up for the last 24 hours. Think it could have been the prawns.Food was bland and noodles were over cooked.

Really tasty food, very quick delivery. Had the duck pancakes, spring rolls, chicken chow mien, chicken in green bean and egg fried rice. All really delicious. Would recommend.

Fantastic establishment! Me n Woody are here before the footy (corrUM what a game that was), I had the prawns noodles, he had a beef dish. We loved it. Thanks Kum, you certainly filled us up!

Best Chinese in brighton, tried others but always come back

Just received our two curry’s but the rice was so very salty,we could not eat it. I could not get in touch to advise them,as there is no e.mail,or anywhere on there website,so unfortunately had to make it a complaint.. I have used Kums for years and they are always top class,as a rule.

Food so good and good for the money nice staff very friendly

This has been my local since it opened and it was hit and miss at first but through the years it’s got better and better I just wish they would add new dishes to the menu like Salt n Pepper Squid that would be amazing, we love you kums

Absolutely horrible, ordered a very simple chicken noodle soup for a quick dinner, wish I didn’t. Noodles were over cooked, and the chicken as you can see from the photo had a think layer of fat. Rang to complain and was told that I had to bring the food back to refund. Complete waste of my time! Would not be returning.

My family & I have been ordering from here regularly since we moved nearby 8 years ago - we've never been dissapointed. We're veggie - veggie options here are gooood.

Absolutely awful. Have used this place before and it was ok. Today everything was very poor. Food arrived within 15 mins of ordering!! Rang to give feedback was told by the owner that someone would come and collect the food, before she put the phone down on me, unfortunately no one did. Avoid at all costs!!

Excellent food and really quick

Realmente disfruté de la comida para llevar de Kums. La comida llegó rápidamente y no estaba grasosa. Nuestro chino habitual estaba cerrado, pero definitivamente volveremos a Kums nuevamente. La comida para llevar también se entregó en una caja de cartón y los contenedores no eran de plástico y eran tan ecológicos.

Soy habitual, visito cada dos semanas, ya sea solo para mí o para mí y mi pareja, ¡y siempre lo espero! La comida es deliciosa, muy limpia, lo cual es muy importante para mí. El pollo siempre está tierno y obtienes mucha carne por plato: excelente precio por lo que obtienes. También son claros con los ingredientes que se usan si los pregunta por teléfono, ya que tengo requisitos dietéticos específicos (sin gluten, sin lácteos). La comida siempre está lista en 15-25 minutos. ¡Esta es mi comida para llevar favorita en Brighton & Hove sin falta!

The worst Chinese food I've ever eaten. Special fried rice had tinned ham in and gross bits of chicken. More peas than anything. And they got the order wrong, that's all I ordered... Photo evidence available.

Quick friendly service, and for the most.part decent. A couple of their dishes are a bit lacking in flavour (in particular the crispy rolls) I have a suspicion that some of their stuff is from frozen.

Hemos usado y quitado Kums durante años y recientemente habíamos regresado con ellos, tal como lo recomendaron varios de nuestros amigos. El llano chow mein es perfecto y la salsa de curry es buena. Sin embargo, las llamadas bolas de cerdo agridulces eran como carne picada barata en trozos de masa cubierta con la salsa en lugar de servirse por separado y no sabían nada bien. Rollitos de primavera probado en masa producido. Esta es la segunda vez consecutiva que la comida no está a la altura de las expectativas y no es lo suficientemente buena.

Ordered for the first time. Food was stale, watery and tasted really bad. Scared of food poisoning. I had an after taste of food gone off. The food was very pricey and they accepted cash only. A bit dodgy I think. A customer should be able to pay for food which ever way they want. Never Again! I'm praying to God none of us get sick from this food.

Overpriced and ran out of nearly everything. Never again...

First time using this takeaway and have to say it’s the best I’ve had in a long time! All very fresh and full of flavour. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a better Chinese.

My local Chinese had closed so this one is a great replacement absolutely superb food and delivery was right on time. And generous portions great set menu and friendly. Highly recommended!

Lovely tasty Chinese. Quick service and friendly

Went down a treat, shared it with the wife and kids. They love a bit of Kums. Came so quick it caught us by surprise! I didn't have enough time to pull out my money! We hadn't had Kums in a while (a dry spot, one could say) so I was really taken aback when the man showed up on our door, with Kums in his hands. Once it was on the table, I couldn't wait to get it in me. Would definitely Kum again!

Ordered for the first time tonight after seeing a recommendation on a local page. Was really impressed. Food was very fresh and tasty with generous portions! Delivery was super fast. Will definitely be switching to Kums as our Chinese takeaway of choice from now on.

Really lovely local Chinese. Friendly and very fast too cook. Food is always hot and tasty. They even don't mind if you want to tweak /add bits to your dish. I'm vegetarian and I ask for a tofu curry that isn't on the menu, they are always happy to cook it (And its awesome!)

A hidden gem in Hollingdean! One of my favourite Chinese take aways, super fast, really friendly, and really good classic Chinese dishes done well.

Always good service and always helpful

Food ok but was disapointed with what was supposed to be Chinese leaf was actually salad lettuce and for the price charged it was a rip off, but when it comes to being delivered there is nothing worse then getting your order short of what you've been waiting for nearly an hour. Like the lack of sweet and sour sauce to go with the balls and lack of rice dishes when you have a house full. Its not the first time this has happened and enough is enough.Using the Oriental in Lewes Road now for my custom and food is spot on and of good portions.

I probably order from this place twice a week and i love it, good food and service.
